The next few days I try to ignore Caleb as much as possible but it's hard considering he's practically glued to Daniela and Theo still doesn't know I know but we hang out often though I don't really know if I can keep it up much longer.

"What's wrong?" Theo asks skeptical

"I'm not trying to hurt you but I'm not sure if I can do this anymore" I say because hanging with the guy who stabbed Caleb isn't really comforting because what if he finds out I know? he can just as well stab me and I'm much weaker than Daniela or Caleb so I'd probably die immediately.

"did I do something wrong?" He asks trying to make sense out of the situation

"No, it's nothing like that. I just don't think I can be in a relationship with someone at this moment, I have to focus on me for a while and no I didn't do that after my last brake up, I focused on anyone else except myself" I say because what if he knows and is like me, keeping tabs on my friends.

"did Caleb or Daniela tell you to say that?" He asks

"no, no. I just need some space" I say escorting him to the door "see you when school starts" I add before closing the door in his face but it's what needs to be done sooner rather than later.

"Why'd you brake up with him?" I hear Caleb say behind me scaring me

"Holy baby jafar! How-?" I start but he cuts me off

"the window" he nods at the window that is the fire escape thingy

"and you just let yourself in?" I ask

"wait...have you done this before" he just stands there arms crossed on his chest thinking carefully is to respond

"so you have done this before?" I ask crossing my arms.

We stare at each other for a good while before he says walking towards me "now that you and Theo are over"

"no. There is still Daniela" I say backing into the door

He reaches his hand out for mine but when our hands should have touch he disappears. Poof. Gone.

I call Daniela to ask her if Caleb is with her which he is.

I sit down, my back against the door trying to figure out what had happened. "Am I going crazy?" I ask myself but then I remember the bite. The bite must have side effects. Right?

The next day I go to Daniela's place to talk to Caleb.

"We have to talk" I tell Caleb who's in the middle of a conversation with Candy

"you can't just burst in here demanding to talk to him" she says angry

"Candy. What do you need?" He asks me

"we have to talk...in private" I say looking at Candy who doesn't look like she's going anywhere

"follow me" he says and walks to an empty bedroom.

"What is it?" He asks closing the door behind me

"is there a side effect when someone gets bitten but doesn't turn?" I ask him

"yeah you see the person who bit you the way you want the person to be. Have you seen me?" He asks

"yes but the opposite of what I want" I say annoyed

"that's not possible" he says and I pace

"how long does it last?" I ask

"shouldn't last long"

"is it supposed to talk?"

"No"

"touch me?"

"No. Wait did your person talk and touch you" he asks worried

"yes and we had a conversation" I say

"what about?"

"He had appeared when I just broke up with Theo and said he'd entered through the window fire escape thingy" I say not mentioning the...other stuff he said.

Caleb stands there silent for a moment and a muscle ticks in his jaw before he says "that shouldn't happen"

"No shit Sherlock . I thought I was going crazy" I say and he walks up to me putting his hands my shoulders trying to comfort me

"we will get to the bottom of this" he says and a second later Daniela walks in, she stops when she sees us and tears start to form in her eyes

"I knew it" she says before running away crying

"Daniela!" I call after her getting free from Caleb's grip. I run after her and calling her name.

"I thought we were friends" she says as I catch up with her

"oh no. You misunderstood the situation" I say

"he was comforting me because I thought I was going crazy"

"for him?"

"What?! No, but I did see him at my place after braking up with Theo. But it was just a hallucination of him a side effect from the whole bite thing" I explain but her tears don't stop running down her cheeks

"why would you see hallucinations of him and after what bite?" She asks wiping away a tear

"I kind of died but Caleb bit me saving me and that had a side effect that was and is hallucinations of him" I say and her face is overcome with worry

"you died? Caleb bit you? But you aren't a wolf, what are you?" She asks

"what do you mean what am I?"

"There is nobody who is known to have survived a wolf bite and didn't turn into a wolf. He must've known what you are because he wouldn't risk something like that" she says and what if I'm not human but a creature like them...I don't want to be like them, I'm fine with being a human.

"Girl-" a man says but stops and growls at me in a position like he's ready to jump at us

"Zack! Don't!" Caleb says running towards us

"but she's dead" the man...or I guess Zack growls

"I know" Caleb snarls back as he jumps in between us and him

"what do you mean I'm dead?!" I ask

"Not now Victoria" Caleb says and Zack jumps for us but Caleb jumps back towards him knocking him down and they fight until Caleb pins Zack down on the floor forcing him to listen

"don't ever make any sorts of move against them or you will regret it even more" Caleb barks out at him and that's when it's obvious he's the alpha, he can control people with fear because of how frigging powerful and loud his voice can get.

"fine!" Zack says through gritted teeth giving up and Caleb lets him go.

Zack looks at me like he's gonna kill me no matter what Caleb says.

"What Do You Mean I'm Dead?!" I ask him again as he approaches us

"I can't tell you" he says and looks at me like he used to look at Daniela when they first met so I look away giving him the could shoulder

"Daniela we have to talk in private" he says looking at her and I know exactly what he's going to do. He's gonna tell her what I am and brake up with her and I know it's all my fault if I weren't so darn stubborn he wouldn't dare to come near me because I'm human...or I hope I'm human.
