Sunlight pours into the window, hitting Naruto right in his face. He grumbles, cursing the sun in his head, and turns over, smothering his face into Sasuke's neck. He doesn't want to wake up, yet his body readies for the day's activities. His stomach growls, his bladder feels like it wants to explode, but he's warm in Sasuke's arms.

It's too perfect to move.

"Sasuke," Naruto mumbles into his skin. He earns a grunt in response. "I don't wanna move."

Sasuke lazily pries open his eyes, taking in the hazy view of Naruto. "Do you want me to hold you tighter?"

"I wouldn't mind that."

Sasuke entangles their legs together, becoming chest to cheat with Naruto. Their noses touch and Sasuke can't help himself when he presses his lips to Naruto's.

A good morning kiss makes Naruto smile. Sasuke leans in again, kissing him once more while touching any exposed skin. Naruto melts in his gentle touches as it nearly lulls him back to sleep. But their morning bliss is interrupted by none other than Sai.

The door swings open, and in a sing-song voice, Sai asks, "What do you want for breakfast?"

Sasuke rolls his eyes. Naruto doesn't move.

"Don't ignore me!" Sai pouts. It only takes a minute before Sai storms off, yelling to Gaara that they're not coming down.

Sasuke returns to Naruto's lips. Kissing them softly and kissing them sweetly. He wants to stay like this forever.

Through the kisses, Sasuke says, "You're so pretty in the morning sun."

And he's right. The pale sun rays give Naruto something akin to a halo, highlighting his blond hair. His blue eyes never dull, even when hazed over with sleepiness. Sasuke caresses Naruto's cheek, his skin soft and warm, glowing with boyish charm.

Naruto enjoys every kiss coming his way, smiling every time their lips part. But this is short-lived yet again since they hear thundering footsteps coming towards their room. Sasuke internally groans, thinking it's Sai once again to bother them.

The door swings open with a forceful air, the doorknob amazing against the adjacent wall.  In the doorway stands Gaara, looking ticked off.

"Hey!" Gaara snaps. "Get the fuck up."

Sasuke raises his hand to shoo the man away. Naruto doesn't say a thing.

Gaara storms up to the bed, yanking on Sasuke's arm until he falls out of the bed.

"Hey!-" Sasuke stops mid-way through as Gaara steps on his back and chucks Naruto over his shoulder like a sack of potatoes. "Wait! C'mon, we were comfortable!"

Gaara stalks out of the room, not speaking as Sasuke scrambles to his feet. The need to pee hits him, and now he's fully aware of his full bladder. He would have to get Naruto later.

...

When Sasuke finally comes downstairs, showered and dressed, Gaara's family greets him. They introduce themselves one by one and have him sit down at the dining room table. Temari flips through a magazine while drinking iced coffee, Kankuro plays on his handheld console, and Rasa reads the funnies---although he doesn't laugh at a single one. The others are nowhere to be seen.

Karura, Gaara's mom, gives him freshly made omurice. She smiles at him, placing chopsticks in his hands. "I hope you enjoy it."

"Thanks."

It's been so long since Sasuke ate a home-cooked meal. Over four years ago, to be exact. The moment Sasuke hit puberty, which was at an early age, it's been boarding schools and independent from his parents. Yes, during the holidays, he could return home, visit his parents, visit his brother, but his parents never really wanted him there. Never cooked for him, never cared for him, hardly even looked at him.

So, even if he was home, he was still independent of his parents. Ramen noodles and microwaved foods were his diet for such a long time. It's quite sad, really.

Before Sasuke knew it, the omurice is gone. He devoured every piece, which is unlike him. He typically doesn't eat in such a fast manner.

Karura laughs, taking a napkin and dabbing away leftover rice on his face. Sasuke doesn't shy away from the gentle touch but blushes all the same.

"It must've been really good," she says. "Would you like some more?"

Sasuke shakes his head. "No. I think I'm done."

Karura takes his plate and says, "Well, the others are already in the greenhouse. Just go out that door, and you'll see it."

"Th-Thanks." He slides out of his chair, trotting to the side door that leads outside. A well-kept cobblestone pathway leads to a large glass structure. From the outside, he sees Naruto, still in his pajamas, running around with a goofy expression on his face.

Although Sasuke is jealous of Gaara for making Naruto this happy with just some stupid plants, he still smiles upon seeing Naruto's childish grin. He takes his time arriving at the greenhouse door, trying to contain his excitement to see Naruto again.

