Clouds
Eventually, blue returned and green was gone. Eventually, Tyler Joseph got used to colors coming and leaving, until one day pink returned and brown appeared to him for the first time.
Joshua Dun had walked into the same store, every Friday, at the same time.
Jim's Musical Hardware, once every Friday, at eight p.m.
He did the same thing every time; he tested the same drum set, made conversation with the worker at the front (Debby), and made a promise to work extra for the drum set.
But it all changed when a certain guy walked into the store and started examining the ukuleles.
He noticed something he's never seen before! It's the color they said he couldn't see! It was brown!
He didn't know what to call the feeling that rose in his chest, but if he was to try to explain it, he would describe it as expecting an avocado and getting a Mexican fiesta.
He was hungry.
But soon, as if noticing Josh's eyes on him (or wondering why the drumming had stopped), the man turned to face him.
By god, was he beautiful. There was nothing else to describe him.
He made eye contact with the boy (who was currently gaping at him) and noticed that color, brown, in his eyes. His eyes were wonderful, with a wonderful forest-bark, coffee color.
The stranger (who, as he now knew, was his soulmate) seemed nervous. Therefore, he knew he had to initiate conversation, which was a big thing for him due to his social anxiety.
Moving off the drum set, without breaking eye contact, he shuffled over to the guy.
With a stutter, his soulmate murmured '' hello, '' before Josh had spoke. He immediately felt a surge of affection for the guy, as it was as if he could sense his nervousness.
'' Hello, '' Josh responded, a wave of confidence rolling over him.
'' I'm Josh, '' he said extending his hand out to the other man, while he giggled.
'' What's funny? '' He asked, suddenly feeling insecure.
'' It's just funny, we're supposed to be s- '' he broke off with a breath. He didn't know he had been gay, he wasn't supposed to be. But he had known./knew there was nothing wrong with it, he just wasn't supposed to BE it. Tyler Joseph was gay?
'' Soulmates, '' he rushed.
'' And we're acting like nervous five year-old business men. '' He finished. Both began to laugh.
'' So, I'm Josh, and your name is...? ''
'' Tyler. Tyler Joseph. ''
