Being stuck in hospital for weeks isn't the most entertaining thing ever, but it has given Riley and Chase plenty of time to start planning their wedding. It's been 2 and a half weeks since the shooting and Chase and Riley are both recovering well. Chase woke up from his induced coma 2 days after Riley and himself were moved into the same room. The pair were both moved out of the I.C.U and into a private the next day, considering they were both stable and breathing for themselves.

Ever since then the pair has been having plenty of tests, to check that everything is going well and lots of physiotherapy to get them up and moving. In their alone time when they have been stuck in their rooms, they have been going over plans for their wedding and have even started thinking about a date and venue. They have had a constant flow of visitors daily, mostly those from 51 and the district and even the occasional visit from Cindy Hermann, keeping them company for an hour or so and bringing them some treats before having to return to her motherly duties.

So far, the pair has heard nothing about going home – that is until today. At around midday Will, Connor and Clarke (who in this book is still a firefighter at 51), walk into their room.
"Hey guys, how you doing?" Clarke says, sitting down on the edge of Chases bed as Riley is sat up in the chair next to his bed.
"We are good...got a lot of wedding planning sorted" Riley says, making everyone chuckle.
"Well, we have some good news for the both of you" Will says, before looking at Connor.
"We have checked out your latest test results have decided that you are both well enough to go home" Connor says, making Chase and Riley smile.
"Really?" Chase asks, shocked but happy from the news.
"Yes, you will both have a check-up appointment in a week or so and will need someone to keep an eye on you but yes – you're free." Will says, making the pair chuckle.
"And that's where I come in...I have brought clothes and stuff for the both of you and I am here to take you home and 'Baby sit' you for the rest of the day" Clarke says, placing a bag on the end of Chases. Bed.
"And don't worry Riley, Brett sorted your clothes out" Clarke adds, making her chuckle.
"Thank you" Riley says, getting up to give him a hug.
"I'll have Nat come up to give you a hand Riley...it'll be best to have someone there" Rhodes says, before looking at Chases reaction.
"-who can actually help you and she'll redress everything afterwards" Rhodes says, leaving the room.
"I can help you Chase if you want or Clarke" Will says.
"You can, that way you can re-dress everything and Clarke can keep Riley company" Chase responds.

2 hours later we are all walking out of the hospital and heading home. Clarke decides to stay the night as we need someone to keep an eye on us. We all sit and order some pizza. We eat dinner whilst watching Netflix. After taking our night meds we decide to have an early night. It feels good to be home again, and sharing a bed again with the person you love
