Okay Guys so this is a bit of a time skip but I really wanted to kind of start fresh from this point on in the book. Hope you enjoy!

Its been 5 months since little Louie was born and its Gabby's first day back to work. I mean they've spent a lot of time at the firehouse over the last few months, letting Louie get used to his new family. Its 7:00am. Matt and Gabby are due at the firehouse at 08:00am. They both get showered and dressed into their uniforms before working together to get Louie ready. Luckily for them Cindy Hermann loves kids and has agreed to not only look after Ember, (Erin and Jays Daughter), but also look after Louie for them. They pack everything that Louie needs before leaving for the Hermann's.  They arrive at 07: 30. They get Louie out of the car and walk up to the front door, which is open before they even arrive.

They arrive at the firehouse at 07:50, and lets just say that leaving Louie wasn't very easy for Gabby, heck even Matt still finds it hard. They go to the locker room and put away their bags they then walk into the common room where everyone congratulates Gabby on her return. When things settle down ambo 61 gets a call out to Truck 66's firehouse, for a ill firefighter. Riley tags along with Sylvie and Gabby as Chase has a check up appointment.

Chase returned to work a month and half after he was injured. Luckily he hasn't has any long lasting side effectives and fully recovered after 2 months. He still has check-ups due to the severity of his head injury, but hopefully after today he will get the all clear and can return to a normal life.

Ambulance 61 pull up at the firehouse to see Lieutenant Welch waiting for them. They get out and get their equipment. Welch helps them with the gurney and briefs them on the ways, as he leads them to where the firefighter is.

"His name is Dillan Lockwood (made up character), aged 34. He started feeling ill after a call we had earlier. He went to lie down when we got back, after being sick. We told him to rest then go home but when we came to check on him, he had severe pain in his abdomen and is barely responsive." Welch says taking us through to the bunk room. When they arrive they see a very ill man. They go over to his bunk and check his vitals.

"He's tachycardic, and his B/P is very low this could be a ruptured appendix... we need to get him to hospital now before he becomes septic." Gabby says, whilst Sylvie places an IV and pushed fluids and Riley gives him some oxygen. With the help of Welch they get him loaded onto the gurney and they take him out to the ambulance. They get him inside and Sylvie hops in the front and speeds away to Chicago med. 

Across town....

"So Chase, everything checks out here and there's nothing that concern me so I'm discharging you and your clear for full duties (e.g. if he wants to work a squad shift)." Dr Collings says after he finishes examining Chase. He goes to his computer and fills in the necessary paperwork, before printing of 2 copies and handing one to Chase. He places the other one in Chases file before showing Chase out.       "Thanks Doc, for everything" Chase says, shaking the doctors hand.

Chase walks over to his new car and gets in. It took him a few weeks to be able to drive again, without feeling nervous, but now its like nothing happened. He pulls out and head to the firehouse. When he turns the corner, he comes across a huge car accident. Immediately, he parks his car and calls for help, before getting out and grabbing the first aid kit from his boot. He then runs over to the cars and help people. After checking everyone is still alive, he unplugs all the car batteries and stabilises some of the cars as best he can. He hears sirens in the background, but they're ambulance or fire, their police.

Chase looks up and sees it someone from intelligence, he realises its Jay and Erin and runs over to them.                                                                                                                                                              "Erin I need you to close of the road to traffic and Jay I need your help getting some of these people out. I've checked them out and the ones in the red and green car can be moved, the others will have to wait for fire to get them out" They nod and Erin runs off to close the road of. Jay follows me and we manage to get 5 people out before fire turns up. I go over to Casey, Severide and Chief and brief them on what happened.                                                                                                                                                  " I've disabled all the car batteries and have cleared the people in the green and red cars so me and Jay moved them over there" Chase says pointing to the people, now being helped by medics. Ambulance 61 soon arrives on scene and Riley runs over to Chases.                                                                   "I'm okay honestly, I wasn't involved" She hugs him before giving him a quick kiss and running off.         "Chief! If Riley drives my car back to the firehouse, she can come back in 67 and we'd have another ambulance!" Chase says running off to Boden. He nods and Chase goes over and tells Riley. She gets his car keys and drives off.

A few minutes later Riley returns in ambulance 67. Her and Chase load up some patients and drive off to Chicago med. 

Luckily everyone from the crash survived and the ill firefighter, after having emergency surgery, recovered a few weeks later.

Chase and Riley went home at the end of their shift and after ordering some takeout, fell asleep, cuddled up together watching a movie in their room.
