I jolt upright as if I'd been falling in a dream and when I look around me I realize what happened wasn't a bad dream.

"Miss Dawn, how are you feeling?" Elizabeth Sweet asks

"Like shit" I reply and I don't throw up or get nauseous

"Master Alexander wanted to speak to you when you awoke" she says "please follow me"

"Why the fuck not" I sigh

"Please do try to refrain from any cursing, it would be much appreciated" she says

"Oh shit, sorry. Fuck, sorry. ffffffffffflying butterflies" I take a deep breath "shi-p...ship, this'll be hard"

"It'll take some time to get used to" she says as she leads me through the castle-mansion as if she knows it better than the back of her hand.

"It's hard not to curse when I'm not supposed to curse, you know? Probably not since I'm pretty sure you've always been an angel" I mutter because I've been considered a disappointment to my family so I became just that,

"You are correct I do not know, I have never cursed" she says

"Not even when you get hurt?" I ask

"Not even" she states and I walk into a wall and fall to my ass. "Miss, are you okay?" She rushes to me worried

"I'm alive....or as alive as I can be" I say as I get up with her help and realize that the wall is in fact not a wall but a person, it's a tall woman with pitch black hair pulled back into a tight bun, dark complexion, hazel eyes, and honestly she looks like a goddess and as if she belongs here where as I look like the random puzzle piece from a completely different puzzle.

The woman nods a hello towards Elizabeth Sweet as her eyes flash completely white causing me to stumble back a bit.

I laugh nervously a bit not sure what to make of that whole completely white eyes thing.

"Miss Valentina this is Miss Kathy Dawn" Elizabeth Sweet says and the woman looks me over unimpressed.

"Yes I see the resemblance, pale blond, fair skin, killer eyes" the woman says

"What?" I ask confused

"The Dawns have all had blue eyes that look frozen over and naturally strike fear in some hearts" she says

"Huh, that I did not know, not that I know much since I haven't been able to go to the library and Mister I'm the most important person ever said if I had any questions I'd have to figure it out myself practically" I say

"You do quite remind me of Mrs Abigail" she says

"Who?" I ask and the inhales before she smiles

"No one" she walks away leaving me standing confused

"Okay..." I say a bit weirded out.

"She is a Phoenix and a future tip never offend a Phoenix because they will kill you no matter how sweet and or innocent they look and sound" Elizabeth Sweet says

"Ah, noted" I say as she stands in front of a door

"Please wait here" she says and knocks before she enters and I just stand in the hall awkwardly looking around "Miss Dawn, Master Alexander Knight will see you now"

"Okie dokie" I say and walk into a big office with a desk and an Alexander sitting by the desk.

"Miss Dawn" he states with a slight nod at the chair

"I'm fine with standing" I cross my arms stubbornly, as I keep standing

"I suppose you've recovered then" he says all professional business man and shit

"As well as I can" I say and sure he may have saved my not-life life but he still ended it in the first place so I'm still mad.

"Mrs McMillan will meet you in the library and will show you where everything is" he says

"Is that all?" I ask

"That's all" he states and I roll my eyes before I exit

"Oh look at me I'm Alexander Knight and I'm so hot and rich I can call anyone into my office for no fucking reason except show them how much of a fucking asshole I am" I mutter after I exit

"Please refrain from cursing, miss" the butler says scaring the bejesus out of me.

"How did you get there?" I ask looking around confused

"Please come with me" he says not answering my question

"Did you like speed there or walk through walls or come out of mist?" I ask

"I cannot say, miss" he says

"Sketchy" I mutter suspiciously "so, where are you taking me?"

"The library, miss" he says

"You can call me by my name, Kathy or Kat or Kitty" I say because it's weird being called miss and miss Dawn all the time like I don't have a name except Dawn or like my name is Missy Dawn and they just leave out the Y...the point is it's weird.

"If that's what you prefer miss Kathy Dawn" he says and now I feel like I'm in trouble

"Do you call anyone by their first name?" I ask

"Yes, Master Alexander" he says

"Yea a quick question about him" I say rushing after the butler "does he have any friends? Like are you two pals or is he always alone?" I mean it might explain why he's such an ass but still nice at the same time.

"I cannot say, Miss Kathy Dawn" he says

"Dawn is fine" I say giving up on trying to act like my old self.

"As you wish, miss Dawn" he replies

I know how I was but something about acting like that now doesn't feel right, I feel like I'm more important which makes no sense and is definitely not my old self because I always saw myself as lesser than everyone else and now feeling like this it's weird and I don't know if I should fight it or not.

"Mrs McMillan, this is Miss Kathy Dawn here for Master Alexander's request" the butler says to a tall slender woman with a tight bun pulling back her face and she looks mean, as I'm 100% sure if she were a cartoon she'd be drawn as a snaky character that could snap at any time for no reason.

"Thank you William, I'll take good care of her" I mean she sounds nice.

