The room was silent as they were trying to comprehend what was told to them. Hana could only give them a pitied, gentle smile as she watched their expressions. I'd be upset at the idea too...
"Y-You're being serious?" Shima said in disbelief as the pink haired female just nodded her head.
"D-Do you really have to do it...." Mafu quietly asked, "t-there isn't another way?"
"The king and queen decided it would be best if we did this." Hana sadly said, the albino just stared at the ground, a small frown on his face.
"But why that?" Senra asked, Nqrse just gave them a small, sad smile as he spoke.
"It's mostly to make sure no more people find out about you guys."
"But, are we going to forget everything?" Amatsuki questioned, he didn't want to forget about his memories that are precious and dear to him, no one would.
"That's the plan," Hana said, "and it's not just you guys, it's for everyone in the kingdom."
"That'd make sense, I mean you can't easily pick and choose whose memories to erase." Urata stated as Soraru nodded his head in agreement.
"But at the same time, us not knowing would just let them easily take over." Riku said worriedly.
"You'll eventually get your memories back." Yuuto said as he smiled, "it'll just be once you're older."
"But I'm still confused on why we also have to lose them? Wouldn't it be better to just have the kingdom forget?" Kuro asked as she tilted her head.
"It's to make sure you guys don't end up saying anything that could possibly trigger the memories to come back." Nqrse stated.
"So...are we doing it now?" Amatsuki glanced at the others with an uncertain expression.
"I'm going to miss my memories with you guys." Lon said as she sighed.
"Actually, about that...." Hana trailed off as she gave the teal-haired male a side glance.
"You guys should thank me for this," Yuuto said as he grinned, "I'm going to take your memories but I'll let you guys keep some."
"Eh? But didn't you guys just say you were going to take all of them?" Kashitaro rose his eyebrow in confusion.
"I'm giving you time before your memories are taken away to make promises or stuff like that."
"But isn't this something that's urgent?" Urata said, confused at the teal-haired's carefree attitude about it.
"With those small memories that you guys get to keep then you'll be able to find each other again."
"You just want to see what happens when they remember this later on." Hana said in annoyance as the teal-haired giggled.
"Maybe~"
Will he ever stop being so careless? Hana just sighed at the male's personality. She ruffled his hair, causing Yuuto to glare at her in annoyance.
"We'll call you guys again once it's time~" Yuuto waved goodbye to them as he left the room.
"Just so you guys know, we're still going to remember, so we can watch over you guys and make sure nothing bad happens. Once we find the right time, I'll tell that brat to give your memories back." Hana bowed to them before leaving too.
"I'm sure it won't be as bad as it sounds like, you'll probably still find each other and become friends." Nqrse smiled at them and then left, leaving the others on their own.
"So what should the rest of us do?" Mafu asked the remaining others.
Urata just let out a sigh and got up, not even glancing at the redhead or the others as he left the room. The rest stayed silent, not even trying to talk to the green eyed brunette.
"E-Er, now that's four gone....." The albino sheepishly said, the raven-haired let out an annoyed huff.
"Hey Sakata, want to–" Amatsuki cut himself off as he saw the redhead rush out of room.
"The air is so awkward and tense that I feel like I'm suffocating." Kuro stated as the others just sighed.
"M-Maybe this might help them later on in the future...?" Lon uncertainly said, she didn't know what were the right words for the situation.
"I want to say that I can try talking to him, but...." Shima trailed off as he gave the raven-haired an apologetic smile, "....it's understandable why he wouldn't want to be in the same room as Sakata."
"Yeah.....b-but we're not saying that it was exactly Sakata's fault." Lon waved her hands worriedly as Soraru sighed.
"You guys don't need to keep telling me that, I get it."
"Anyways, we can–" Before Shima could finish his sentence, he felt himself get pulled by the arm.
"E-Eh, bye guys!" Senra quickly said as he dragged the confused purple-haired away.
The others just gave each other confused looks before shrugging it off. Lon looked at the half heart-shaped necklace on her neck and smiled.
