Two males were in the raven-haired's room, spending the day together. Soraru was reading a book to his younger brother, who was laying on the bed next to the male as he listened.
There was a peaceful atmosphere around them as the two looked at the book. The redhead's eyes would light up sometimes whenever he got interested or he'd smile. Soraru would occasionally ruffle his hair, making the younger let out a soft giggle.
There was a soft knock on the door, the two looked up as they heard a maid's voice.
"Prince Soraru, Sakata, can you come to the throne room, your parents would like you to be there for a moment."
The two males looked at each other with curious expression. Soraru closed the book and left it on his bed as he got off. Sakata followed suit, grabbing onto the 9 year-old male's arm as they followed the maid to the throne room.
"What do mom and dad want?" The redhead asked the older, who just shrugged.
Sakata kept a curious look on his face as he held onto his brother's arm. The two made it to the throne room, the maid bowed her head and left, and peeked through the door.
They saw four more adults in the room with their parents. Along with the four new people were two kids, one with purple hair and the other with indigo-like hair.
"Ah, you two are here," Aihi said as she spotted at her two sons, "you guys can come in."
Sakata timidly hid behind the raven-haired while Soraru just walked towards his parents with a curious expression.
"Soraru, Sakata, this is Shima and Riku. Say hi to them."
The two princes just waved their hands while the other two waved back. The adults noticed that the four kids seemed tensed around each other.
"You shouldn't be afraid of them, they're princes like you." Reio reassured his sons with a soft smile.
"Prince?" Sakata timidly said, slightly peeking from behind his brother.
"Shima and Riku are princes of the human world." The purple-haired's mother said as she smiled at the two.
"Hu..man wor...ld....?" Sakata cutely tilted his head, not understanding while the raven-haired finally spoke.
"That's the place where Kashi and Lon are from, right?"
Soraru glanced at his parents for confirmation, they just nodded their heads with a smile on their face.
"Yes, in the human world they can't use magic like us, and there aren't any strange creatures either."
"Sounds boring."
"Sakata." Aihi scolded the redhead while the indigo-haired male quietly laughed at the male's comment.
"It is kinda boring," Riku said, "right Shima?" The mentioned male just nodded his head.
"You four can go out and explore the village as a way to get to know each other." Reio said as he patted the raven-haired's head.
"Do I have to show them around?" Soraru childishly whined.
"You still don't enjoy going out," Reio chuckled at his son's laziness before smiling, "Sakata can come with you too."
The redhead immediately perked up as he nodded his head vigorously. He normally wasn't allowed to go out since he was younger and Soraru couldn't watch over him because he had to do things.
"Pwease niichan~?"
The redhead tugged on the raven-haired's sleeves as he spoke to his in a childish, baby voice. Soraru looked at his brother before sighing in defeat.
"Is it safe for just the four of them to walk alone?" Riku's mother asked, concerned about them not having supervision.
"It'll be fine, the people are generous, they always watch over them while they're out." Aihi said as she smiled.
"They must really like the princes." Shima's mother stated, Aihi cover her mouth as she giggled.
"Everyone in the kingdom falls for Sakata's cuteness. Well, have fun you four. Oh, and Soraru make sure to keep a close eye on your brother."
The raven-haired simply nodded his head before grabbing the redhead's hand and leading them out of the castle. Shima and Riku followed behind while the adults continued their conversation.
*******
The walk was silent between the four, Sakata felt awkward around the two new males and just stuck close to the raven-haired.
Riku would occasionally try to bring up a conversation to cut the tense atmosphere, but most of the time it was left in the air. Soraru noticed and joined in to try to help but Shima and Sakata would just nod their head or stay quiet.
"Geez Shima, you're normally more talkative than this." Riku finally said after getting annoyed at the purple-haired's quietness.
"Hey!" Shima glared at the indigo-haired male before looking away and sheepishly laughing, "I just...don't know what to say."
"So what do you guys even do here?" Riku asked the two males.
"Mostly stay in the castle, I sometimes leave to be with my friends." Soraru stated while the redhead pouted.
"I never get to go with you...." Sakata was childishly sulking while the purple-haired tilted his head.
"Why's that?"
"Cause his powers are still a bit unstable and we don't want him to accidentally burn stuff." Soraru said while the redhead sulked even more.
"Your powers are also unstable sometimes."
"I'm older so I can quickly calm it down on my own, but you need someone else to help you control it."
Riku and Shima just laughed at the males' small bickering. They then heard someone shout in annoyance. The four turned to see a cloaked figure run past them and into the crowd. A shop owner was chasing them before stopping.
"That damn brat." The shop owner muttered as he sighed, "my apologies my princes, I hope they didn't bump into you or anything."
"No it's fine." Soraru said as the shop owner rubbed his head in irritation.
"What was that?" Shima asked the owner with an intriguing look on his face, he glanced back at where the figure had gone to.
"Just some little brat that would occasionally steal food from my shop."
"So a thief basically." Riku stated while the shop owner nodded his head.
"Most of the thieves here aren't dangerous, just little kids that are either fooling around or doing it as a prank. But that one is pretty well known around the village, they only really steal food." The shop owner then bowed to them before going back to his shop.
"If they're a thief that's known how come the guards don't do anything?" Sakata asked with a childish innocence.
"Well, the shop owner said they're a little kid so that's probably why they let him go." Riku said while the purple-haired pointed out.
"They're not hurting anyone so they probably aren't that worried about it."
