"Where should we go now? I don't like the feeling being here. What is this place, Drake?"

Said the blonde man, Grayson, the ex-commander of the Empire and a Theif with the hold of the powerful Dragon egg. Lost his wife and son from the betrayal by his old friend back then, now he is wanted, for either be killed or to be captured. He rather not get caught by those two options. For him being somewhere different from the overworld is horrifying, especially being in a dangerous place you shouldn't be in.

"This place is the Limbo, this is far below than the Nether. This is the only way to find Armen and rescue him, this place is where we are going to search for him. We need to act fast."

The hybrid replied, known as the Mage. Knowing the origin of his appearance out of nowhere had been revealed, as an Enderman with a soul of a human. Transforming into a Hybrid, created by the man who been known by the two, Collin. The older brother of one of their friend, Armen, created Drake to keep Armen safe and being by his side. To be his brother so he won't be ever alone without a family.

Ever since Drake encounters a somewhat nightmare ghost at his home, hearing it calls out his name in its raspy voice but recognizing it was Armen. His appearance and how he sounds, it gave him a dark vibe, something happened to him after the battle. Drake thought he is going to be alright after freeing from HIM, one of the diamonds is broken into pieces. Was it because of it? He is not sure but he will soon know the answers on what is going on, but more importantly, is Armen alive? Is he going to be saved for real?

Drake shook his head, question building up in his head that he should not answer them. Just focus, Drake, find Armen and get out.

"Why is that-", before Grayson was about to say anything, Drake cut him out from the screamed.

It was so sudden a painful sting came by as Drake clutched onto his head from the pain. Grayson went over to him, telling him "are you okay?" The pain is still there not going away, he looked up and saw the big red eye staring at them two down.

"T-those eyes. . . This headache is different, I-I see those red eyes appear in my vision when I get headaches."

"Herobrine is the one who gave you those headaches before and yet you still have parts of him in you. Is there something that is trying to get in our way?" Grayson replied.

"I don't know, I don't know what HE is planning right now. . . But we need to get to Armen first now, this place has a limit and we are wasting it."

"Well then come on! Let's go!"

The pain is fading away from Drake, the two ran to find him but this place doesn't have any direction where to go. Avoiding from those floating rectangular shapes around, who knows how many are there in this dimension. Every time they get close to it, a familiar red eye appears, it's closed but slowly opening its eye. Nobody knows what will happens if the eye is fully opened.

Grayson got out his compass but didn't know that being in a different dimension can mess up the directions. The arrows are going left to right, up to down or around, no use for the compass then as he put it away. Everywhere they go looks the same or confusing, hard to see what's out there and where are they stepping on.

"Do you know where are we going?"

"No, I have no idea where are we goin- AAAAAAAAAA!!!"

Grayson stopped and looked behind to find Drake gone, he looked around if there are any signs where did the hybrid go. He went over the spot where he was last seen turns out it was a small hole he fell in. Grayson looked down and saw Drake on the ground, worrying if he's hurt from the fall well he probably is due to the long fall.

"Drake!!! Are you okay?! Can you hear me?! Drake?!", Grayson called out but he suddenly feels like he is being watched. He turned around and what he sees is those rectangular shape behind him with the red eye fully opened. A black hand shot out from the shape as it was about to grab Grayson, he screamed and accidentally fell down the hole. Better than getting killed by an unknown creature in the Limbo.

Drake was knock out for a second until he heard Grayson calling his name. He pushes himself up on his knees sitting up, groaning from fall but he felt no pain, only the impact he felt on his body. He heard the screaming from above, just before he looked up, Grayson fell and crashed onto Drake again is on the ground. Now he definitely felt the pain from that.

"Owwwwww... sorry.", the commander groaned and apologized to Drake.

He replied, "Can you get off of me please, you are crushing me."

Grayson rolled off of Drake and onto the ground face planted, but both slowly got up on their feet.

"I'm not that fat you know."

"But you are crushing me like a boulder." Drake snickered.

Grayson faked gasp and offended from his words, but both laughed out. Drake stopped laughing from seeing something lit up from afar, it's small and is floating. Drake stops Grayson laughing and directing him where he's looking, the little ball flew towards them turns out it's a Sprite from the Magical Library. Its brightness glows lighting the darkness, the two have no idea how it got here or why is it here.

