Chapter 2 - Travis's POV
"No, Gene, I refuse," I said to him, still focused on my computer screen. The animatic figures walked around in the Mineplex lobby, waiting for the game of 'Dragons' to start. My own figure ran around amongst the mass of players, but I soon found my screen darkened. I looked away, finding Gene holding a cable from the computer's monitor in his hand. "Gene, are you kidding me? Now I have to restart everything!"
"Too bad. You can do that tomorrow. You are going to that party," Gene said, throwing the cable onto my desk.
"Why should I go?" I stood up, taking the cable and beginning to hook it back into the monitor.
"I have my own... personal reasons. But if you don't come, I'll do more than just take a cable from your computer."
I stopped to glare at him, "Your threats don't scare me."
"They aren't meant to scare you. They're meant to convince you. Hmm... I wonder what would happen if I cut a wire inside of this baby," He reached for my scissors, his hand centimeters away when I finally gave in.
"F-Fine! I-I'll go!"
"Wonderful," he smirked, "Best look your best for the ladies." He strutted to his own desk, leaving me to groan internally as I climbed the ladder up to my bed. I threw myself onto my back and stared at the roof for what seemed like hours. When I leant up, my head barely brushing the ceiling, I could see the sunset on the horizon through the window.
I soon arrived with Gene and his "gang" at the fraternity home of Delta Kappa Epsilon. Music and voices were booming from inside.
Once stepping inside, I wished I hadn't come. Men and women dancing drunkenly and snogging on sofas almost made me wish I would drop dead then and there.
"C'mon, Tony, have a drink," Gene said, handing me a beer bottle, then following his gang to the dance floor where they began to dance with random women. I began to drink the beer, going over to the corner where there weren't many people.
I decided that maybe I could drown out the party with the alcohol, eventually finishing off my third beer, halfway through another when I finally lost control of myself.
I didn't remember what happened next, it all seemed like a hazy memory. An illusion almost. But I knew that it was reality when I found myself laying in the bed of a stranger, a female with powder blue hair naked beside me, her back facing me.
I sat up, panicking as I realized I had a drunk one-night stand. I climbed off of the bed and searched for my clothes, halfway through dressing when the woman in the bed stirred awake, soon sitting up herself.
She didn't seem to realize I was there for a few moments until her eyes widened. She saw that I was half-naked, herself fully undressed, and nearly screamed at me, "W-Who the hell are you?!"
"I-I'm nobody," I stuttered, "I-I woke up here, w-with you!"
"Liar!" She hissed, her fingers tightening around the sheets which she was holding to her chest, covering herself up. Her face eased, her jaw hanging open as I guessed she realized that I wasn't lying, instead I was speaking truth, "O-Oh my Irene... did we do it?"
"I-I think so. Let's just never speak about this again, okay?" After getting her agreement, I finished dressing and left her apartment, my hand pressed to my forehead as the hangover was still in my system.
