Act. IX
Tears blocked her vision as she tried to determine the figure in front of her,"Kazuki!" (Y/n) screeched happily screamed out as she tackled him in a hug, "What are you doing here?!"
Kazuki paid her no mind as he pulled her behind him, shield her away from the attackers. His fists up ready for combat.
"Aw look it's her prince charming!" One of the men snickered only to get pelted by a basketball in the face by the teen boy, "Although no one said that a male was going to join the party, we better get paid more for this."
"Actually I'm her knight in shining armor." Kazuki gave a witty remark before the attackers attacked him at once.
(Y/n) shivered in fear before she ran out of the alleyway and to the corner before she pulled out her phone and tapping the emergency number. Waiting for the call to be picked up the girl prayed that her friend would remain safe and after she'd contact the police she would help him, at least she would try to.
Kazuki let out a sigh of relief when he noticed that (Y/n) left the fight and trusted her to find help. With one hit Kazuki was knocked to the floor by one of the men who laughed in relief. Without hesitation the male went to kick Kazuki while on the floor only for Kazuki to turn over and jumping back on his feet in a split moment. Pulling his fist back he had his other hand grab the assailants collar and slammed his face into his face making a uneasy crack reverberate through the alleyway. Successfully knocking out the one male and seeing the other one on the floor in pain the other males grew angry only to hear the sound of sirens quickly making their way to their destination. The remaining men growled before ditching their once team mates on the floor and scattered like rats before the cops were able to catch them.
"Kazuki!" A yell knocked him out of Kazuki's daze he found himself in as he watched the men run away. Within a second his breath was knocked out as he was suddenly embraced in a warmth that the cold air didn't provide, "Kazuki are you okay? How'd you get here? Not that I'm not glad."
Shaking his black highlighted locks everywhere he looked over the girl. Determining that she only had minor injuries he rested his hands on her shoulders and looked at her before he decided to answer her question.
"I just got done practicing at the basketball court, I decided to stay later and I'm glad I did." Kazuki said with relief while brushing some dirt off her face, "Are you okay? What happened?
The girl shook her head frantically as she now realized she was shaking, "I-I don't know. I mean I was walking home from the grocery store and then.."
Kazuki didn't need to hear more to understand what happened, of course a moron could figure it out. His eyebrows furrowed as he hugged the shaking girl in his arms, "It's okay it's over now."
Within another minute the cops arrived at their destination and quickly took both teens in for questioning that night, as well as taking the suspects and calling the teens parents to inform them what had just occurred that night. The car ride was seemingly short as the police department wasn't that far from where the two were found at, and for obvious reasons the teens were placed in a different cruiser than the attackers.
Sitting on the bench in lobby of the police station (Y/n) waited for the police to finish questioning Kazuki and to move onto her. She couldn't believe situation that just happened and quite frankly she never thought that her safe hometown could bring any darkness in people, but then again the news did say that the yakuza were slowly conquering over the land. A loud yelp pulled the girl out of her thoughts and caused her to look up towards family of blonde hair and her own parents and little sister.
"Sissy!" Mizuki screamed with tears in her eyes as she tackled the girl who had just stood up back onto the bench, "I don't know what happened, but mommy and daddy were sad so I worry too!"
Chuckling softly (Y/n) smiled at her sister and pulled her closer, not strong enough to really say anything, and before she knew it the girl was tackled with two other hugs.
"Where's Kazuki?" One of the adults asked, relieved that (Y/n) was okay, their eyes surveyed the lobby.
"Oh God (Y/n) are you okay?" Mimi's voice chirped with worry once (Y/n)'s family were ushered off of their daughter and sister.
The girl could do nothing but nod with a exhausted expression spread across her face, "They took Kazuki in for questioning from the incident. I'm sure after they're done you'll be able to go home."
Mrs. Tachibana smiled at the girl and sat in a nearby seat with her husband following in suit. Given another moment the door that lead to the cops office area opened which made everyone look towards the door in curiosity. Emerging from the slightly rusted door was the basketball player with a small smile on his face once he saw everyone in the lobby waiting for him.
"Ms. (L/n), may we ask you some questions now?" One of the cops who arrived on the scene asked nicely as he peaked out the door.