Her eyes flash bright orangey yellow...if that makes sense

"My name is Anita McMillan but unlike you I'm not an immortal, I'm a witch" she says towering over me and I feel very small and weak in her presence.

"Hi, I'm Kathy Dawn and I'm new to this so I have no idea what is real and what isn't" I say a bit nervous because she looks like a super strict headmistress of a boarding school where they practice medieval types of punishments for disobeying and she's practically a giant, she's probably like 6 feet tall.

"I know, Alexander asked me to tutor you on the basics but I think I might be able to do more than tutor you on the basics of the real world" she says and turns quickly like a military commander before she walks away and I follow a bit behind still waiting for her to snap at me for no reason

"What do you mean?" I ask

"You look and present yourself like a scared kitten that has no pride and no self respect" she says

"I'm not a scared kitten" I mutter

"What was that?" She asks

"Nothin'" I reply quickly and she smiles friendly but it looks like a threat more than a friendly gesture

"Exactly my point" she says

"I'm just confused" I say "I was rushed into all this in one night"

"I believe you and Alexander had a few more encounters than that night" she says taking a sharp turn and I have to jog to keep up but when I turn she's gone

"I swear I'm going crazy" I sigh "if I wake up in the hotel I'm admitting myself into a mental hospital"

I feel my whole body itch like there's an oncoming sneeze in my whole body before Alexander appears out of thin air with a book in his hand and I jump startled.

"If you're methods of teaching mean destroying my books I'd rather find another tutor" he says not acknowledging my existence

"I knew you'd come" The woman says "Your moral code prevents any of your houseguests from getting hurt while they're in your care"

"Then what was your point with throwing a book from 1822 at her?" He asks as if I'm not here

"Kathy, how did you feel before Alexander appeared?" She asks

"Like I was gonna sneeze" I say but she waits so I add more quietly "with my whole body"

"She needs to know what that is, I can teach her" she says

"No" Alexander states placing the book back in its place "the basics will do for now"

"At least let me teach her how to look like she belongs here not like she belongs in a dirty apartment complex that has rats" she says

"You know I can hear you, right?" I ask

"You have a week" he says and walks away

"I only need 4 days" she says and starts walking again

"To do what?" I ask

"Turn you from this to a proper immortal" she says

"Like Alexander?" I ask

"Yes, like him" I grimace at the thought

"A suck up snob?" I ask and she smiles

"You do know he can hear anything you say" she says

"Why would he be listening? I'm sure he has other more important things to do since he's such an important part of the universe" I say obviously making fun of him because I'm mad and a bit scared so making fun of him is my defense mechanism since I'm mad at him and scared of him.

"Because you're amusing" she states

"I'm what?" I ask confused

"You are amusing" she says "you speak what you feel with no sugarcoating and it's been a while since anyone has spoken their mind about him"

"You look like you'd say what's on your mind" I say

"I do but I come of sounding judgmental or scathing whereas you craft your words into a sentence that might anger someone or make them laugh" she says

"It's not what I'm going for but eh who cares?" I shrug

"Yes well enough about that this is the section of the library you are most welcome at, other sections might contain personal matters that are better left in the grave as others are strictly prohibited for reasons you don't need to know" she says seriously

"'Kay" I say

"Now for our lectures" she smiles "please, have a seat" I obey and she takes a few books as I feel like I'm back in high school detention at the library.

After what feel like minutes The butler or William appears out of nowhere.

"So there are really 3 completely immortal beings?" I ask

"2, zombies can be killed but Phoenixes and Pirate can't" she says

"And you could technically curse someone to become a pirate?" I ask interested

"Only sailors since the curse only works on sea and if the only if they've hurt anyone" she says

"And the Bermuda Triangle has the curse stuck on it which is why it's sketchy and has a reputation?" I ask

"Yes, and if a sailor is cursed inside the triangle he, she or they can never leave it no matter how hard they try" she says

"Except if they attach themselves to a human, right?" I ask

"Exactly" she smiles

"Miss Dawn" William says

"Hmm?" I look at him with a question in my eyes

"Master Alexander requests your presence for this evenings dining" he says

"Why?" I ask confused why he'd want me around

"To dine with him, miss" he says

"Yea I got that but why? I'm ether as good as dead or I'm gonna work for him here so why treat me like a guest?" I ask

"Forgive me but I do not know the answer to your questions" he states

"We'll continue at noon tomorrow" McMillan says

"I'll see you then" I say before I follow William out.

Well here's another chapter, it's not a part of the original chapter that's just named 😋 because what else would you name a 23.344 long chapter.

Next chapter will most likely be a few weeks into the future because believe it or not immortal life is just as boring as human life and love interests aren't really in the story so far except Leon that's well...dead, so there isn't much to write about unless y'all want normal chapters with day to day things. I can't promise they'll be fun to read since I find it boring so yea🤷‍♀️
