Next Day

Scarlet's pov

I wake up, falling out of bed from Richard calling me.

"Scarlet!! Wake up!! It's 6:47!" Richard shouts

I jump to my feet and run to my closet. I,accidently,  step on a sweater on my floor and slip. I land on my ankle, and then, SNAP!!

"AAAGGGHHH!!!!" I scream in pain. Tears come to my eyes and I start breathing harder.

"D-DADDY!!" I shout. Richard knows I'm hurt when I call him or Mom 'Daddy/Mommy' or 'Papa/Mama'.

In seconds, Daddy's in my room and by my side.

"Scar, what happened?!" Daddy asks me, worriedly

"I...sniff...I ran to m-my closet...sniff...but, I sl-slipped on a-a sweater." I manage to say, before bursting to tears.

Daddy hugs me and rocks me in his arms. "Are you able to stand?" he asks

"Y-sniff-Yes."

"Then, change out of your pajamas and we'll head to the hospital."

"Sniff...Okay."

After X-ray

"How is she?" Daddy asks the doctor

"Well, she broke her ankle. You see,..... bla bla bla yada yada yada doctor stuff science-y stuff bla bla bla. In other words...She won't be able to run. In fact, I advise against it."

"WHAT?!? B-B-But, I always run!! Everyday!! Running is SUPER MEGA important to me!!" I shout

"I'm sorry, Miss Scarlet. But you can't run. At least for 7 months." Dr. Ares says

"Can I, at least, walk?" I ask

"With crutches, yes. You'll also need a cast."

"All right, then. Scarlet, you're still going to school." Richard says

"But, Richarrrrd..."I whine

"No 'buts' young lady." I groan

After getting cast; At school

Richard drops me off at school on lunch break and says, " I called the school. The teachers know why you're late."

"Okay. Bye, Richard." I say

"Be careful."

"I will." I say, getting out of the car

Mia and Emily run up to me.

"Scar! What happened?!" Mia asks me

"A little accident waking up." I say

"LITTLE?! You're in a cast, Scarlet!!" Emy shrieks, making everyone look at us.

I chuckle nervously and sigh.

'This is gonna be a long day.' I think
