Feelings

Aaron

I blinked in shock when we kissed.

It was short, but passionate.

She looked away, blushing bright red. My face heats up, and I'm starting to think I'm dreaming.

"I-I-I'm soRRY!" She squeaks, her voice raising a pitch higher at the end.

"I-it's fine!" I assure her, laughing nervously.

"N-no it's not! I-I should h-have a-asked, a-and I'm supposed to b-be m-mad-" I cut her off with a kiss, putting my arms around her. She let's out a muffled, "Mmph!" but doesn't pull away.

This time, we stay how we are for a couple minutes, until we pull away for air.

Aphmau blinked multiple times, breathing heavily. We're both blushing madly.

"I... th-think we need to talk about this..." she mumbles, just loud enough for me to hear.

I nod in agreement.

Neither of us seem to know where to start.

"What... happened, after I... left?" I ask finally, being careful with what I say. She shivers, and looks down.

"Gene, the Shadow Knights, Ivy and Lilly, and even Michi... started harassing me, every day... they said that if I told anyone, even you, they would hurt my friends... Gene would beat me after school every other day..." she says softly, her voice shaking, "it continued on, until college... I guess word spread fast, but not everyone understood... my roommate, was a girl named Jennifer, who kept claiming she was your girlfriend... the same girl you were... kissing... a-and... she hated me... almost everyone did... I just... stopped talking to people, except Katelyn... one day... I snapped, and Zane saw... that's how we became friends... all my other friends left..."

She whimpered, and I saw a few tears fall.

She's been holding this all in?

And... it's my fault...

I hugged her, pulling her closer to me.

"I'm sorry... I should have tried harder to explain..." I murmur, burying my face into the crook of her neck. She flinches, but doesn't protest.

"It's not your fault... I should've let you explain..." she says, her voice cracking.

"I never was dating Jenny... I thought she was falling on me, and... didn't realize... I'm sorry..."

She doesn't answer, just hugs tighter. I can hear and feel her heart pounding.

Aphmau starts crying, so I hug her tighter.

Then her stomach rumbles.

We pull away, and I smirk at her.

"Hungry?" I ask.

"M-mhm..." she nods nervously, her face a crimson shade of red. I laugh a little.

"I'll go out hunting." I say, standing up. "Be right back." I start towards the cave.

She nods, and I get a bad feeling about leaving her alone again, but I can't take her with me. It's too dangerous.

I ruffle her hair a little, and leave the cave.

Aphmau

Once he's gone, my mind starts whirling.

I lean against the side of the cave, whimpering and hurting. These bandages may stop the bleeding, but it doesn't do much for pain.

Oh my Irene, I don't know what to do...

I still have feelings, but I don't know if I can trust him, but he did save me, but he kept being a werewolf a secret from me and still is hiding something, but I do like werewolves, but-

UGH!

This sucks...

Heh, life never has been easy for me... Irene just keeps throwing things at me.

About half an hour later, Aaron comes back, and cooks a deer he caught. I don't question how he caught it, gutted it, or skinned it, but I'm grateful for the food.

I shift my leg to a more comfortable position, but wince in the process. Everything hurts, especially when I move. It makes me tense.

Aaron notices, and gives me a worried look.

"Are you okay?" He asks.

"Y-yeah... it just hurts a bit, n-not a big, DEAL." My voice raises a little at the end, turning strained when I accidentally whack my arm against a rock.

"Uh huh." He gives me this look, telling me he doesn't believe a word I just said.   I look away.

His arms wrap around my torso, pulling me into his lap suddenly. I squeak out of shock. When did he move behind me?

"I love you..." he whispers softly in my ear. I shiver and lean into him. I just nod, unable to speak for some reason. My eyes close, and I relax.

It doesn't take long to fall asleep.