"Hey, why don't we make promises just like Yuuto said?"
"We should~" Kuro cheerfully agreed to the blonde female's idea.
"Well, then see ya guys later," Riku said as he got up, Kashitaro called out to him.
"Wait, you're leaving?"
"I'm sure you guys wouldn't want others to hear your promises." Riku said as he waved goodbye to them, "plus I'm going to catch up to Shima and Senra."
"Well good luck." Soraru said as the indigo-haired male walked away.
"In that case, let's go Lon~ let's make our promise by the lake~" Kuro grabbed Lon's hand and cheerfully headed towards the place. The blonde female just laughed as they left the four males alone.
"So....what should our promise be?" Mafu looked at the other three, he noticed the red eyed brunette shuffling a bit in his seat which caused him to tilt his head in confusion.
"I-I actually need to tell Kashi something first...." Amatsuki said as he glanced between the two males.
Mafu watched the red eyed brunette for a couple of seconds before getting up and dragging the raven-haired.
"We'll check on Sakata, bye guys."
Mafu left with a tired Soraru, leaving the two brunettes to be the last ones in the room.
"So what did you want to tell me?" Kashitaro looked at Amatsuki before noticing he was blushing.
"E-Eh, w-well, u-um...." Amatsuki kept stuttering and tripping over his words before taking a deep breath, "y-you better not tell the others!"
"S-Sure." Kashitaro awkwardly said, slightly confused about the male's behavior.
"I-I-I....I'm planning on confessing to Soraru!"
"E-Eh?"
Kashitaro felt himself get stabbed in the heart after hearing Amatsuki's words. He likes Soraru.... The brunette mentally punched himself. Of course, I should've seen it by the way he acted.
"I-I just don't know what to say....I mean, it's Soraru."
"......so you want me to help you?"
Kashitaro just kept getting a stab in his heart as he watched the red eyed brunette nod. He shifted his eyes around the room, not wanting to look at Amatsuki's pleading face. I don't want to......but I'd feel terrible for not helping him...
"Why not just make a promise with him?"
"Wow, why didn't I think of that?" Amatsuki sarcastically said, the brunette just rolled his eyes in annoyance.
"Do you want my help or not?" Kashitaro asked, receiving a nod from the male.
"What about the necklace?"
Kashitaro pointed to the necklace around the red eyed brunette's neck. He was slightly curious about it, seeing as the male didn't have it before.
"Oh right!" Amatsuki reached into his pocket and pulled out three more necklaces, "me and Lon went out to buy these, she already gave one to Kuro and told me to give the others to you guys."
"But you forgot to give it to Mafu and Soraru." Kashitaro said in a deadpanned voice, Amatsuki just sheepishly laughed.
"You can give Mafu's his and I'll give Soraru's his." Amatsuki held the sapphire necklace close to his heart with a smile on his face, "and when I do, I-I'll confess!"
Kashitaro could only stare at the red eyed brunette's determined expression with a small, sad smile.
"You'll probably be fine," Kashitaro patted the red eyed brunette's hair and got up, "I wish you good luck."
Amatsuki beamed as he hugged the brunette, "thanks Kashi~ well I'm off to find Soraru~"
Kashitaro just watched the red eyed brunette leave the room. He sighed as he bitterly laughed to himself.
"I'm an idiot..." Kashitaro got up from his spot and began to head out of the room, "guess I should look for Mafu to give him his necklace, might as well make a promise with him too..."
*******
"Sorry to keep you waiting~" Amatsuki playfully said as he approached the raven-haired.
"You're late, as usual." Soraru sighed at the red eyed brunette's sheepish smile.
"www sorry, sorry."
"What is it that you wanted to show me?"
"This!" Amatsuki held out the sapphire necklace towards the male. Soraru stared at it in slight awe.
"...it looks pretty."
"It's for you!"
"Eh? O-Oh, thanks." Soraru was about to grab it before Amatsuki pulled it away.
