The auction had started. A group of about thirty people was sitting, analyzing the products that were being auctioned. Most of them were very exclusive collectibles, antiques, jewelery ... that were sold at exorbitant prices. Over a million dollars were paid for a collection of old books. At the moment everything was fine, you just had to place the merchandise on a lighted table. You thought you would attract more attention but you were practically invisible. The public's eyes were fixed on each piece that came out of the boxes, carefully analyzing it. Obviously the auctioneer (that middle-aged man who had hired you) made a small presentation of each item, saying a lot of dates, exotic places that you could hardly recognize.

You had been at the auction for several hours and you had a really hard time keeping your smile on. When would it end? Sleep was taking over you, you were not used to being awake at that time of night . Soon you start seeing blurred , the lights of the place bothered you. You were trying to focus on the $ 10,000 you would earn after that night, they were your only motivation for not closing your eyes. You focused your gaze on the audience, trying to entertain yourself. Most of them were middle-aged gentlemen, fat and with grey hair or completely bald. You were particularly struck by an ugly, horse-faced man. You had a hard time holding back the laughter at the thought of that man, imagining him coming home to his wife and children with the same horse face. It would look like a stable. You bit your tongue to keep from laughing. Why did you always laugh at the most serious moments? You were a lost case. You shook your head and kept looking at the rest of the audience.

There were also several women, some younger than others, all dressed very elegantly. You were sure that any of her necklaces would cost more than your entire apartment. Not all participated in the auction, many simply accompanied their husbands and told them what to buy. Whims of a rich girl. It was starting to bore you, they were all very similar. However, a man caught your attention. He was in the back row and was surprisingly young. He barely looked like a couple of years older than you. How have you not seen it before? He was wearing a black suit and tie and his expression was serious, almost boredom. His blue eyes scanned the room, until he reached you. He had caught you looking at him. However contrary to what you thought, he kept his gaze on you. Those sapphire orbs examined you from top to bottom in an inquisitive way, without shame. For some reason you felt naked, as if your suit and the rest of the people in the room had suddenly disappeared and you were alone. Your legs faltered for a few seconds when that handsome stranger adjusted his tie in front of you, stopping you from paying attention and striking up a conversation with the man next to him. You looked down, embarrassed. It had been very intense. However, a hawk interrupted your reveries. The auctioneer was glaring at you, nodding for you to pull out the next piece. It was a huge porcelain vase.

- Ladies and gentlemen, here is the star of the night, the moment you were all waiting for. This vase from the Hongwu dynasty is in perfect condition ....

You took a break from history class and walked over to the box labeled "FRAGIL" in red. With gloves, you held the vase in order to take it to the table as you had done with the other items. Hopefully it would be the last of the night.

...

It all happened so fast that you were not able to notice until it was too late. You stomped on the carpet, in those gigantic heels the supervisor had given you, twisting your ankle and tripping. The vase slipped from your hands, flying a couple of meters while your face ended up on the ground, before the commotion of the spectators. They were in shock, not because of the blow , but because of the great "CRASH" that rumbled in the room for a few seconds. When you opened your eyes again you could only see a lot of small pieces. The vase was shattered, like all your dreams. You felt that the $ 10,000 were fading in front of you. However, you were not aware of the true severity of the situation.

-You!!!! You filthy whore !!!!! -The auctioneer grabbed you with one arm, getting up and yelling at you- You just broke one of the most valuable vases in the world !!! Tell me how are you going to pay you, bitch ???? Do you have 10 million dollars ???

"..... ten million?" Your almost muffled voice was still processing what had just happened. You had just broken a unique piece in the world, something that was worth millions of dollars. Millions. You felt that a hole swallowed you, that darkness invaded your mind. Not now, dammit. You were on the verge of an anxiety attack, you could only hear screaming, the audience had stirred. You wanted to escape from there, run away but your legs didn't work for you. The security officers were on both sides of the stage, waiting for any aggressive movement to "cut you down."

Answer me bitch !!! -The auctioneer shook you more strongly, with a terrifying expression on his face. His bloodshot eyes locked on you. Not only was there anger in them, they also gave off fear, a lot of fear. You could tell that he was only an intermediary and that surely someone would be up there, someone who, right now, would be very angry. How are you going to pay me ??!

"I ... I don't know ..." You started to cry, panicked.

-I give 10 million for the girl- a voice rose in the crowd, making the rest shut up, including the auctioneer- And what remains of the clear vase.

Your eyes widened. You must have misheard. That man wanted to buy you? .

-I give 15 million- another voice rose in the room. You turned your voice to see who it was and you couldn't help but screech in horror when you realized it was that man with the face of a horse. A nausea invaded your mouth as you feel his eyes look at you with lust. This was not even legal. But ... what could you do? The debt of 10 million for the vase would not disappear out of nowhere. You felt the auctioneer's arms hold you while a security officer gagged you and tied your arms with the help of another. You couldn't move, it was impossible to escape. You closed your eyes, crying even harder. You wanted to wake up from that nightmare. You wanted to get up in bed on that filthy floor and have a glass of milk with cookies for breakfast. You wanted ... you wanted ... your mind was becoming more dispersed ...

-18 million !!!

-Twenty!!

-I give 25 !!!

Several voices bid for you. For those rich men a few million would be worth for a slave . The more you thought about it, the more you wanted to vomit. You felt that you had entered a gangster movie, in those where people and drugs were trafficked like someone who sells sweets.

1 billion dollars - a deep voice prevailed, making the rest be silent. You looked up to meet the same blue eyes, which this time looked at you interested, curious. It didn't give you much confidence but at least it was better than the old pervert.

"Doesn't anyone give more?" The auctioneer, still incredulous at the situation, felt the critical gaze of the rest of the bidders, humiliated by such amount.- Sold to the lord of the suit

You had just been sold.