The four continued to walk around the village. Sometimes people would greet them while other times kids would ask the redhead and raven-haired to show off their powers. Sakata would have trouble doing so Soraru would help him. The purple-haired was beginning to talk more, amazed at certain things around them.
"There are other villages and kingdoms around here, you can see some paths around the village that lead to those, but this is the main kingdom." Soraru informed the two as they were walking.
"Oh, cool~"
The four began to feel comfortable around each other and soon the silence was fading away, though Sakata was still quiet around them mostly because, just like the purple-haired, he didn't know what to say really.
The sun was starting to set, and Soraru decided they should go back. As they were chatting they heard a commotion. They looked to see that the same cloaked figure was there, only this time they were struggling to escape from a teen's grasp.
"Hey I caught the little thief. Do I get a reward?" The teen joked while his two friends chuckled.
"Let me go." The cloaked figure quietly said, wincing at the tight hold on his arm.
"What? Going to cry to your mommy? As if you can." The teen laughed while the figure continued to attempt to retract his arm, but no luck.
"Are they really going to bully someone that's younger than them?" Riku said in disbelief while the raven-haired sighed.
Soraru was about to say something before the teen shouted in pain. A burnt mark was on the teen's arm due to an electrical shock. The figure just stared at his hands before looking back at the teen.
"I-I didn't mean to–"
"Oi, you little brat!"
The teen grabbed the figure's cloak and lifted him up, the hoodie falling off, showing the figure's blonde hair. The blonde closed his eyes anticipating a hit, but felt himself fall to the ground with a soft thump. The blonde looked to see the indigo-haired and raven-haired in front of him with the teen on the ground too.
"Don't you think punching him is a bit too much?" Riku said as he crossed his arms.
"He probably didn't mean to hurt you." Soraru said as he glanced at the blonde.
"Oh, so it's okay for a prince to attack their loyal subjects now huh?" The teen remarked as he glared at the raven-haired.
"I just pushed you a bit, you're the one that lost your balance." Soraru quietly mumbled.
The blonde glanced around and noticed that people weren't paying attention to him at the moment. He put his hoodie back on, quickly got up, and ran into the crowd, heading towards the forest. Shima noticed him and decided to run after him.
"E-Eh?" Sakata saw the purple-haired leave, he looked back and forth at his brother before following the purple-haired.
"H-Hey S-Shima w-wait up." Sakata called out to the male, who stopped and looked at him.
"Eh? You're coming with me?"
"Y-You can't just go off on your own. You don't know this area." Sakata stated while the purple-haired rose his eyebrow.
"I know a bit of the forest since I'd come with my parents to visit a friend sometimes."
"B-But you don't know much about the forest."
"But neither do you since you don't go out much."
"W-Well....y-yes....b-but still–!"
They then heard what sounded like someone tripping. Shima and Sakata looked at each other before walking to where the sound came from. They looked down at the bottom of the small hill they were on and saw the cloaked figure laying at the bottom of it.
"Ow." The figure said as he sat up, rubbing his head.
"Are you okay?"
The figure jumped at the sudden voice before looking up at the small hill to see the purple-haired with the redhead peeking from behind.
The blonde was about to get up and run away, but as he was doing so, he winced at the pain in his foot. The blonde lost his balance and fell again to the ground, embarrassed and mumbling to himself at how much he wanted to die at the moment.
"Should we help him?" Sakata asked the purple-haired, who was already on his way down the hill.
"Eh? Of course, why wouldn't we?"
"What if he doesn't want our help?"
"Yeah, listen to the prince." The blonde called out as he sat up again, desperately trying to see if he could get up, though he knew that his sprained ankle wouldn't let him.
Shima just ignored the blonde's statement and walked towards him. The redhead just watched them from atop the hill.
"Can't you just leave...." The blonde said in a monotone voice.
"And leave you alone at the bottom of a hill with a sprained ankle?"
"......"
"I thought so," Shima held his hand towards the blonde, "at least let me help you up."
The blonde just looked to the side, embarrassed but also annoyed at the male's action.
"I can do it myself–"
"Oh, hi niichan."
The two males looked up to see the raven-haired and indigo-haired male appear next to the redhead.
"I was wondering where you guys were," Riku said before noticing the purple-haired and blonde at the bottom, "so can I ask what happened?"
"He fell and sprained his ankle," Shima said, "think we can take him back to the castle?"
"But he's a known thief, wouldn't the guards be mean or threaten him once they see him?" Sakata pointed out before tilting his head in confusion when he saw Soraru shake his head.
"They only know about him with the cloak on, no one's actually seen his face."
"Except for now." The blonde muttered to himself, the purple-haired sheepishly smiled at him.
"I doubt they'd do something you, I mean you're a kid." Shima reassured the blonde, who just looked away.
"Well we can't leave him here," Riku said before heading down to where the other two were, "you probably need help getting him back up here."
"Are you sure this is okay niichan? I feel like people will get mad if they find out...." Sakata timidly said as he wrapped his arm around his brother.
"We'll just see what mom and dad say."
Soraru gave the redhead a reassuring pat on the head, the younger just smiled and nodded his head. The blonde noticed this and looked away with a sorrowful expression.
The four headed back to the castle, Shima helping the blonde with support. The male still just wanted to desperately run away, but he finally accepted that he couldn't at the moment.
"Oh, by the way, what's your name?" Riku asked the blonde, who quietly mumbled.
".....Senra....."
