Her delicate fingers clutch the phone as she runs through the alley. It has started to rain, the cold pellets are ripping through her skin. Not that she notices, her mind is fully focused on the destination. I hope he sees me today. She thinks. I have done so much, surely he will acknowledge and bear it to even look at me. Thanks to her efforts, she has managed to reach the sketchy door with little weather damage. Her makeup is still intact, she must look appropriate. The familiar smell of chemicals bombard her nose, causing her to snuffle. She forcefully opens the door and even after all the times she has brought herself here, she still regrets not wearing proper shoes. You know, ones that are practical for running like she does and don't hurt afterwards. Not the matte red high heels she dedicates herself to put on. Maybe she shouldn't wear them, he doesn't even seem to notice them anyways....
His ghastly black coat winds down his back, forming spikes at the ends. The coat has no specific shape and keeps changing depending on his movements. At the present moment he is standing as rigid as a rock, his cape has definite triangles at the ends. The point is fixed and when he stands, he is exactly in the place he needs to be. Or so he believes. Today, he had sent his assistant to carry out the order he has been waiting so long for. All the vigorous planning he went through just for this sole scheme. I will take over. I am the better one. I can be smarter than Rin. He does not want to end up like him, a stupid banana loving rat who slithers his way through life. Appearing to have so many struggles, he acts like that to get his 'friends'. Creating all these pathetic experiments and somehow managing to travel through time. The thought makes him cringe in disgust. Well, I believe I have gone through so much, I have worked so hard for this haven't I? Dramatic creaking interrupt his serious considerations. Annoyed, he slowly breaks off from his trance, whips his cape behind him and strides over to the door to the gloomy room.
"Huh?!" Daru exclaims. His eyes have been absolutely blinded by the terrible sight he is currently experiencing.
"There's no one here! That idiot Kurisu, and here I am thinking she was the ACTUAL smart one". There hasn't been one time where no one, absolutely no human being has been in the Lab. This was not unexpected to Daru, he had always anticipated this but did not actually believe it was going to happen. Like seriously, no one in the Lab? Pffff Okabe would of laughed his head off at this monstrosity. Feeling a little hesitant, Daru slowly walks around the room and finally ends up at his computer. While staring at his reflection on the desktop, he subconsciously turns the it on. As he inputs his twenty three letter/digit/number password - a little short for the hacker he is - he starts to sense something wrong. That feeling one gets when they know they are alone but can just feel someone or something else nearby. His computer, if left for a significant amount of time, it takes more than thirty seconds to turn on. The screen flashed too quick for that. Realisation strikes him and he braces himself to face his worst fears. Has the hacker been hacked?
"Helffttt!' Kurisu attempts to yell through the abyss of tape covering her mouth. The fact that she is at the bottom of the Lab's cupboard doesn't help in the least. She is sure that she heard the Lab door close. She doesn't care who it is, as long as she can get out of her current situation. Deciding to change tactics, Kurisu begins to thrash about and yell at the same time, anything to attract attention. Just as she starts to think that no one is able to come to her aid, she hears the rickety turn of the doorknob. Someone slowly opens the door and turns the dim light on in the cupboard.
He recognises the click of heels as he opens the door. Moeka swiftly comes in and gracefully sits at one of the hard, throne-like armchairs. She takes out her own phone and starts to text. The Okabe in black's phone starts to beep furiously.
It is done. Subject has been planted into phone. Is all sealed and bystander captured. Placed in correct position.
"And where is this bystander you speak of?" Evil Okabe questions, in an accusing tone.
Left contained in apartment. No one knows and will not be able to free her. She will eventually die.
"You still left her there AND THAT IS A GREAT RISK TO OUR PLAN!" He hisses. "You absolute FOOL, what if she breaks free and retrieves my other half?"
Hurt at his words, she still texts and replies.
Will not happen, I am about to send him now.
"You'd better if you want your life spared", his cape is a flaming rage.
Moeka's finger hovers over the button - SEND TO PAST. It is her duty to follow orders. Without a thought, she presses it instantly.
"Is that you Kurisu?" In the darkness Daru can make out a slumped figure with black tape around the mouth and hands tied at the back. The tiny light on struggles to come on and he leans down to rip the thick tape off her face. While untying the rope at her wrists, Kurisu starts to cry.
"I've been in here for ages! Why didn't you come straight after I called?"
"I wasn't sure to believe you or not! At first you said that everything was fine! And I was held up because of that huge market in town."
"What? I never said such a thing!" Tears are flooding down her face.
"Well anyway what is going on here? And where the heck is Okabe?"
Kurisu's face crumples into further sadness.
"He's gone".
"What do you mean, gone!?"
"Well he was bashing up his phone because it wasn't working then he started to pixelate and faded away. I know ridiculous, but I have no idea where he is."
"Hang on, is his phone still here?"
"I'm not sure". Shaking, Kurisu manages to stand. "I'll show you were he disappeared."
Leading him to the edge of the coffee table, she discovers Okabe's abused cell phone.
"It was here. This is where it happened."
Out of nowhere, a dazzling white light illuminates the room. Daru realises that it is coming from the phone.
"What's happening? Kurisu?!"
However, Kurisu appears to be being absorbed by the light. Nearly impossible to see, Daru can make out her body disappearing, along with the precious phone. Her mouth is moving and she is trying to scream, but no noise is coming out. In an instant, as if it never happened, Kurisu vanishes and Daru is left deserted. In despair, he looks at the spot where the living and breathing Kurisu had once been. Out of habit, he whisks over to his computer and calms himself down. His mind is hurling all sorts of crazy ideas at him but one thing sticks out to him.
Could the phone unlock the gate to the unknown? Is this the key to...... Steins;Gate?