The Sprite flew around them and the went off somewhere, it stops and flew in a circle as it tries to communicate with Drake and Grayson. The two look at each other confused until Grayson spoke up, "Are you helping us?"

It moves up and down, guess that would make a yes.

"Do you know who are we looking for? He's one of our friend who's been...possessed by HIM...if you do know who he is then can you help us?", said Drake.

It again flew in a circle again and then left, still could be seen Drake and Grayson ran following the little Sprite. Catching up the little ball, its lights helps them see the ground and a couple of holes that lead to another layer of the ground. Or an island, who knows.

The Sprite flew downwards which is off the island onto the other land since they knew they won't get hurt from falling they jumped. Landing on the other land and continued to follow the Sprite, passing by the rectangular shape with the eye that, looking at the two passing by. Jumping down from layer to layer and all they do is running, they don't feel exhausted at all for the long run.

Drake doesn't know how much time they have left, he feels like they won't able to find Armen in time and they'll be stuck here. Forever unless someone comes in the dimension.

"Drake..."

The two stopped and looked around, even the Sprite stopped and went to them. Drake kept looking around from behind, front, side to side, and up top. But he is not going to look up again since the eye is still looking down.

"Armen?!", Drake called out the boy's name but no reply. He then again yells out his name and yet no reply.

"Grayson, you heard that too right???"

"I did but he's nowhere we could see him.", he replied.

"Grayson."

Grayson heard Armen's voice and turned around only to find nothing, it sounded like he was by his side. Drake is getting confused on what's happening, if only he learns more about the Limbo before saving Armen but he wanted to save him badly.

"Uh, ladies first!"

"Oh wha- hmm!"

"What is going on?"

"We just came out from the Infirmary, we wanted to thank you for your hospitality."

"I haven't taken care of anyone."

"Are these... memories from Armen?"

"He dropped a bowl, that's funny."

"Yea it sounded like it, I remember. Since 4 years..."

"Screw it! I have enough of this!!!"

"Armen!!!"

"Armen no!!!"

Drake shooked his head, hearing these words made him see it again, Armen killing Herobrine but as well he fell to his death. It hurt him so much, he doesn't know what to do but keep moving on and survive out the wilderness. All he wanted is Armen back, alive and okay. That's it.

"You can't save me, Drake..."

"No, not as long as I can try to save you..."

The Sprite flew by Drake's face made him snap out from his thoughts, it flew around them to get their attention. Once it did it flew off, knowing what is it trying to tell they followed behind catching up. While the voices continue, something about Armen's memories doesn't make sense for the two, why so suddenly?

As it continues, Drake then again got a headache stopping him running, the Sprite and Grayson noticed and went back to Drake. But Grayson as well got a headache, clutching onto his head from the pain. "Why am I getting this headache all of a sudden?!"

The pain faded away, Grayson is confused from what happened; Drake was the only one who has been getting headaches 3 months ago. Now he is getting them now just like 4 years ago, it is the memories that are giving it to them.

"One shall suffer, then the others will be in great pain and sadness..."

The book from Ironmere, it's what it exactly says but that already happened unless it still continues. They both lost their friends and Grayson lost his family, what else is gonna hurt them? Drake screamed out in pain, on his knees and his head on the ground clutching onto his head. Grayson went up to him, he doesn't know what to do but wait for the headache to calm down or give him water or Health potion to ease his pain.

"You must choose Death or Internal Punishment. If you choose Death now, your friend shall suffer forever but if you choose Life torture, your friend may die now and never suffer."

"Herobrine, I choose Internal Punishment."

Grayson's eyes widen and heard a familiar voice, Drake's young voice responding to Herobrine. It couldn't be Drake it is, he thoughted but it's for sure its Drake.

"Drake, that wasn't you was it?"

He didn't respond, he just gasping from the headache, it must've gone away.

"Drake, don't tell me you just made a deal with Herobrine. Did you?!"

Drake didn't bother to look at Grayson but he nodded slowly, "I didn't have no choice, if I did choose the other option then Armen would've suffered. He doesn't deserve this but seeing him suffer in my dream, for god knows that is a damn lie. Armen suffered because of me! I should've saved him!"

He starts to cry, tears forming from his eyes and fell. Grayson responded.

