"Zach, you have officialy pushed the boundaries, of what you can drag back here,"

"Andrew! You have to help her, she's hurt," I pleaded.

Dragonfly was pacing around the box, she looked around, somewhat confused. Maybe even a little scared, but mostly angry. I rubbed my bandaged arms guiltily.

Andrew leaned against the wall, and took a deep breath. I could see the gears working in his head, I was winning.

"Fine, what's wrong with 'her'?"

"Her right wing is dislocated at the shoulder, you're usually the person to deal with that stuff."

"Go get me something to knock her out with, and a splint, this is going to hurt if she's conscious," he said, attempting to reach in and grab her.

I went into the back and grabbed some medicine from from the cabinet that we kept our medical supplies in. Along with splinting supplies, and dashed back to Andrew. He had Dragonfly out of the box and held her scruff. She didn't look happy at all. I dropped the items and and bit my lip worriedly. I didn't have the strongest stomach.

"You can leave if you want, this is usually hard to watch," he said.

I nodded and backed out of the room. Leaning against the wall outside. A few minutes past and I heard a knock at the door. Andrew opened it and I saw Dragonfly's wing had been bandaged and she was sleeping soundly.

"She's fine," he said, "she'll be asleep for a few minutes though." I nodded and went to pick her up. Then I went to the cat section and found an empty cage for her next to Jelu. Then I leaned against the opposite wall and sighed. I had no idea what I would do now.

"Where did you find a cat with wings!?" Andrew interrogated me.

"In an old house, I'm pretty sure she crashed," I answered.

"Where did she come from?"

"I don't know, and I feel like I should."

I rubbed my head thoughtfully. I was met with a dull throb. Andrew stared at me curiously.

"We should tell someone, Zach, we're in way over our heads here!"

"No!" I winced as my head throbbed again, "we can't tell anyone about Dragonfly!"

He held up his hands in defense. "Okay, but what are you going to do?"

"I don't know, I.. I can't think right now." I rubbed my head again.

"well you're taking care of her, I am not getting involved in this one."

"Fine, I'll stay the night, we'll do something in the morning," I breathed.

"You'll do something in the morning, I'm off my shift," he walked out of the room.

I texted my dad and ran home real quick to get a sleeping bag. I set up camp and kept watch over my winged cat. She had woken up and was sitting, staring at me angrily. She had a temper, I'll give her that. Everything was quiet and dark, until the clock struck twelve. I couldn't sleep, my eyes refused to close. I heard a dim buzzing sound.

Then I strange green light filtered through the window. I heard shouts, an argument was going on outside. I got up and peered out the window, at that moment a storm hit. And lightning flashed outside. I could see two forms just as the huge electric snake retreated into the sky. It looked like bird, and a massive bee... Fighting? I backed away from the window, and tripped over something. A great flash of light burned at my eyes before I blacked out.

It was really bright when I opened my eyes. I blinked, confused, then everything came into focus. I gasped, the colors seemed so intense, and everything was sharper. But I was distracted by my returning headache. And when I tried to get up, my feet felt weird and I stumbled and slammed against a wall. Something rattled from above and fell on my head, squishing and splattering all over my body.

It was an old jar of white paint, just great. It would take me hours to get this off. I mean seriously, just, agh. I opened my eyes again and glanced at my hands. Then I screamed, because they weren't hands, they were paws! I turned around in circles looking at myself because I was no longer human.

I was a cat.

With wings.
