Epilogue - Travis & Katelyn
Clover bounces around the room like the bubbly toddler she is, wobbling on her little feet and playing with small trinkets and toys. Katelyn remains on the couch watching her green eyed daughter with glee, trying to hide her dampened cheeks.
She flashes a weak smile while going to meet Clover, joining into her fun as best as possible without bursting into tears. Clover notices the sadness within her mother's eyes, crawling over to hug her abdomen. Pang sprung through her body, only a new constant reminder of her ovarian cancer, eating away at her reproductive system.
At first, Katelyn and Travis predicted they were conceiving yet another time; the nausea, bloating, and little cramps scattered throughout the day as a dead giveaway. The married couple were both overwhelmed with joy, ecstatic that they could be parents of two children, let alone one perfect daughter already.
But, happy things sometimes have to come to an end. Katelyn wanted to verify the pregnancy, wanting a tangible item to show the results. To her dismay, the test read "Not Pregnant". Confused, she took another. And another, and another, ending with her in a heap of tissues and in Travis' gentle arms.
She knew something was up. She knew something, anything was happening. Travis thought it was just the sudden shock of news- the loss of appetite, a growing lump in her abdomen, fatigue... But it just didn't add up.
That's when they needed to see a doctor for help. That doctor immediately recommended her to an Ovarian Cyst Specialist. Katelyn was knowledgeable on the subject of cysts, going through that training to become a PE and Health teacher before a stay at home mother. It wasn't a big deal; easily treatable. But, not this case in particular.
She was diagnosed with Ovarian Cancer two days prior to the current date, and she couldn't get it out of her mind. She had a family, a loving husband she met by mistake, a beautiful toddler...
They had yet to tell Clover, scared that she wouldn't comprehend it anyway. Not understand that some of the best people get plucked away in life. Someday figuring out why she was so stupid, even though she was only a mere three year old. It made the parents skeptical, deciding to play it all by year. Even if the constant bawling was a dead giveaway.
The door opened a crack as Clover and Katelyn remained in a hug, the bluenette and snow white hair colliding in a tight embrace. Travis' tired eyes and dazed expression entered the picture, about to mutter the usual "I'm home". Luckily, his face changed drastically seeing this, his wife of three years and daughter in a bond that couldn't be broken. He joined his family on the ground, the three of them silent.
"Katey..." Travis mumbled in a barely audible whisper. None of their faces were dry at this point, silently weeping and mourning for the future ahead of them.
"Y-Y-Yes?" Katelyn muttered, picking up their confused child and placing her inside their lap. Travis and Katelyn's arms locked while Katelyn leaned a head on Travis' work attire.
"We will get through this, no matter how hard it is. I mean, look at us now," Travis choked out, letting down a large gulp before continuing, "You raised all of your brothers to be fine young men, all living in a beautiful home together, we met online, fell in love by mistake... And now we're married. As much as I don't want you to leave, nor even think ab-"
Travis and Katelyn both broke into a sobbing mess, Clover sitting as still as possible throughout the process. Out of nowhere, she stood up and looked at her parents, realizing something was wrong to make them this emotional in a short period of time. She couldn't think of a way to fix it, not even knowing the story behind all their grief and despair, but she knew something they always adored, cheering them up during the ups and downs of life.
She wrapped her stubbly arms as much around her mom and dad as possible, and she smiled. She beamed as if it was the best day ever, as if she received a boatload of bright candy and colorful toys.
As if...
Remaining in a smile she spoke above both of her parent's stress and despondency, "I love you."
Startled, Travis and Katelyn looked up at their brave, outspoken child, a proud as parents can be. And you know what happened next? They started to smile. The smirks turned into giggles as if the family had no cares in the world. As if their shedded tears didn't faze them, like all they were doing was brushing off the dirt. As if cancer wasn't circling in Katelyn's body.
As if...
Almost by cue, the couple responded to their only child in unison, bubbling tears, bright smiles and all,
"We love you too."
As if their world was already falling to pieces, their family couldn't be broken. As if they had smaller struggles in the past, they always knew they would come out on top. As if deadly disease wasn't controlling their lives, just a smile solved all the problems in the world.
As if...

Awe. I love Travlyn. This is the last epilogue by yours truly. And I absolutely loved writing the book with Tara. <3 If I convince her, I might ask that we make a last LAST chapter saying thanks and stuff, but we'll see.
If not, I really hope you enjoyed the book and the storyline. Sorry if you didn't agree with some of the choices made, but they were all decided at the very beginning. (Except for the epilogues... Heh.)
Stay tuned for more projects coming your way on this account and some new one shots now that this is coming to a close~~! (also... our fellow writer Minecraft_diaries chose the name Clover, so thank her for that masterpiece :P)
