Chapter 1 - Dante's POV
As we all disconnected from the chatroom, I sat up and went over to my window. I sat down on my window seat and sighed. Suddenly, I got a message.
From: Gene
Bro, you up?
I rolled my eyes yet replied anyways.
Me: What is it?!
Gene: Geez. Don't need to be so cranky, little bro.
Me: -.-' Again. What is it?
Gene: Nothing. Just making sure you're alright.
Me: Why wouldn't I be?
Gene: No, it's just that is your first year ever since you moved out. Can a guy not worry 'bout his little bro?
Me: I guess you have a point.
Gene: Well, that's all for today. Bye :p
Me: Bye.
I swear, sometimes the way he says goodbye makes him sound like a youtuber. Anyways, I sat up from the window seat and back on my computer. I logged on to Minecraft and started playing. As I played, I was lost in my train of thought.
I wonder what the others are doing right now? Are they sleeping? Probably. Are they nice people? I'm pretty sure. Are they weird? Definitely. Nonetheless, I wonder who they are. Have I met them before? Is it dangerous to be talking to people I don't know? I guess we'll find out sooner or later or maybe never.
Anyways, as I was building something my doorbell rang. I wonder who could be at the door at this hour? I thought. I walked out of my room, and went to the front door. I opened it, to see Gene.
"So this is why you asked me if I was up." I said, angrily. "Why didn't you tell me you were coming over?"
"Because that would ruin the term called, a 'surprise'." He said, as he air quoted with his fingers. "So, wanna know the real reason I came here?"
"Of course." I crossed my arms.
"Well, there's this party in Phoenix Drop, and I was wondering if you wanted to go." He said, as he shrugged and put his hands in his pockets. "It can be sort of a 'welcome to the real world, kiddo' party for you."
"And you just had to tell me," I looked at my watch. "at 1am in the morning?!"
"Hey," He put his hands up in surrender. "To be fair, I wouldn't have arrived if you were sleeping."
"Fine. I guess you have a point."
"Yes!" He flailed his arms around in surprise. "He forgives, and forgets!"
I slapped my forehead in annoyance. "What a dingus." I muttered.
"I heard that!" He pointed at me.
"You were supposed to!" I responded. I then turned my back to him and slammed the door in his face. When I looked back, I locked the door before he could barge in. With that, I went back to my room.
I turned off the computer and sighed. I went to my bed, and tried to sleep, yet failed miserably as the dingus at my front door was knocking loudly. This was gonna be a long night. I thought.
