Bad Attitude
The sound of humming and the turning of the books pages filled the empty book shop. The owner a young man named Kim Taehyung sat behind the countering on a little bean bag hidden from customers view. The smell of new and old books hung in the air the the slight hint of hot cocoa. It being the males favorite drink in the moment other than tea for the cold rainy weather. The peacefulness had been interrupted when the revving of motorcycle engines could be heard. The you g book store owner sighing and setting his bookmark between the pages and placing it on the counter. The book would have to wait. Pushing his glasses further up his nose the young male walked outside his shop just in time to see five males with their back to him. Leather jackets protecting them from the cold. Taehyung on the other hand had no such protection just a oversized cardigan and a thin shirt. He watched them for a moment before thinking the boys had done no harm. Until one of them pulled out a spray can from a bag. A soft gasp left the males mouth. "Don't ruin that wall!" The sudden voice made each male turn around. Thief smiled dropping but were quickly replaced with smirks. "If it isn't Kim. The little book worm." Jungkook the youngest of the five said stepping forward a bit.
"Shouldn't you have your nose in a book? Reading about your fantasy boyfriend?" The words caused Taehyungs cheeks to turn red. "I don't have a fantasy boyfriend. Just please don't mess with her wall. She had to repaint it last time too." Taehyung spoke about the sweet little old lady who owned the bakery just across from his bookshop. Both places being pushed back into a little corner where most couldn't see much going on from the road. "Are you offering your own walls Kim? Want me to paint you a little boyfriend?" Jungkook walked closer standing in front of the male. Causing him to shrink back in fear. "No." It came out as a whisper. Eyes wide as he watched Jungkooks hand come up and flick his forehead. A pout on his lips as the younger pulled away and made his way back over. Tossing the spray can to another biker before getting on his bike. "So long Kim. Enjoy your fantasy dick." With that said he started the large metal beast and pulled away. The other bikers following shortly after him. With a sigh of relief the older male walked back into his book store. Deciding to close a little earlier than normal due to the smaller amount of customers coming in and simply because he could. Grabbing his book and locking up before heading out. The next morning Taehyung began his walk from his apartment down the road to his store. Mouthing the words to the song he was listening to as he walked.
He glanced up from watching his feet and stood shocked. What used to be a brown brick wall was now a mural of giant dick popping out from a book. Horrified and stunned Taehyung stood there for a moment. Tears welling up in his eyes as he took in the graffiti. With shaky hands he pulled the headphones out of his ears and walked closer. Small tears falling down his cheeks. How could someone do something like this. It was so wrong. It wouldn't take a genius to know it was the bikers who had come to vandalize the poor woman next door. He had stopped them though so they got their revenge. Pulling out his phone Taehyung looked up a company who specialized in dealing with graffiti. They agreed to come down in two hours and help out. Relieved it wouldn't be there for a good while Taehyung opened his book shop up. He could hear the familiar sound of motorcycles pull up but chose to ignore them. That's until Jungkook walked into his shop. A cocky smirk on his face as he pushed through the small jingling door. "Kim seems like you have graffiti on your front door. Such a shame." "Jungkook I don't have time to play this game. I'm just trying to run a business. I didn't want to get into anything with your gang. So please." "Please what." The younger leaned across the small counter. Eyes trailing over Taehyung who was speaking but he didn't hear a word too busy taking in how handsome the older male was.
"Jungkook." The younger came to when Taehyung said his name. A soft hand being placed over his own rougher one on the counter. Sucking in a harsh breath the younger jerked his hand away making Taehyung jump back. "Don't touch me Kim." Before the older could say anything more Jungkook walked away. Shoving past the man walking in to help Taehyung rid of the graffiti. The man cursed under his breath and walked up to the counter. "Seems like you've got a biker problem out there. Are they the ones who did that?" With a shake of his head Taehyung stepped out from the counter. "No not them." Something was up. For a split second Taehyung could swear he saw fear flash across the youngers eyes. He couldn't afford snitching on the young men anyways. He knew they'd just retaliate. After a couple days the graffiti was completely gone. The man even offered the repaint the entire building for Taehyung for free. The young book store owner having bought lunch and drinks for the men working on his building as a thanks for helping out.