"I wanna help you put it on~"
The raven-haired just sighed and gave the male a small smile before muttering 'okay'.
"And there! See Soraru, the necklace suits you." Amatsuki smiled while the raven-haired just stared at it.
"Eh? You think so?"
"Yep~ I'm glad Lon let me choose your's."
"......thanks"
"www is Soraru embarrassed~?"
"Oi!"
Amatsuki giggled before sheepishly looking at the ground as he spoke, "hey, the others made a promise with theirs so let's make one too."
"Why?" Soraru rose his eyebrow in confusion.
"I just want to~ can we?"
"Okay then what's our promise?"
Amatsuki sheepishly hugged the raven-haired, who was confused by the sudden action. Soraru felt his face heat up a bit.
"A-Amatsuki?"
"I-I like you....s-so....l-let's promise to...." The red eyed brunette buried his face in the male's chest, "I can't do this....why am I terrible at confessing~"
"You whining about it won't help." Soraru lazily said, the red eyed brunette looked up and just stuck his tongue out, the atmosphere suddenly changed back to being playful.
"You try confessing to someone then."
Soraru rolled his eyes before hugging the male back. He sheepishly looked away, "I....also kinda like you..."
"Kinda?"
"Shut up."
"Www see~ you're even worst then me~"
"Do you want to make the promise or not?"
Amatsuki laughed as he let go of the hug.
"Okay, okay. Let's promise to confess to each other when we meet again."
"That's our promise?"
"Ww yep~"
"But what if you end up forgetting about your feelings?" Soraru asked, "we might not even remember that we liked someone."
"You're always such a downer~ as long as I have this necklace, I won't let my feelings go away." Amatsuki grinned as he held his moon-shaped necklace.
"And what if I don't return them?"
"You said that you'd give me a chance~"
"I always hated your cheeky smile."
"Www anyways, let's hope the others don't find out."
"That's fine, it'd be embarrassing."
"Yep, they won't stop teasing us," Amatsuki then grabbed the raven-haired's hand as he beamed, "let's make the most of our last time together."
A while later Soraru would spot the albino sitting underneath a tree, staring at the necklace around his neck with a troubled look. Mafu glanced at the male upon feeling someone staring at him. He gave the raven-haired a cheerful smile, yet Soraru couldn't help but feel like it seemed forced for some reason.
*******
"So why'd you drag me away?" Shima asked as the blonde sheepishly laughed.
"Well...I just needed to talk to someone to calm me down."
"Eh? Why?"
"I-I'm going to make a promise with Riku!" Senra bashfully said as he blushed a bit, "a-and I'm kinda nervous..."
Shima forced a smile on his face as he laughed.
"You don't need to be nervous, I mean out of everyone else you're the one that Riku seems to enjoy talking to." Shima hoped that the blonde wouldn't notice the hint of jealousy in his voice.
"But he also likes hanging out with you." Senra pointed out, to which Shima just sheepishly laughed.
"Well, I was his only friend back then. He just learned to tolerate me and he's kinda the one made me become friends with Urata."
"Like how you're the one that practically forced me to stay with Soraru and Sakata and not go back to being a thief." Senra playfully said, the purple-haired gave him an annoyed look.
"Hey! I didn't force you!"
"Okay sure, whatever makes you happy."
"Hey!" Shima gave the blonde another annoyed look before playfully smiling, "anyways, you'll be fine. I doubt that anyone would reject your confession~"
Senra blushed a bit at the comment while Shima wished that he didn't say that as he began to feel embarrassed.
"Well, talking to you made me feel better," Senra smiled as he hugged the male, "thanks Shima," and left to find the indigo-haired male.
The purple-haired just waved goodbye, sighing to himself once the blonde was gone from sight. He looked up, only to see Urata sitting on the tree branch.
"Eh? I'm starting to think that Yamadanuki is slightly turning you into a tanuki."
"Oi, shut up."