Nodding, the girl stood up with shaky legs before heading towards the door and away from the worried glances from her friends and family. Closing the door behind her (Y/n) followed the male in front of her until he stopped at what she assumed to be his desk which was cluttered with various paperwork and pens. (Y/n) felt a little guilty for the police officers who had to take their time out of trying to find the killers of the two girls and help her. The officer gestured her to sit down on a nice cushioned seat that sat across his desk and without a second the girl sat down in the seat and placed her hands on her lap while she had them play with the other.
"Now Ms. (L/n), are you comfortable right now to answer some questions ?" The officer asked which earned the girls attention as she looked in the officers brown eyes.
Nodding the girl then added a soft 'yes' while looking down at his name badge, "Yes Mr. Narita.."
The officer nodded his head in acknowledgment before continuing the interview, "Now can you tell me what happened this evening?"
(Y/n) was slightly annoyed with having to repeat the story of her attack, but she knew that the officers did need this information. With a small sigh the girl began to speak, "My mother needed some leeks for tonight's dinner so I offered to go to the grocery store and grab them for her."
The male named Narita nodded as he began documenting on his computer what the teen was saying and urged her to continue, "After buying the leeks I began walking home and before I knew it I was grabbed by rough hands and yanked into the alleyway where five men took turns talking to me and hinting that they were going to...."
Narita nodded his head as he kept typing, silently telling her that he understood what the groups motive was.
"Well, before they could actually do anything Kazuki, my friend, had been walking by and was able to help me by knocking one or two of them out. While he did that I called the police." (Y/n) finished her statement before she looked back into the males brown eyes.
"Do you remember what they were saying to you? Anything in particular that struck you as odd?"
(Y/n) remained silent for a while as she thought back on the encounter, "I do remember them saying someone told them to do it."
Narita nodded as he added the statement to his document, "Mr. Tachibana said the same thing, however he said the culprits said they were hired."
The word hired made the girls skin crawl, because that means that someone targeted her specifically. If they were part of that yakuza group that kept appearing on the news, Shi No Misaki, then could it be possible that Hiro sent them after, because she rejected his advances? (Y/n) contemplated on the fact before quickly disregarding that, Hiro's parents don't like their family business so she highly doubted he would be able to even have the opportunity to order a hit on her, and a small part of her hoped he wouldn't even think of hurting his old childhood friend.
"Ms. (L/n), you look like you're thinking of something, anything else you wish to add in the interview?" The cop asked as he analyzed her expression.
(Y/n)'s mouth kept shut in a thin line as she debated giving out Hiro's secret information, but in the end she knew she wasn't the kind of person to spill juicy secrets like this and she did still have a soft spot for her ex boyfriend. Shaking her head she licked her lips as she noticed the officer wasn't taking her lie.
"I.." The girl started, "I was thinking if this attack was part of the recent murders going on."
Narita took the girls concern to heart before he nodded, "I'm not too sure, but its a possibility. We have two in custody so we will interrogate them as soon as they wake up, but their clothing do suggest they were apart of one of the yakuza gangs."
Her lips remained glue together as she thought back on the possibility that Hiro was the one behind the attack. She couldn't believe that he would do that though, but the chances are considerably high, however he could've been lying to her face when they were a kid about being part of the yakuza like he did in second year. Two pictures interrupted her thought as they were placed on the desk in front of her.
"Were these two men one of the guys who attacked you?" The officer said with a gruff voice.
Her (e/c) eyes pierced the paper with slight hatred at the two ugly men who seemed to wear nothing but saggy pants and bandannas. Once again the girl nodded her head, which was starting to give her a headache, and pointed to the picture of a male with a shaved head and an ugly dark mustache, "He's the one that was mainly leading the group. He initiated the whole thing."
Narita nodded before he took the pictures back on his side of the desk and wrote a small note in the blank margins before he flipped back to his computer and typed a few more words in. After a few minutes spent in silence the officer nodded and handed her a card with his number on it, "If anything were to come up that you remember from the incident or anything don't hesitate to call. I will also need your house phone or personal number so I can at least keep you updated with the investigation."
Ripping out a small sticky note and a blue ball point pen Narita offered the pen to the teen who gladly accepted it and wrote down her home number as well as her own and her parents. With another nod the officer smiled at (Y/n), "You may go back to your family and head home to rest your head. This shouldn't have happened to a high schooler like you and I hope this will be the only incident that will plague your life."
