Chapter 3
A/N: Ayyyy Boris finally makes an appearance in this one! Also happy Halloween!
You started to walk around the room, sometimes watching the animators work. Anytime you saw someone drawing Boris you couldn't help but smile. He was such a huge impact on your life and you still couldn't believe that he was really a character.
You remembered his premier episode, Sheep Songs. Your tiny 9 year old brain couldn't handle really seeing him on screen, animated and acting just like you imagined he would. And when the end credits came along and you got a special thanks and your name in any episodes with Boris, your heart would swell and you would continue to ponder exactly why they chose Boris. Why they chose you.
But pondering aside you continued to go around, making small talk and comments on the animator's work, and even getting pretty friendly with the studio's janitor.
Finally you walked up to Sammy. He didn't look up so you slowly put a hand on his desk to support yourself while you looked over his shoulder at what he was doing.
He was writing music notes and symbols that you couldn't decipher to save your life. You had seen some clean sheet music in your life before, but what he was writing was full of weird markings, scribbles, and margin notes. You assumed he was still writing it rather than just cleaning it up before printing.
"Are you the music director?" You asked, just to get him to acknowledge your existence.
His reply was short and a little tired sounding, "Yes. Music is my passion."
You watched him write a few more notes before you stood up properly again. Sammy was honestly pretty interesting to you. While you noticed most of the workers here at Joey Drew Studios were more quiet and antisocial this man was even moreso than others. He didn't seem shy, per se, just happy to be left alone to his own devices.
So you did leave him to his own devices, silently walking away and going back to chatting with the animators.
Soon however a familiar face reappeared. Joey re-entered the room, looking excited and maybe a little nervous. You straightened up and faced him as he approached.
"Are you having fun so far?" He asked.
You grinned and nodded eagerly. "Of course! It's so cool here. I never would have thought I would get the chance to be here!"
Joey surprised you with his more softspoken reply, seemingly half to himself, "Neither did I, kid..."
Your smile fell a little more and you considered asking him what was on his mind before the man piped back up again.
"Well, I have a few more places I want to show you before I take you to the special surprise I have planned for you! Let's go!" He exclaimed as he turned on his heels. You paused for a moment, lost in your own thoughts about this 'surprise' before following him excitedly.
Joey led you down a few flights of stairs. You looked at the various posters of the show's characters and episodes before commenting, "This place looked so much smaller from outside, I'm amazed that there's so much down here."
"Yeah, well, it definately costed a pretty penny to get all this extra room added in, but I'm certain it was worth it," he replied. You saw a larger open space up ahead. How big was this place?
He led you into the space, which turned out to be the music and recording studio. There was a projector on the higher balcony and a handful of musicians practicing with various instruments.
Joey gestured to the overall room and announced, "Welcome to the music department! Where we record songs and voice acting for the show."
Whoa. This was so cool. You looked around, trying to absorb every little detail that you could. This place was just so incredible, it was so much more than it seemed at first glance.
Some of the musicians waved at you and you waved back, smiling supportively. You also gave them a thumbs-up on their music performance. It sounded incredible, even if it was just jumbled practice.
Joey tapped you on the shoulder and you turned your attention back to him again. "Are you ready for your surprise now?" He questioned.
You decided to be a smartass and replied, "Well, I don't know. I don't know what it is yet to judge if I can handle it." You let your comment hang in the air before a huge grin split your face and you squealed, "No, but, seriously, you've mentioned this surprise like 3 times and I'm super anxious to know what it is!"
Joey smirked and without bothering to speak beckoned you along. Your little pair left the studio and came back to a room upstairs again. It was quieter than some other parts of the studios but there was a feeling of life in the air...
Joey stopped in front of a closed door and turned to you, more seriously.
He looked you straight in the eyes and told you, "What you will see behind these doors is something that no one of the public knows about, and you have to promise to keep it a secret. What is seen in the studio stays in the studio."
You blinked, a little surprised by his change in demeanor and nodded, mentally promising yourself and him.
Both you and Joey looked like you were about to speak before a small, familiar high pitched voice cut you both off from behind the door, "Hey, Joey! Can we come out now?"
You blinked in surprise. It sounded like Bendy. Maybe you were meeting the voice actors?
Joey smiled at you one more time as he opened the door. You looked in the room and was confused for a moment. Then you saw movement at the very bottom of your vision.
You glanced down and immediatly went speechless. It was Bendy. Holy shit, it was fricken Bendy.
He looked just like his cartoons, but well, more real. And more 3D. And he was a smol. Maybe 2 1/2 or 3 feet tall.
While you were racking your brain for logical answers as to why or how this fictional charater was real, said character looked at you, then at Joey and asked with a childlike innocence, "Joey, who's this?"
Joey smiled down at the little toon and replied, "I told you earlier today, I was bringing a guest over. This is (y/n), the very first designer and creator of Boris."
Bendy's face brightened. "Ooohhh, I remember now!" He turned to you and held out his hand for a formal handshake. "It's an honor to meet you, miss (y/n)!"
You finally managed to somewhat get over your shock and squeaked back, "I-It's an honor to meet you too! I never thought I would be able to meet you!" You shook hands. Holy hell, you just shook hands with a living cartoon.
Soon enough Joey cleared his throat, seeming pleased. You and the small demon beside you looked at him. He grinned mischeiviously at you and called into the room, "Boris?"
Omg. No. He can't be. He has to be joking or pranking you somehow. As you watched a tall furry figure wearing worn white overalls stepped into your view.
