Naruto and Neji sat in silence. It wasn't the typical awkward silence. It was tense, apprehensive, awkward silence. Naruto has prepared himself for that talk. The talk in which Neji yells at Naruto for kissing his previous lover, and Naruto was willing to accept all the blame. The pitiful young teen felt an uncomfortable shift when Neji glanced at him with such hateful eyes.

He could feel that Neji was ready to scream at him, ask rhetorical accusing questions and throw things. But he didn't. Neji continued on with his homework, acting as if Naruto wasn't there.

Naruto felt crummy. The fact that he betrayed Neji in just the first two days of school made him believe that he had lost the only friend willing to protect him from the dangers of this school. Naruto lost his guardian angel.

"Aren't you going to say something?" Neji asked bitterly. His chin was in his hand as he slumped over his homework on his bed.

"I'm...I'm sorry Neji," Naruto apologized quickly. He knew that Neji wouldn't believe him, not after what he witnessed in the bathroom.

Neji stood so quickly from his bed that his homework flew up into the air and flopped to the ground.

"Then why were you kissing him?! If you were sorry then you wouldn't have done that!" Neji yells. For once he held back his tears, he no longer wanted to cry over Sasuke. "You knew he was my boyfriend!"

"But didn't he break up with you?" Naruto asked, but immediately regretted the words the slipped from his lips. Neji looked puzzled for a second, but his eyebrows furrowed deeper.

"How did you know that he specifically broke up with me?"

Naruto didn't know what to say. Usually in the time of confrontation, Naruto can't think of anything witty or intelligent to say to rid him of the dreadful situation at hand.

"I, I, um," Naruto babbled like an idiot. That's when Neji grabbed Naruto by the shirt and yanked him off the bed.

"He told you, didn't he?" snarled Neji. "He told you!"

"No! He didn't I swe--"

Neji dropped his roommate to the floor in absolute anger. "You wanted Sasuke, didn't you?! Ever since you saw him, you wanted him! And when you found out that he dumped me, that was just the perfect fucking opportunity for you, wasn't it?!"

"Neji please, I didn't know!"

"Stop lying!" Neji cried out. "Now that you practically fucked him in the bathroom, he's all over you! And that's what you wanted!"

Naruto's heart was pounding, and his brain was scattered, looking for any reasonable thing to say to his roommate just to calm him down.

"I can't believe Sasuke wants you!" Neji looks at Naruto like he was examining a festering rat. "You're not even remotely as attractive as I am!"

Arrows. That's what it felt like to Naruto. He physically felt Neji's words pierce him like arrows, ripping holes through his body, leaving the poor boy hollow. Naruto didn't fight back, he couldn't. Instead he carried all the blame on his shoulders, not once blaming Sasuke for anything.

"I'm sorry," Naruto mumbles. "It's all my fault."

"God! I can't stand to look at you any longer!" Neji let's out a frustrated sigh. "Leave."

Neji pointed to the door, but Naruto hesitates, thinking Neji couldn't actually be serious. But the look in Neji's eyes said otherwise. Those blank orbs held large amounts of hate and pain. Just looking at Naruto caused damage to Neji's already cracked heart.

Naruto stood, avoiding Neji on his way to the door, in fear that Neji would attack him. He turned to look at his roommate, feeling so much guilt.

"I'm sorry Neji," Naruto apologizes again. He opens the door, readying himself to leave, but makes the mistake of looking back at Neji once more.

"Get the hell out!" Neji yells. He picks up Naruto's belongings and begins to throw his property at him. Naruto moved from the doorway and into the hallway, watching his possessions drop to the carpeted floor. Some of his things actually hit him, but Naruto has lost all feelings. He was drained. He thought maybe just this once he wouldn't fuck up, maybe he could make some friends and not be a total outcast.

He was wrong.

While the horrible events went on in front of him, Kiba's words echoed in the back of Naruto's mind.

He ruins people Naruto.

A feeling of overwhelming regret washed over Naruto as the sound of dorm room 656's door was slammed closed. Naruto broke down to his knees once he did a look over of all his belongings that lie on the floor.
