Chapter 3 pt:2
Previouslyy~
'They're going to find out,' I repeatedly thought as I looked down. 'I failed them.' I blink as I look up. Papa Izuku and Papa Shoto had decided to let go of the groceries as they looked at me worriedly.
"Setsu?" Papa Shoto called and I just burst into tears.
"WHAT THE HELL?" I heard Papa Katsuki yell as I cried more.
God, this operation: hide the three is a disaster.
Amaris' pov
"Who the hell are you?!!" He yelled once again. Agni, who had hit his bad leg on this guy's surprise entrance in the room, had just groaned as Aouli and I grinned awkwardly.
"Agni-san!" Katsumi-chan yelled too as she ran towards my brother who was writhing in pain. The two both share some serious traits, I looked towards the adult who glared at us and huffed. It's their father alright.
"Katsumi, Get back here!" He hissed.
"NO!! Bad Papa Katsuki!" She screamed as she hugged Agni. My brother just put his hand on her hair as he grunt because of her strength.
"NO! You are the bad one!" He yelled. Katsumi-chan just buried her face on Agni's stomach. Her Father just clicked his tongue.
"Mizuki, why are they here?" He asked his son but he didn't stray his eyes on us, his face is red and fuming as if ready to shout out different kinds of curses but he sure managed to refrain himself from doing so in front of his children. Mizuki can't talk, he is troubled if he's gonna speak or not.
"Sorry to intrude, sir." I said as I hid my trembling hands in the sheets. He just threw a heated glare at me and I gulped. Pro Heroes sure are a scary bunch.
"Katsuki?" Someone called as I heard someone sniffling. Two new adults had entered the room and I saw Setsu crying beside her father who had two different hair colors like hers. She was looking down, unable to look at us as she sniffled and hiccuped. I furrow my brows in worry, I want to pat her hair just to comfort her but we are in a tight situation.
"Who are they?" The adult who had dark green hair asked. Mizuki looked up at him and back at us. He looks torn between going to Aouli or staying by his father's side.
"I don't know! Katsumi had ran up to the other one." He said and pointed at Agni and Katsumi.
"BAD PAPA!" Katsumi yelled. Her father clicked his tongue as the green haired one had a worried expression on his face.
"Where did you come from?" The one who had a scar asked us. I bite my lips as I clench my hands, if we come up with any excuses like we live in Hokkaido or something they will definitely have a string to pull just to ask if what we are saying is the truth. If I told them we are from America or even said that we don't understand them because we hardly know Japanese, unfortunately, they will give lots of questions like how come their kids had managed to bring us here with little to no conversation. Everything I come up with will hardly help us. I guess telling them some half truths might help.
"We were brought here." I said, replying bluntly I will not reveal any kind of other information, it is even true to the situation right now. He furrowed his eyebrows as he was rendered speechless.
"Why are they wounded?" The other asked as well. Setsu sniffled once again as she looked up. Our eyes met and I gave a reassuring smile at her. Her lips quivered as tears started falling.
"I'm sorry..." She whimpered, I just wanted to hug her once again. Her father looked at her as the one who was near her gently faced Setsu to him and brushed off her tears. I sighed in relief, even though I'm sad that Setsu-chan is crying, I'm glad the topic has changed.
"Nee-chan..." Mizuki said as he went towards Setsu and hugged her. Setsu hugged back as her father looked at her with worry.
"Setsu..." He whispered. Setsu blinked her eyes as she looked up at her fathers.
"I was the one who brought them here..." She confessed.
"What?!" The spiky haired adult yelled. He was hushed by the more gentle father as his scarred hand cupped Setsu's red cheeks and brushed the stray tears away.
"Why did you bring them here, Setsu-chan?" He asked.
"They we-were injured in the bus stop and we just had the urge to help them even though we're a little scared." She explained as she started patting Mizuki's back. Her brother hugged her more. The spiky haired adult hummed as he looked at us once again. Aouli had tried to inch his way to be near me but was stopped by a glare. I shield him away as I challenge the adult with a stare down. He furrowed his eyebrows as he looked away and gazed back at his family.
"Are they good guys?" The one who had a scar asked. Setsu nodded furiously.
"Yes, they are! They even thanked us when we helped them patched up!" She answered. I slightly gushed at how Setsu thought of us as kind and good people.
"You-you don't have to men-mention it..." I blurted out as I scratched my head, trying to make the mood slightly lighter.
Ground Zero just looks at me with a glare and scoffs, "Don't think you're out of this yet." I didn't even notice but my fox ears were pinned so low on my head and I felt a little whimper emerge from my throat just by his glare. Jeez, how could these kids not fear him? I looked away, a bit overwhelmed with his stare.
"Just trying to lighten the mood a bit." I murmured while clutching the sheets.
"Kacchan..." I hear one of them state seeing that I was a little more on edge now, kinda grateful but the situations atmosphere hasn't quite changed just yet.
"God, Deku, the kids brought strangers at home and they're even injured! They might be Villains trying to take advantage of our kids' kindness!" He said. I looked at the ground as my ears plopped down, disappointed that he thought of us as villains. He does have a point but still that's a low blow on us.
"Think rationally, Katsuki." The one who had a scar on his face said. "They are injured and might be on a run or something." I look at the semi-colored man, he seems more calm yet there is still the vibe of suspicion, I think I like this father more because of his calm demeanor, his stare can be intimidating, though.
