You and Yuu had a special bond. It was more than family, but it was less than a romantic relationship. You weren't sure what it was but you didn't care. Yuu was special to you and that was all you cared about.

You knew his past and you knew he was scared to make new friends and have a new family. He was scared to keep people close to him, but he always kept you close for some reason. That scared you, that he could be falling in love with you.

It's not like you didn't like him, You didn't want things to change and you didn't want to be committed to somebody. You knew love came with hard work, and if you lost the person you loved, how were you going to function?

"(F/N)-chan?" You came back into reality when you heard Yuu call your name. You looked to the left of you and he had a smile on his face.

"Yuu-kun.."

"Don't daze off now, vampires could be here anytime." He said as he rubbed your head, messing up your hair.

"Hey.." You pulled his hand off your head and you fixed your hair before you faced forward again from your spot. "Sorry Yuu-kun, I've been thinking too much."

"Just don't die okay? You're important to me." Your eyes widened at Yuu's words and your heart skipped a beat. But you weren't happy, you were getting scared.

'Don't fall in love with me, I can't do this..' You thought as you looked down and tightened your grip on your sword.

"Vampires are coming!" Shinoa shouted as we all got into combat. "Stay together!" Shinoa took her scythe and started to kill the vampires.

You ran to the side and swung your sword where the vampires were. Unfortunately for you, three vampires were against you and the whole team was occupied with fighting their own vampires. You swung at a vampire but they dodged it and tripped you so you fell on the floor.

Yuu turned around and he saw the vampires holding a sword, ready to plunge it into your fragile body. He slashed the vampire he was fighting and he ran towards you as the vampire swung his hands downwards, stabbing you in the stomach.

"(F/N)!!"

Your eyes fluttered open as you found yourself look at the white ceiling. You turned your head and found Yuu next to your bed, but he was sleeping.

"Yuu-kun." You said softly as you shook him awake. His eyes opened and he gasped when he noticed you were awake.

"(F/N)-chan!" He enveloped you in a hug and his head was buried in your neck. You were taken back by his gesture so you didn't know what to do.

"Yuu-kun, what happened?" You asked as he sat back down in his chair.

"The vampires...they stabbed you and you blacked out.." He said sadly as his face was filled with anger and sadness. "You almost died."

"Did you save me?" You asked as you looked at him. He looked up into your eyes and nodded.

"I did. I had to save you."

"Why?"

"Because I love you." Your eyes widened and your heart was beating furiously. Yuu took your hand in his and he looked straight into your eyes. "I love you (F/N)."

You started to panic on the inside. This is exactly what you did not want. You were getting scared because he loved you. You didn't know what to do.

"I-I can't." You said as tears started to form in your eyes. "Yuu-kun, I can't."

"What? What do you mean you can't?" He asked as he squeezed your hands.

"Please leave Yuu-kun, I can't do this right now." You asked as you took your hands out of his. "Please leave."

Yuu stood up and left the room while you were breathing heavily in the bed. You buried your head in your hands as you tried to calm yourself.

"I can't...I can't..."

"(F/N)-san?" You looked up and saw Shinoa leaning at the door. "Are you okay?"

"Did you hear us?" You asked as she walked toward your bed and sat where Yuu was.

"I did, please tell me. Why did you say no to Yuu-san?" She asked as she gave you a serious face. You trusted Shinoa, she was a very respectful and responsible girl for somebody so young.

"I'm scared Shinoa, scared of love! I'm scared that if Yuu-kun likes me then our relationship isn't going to be the one we have now! Then if one of us dies, we'll be living in grief! I can't live like that.." You cried out to Shinoa. Your tears were flowing out of your eyes and Shinoa sat on the chair, looking down at her hands.

"I see, you're scared of loving somebody."

"He's lost too much. I'm going to be a burden. I'm not ready for this."

"I'll ask Yuu-san to come back tomorrow to visit you. Please talk about this too him, I'm sure he took this the wrong way."

"Okay.."

"Yuu-kun?" Yuu came into the room and stood by the door, not sure what he should do because of what happened yesterday. "Please sit down."

"I have something important to tell you." You told him as he sat down in the chair. When he looked at you, you started talking. "You know when you told me you loved me yesterday?"

"We don't have to talk about this. I know already." He said a bit annoyed and it bothered you but you continued anyways.

"I love you too Yuu-kun," Yuu's eyes widened and he looked at you in shock. "I love you too, it's just that I'm scared to love you because I don't want anything to happen to us. I'm scared that everything is going to change, I'm scared of being close to you because I'm scared to lose you."

"You don't have to be scared. We don't have to go into a relationship right away. I'll wait until you're ready to be in a relationship, but I won't change the way I act towards you." Yuu held your hands and put his forehead against yours.

"I love you, so I'll wait for you."

"Thanks Yuu-kun, I love you too."

Shinoa stood by the door and smiled at the two of you. She walked out to the hallways and leaned against the wall.

"Ahh, love."