"What are you even doing up there? And for how long?" Shima rose his eyebrow as he watched the green eyed brunette get down, "also aren't you afraid of heights?"
"Can't you shut up for once," Urata said in annoyance before sighing as he gave the purple-haired a bored look.
"I just needed to be alone, I was starting to suffocate in that room. Also, I felt awkward coming down once I saw you two so I just stayed there."
"Well thanks for eavesdropping." Shima sarcastically said as the short brunette just rolled his eyes.
"Not what I wanted to do."
"Well you ended up doing that."
"I'm surprised you're giving up that quickly," Urata gave the purple-haired a confused look, "aren't you going to regret this?"
"How about we don't talk about this," Shima sighed as he gave the male a fake reassuring smile, "I had no chance anyways so I'm okay."
Urata's expression just turned into a concerned one, worried for the purple-haired.
"What about you?" Shima nervously smiled, "I know bringing it up brings back bad memories, but you're not even going to try to talk to him–"
"He killed my parents." Urata bitterly said before beginning to walk away, "I can't believe you're actually trying to get me to talk to that idiot."
"I-I mean.....y-yeah maybe he kinda did,....b-but we don't exactly know what happened!" The purple-haired said as he followed the green eyed brunette, who was getting irritated at each moment.
Shima didn't even know why he's bothering to try to change the short brunette's mind. No one just easily forgives someone that hurt them. But he felt like they needed to at least talk for a second to understand what happened.
"So you're saying that what I saw, with my own two eyes might I add, wasn't true and that I'm just making things up because I want to?"
"......n-no.....but–!"
"Take your own words for once and stop talking about this." Urata glared at Shima before walking away, leaving the male alone.
Shima just groaned in annoyance as he stared at the sky. I don't know whether to be mad at Sakata or at Urata...actually, I don't even know who is in the right or wrong at the moment.... The purple-haired just sat in the grass as he sighed again. Some prince I am huh....I can't even help my friends....
*******
Sakata was just staring out the window, he looked at the papers sprawled around the room. Some were burned while others ripped. He just awkwardly laughed to himself, my powers got the best of me. He hugged his knees, and buried his face in his arms.
"I'm a monster...."
He then heard someone burst into his room, he jolted and was about to look up to see who it was before he was pulled in a hug.
"E-Eh?" The redhead blinked his eyes before realizing that it was the blonde.
"S-Senra? Are you okay?"
The blonde just nodded his head. Sakata awkwardly sat there as the blonde continued to hug him.
"Did something happen?.....You normally don't just randomly hug people." Sakata was getting a bit concerned at the blonde's unresponsiveness.
"Senra–"
"I hate promises...."
Sakata just tilted his head as Senra finally let go of the hug. The blonde sheepishly smiled as he let out a small laugh.
"S-Sorry, I just wanted to hug you one last time before we forget out memories."
"Eh, why? We'd still have each other." Sakata stated, the blonde nervously laughed.
"Yeah, but at the same time we might get separated. I mean, wouldn't that be a better way to keep us safe?"
"I guess....b-but I don't want to be away from you guys," Sakata exclaimed, "you and niichan are the only ones I have left!"
Senra gave the redhead a confused look, "eh? What about the others?"
"E-Er, well.....I-I just kinda think they might possibly hate me because......" Sakata looked the destroyed drawings and pictures, ".....I'm a terrible person...."
"Don't say that, they don't think so." Senra gave the redhead a small smile, causing him to smile back.
"....well, as long as I have you two by my side then I'll be happy."
"Yeah....." Senra shifted his eyes away as he let out a faint bitter laugh. At least he can look at the bright side.
"Well, I'll go find Shima again," Senra got up and left the redhead's room. I should've known that a low-life like me wasn't suited for royalty...I'm an idiot.
Sakata gave the blonde a worried look as he saw Senra's weak smile slowly turn into a frown. He then spotted the book that he didn't even notice the blonde had at the moment.
"Maybe I should tell niichan later that Senra was upset at something...."
