Star Pov
I decided to go back to aspen alone and get her side of the story because I don't believe by one guy she turned to this awful person she is today and I could probably get her weak spot as well "Welcome back Princess, Came to say sorry to me for calling me Cold hearted?" I stepped forward and looked straight in her eyes as I could see them water "You loved her..didn't you?"

She gasped and stood up with her face flushed a shade of pink "What?! Nonsense!" I smirked and walked around her "Well, there has to be a really good reason you wanted revenge on the butterfly family? You can tell me I have a lot of time right now" I sat next to her throne and patted for her to sit she looked at me odd

"Why are you suddenly interested in this?" I sigh "My mother keeps secrets from me, and I don't believe she was proper when she was my age?" Aspen giggled and sat down beside me and gave me a small smile "You got that right, she was wasn't well when I met her.."

~Flashback~

We were 7 when she found me outside the castle she lost her ball on the other side of the gate I found it in my yard when I went to reach for it a pair of hands were already holding on..I got lost in her eyes as she had a sweet smile her hair was short and curled up and her face was flushed "Hi"

"Hi..can I get my ball back please?" I nodded and gave her the ball but before she left she grabbed my hand and pulled me to her gardens and I saw her guards and other royal friends..I felt out of place a street girl wearing ripped and dirty clothing and hair a mess the only thing you could see was my mint green eyes..

As the years past by us we were 14 and I actually started falling for her..I never told her because it was rather odd to have a soon to be queen be with another girl..during that time she would bring me along on her dates or whatever but she always paid attention to me as if she lost me then her world would crash..

until one day your father came along of course he wasn't suitable but her mother was deperate for crops and other resources, they hit it off and I barely saw her again..I couldn't deny my feelings for her when she turned 16 which I regretted

"What's going on with you Aspen? Why were acting so rude to river he hasn't done anything wrong?" "Anything wrong?! He covered us in mud and drench us in lake water and we almost died when I'm the carriage he took us on! That's something wrong moon!"

"Sure he's clumsy but he's very sweet and kind just give him a chance" I wiped my face and walked towards her she looked at me and held my cheek and gave me her smile "I don't want to lose you aspen, your my best friend..I love you" "That's all I'll ever be to you just a friend.."

I moved her hands into my own she blushed at the gesture but I know she was probably scared what I might've done "Aspen?" "I love you Moon the way River does to you..I'm sorry" I cut her off before she could speak and gave her a kiss which she pushed me away and wiped her mouth

"Apsen! I don't love you like that..I can't and won't I'm sorry" I felt my heart ache when she said those words it was like a part of me died and I left the castle and did my own thing, started getting into trouble washing away my worries and my heart break..

Months passed and Moon decided to come and look for me..she was alone and needed a friend I was happy she came back to me but she kept her distance at first but I assured her that it's over "I'm sorry about what happened I freaked out in a horrible way..please forgive me " I nodded and pulled her into a tight hug I missed my best friend even if it meant to stay that way..

we were back to our old crazy self getting into trouble with the royal guards and other people until her assistant Toffee told her to knock it off..I never really liked him because he would get me to break with his golden eyes but for noon she just listened to him even if she was a little reckless..Months and years to by and I saw Moon in toffees arms as he he kissed her,

at the time she had told me that her and your father were on break but she lied to me when the next day I saw her strolling around town with him in her arms and I had to tell him the truth but I was stopped by the man himself..he told me to never spill a thing because he didn't want to start a war but she mattered to me too..

I still loved her as it hit her 19th  birthday she was given the crown and the wand at her ceremony I kept an eye out for toffee but I knew I had to get him somehow but I couldn't when I turned 20 I went and saw a wizard to give me powers I had to trade my love for moon for it but I took the chance seeing she will be married by then "Be warned when I say the spell you will not be attracted to the love of your life again only feel pain"

I said yes and got my dark powers and just like he said I didn't love her anymore nor thought of her the same and my appearance changed as well I matured quite well and decided to give her husband to be the letter of the affair..

after I did that I disappeared so she wouldn't find me but she did and was raging with anger I could see it in her eyes she blasted me with the wand but it was painless and pointless it took so much power and energy out of her that she could've died when I told her to kill me she didn't and she couldn't not because she was pregnant

no because of the friendship we once had even though I was way home from being good she gave me a chance to change but I couldn't after you were born your grandmother asked me for help I didn't say no to the once queen "I need you to do me a favor.." "Yes Eclipsa" I was told to start the war well kick start it..

Moon and Toffee were arguing about responibilty in one hand Moon was busy raising you while toffee tried getting moon to let monsters be able to be a royal but things didn't turn out the way it should've..the war lasted for days and your mother was in the front lines while they kept you safe away from it all..

I remembered I came and checked on you..you were a toddler and was asleep in your royal crib I have you a bracelet with a charm with stars and the moon but I guess your mother got rid of it..

~End~

"So years go on and I watched from afar and seeing this made me remeber my past and how much changed.." I looked at her eyes as she looked down at her hands and I held them as she looked at me I have her a smile "I'm sorry that things didn't work out the way it should have" she scoffs an moves away from me and gives me her grin "Its in the past and I don't care..you can go now"

I stood up and gave her a hug she gasp a bit and tense up "What the heck are you doing?!" "A hug..have you not been hugged in years?" I asked confused "No..why would I need a hug get off me! You butterfly always have tricks under your sleeves" I was pushed back and she looked at me as she cleaned herself

"Not all butterfly are the same..I'm sorry for calling you cold hearted when I didn't know the real you" as I walked past her she held my arm "Wait! Um I'm sorry for what I did..I promise I won't do it again.." I smiled "Thanks..bye" I waved and she waved as well and turned her head so she can his her smiling face I giggled as I got home

"Star where were you?" Glossaryck asked and I rolled my eyes "I did what I had to and aspen isn't going to bother us again" he gave me an odd look "What do you mean?" "We talked it out..you never told me she liked mom the way I like Marco?" He chuckles

"Well you didn't need to know that..it was allowed what else has she told you?" "About Toffee..now I know he's bad i still don't understand why I never saw him in the castle unless I was distracted all the time?" I laid back on my bed and held my wand "I'll figure it out somehow.."

A/n been like forever since I updated and this was basically Aspens side of the story I might get Star's mother side the real truth because all we know is Aspen can be a real liar and just played Star or just told her the truth in a honest way..anyways hoped you liked it let me know how it was and as always love you!