Even though he tries to act cool, the moment Naruto sees Sasuke, he yells, "Sasuke!"

This makes Sasuke suppress a lovesick grin. He jogs up to Naruto, kissing him upon arrival. Gaara tends to his plants, and Sai watches him with interest. Well, more like amazement. But this doesn't concern Sasuke. He hardly casts them a look with his eyes trained on Naruto.

Once up close to the boy, Sasuke grabs his hand. Naruto grins, bursting with joy. "You gotta see Gaara's succulents! They're gorgeous!"

Sasuke glances around. Every plant glows with health. A beautiful vibrant green is all Sasuke sees before focusing back on Naruto. "Yeah, beautiful. Now we should get back---"

"You should look around more. He even has a sitting place," Naruto says, pulling Sasuke along.

The path along the inside of the greenhouse is narrow and made of brick. It curves around the large center pond, where lily pads, water lilies, and lotus flowers bloom. Pots hang from the ceiling, and of course, they're full of plants too.

"Those ones are called the string of hearts," Naruto says, pointing upwards to a plant that dangles from its pot. "And that one's a mistletoe cactus. Isn't it gorgeous?"

Sasuke doesn't necessarily care about plants; he just wants to take Naruto back to bed where he can cuddle him until nightfall.

"You sure know a lot," Sasuke says.

"Yeah. I've always wanted to take care of plants, but I kinda suck at it. I'm pretty forgetful," Naruto says, stopping right next to Gaara and Sai.

Sai begins to smile at Naruto, but it quickly turns into a scowl upon seeing Sasuke. "You're finally up, you asshole?"

"Oh, shove it up your ass." Sasuke yawns, feigning boredom. Sai only becomes angrier. It's then that Gaara finally takes over the conversation.

"Sasuke," he begins, his voice dead serious. "When I call you down to any meal, you will join us. My mother didn't slave over a hot stove for her guests to be rude. You will respect my house and my hospitality."

Sasuke nods, too afraid to say anything smart back. "Yeah, sorry. I just wanted to stay with Naruto for a little longer."

"Whatever." Gaara sets down a small succulent. He turns to his boyfriend, who looks upset, he presses a kiss to his cheek, and Sai instantly switches attitudes.

"I love you so much," Sai swoons. "I just hate him."

Sai stared pointedly at Sasuke, who rolls his eyes.

"Please get along," Naruto begs meekly. Of course, he can't force them to be friends, but they could at least be civil to one another while they're double dating. "I just want everyone to be happy."

"I was happier holding you," Sasuke sighs, leaning his head on Naruto. He pulls his sleeve like a child. "Let's go back."

"Later. But right now, I want to enjoy all this."

...

Naruto stays until nightfall, to Sasuke's annoyance. But he sits amongst the stars and the plants peacefully. The greenhouse keeps them warm. Karura and Rasa so kindly bring them dinner so they can sit together and eat.

The boys sit at a heating table, enjoying their soup, rice, and fish. Sasuke enjoys this. He likes sitting with friends and eating. He's a true loner, but being here next to Naruto feels right.

Naruto feels the same way. He never truly had a family to call his own. Yes, Sakura and her parents adopted him, but he always felt out of place. Being next to his friends, especially Sasuke, gives him a sense of belonging. It's something he holds dear.

Naruto reaches over to hold Sasuke's right hand under the table. A warm envelopes them both, reminding Sasuke of their morning snuggle. He still wants to return to that position, but he supposes being under the moon and stars is a decent replacement.

Sasuke stares up at the moon, his mind quiet, his hand warm. He smiles, thankful to not be plagued with any doubts or pointless worries.

Through the glass walls, the moonlight pools around Sasuke. It highlights his hair, and Naruto sees the dark blue streaks through them. His skin glows as if it were the moon and the stars, bringing an ethereal dim shine to his features. His eyes even change color in this light, like a deep amber, almost red. His smile even brings him peace, just like his presence.

Naruto scoots closer to Sasuke, forgetting his food. He remembers what he said to him this morning, the comment that made his stomach flip.

You're so pretty in the morning sun.

The line still makes his stomach turn. He leans in close to Sasuke's ear, forgetting all about his two onlookers, Sai and Gaara.

"And you look beautiful in the moonlight."