Sakata saw one piece of paper by his foot, he grabbed it and looked at the drawing. He regretted doing so as just looking at the drawing made the negative emotions pour right out again. He grabbed a pencil and scribbled all over a certain part of the drawing. I'm sorry.... small tears landed on the drawing as his hands shook. I really am.
*******
"You guys look even more upset than before." Yuuto commented as Hana sighed.
"And you don't know when to keep your mouth shut. You're just going to make things worse."
"I'm just pointing out the obvious, Kashitaro, Mafu, and Senra look like they've spent the last hour moping. Riku and Sakata look guilty, Urata is just done with everything. Shima looks like he's been trying to help with something yet nothing works. Only Soraru, Amatsuki, Lon and Kuro look happy."
"Do us a favor and shut up." Urata muttered as the teal-haired pouted.
"I take it back, Urata looks like he'll kill anyone that just breathes."
"Can you just...not talk about this anymore...." Sakata quietly said as he scooted closer to the raven-haired.
"Fine, only cause Sakata asked," Yuuto then gave them a slightly concerned look, "but are you sure you guys are okay?"
"Who knew you can show genuine compassion." Nqrse commented, the teal-haired just pouted again.
"I have feelings ya know, unlike a certain pink fairy." Yuuto said as he glanced at Hana with a teasing look.
The pink haired female just sighed as she pinched the bridge of her nose, "just hurry up before I end up smacking you."
"How violent," Yuuto sarcastically said before looking at the others, "welp, say goodbye to your memories."
The teal-haired's red eyes glowed and the others just held their heads at the slight pain before it went away.
"That didn't hurt as much as I thought," Amatsuki said before worriedly looking at the male, "a-are you okay Yuuto?"
"I'm fine," the teal-haired rubbed his head, still feeling the throbbing pain, "I'll just have sis heal it for me."
"Eh? Wait what do you–"
"Anyways~ that's done, now I just have to get ready for the massive headache for when I erase everyone else's memories." Yuuto turned around, "bye guys~"
"Wait, our memories aren't gone yet..." Riku said in confusion, Hana gave them a reassuring smile.
"It'll take time for the effect to happen, they'll be gone by tomorrow." Hana then waved goodbye to them.
"So are we just going to wake up and not remember anything?" Senra uncertainly asked, Nqrse sheepishly rubbed his head.
"In a way yes, but we're going to move you guys to a new home and give you false memories to cover any possible holes."
"It'd be weird to wake up and just suddenly not remember where you came from." Shima pointed out to the three princes.
"Well...I guess this is goodbye guys." Kuro awkwardly said as she gave them one last smile.
"We'll find each other eventually, so we should at least smile." Lon made a smiling gesture with her hands causing the others to laugh a bit.
Soon they left, leaving the three princes alone in their room. Soraru just glanced at the two younger males that were blankly staring at the ground.
"I envy you Soraru...." Senra said as he clenched the book in his hand, staring at it with blank eyes.
"I agree with him niichan...."
"E-Eh? Why?" The raven-haired felt heartbroken seeing his little brothers all upset.
"Out of the three of us only you got to spend your last moments happily."
Senra dropped the book on the ground and flopped on the bed, turning around so he'd be facing the other way.
"I know why Sakata's upset, but what happened to you–"
"Night Soraru."
The raven-haired and redhead noticed that the blonde was now asleep. Soraru looked at the redhead who just shrugged.
"He had been like that for a while but didn't tell me anything."
"And I doubt I'd find out why now."
"You know...I'm kinda happy we're forgetting our memories...." Sakata quietly said as he gave the older a weak smile, "so I don't remember how much I hurt the one I loved...."
Soraru just hugged the redhead as they sat on the bed. They sat in silence before sleep began to take over. The last thought on their mind was how they wished they'd feel happy later on.
The next day they found themselves in an orphanage; no idea of who their parents were, no recognition of each other being brothers, and no longer remembering about their home.
Their memories were gone.