He hadn't seen the bikers till a week after the art was gone. Well biker. They mostly snickered and threw out small jabs at the older. None of them actually speaking to him like Jungkook did. The little bell above the door needed to be rehung. It had fallen down. He had come from in the back late at night when he saw the biker. He set down a box of books sent to him from his grandparents. He'd send them cash to order him books from different places. They had connections he didn't. Singing softly to the music as he opened the box he heard what sounded like books falling. Confused he paused the music and set his phone down. Walking down one of the aisles in the small shop. What he saw made his gasp. Curled up in the corner with his knees pulled to his chest and head held down was Jungkook. The dark haired biker. Shoulders shaking slightly making Taehyung worry even more about the crying male. "J-Jungkook?" The small sniffles stopped. The raven haired biker looking up with big teary eyes. Fat tears rolled down his cheeks. He opened his mouth to say something but his bottom lip wobbled and he just put his head down again.
Taehyung sat down beside the younger and placed a hand on arm. Rubbing it slowly to try and help ease him. Although it only made the younger flinch. He soon relaxed though and allowed Taehyung continue to comfort him. "Jungkook do you want some hot cocoa?" A small nod was all he received. That's how Taehyung ended up with a sniffling biker in the corner of his shop sipping on hot cocoa. He wouldn't say anything just nod. The older didn't bother asking if he was okay. It was obvious he wasn't. He wouldn't be crying in a corner if he was. "Need anything else?" Jungkook shook his head and stood up. Taehyung following his lead and picking up the empty cup to take it to the back. When he was about to turn to leave a hand grabbed his arm. "Don't tell anyone about this got it." Taehyung looked up at the biker. Tear stains on his cheeks. He felt his heart squeeze.
"I won't." He breathed out. When Jungkook let go of him he reached into his pocket and took out some tissues. They were in case he cried while reading a book. The younger took the tissues and wiped harshly at his face. "Don't do that! You'll hurt yourself." Jungkook glared at Taehyung. The book store owner gave a small smile and took the tissues. Setting the cup onto one of the book shelves. He began to gently wipe the tears away. As he did so the younger stared at the olders face. He looked so concerned. Like he actually cared. Or maybe he was upset about what Jungkook did to his wall and was luring him in. Maybe he'd clean him up and make him feel better just to crush him in the end. Even though he had only seen Taehyung be kind. When he had walked by he had seen Taehyung giving lunch to the workers taking off his graffiti. Saw him worry over them.
With a shaky hand he placed it over Taehyung own that had been wiping away at his face. "Thank you." Looking up with big brown eyes Taehyung nodded and pulled away. "You can come here anytime you need. I won't judge you." Jungkook nodded and thanked Taehyung one last time before he left. The older stood there lost in his thoughts for a moment before grabbing the cup and cleaning up the store. Leaving soon after. Two days later Taehyung was surprised to see the old woman owning the bakery in his shop. Asking him if he'd call the men who worked on his wall for her. Nodding and calling them up he stepped outside to see her wall covered with an old man bursting out of a pie in al his naked glory. Frowning Taehyung notified the woman that they'd be down in a few hours. She thanked him and scurried back to her shop. A month soon passed and Taehyung didn't see any of the bikers. Not even any new graffiti. Honestly he was worried.
The worry only increased when Taehyung sat behind the counter reading on a stormy day. Wanting to wait the rain out. The door jingled and there standing in the doorway drenched in rain was Jungkook. Worried Taehyung set his book down and rushed over. Jungkook allowed himself to be dragged further into the shop as Taehyung scurried off to find his umbrella and keys. He grabbed them and pulled Jungkook to the door. Opening the umbrella when they were out and locking the shops door. He needed to get Jungkook warm and out of the cold. He didn't have much at the shop to do that so he decided he'd take him to his apartment. The biker was so out of it he didn't realize as they walked in the heavy rain the umbrella was held over him. Only protecting him from the rain. The older male getting drenched as he only worried about Jungkooks health. He could see bruises on the youngers face.
