Todays has finally come! The day I finally get discharged from the hospital. I was meant to be discharged a week ago but that didn't go as planned as developed a post op infection...but here I am a week later better and ready to go home. Chase has been by everyday to see me and I'm happy to say that this accident has brought us closer, I mean this isn't one of those relationships where we started of getting to know each other because we've know each other for over 6 years now. We have spent nearly everyday together for the last 6 years, being work partners and all. But weren't just work partners, we were best friends which made us enjoy our work even more. I love being able to spend pretty much all my time with my best friend, but its not because we get along great but because we get to help other people through their best times and through their worst times. Through live and death situation, and sometimes we even get to bring new life into the world.

"Hey you" I say just before I give Chase a quick kiss. "Hey" He says returning the kiss. "Ready to go?" He asks me. You see Chase insisted in taking the next few days off to take care of me even though Dr Rhodes has cleared me to move about. "Yeah..just waiting for Dr Rhodes to stop by with my discharge papers...he got called to the ED for and emergency" I reply, packing my bags. "Okay I'm just going to get a coffee you want one?" I nod and he kisses me before he leaves my room. A few minutes after Chase left Dr Rhodes comes in, "Sorry about the delay, how are you feeling today?" "Its no problem, I'm ready to go home, and before you ask little to no pain, no signs of infection, and no other symptoms.." I say with a little laugh at the end. He looks at me and shakes his head. See me and Dr Rhodes are good friends because I see a lot at the hospital and we all hang out at Molly's, so hes very predicable. "Okay, that all good, now you will have to take these antibiotic tablets twice a day for the next week just to make sure the infection doesn't return. But I'm happy with your recovery so far and your test results are all normal, so you're free to go all you need to do is sign this.." I nod and signs the papers he hands me. I hand them back and he gives me my discharge papers. "Okay so you're free to go, just remember to rest, no heavy lifting for the next few weeks and don't over do it. Also keep an eye out for any sign of a returning infection, but you know what to do. So when your ready you can go. Hopefully see you back at work in a few weeks or so" He says smiling. "Thank you Rhodes, for everything" We hug and then he leaves the room.

Chase returns a few minutes later with coffee. "I'm free!" I say laughing. "Great lets go then!" He says picking up my bags. We leaves the hospital and head for the car. Once in the car we head for home, the place that I've missed the most. By the time we get home I'm exhausted, this is the most exercise/movement I've done in weeks. Me and Chase order take out and spend the evening snuggled up in bed together watching Netflix. It's not long before I fall asleep with Chases arms around. The one thing I've missed the most whilst in hospital is this, being cuddled up to Chase in his arms. The warmth of his body makes me feel safe and secure. I love this and I love Chase. I happy to be getting back to normal. I cant wait until I'm back to complete normality, although normality for anyone is always changing. I just cant wait to be back at work, to be surrounded by my family at 51 and my friends at Molly's.

Okay so I know this chapter is short, but I didn't want to drag out this part of the story, which kinda turned into a 4 chapter piece. I promise the next chapter will be back to normal length and I will update every few days. Thanks for reading x Hope you like whats to come! :)