"Drake this is not your fault! No one is. He's a demon that we all should know of, they play dirty tricks and of course, they will lie. I think HE knows we are trying to save Armen, maybe that's why he making Armen suffer more. To make you blame yourself.

We need to find him now, Drake, and together we will end Herobrine for good!"

Drake wiped his tears away, looking at Grayson who is giving him a smile to give him hope. He doesn't know what they will do after they did find him, but minds went off when he suddenly feels strange. Like someone is here besides them. Drake got up and looked around, the aura felt like it was close so he took off running, Grayson not knowing what's up with him following behind. Grayson kept calling out his name and asking him a question about his behavior changed.

Drake slowed down as he got to the edge of another island, looking g down and around he thought he saw a figure down at the bottom. He couldn't tell who is it, Grayson finally caught up with Drake as he pointed the direction where he is looking at. Grayson took off his backpack and out with the binocular, using it he gasp alerting Drake.

"Its Armen! He's down there!"

Grayson giving the binocular to Drake, he looked through it and now sees the familiar person. It made his relief that he is alive but something about him doesn't feel right, he's walking slowly or limping away from them. His clothes are burned and stained with blood and specks of dirt and have small holes on them. His raven hair is messy and has a few bits of cuts on his body. Drake called out Armen's name even Grayson joins in, calling out loud hopefully he will hear them, luckily he did hear them. Armen stopped and slowly turned around looking where they are at, his hairs are covering his eyes but you can clearly see the condition he is in. Not good and needed to get out fast.

"Armen! We are coming, just stay there!"

Drake and Grayson jumped down and landed on their feet, the moment they were about to head to Armen they noticed there are rectangular shapes by  Armen side. The red eyes appear and slowly opening its eyes. Without thinking they ran towards then, Grayson gets out his Andruin sword and Drake summoning fireballs firing at the eyes.

It hit them but not that much damage onto it, nightmares came out from it and straight towards the two as well shooting at them with fireballs. Drake took out his sword and swung hitting the fireballs back and hitting one of the nightmares, same with Grayson doing the same thing. The eyes are completely opened then a hands came out and are about to grab Armen as he stands there like nothing.

"Drake, teleport to him now!!!"

Drake listened and immediately cast his teleportation spells, disappeared then reappeared pushing Armen out of the way before the hands smashing onto the ground. Out of the eyes range, Drake got Armen up and looked at him. He moved his hair away from his eyes and it got him scared from what he is seeing, Armen's eyes are not that fully colored blue sky. The blue eyes are faded with grey tints, looking like he is dead or without a soul. He looked tired and exhausted.

"Armen? Hey, are you okay?! Armen, it's me Drake and Grayson is here too! Armen!?"

No reply.

Grayson swung his sword at the eyes as it turned into dust fading away, the material that made the Fiery sword is powerful. Grayson ran to them and looked at Armen too, with a worried face.

"What's wrong with him??"

"I don't know but this dimension has to be something that is messing with him. We need to get out now!"

Grayson nodded but got the feeling of being watched now and it gave him the bad vibe of it. While Drake is putting Armen on his back carrying him, Grayson turned around and saw the familiar white eyes. Gasping caught Drake's attention, he looked at the direction as his eyes widen.

Herobrine standing with nightmares by his side, summoning fireballs and fired at the three they jumped out of the way and started running. HE followed behind along with the nightmares, running and running, the Sprite appeared out of nowhere and went in front of Drake and Grayson.

"What the- where did you go?!"

Said the hybrid, but for sure it is no time to ask questions. Following the Sprite, again they jumped down, down and down. Holding Armen in place not letting him fall while Grayson takes care of the nightmares and its fireballs by hitting it back. Turning back and hit the fireball, again and again, Herobrine appears out of nowhere in front of Drake but he used his magic sending a fireball at him. More and more heading at their direction, Drake cast a spell that made the ground go up forming a wall that blocks the attack.

"How close are we?!"

"I'm not sure, Grayson! But if we see something that acts like a sea, we jump in it then we'll be back in the overworld!"

"Okay I'm not sure how that works but we'll go with that."

Running

Running

Running

And

Running

It's all they did and for sure they are getting tired now, Drake felt Armen moved on his back. Armen moved his arm up and pointed to where they are heading.

"W-we a-re c-close..."

