Welcome Home

The plane landing was harrowing, to say the least. I felt as if I was going to throw up from the constant forceful drops and jerky movements. Thankfully, I did not and instead closed my 'eyes' tightly and mumbled curse words. Tord, on the other hand, seemed completely unbothered and simply said, "Trust me, this isn't the worst landing they've ever done."

Eventually, after a few more agonizing minutes, the plane came to an abrupt halt. The men who I recognized as my kidnappers, Paul and neat haired guy opened the sliding door and started talking to Tord, whom was currently taking off the binds that restrained me onto the seat.

"Red leader sir," Paul said in a bored tone, "We sincerely apologize for the rough landing. "

Tord sighed with annoyance and rolled his eyes, "Don't let it happen again. Now move along, the both of you have work to do."

Paul and the other guy nodded and wandered off as Tord managed to rip the rest of my restraints off me, only leaving the handcuffs, "That took forever. Come along Thomas, I have so much to show you!" The way his face lit up unnerved me. What exactly had this man done? Nonetheless, I nodded and followed him out the exit at the back of the plane.

I took in the new surroundings. The first thing I noticed was the sky. Clouds clustered together against a soft blue background, slowly fading into orange as the sun made its way into the sky. It was a breathtaking scene, one that reminded me of home. What I wouldn't give to be there right now. I sigh escaped chapped lips. I began to take note of the huge building in front of me. It was brick and looked to be very new. There was hardly any windows but a great amount of hedges and trees filling the property. It looked basic, almost normal. But if Tord had anything to do with it, it most certainly wasn't.

Speaking of the Norwegian, he was dragging me towards the buildings grand double doors, a smug smile on his now scarred features. I swear to god, if I could, I would slap that smile right off his face. I bit my bottom lip to release some of my tension, hard enough to draw some blood. I noticed that we had reached the entrance. Two men in the armies uniform opened the door for us after giving a salute and a greeting to Tord, who they called 'red leader'.  We walked inside and he began talking about something, but I wasn't listening. I felt tired. My eyelids were heavy and threatening sleep, but I fought to keep them open. I was trying to pay attention to the route we were going, just in case I needed it to escape. We stepped into an elevator with what seemed like a million different options, some even reaching into the negatives. Tord pressed a button that read 55 in glowing blue numbers.

"-And that's why we changed the policy. Tom? Are you listening to me?" He looked down at me with an unreadable expression.

"No, not at all." I shrugged, might as well be honest. He mumbled something I couldn't make out and looked away.

The elevator door opened to reveal another maze of hallways and doors. It was dead silent. the only thing that I could hear was the clacking of Tord's boots on the concrete floor. He stopped infront of an oak door different from the many we had passed before. It had R.L engraved and a scanner by the handle.

"This is my living place. My office is upstairs, but I'll show you that in the morning. This is also where you're going to be staying.. for alltid."

I shrugged off whatever Tord had said, that stupid commie and his weird languages. He placed his hand on the scanner and after a few seconds, it flashed green and the door swung open. I glanced around. Everything seemed pretty normal. There was a living room with a nice looking tv and a basic kitchen. He led me to his bedroom. It was average looking. The walls were painted red and the bed had red covers and pillows. There was a small wooden desk next to his closet. There wasn't much on it besides a computer and some papers. I was almost surprised to not see a display of guns or some weird posters. Knowing him, he probably put that stuff in his office. I looked back at Tord, who was staring at me like a creep with that same strange expression.

"Tommy.. you need to get some rest. Here, I'll take off your handcuffs so you can sleep properly." Tord grabbed my hands as I attempted to flinch away from his grasp. He reached into his pocket and pulled out a key, unlocking the cuffs. His expression never changed no matter how much I struggled. It seemed almost like he was in a trance, and it was really creeping me out. Tord let go of my hands and moved towards the door.

"I need to go take care of some things. I'll be back soon, kjære." I watched as he closed the door, contemplating what just happened. Thinking about it made me feel even more tired. No matter how my body begged for sleep, I knew that I couldn't let that happen.

I needed to find Edd and Matt and get the hell out of here. I waited until his footsteps faded away and made my way to the kitchen. I needed to construct a plan that he wouldn't expect. But, thinking about this logically, Tord wasn't stupid enough to think that I wasn't going to escape at any chance I got. No matter how much I hated it, I had to gain his trust. How could I do that without him getting suspicious of me?

My head started ache with all the thoughts buzzing in my head. If only I had alcohol to numb everything. I began to search for a drink through the many different places in the kitchen, filled with a false sense of hope. Of course, there was nothing. I sighed with disappointment and settled for coffee instead. It wasn't Smirnoff, but at least it would keep me awake and it wasn't that hard to make. I put on a pot of coffee and took a seat at the kitchen table, resting my head in my hands.

I thought back to the way Tord had been acting ever since he saw me. He hadn't tried to pick a fight with me or even insult me like he always used to. Plus, he had been calling me 'Tommy' and 'kjære', whatever that meant. Tord even kissed my wrist on the plane and did... whatever you call what happened in the bedroom. Maybe he was trying to lure me in so he could kill me and my friends. Maybe he was just trying to tease me. Maybe... I could just close my eyes for a second.
