Riley's P.O.V:
I can hear faint noises all around me and I can feel something down my throat. Where am I? What happened to me? The last thing I remember is Chase being loaded into the ambulance. I try to force my eyes open but they don't budge. I move my arms and feel about. I feel loads of tubes and wires and instantly start to panic as I can't open my eyes or speak. I feel someone's hands wrap around my own. I hear a voice that I would recognize anywhere – Will Haltstead's. I can faintly hear what he is saying. I feel something peel away from my eyes and then I realize I can open them. I look desperately into Will's eyes, pleading for answers. He takes my hands, and moves them away from my face. He then speaks again.
"Riley, calm down for me. You're okay. You're in the hospital okay?" I nod my head gently, calming down slightly. 
"Do you remember what happened?" I raise my hand and shake it half way, symbolizing I remember some parts but not all of them.
"Okay, do you remember what happened to Chase?" He asks me, I nod my head frantically wanting to know how he is.
"Good. Chases is okay. He's in the room next door. He's sedated and ventilated still but that's to let his body rest okay?" He asks me. I nod my head and relax even more hearing that he is okay.
"Do you know what happened to you?" He hands. I shake my head no.
"Okay, you were shot as well. You didn't know because your body was in shock okay? But we took you into surgery and fixed you up. Now if you want, I can get Rhodes and we can take the tube out yeah?" he asks. I nod my head. Wanting to be extubated at last. He pages Dr Rhodes and a few minutes later Connor walks in carrying a tray of supplies.
"Good to see you awake. Now are you ready for me to take this out?" He asks pointing at the tube whilst pulling on a pair of gloves. I nod my head frantically.
"Okay, first I'm going to disconnect the machine then I'll deflate the cuff. When I pull the tube out I need you to blow out okay? It may make you cough a bit?" he says, making sure I understand. I nod my head again. Will takes my hand whilst Rhodes disconnects the ventilator. I take a breath through the tube, showing that I actually can. Rhodes unstraps the tube holder and deflates the cuff.
"Ready? I need you to take a deep breath and then blow" I do as he says and he removes the rube. I cough a few times before Will places a nasal oxygen on my face.

"How you are feeling?" Will asks, as Rhodes disposes of the supplies.
"Good" I say, my throat dry and sore. Will hands me a glass of water and I take a few sips.
"Hey, can I borrow someone's phone?" I ask, wanting to contact 51.
"Here you can borrow mine, I have a surgery I have to get to, I'll come by and collect it afterwards" Connor says, handing me his phone.
"Thanks" I smile as he leaves the room.
Will sits down in the chair next to my bed, saying he can stay for a while as he's on break. I scroll through Connor's contacts until I find Gabby's. I click on the facetime sign and wait as it connects. It rings a few times before her face appears on the screen. Her face instantly lights up when she sees it's me.
"Riley!!" She practically screams, gaining the attention of those around her. I hear her tell someone to go get squad as everyone moves into the meeting room. When everyone arrives, they all start questioning me.
"How are you feeling?" Gabby asks me.
"Like I've been hit by a truck. I only just came of the ventilator but I really need to speak to my family" I say, making everyone smile. We sit and talk for a while until they get a call out. It's just as well because I'm getting very tired – probably due to the medications I'm on and the sedation that's still in my system.

"Do you wanna see Chase? We can move you into the same room now that the double room is free" Rhodes says, making myself and Will jump. He chuckles. I hand him his phone and he and Will move me into the other room. They check everything is sorted before going to get Chase. When they wheel him in, I instantly get tears in my eyes. I hate seeing him like this. The sort all his machines out, before pushing my bed next to his and lowering the barriers. I take Chases hand.
"He looks so pale" I say, noticing the tone of his skin.
"That's because of how much blood he lost, but he's stable now and we are giving him blood so it's just a matter of time before he starts to wake up" Rhodes says, standing at the end of my bed. I nod my head, my eyes watery.
"Thank you" I whisper. Will pulls me in for a hug.
"He will be okay Riley, I promise. Both of you will get through this together" He says, making me smile. He leaves after a few minutes, having to go back to work, leaving me and Chases by ourselves. I fall asleep, praying that everything will be okay and that Chase will wake up soon. My last thought before I fall asleep completely is, 'please be okay Chase, I need'.
