You had finished explaining why you had lied, and they were fine with it. Some even admitted that they would pretend to be someone else.

"Kuro, Kamiya, wait!"

A ferret and a small panther-looking cat ran into the room.

"Oh- really?" Hiyoku walked into the room, now wearing a normal outfit, staring at the Bombay cat and the ferret who were now on top of a cabinet. She sighed. "Oh well." She turned to you. "I have to go to the vet, can you hold down the fort, Y/n?"

You gave her a mock salute. "Sure thing!"

Once Hiyoku left, the bey club turned to you.

"So you've been here this whole time?" Daina asked.

"Yep! It's actually a nice change from my actual home, it was so big that I used to get lost as a kid." You stood up. "Kuro, Kimaya, come on!"

The two animals jumped down from the cabinet and Kuro walked straight towards Daina.

You smiled. "He likes you." You picked up Kamiya. "Hiyoku keeps a lot of animals. She has a few kittens she's picking up from the vet right now."

"So what breed of cat is Kuro?" Daina asked.

"Bombay cat," Hiyoku replies. "One of the smallest and laziest breeds of cat there is." She opened the cage, letting two kittens tumble out. "The one with the grey fur is Silver. The bengal is Cloud." She reaches in and pulled a small grey tabby kitten out. "This is Jay. He's blind, I'm fostering him, but I might adopt him."

You watched as Daina let Jay sniff his hand. "Do you have any other animals?"

"A Komodo Dragon and a husky-shepherd mix."

"You have a dragon?!"

You smiled. "No, Valt, it's a lizard."

"Honestly, what did you think it was? Dragons aren't real," Wakiya said.

You felt weight on your shoulder and realized Shu had fallen asleep. You couldn't blame him, it was getting late. "Hey, Hiyoku."

"What is it?" she asked, looking over. She smiled softly.

"Can-"

"Yes, it's fine if he stays. He's already asleep, anyways."

Shu's POV

I woke up to find myself in a bed. All I could remember was falling asleep at Asame's house.

There was a knock on the door. "Shu, you awake?" came Y/n's voice.

"Yeah," I replied.

"Hiyoku's taking us to school."

"Alright." I had to admit, Y/n's voice is really calming for some reason.

When I get downstairs, Y/n was reading on her phone and Asame was leaning on the doorframe.

"Grab something to eat, let's go." Asame headed out the door.

Y/n handed me a granola bar before grabbing my hand and pulling me out the door. "Come on, we're going to be late! Today's the last day!"

As we were headed to school, Y/n spoke up. "Hiyoku, today's a half day."

"I know. I'll come pick you up."

"Don't you have school?" I asked.

"I dropped out three years ago."

"What? Why?" Y/n asked.

"You know that room I told you not to go in?"

"Yeah."

"That was my sister's room. Three summers ago, there was a fire in my mom's apartment. I got out, but I didn't see her anywhere."

"Oh... I'm sorry for asking."

Asame smiled. "No, it's fine."

Your POV

"Glad to know you're joining the club again," Shu said.

You smiled. "Of course I'd join again! I can't stand not hanging out with you guys!"

Shu blushed slightly. "Come on, the others will be surprised."

"No dip. Even I'm surprised! Not that I don't like it or anything." You opened the door and were almost immediately tackled by two boys.

"Y/n, you're back!"

"About time!"

You grinned at Valt and Rantaro. "You do realize we say each other yesterday?"

"That's what I told 'em."

You looked over at Wakiya and Daina. "Come on, guys, might as well."

You somehow managed to convince them.

Noemie watched from the side, smiling. "It's been strange without you here."

"I couldn't stay away if I tried." You turned to Shu. "You up for a battle?" (Remember Spriggan is already fixed.)

"Sure, why not?"

"I'll be the ref." Rantaro walked up to the stadium.

"3! 2! 1! Go shoot!"

"Go, Skalli!"

"You've got this, Spriggan!"

"Y/n, a scout came by looking for you," Hiyoku said once you climbed in the car.

"What? Which team?"

Hiyoku grinned. "BC Sol!"

"Yes!" you cheered. "Wait, when do I need to leave?"

"Next week," she said. "It gives us enough time to pack and say bye to our friends."

You tilted your head in confusion. "Us?"

"Yeah, we were both scouted."

"You too?!"

Hiyoku laughed at your expression. "Yeah!" She stopped. "But you really need to talk to your parents. It's already been a month."

You sighed and looked out the window, watching the passing scenery. "I know. I'll do it."

Hiyoku smiled softly. "You shouldn't disconnect yourself from your family. I already made that mistake, I don't want you to."

"I guess. We can go now."

She turned down your home street. "Alright, Mira." She covered her mouth. "Sorry. You just really remind me of my sister."

"What was she like?" you asked.

"Well, she was almost exactly like you. Stubborn and determined, but also kind." Stopping the car, she turned to you. "Well, it's now or never. Kinda."

You smiled and jumped out of the car. "Wish me luck!" Yo unlocked the front door and went inside.

"Y/n, where were you?"

You smiled sheepishly. "Sorry, Mom. I was staying at a friend's."

She sighed. "Look, that girl came by earlier and told me that you got scouted. So, I'll let you go."

"Really?!" you exclaimed.

M/n smiled. "I figured I'd let you pursue your passion!"

"You what?!" everyone yelled.

You grinned. "Yep! I got scouted!"

"Which team?" Daina asked.

"It's a surprise."

"Now that you bring it up, I got scouted by a team in New York," Shu said.

Already?

"You too?" Valt asked. "Why is everyone leaving?"

You laughed. "Shu and I aren't everyone." You gestured to Rantaro, Daina, Wakiya, and Kensuke. "They're still here."

"Y/n!"

"Just give me a minute!" You turned to your friends. "I'm gonna miss you guys."

Valt ran and hugged you. (Again)

You smiled and patted his head. "It's not forever, Valt." He let go, and you took your time saying goodbye.

"Shu."

When the albino looked at you, you hugged him.

"Y/n, what-"

"Thank you."

"For what?"

You smiled at him. "You brought me back."

"Come on, we'll be late!"

"Okay, I'm coming!" You quickly kissed Shu on the cheek. "See you next time."