(Y/n) had a nagging feeling that she may have more problems in the future but for now she offered a kind smile back to him before she stood up and bowed, "Thank you sir for everything. I will contact you as soon as I remember anything important"
With a last nod (Y/n) left the officers desk and headed towards the rusty door she came in the first time. Opening the squeaky door she noticed her sister on her mothers lap taking a nap with her father on the side of her, sitting on the bench she used to be sitting on.
"Ah (Y/n) are you okay?" Her father soon noticed the girls presence and immediately engulfed her in another hug, "The Tachibana's left a while ago. It's nearly midnight so we urged them to go home and sleep."
With a smile the girl nodded for the tenth time that night, "I am. Thank you for waiting. He said we can go home now and rest, but if I have anymore information to call him. I also gave him both yours and moms numbers as well as the home phone."
Her father nodded, "Good then he will also be able to update us. Well for now lets head home, okay?"
The drive home seemed to be longer than the one to the police station and the only reason the girl could find was because she wanted to go home and sleep, to forget that night ever happened. The car remained quiet as her sister had fallen asleep in her baby chair and her mother and father just sent each other worried glances back at their eldest daughter. (Y/n) didn't particularly like the attention she was getting at the moment and it was becoming really bothersome, but she knew it was only out of their love for her.
∴☆∵∴★∵
The next day wasn't any better. She was offered to stay home and not go to school, but (Y/n) didn't want to miss any of her class or have her perfect attendance streak ruined. Her parents sent her off to school reluctantly, but had faith that their daughter would be fine in the daylight rather than the night time. So now (Y/n) walked sleepily towards the school as each foot dragged against the floor. Maybe she should've taken the day off.
The school was bustling in gossip when Hiro reached the gates. He wasn't surprised at the constant gossip the teens at his school got a hold of, but the current talk of the school sparked his interest when he heard a familiar name leave one of their mouths.
"Oh I can't believe (L/n) got attacked last night. She's really sweet so I hope she's okay." One of the first years stated as they switched their outdoor shoes for indoor slippers.
Hiro's eyes widened when he heard of the girls say that and nearly slammed his locker close in the process. Without a second thought Hiro leaned into the conversation more, his heart beating faster at the thought that his childhood friend was attacked.
"Yeah! I heard that it could be related to the Shi No Misaki. The news said it was a group of five males and two of them were caught and suspected to be a part of that gang."
Hearing the name of the infamous group his grandfather ran, Hiro slammed his locker shut which started the underclassmen who realized that the said girls ex was right next to them. They suddenly shut up and hurried off down the hallway and away from the male who was currently glaring as his locker. A few small gasps and whisper sprung louder which caused him to turn his head around before he noticed the said female walking through the school gates looking tired with a few scraps on her body.
"Oh my gosh, what's she doing her?"
"I don't know but she looks like shit." A few murmurs in the crowd stated.
Rushing over to the girl he surprised her when he grabbed her arm causing a lot of commotion throughout the student body.
"What the hell are you doing here at school?" Hiro asked angrily as his grip on the girl tightened.
Confused (Y/n) tried to pull her hand out the males grasp, "Because I care about my future and education?!"
Hiro rolled his baby blue eyes, "You just got attacked and you're here!?"
(Y/n) stopped trying to free her wrist and looked up at Hiro with shock in her eyes, "S-So you were the one who sent them?"
Bewildered Hiro was about to yell at her for such a low accusation, but he was immediately pushed out of the way by another blonde hair male with a band-aid on his face.
"Yo Hiro leave her alone." Kazuki stated as he stepped between Hiro and (Y/n), "She just got attacked and doesn't need to be attacked again."
Hiro scoffed, "And who are you? Her knight in shining armor?"
Kazuki gave a small smirk, "Yeah I am. I did save her from being raped last night, not that you cared."

AND THERES THAT OVER DUE CHAPTER LOL SO SORRY GUYS
I updated the other chapters as well to fix a few errors that I noticed myself and I changed a few things as well. Nothing major just small itty bitty things. I might try to finish this story first rather than my other one only because this story shouldn't be as long as The Playboys game, plus this is my favorite story out of the two lol.