His voice sounded so raspy and exhausted, Drake then again cast his spelled and teleported both farther. Appearing and continued to run he then sees something off the distance, they used up all their energy to run faster and then without hesitation they jumped into the dark black sea.

Everything went white.

It's silent.

The bright white light faded away and from what they see is a bright blue sky and the sun shining down. Drake slowly got up groaning in pain, sore arms, and legs, same with Grayson. Blocking the sunlight with his hands Drake looked around to find themselves in a new location, not at the same place where they enter the portal. He heard a barking sound off in the distance, looking where is coming from a furry little friend running up to them then crash onto Grayson. Licking on his face Grayson laughed it off and petting it, made Drake chuckled but not forgetting Armen.

Getting up and looked for Armen not really far off, he went up to his body and moved him onto his back. His eyes are closed and are breathing heavily, Drake shakes his body and called out his name telling him to wake up. Grayson joined in on the other side of Armen and Drake, the dog went up to Armen and licked his face that made him wince. He coughed and groan.

Slowly getting up with help from Drake and Grayson as he sat up, rubbing and opening his eyes he looked around his surroundings. Noticing the two, he looked at them confused.

"Armen, are you alright?"

Said Drake, no response from him when he looked at him until he opened his mouth.

"W-who are you?"

"What?!"

"Armen is us, Drake and Grayson! Don't you remember us? We're your friends! Please tell me you're joking, right?"

Armen looked at them both and shook his head, he's still confused.

"I don't know any of you people, I didn't know I had friends... And clearly, I'm not joking around."

Grayson looked at Drake seeing him worried but he kept his cool down, Armen doesn't remember us...?

Drake reach his hand out, Armen looked and grabbed his hand, he pulled him up on his feet. Standing he was taking a few steps but loses his balance, Grayson caught him and helped him balance his walking. Once he did, he looked around not walking away from the two, "Where are we?", he asked.

Grayson answered, "The Badlands, this place is not very safe wherever you go unless you know how to survive alone or with someone."

"Oh."

As Armen walked around for a bit not leaving the two alone, Drake looked down feeling devastated. "Something not right, there's no way Armen can't remember us.", said Drake.

"I'm just confused as you are Drake, but do you think it's the Limbo that made him like this."

Drake shook his head, declining it wouldn't be the dimension they were at. He went quiet and went over his thoughts, trying to think what made Armen like this and how he doesn't remember a thing. He remembers back at the Magical Library when Drake used Grayson's sword to destroy one of the Sacred Diamonds. The way Armen faded when they defeated Herobrine looks horrible, he turned into a nightmare and left the scene.

He doesn't want to remember that again, it just made him feel guilty that they didn't save him the way he thinks. Then again it happens again, they save Armen but he doesn't remember anything or his friends.

"Do you think it could've been the diamonds? It did make HIM powerful when those are around but since I destroyed one of it, it made HIM weak and left." Drake asked.

"The diamond made him lost his memories? I'm not sure, Drake. But hey, we got Armen out of there, even though he doesn't remember anything then we can tell him the whole story. Maybe that'll work."

"You are probably right, let's go and find somewhere to rest for the night."

Grayson nodded, taking out his backpack and getting his maps and compass, Drake went to Armen and told him. The commander called out their names then and lead the path, the two followed behind. The sunset as the sky turns colors, the night is approaching and it is dangerous for the three to be out there. Even when the young boy is weak to fight and confused.

The boy stopped his tracks and turned around, he felt like he was being watched giving him the chill. He looked through the forest, just darkness filling in, once he looked at the trees he swears he saw something up there. Something terrifying he felt like he saw it before. His mind was interrupted when Drake called his name, looking at him then back to where he was looking. Something that he saw disappeared.

"Armen? Are you alright?"

"Y-yea...I'm fine. Let's keep going." Armen replied.

Drake shrugged it off and waited till Armen passed by him. The two catches up to Grayson and continue walking in the path. It wasn't what Drake wanted but he is glad that Armen is alive, again. He shouldn't deserve this. Not far off, a village appears to be in ruin, but it is a place to stay for the night.

Is it better for Armen to know everything, including his past?

I know Shadow of Herobrine is not cannon no more and since I made an old oneshot long ago, I wanted to try to remake it. Honestly, it's fun to make the Haunted related story again and I might try to make more content for the series. I miss this series.