After getting to the apartment Taehyung rushed into his room and pulled out some pajamas his brother forgot and handed them to Jungkook. Forgetting to change himself out of wet clothes as well. Soon Jungkook stepped out and looked up at Taehyung. Eyes widening as he looked at the sopping wet male holding a white towel. He didn't get to say anything before the towel was tossed over his head and Taehyung worked on drying his wet hair. Wanting Taehyung to change out of the wet clothes too Jungkook tried to push the male away but only told to let Taehyung finish. He placed his hands on Taehyungs waist and then pushed the male away. The older surprised at the touch was easy to push away. Jungkook then took the towel off his hair. "You need to change clothes too." A small nod was all he got before Taehyung left and came back in oversized blue bunny pajamas. Blue fuzzy socks on as well matching the pjs. "Sit down I'll make cocoa and something to eat."
With a small nod from the younger Taehyung stepped away and into the kitchen. Skin tingling from the bikers touch. Chalking it up to nerves the male began setting some milk onto the stove. Grabbing another put he bagan making a simple soup. When the hot cocoa was finished he poured it into two mugs and walked them out to the living room where he found the younger starring blankly at his lap. Face void of any emotion. "Drinks are ready. Food will only be a moment." The dark haired male glanced up and nodded. "Thank you." "Don't worry about it." Setting the cups down on the small table Taehyung then grabbed a blanket off the arm of the couch and draped it over the youngers shoulders. "Before the soup finishes we'll clean up the cuts and apply ointment to the bruises. Sound good to you?" "Yeah." Jungkook watched the older walk out of the room once more. Eyes then landing on the cups filled with the warm beverage.
He felt horrible. The man he had treated as some sort of stress relief ball was now taking him into his home and taking care of him without any questions asked about what happened. Hell honestly Jungkook didn't think he'd take the older up on his offer. Thought he'd avoid Taehyung for awhile before messing with him again. Yet when he ran out of the house his feet took him straight to the little book store. He was so lost in his thought that when Taehyung game back and sat down in front of him it made him flinch. "Sorry." "It's okay." Taehyung offered a small smile before taking q-tips and dipping them in alcohol. Gently pressing them over the cuts and whispering soft apologies whenever Jungkook would hiss in pain. He watched as Taehyung was so focused on trying to help him. Placing small bear bandages on the cuts. "Thank you."
Big brown eyes looked at Jungkook. Wide from the sudden words spoken in the quiet room. It made him seem much younger than he actually was. In all honesty Jungkook felt older than Taehyung normally. Yet right now he felt like he was just a small child being taken care of by a hero. A sweet smile spread across Taehyungs face. Eyes twinkling in the soft yellow light in the room. "Anytime." Soon the two ate soup in a peaceful silence. When they were done Taehyung washed the dishes and got pillows and blankets from his room. "Come on." "What? I'm sleeping in here aren't I?" "No you're sleeping in my bed. I'm sleeping on the couch." "I can't do that." "Well I'm older so I say I sleep on the couch and you sleep on my bed. So that's what's happening." "You don't act older most of the time." "Fine if you won't sleep on the bed-" Taehyung placed a pillow on the floor and a blanket before setting the extras onto the couch beside the younger. "Then I'll sleep on the floor."
Rolling his eyes Jungkook stood up. A small smile on his lips as he pulled Taehyung up. "Show me the bed then." "I knew you'd like to sleep there." Jungkook shook his head and followed Taehyung into the room. Both bidding goodnight soon after. As he laid in the bed he couldn't help but feel comfortable. The soft mint smell and the smell of old books lingered. It smelt amazing. Pushing his face further into the pillow he felt his body relax. The calming scent taking him further into his dreams. Until they'd turn dark and rancid. With the worried male who currently slept in the living room soon to wake him up and rescue him once again.