"Yeah, calm down, Kacchan. We should trust our children's judgement with them." The green haired father said and looked at me. I straightened my back as he walked towards me and crouched down on my level.
"What's your name?" He asked. Despite scars on both his arms and some on his face, he still managed to be gentle.
"I'm Amaris..." I said, not letting any words be spilled once again. I'm a little scared as to how my guard and unease has dissipated once he started talking with that gentle voice. It made my skin crawl as I remember the experience it had brought to us siblings.
"Nice to meet you, Amaris-chan." He said, I blinked as I suddenly felt none of that uneasy fright once he spoke once again. It's a bad experience for me, when adults start using that kind of tone to us. We've been deceived and cheated while that tone is always present. But this adult is not one of them.
"My name is Midoriya Izuku or you can call me Deku." He said as a laugh filled his voice. I looked up at him as he smiled at me. Even though our meeting wasn't much of a normal one, it did slowly allow me to see their true intentions, and he seemed like a great guy. I finally let my guard down for what felt like hours, and my tail started to wag.
"Ummm... it's nice to meet you, Deku." I smiled slightly. He also smiled at me and it was bright and happy. I felt giddy just by seeing it and the carefree atmosphere behind this interaction didn't make me scared anymore.
"Are they your brothers?" He asked as he looked at my back. My ears perked up as I looked at my brothers. Aouli has his sharper ears pinned on his head while Agni still lay on the ground with Katsumi still laying with him, face buried and hair being patted by Agni.
"Yes, they are my little brothers." I said. He let out a hum as he raised his height. I had to look up just to gaze at him.
"They're also siblings! That's cute." He said and chuckled. The other father just observed us with interest. Setsu-chan had stopped crying but she still had Mizuki beside her, her little brother clinging to her.
"What's their name?" The dual-colored haired father asked.
"I'm Aouli..." Aouli said, "And Agni." He pointed at Agni.
"Okay! Since we now know your guys' names, let me introduce these other two adults." Deku-san said. He pointed at the guy who's been yelling and I know as Ground Zero.
"This is Bakugou Katsuki! His hero name is Ground Zero." He then pointed at the adult with a calm face, "And this man here is Todoroki Shoto! His hero name is Shoto." He said. Shoto nodded at us and I nodded back.
"Papa I-Izuku?" We all looked towards Katsumi who lifted her face up and it's all red. Her eyes are puffy and wet while she sniffles some snot. Her face is really sad and unlike the child I met when we woke up.
"Oh no." Ground Zero mutters as he goes towards Katsumi and carries her.
"Katsumi, don't be sad." Agni tells her as she is lifted off making him slightly frown at seeing her red puffy face, she continues to cry silently.
Ground Zero hushes her, patting her back and whispering words of comfort towards her. His face was blank as he looked away from us and presented us with his broad back. Katsumi's small face is buried on his wide shoulders.
"I think us adults should talk." Deku said as he scratched his hair while looking at his husband comforting his crying child.
"We should talk." Shoto agreed as he looked towards Setsu and Mizuki who were clinging to one another as if their life depended on it.
Deku nods and gently pushes the kids to come outside with them, making us slightly sad that they had to go, but what happened next shocked us and the fathers.
"I-If it's o-okay..." Setsu states as she walks slowly towards me and sits on my bed. "I would like to stay." She said, I smiled at her and held her hand with mine. Mizuki runs and jumps onto Aouli's chest making him grunt in slight pain, clinging to him and burying his face onto his chest.
"M-ME T-TOO!!" Katsumi-chan stated as she tries to squirm out of Bakugou's hold, he slowly puts her down and she immediately runs towards Agni as he reaches his arms out to catch her into a tight hug. He gasps as he falls on his back onto the futon.
Deku looks towards his husbands, with Shoto looking slightly surprised, and Ground Zero with his eyes wide they look like they might just pop out. It almost made me laugh in a prideful manner, but I decided to keep it to myself. Deku turns towards us and softly smiles.
"That would be fine too, Setsu." He said and turned his gaze towards me, "Take care of them, okay Amaris-chan?" I nodded.
"Of course, Deku-san." I said. He grinned then turned to walk towards the door. Shoto right behind him and Bakugou-san looks back at us with a scowl, indicating he was pissed, and finally closes the door.
Bakugou's pov
My mood had started decreasing as I fumed with anger. I walked behind Shoto and Deku as we went to the dining room. We sat there at the tables as I leaned my back and sighed loudly.
"God, this is a disaster." I said as I put both my hands on my face and groaned.
"Let's just decide," Deku said as he sighed too. "For our children." Shoto nodded and agreed. These two are so soft, I can't understand why they wouldn't worry more. My hands fell to my side as I stared at the ceiling.
"They seem nice enough." Shoto started. I lift my head to look at him.
"Setsu knows what she is doing," He said with a small smile on his face. "Besides they are scared of having interactions with other people than her family." Deku nods in agreement.
"Considering that she always struggled to try and speak to someone, and it looks like she made a friend. " He grins optimistically. I furrow my eyebrows as I fold my arms.
'God why can't they be more cautious.' I thought, more infuriated.
"It's best they managed to find friends but who the hell are they?" I began, "Are they beggars? Villains? Some runaway brats? They don't even look like Japanese!" I fumed. Deku purse his lips as he ran his hand on his hair and looked at the table.
"If they aren't willing to talk about it we shouldn't force them." Shoto said.
"Bullshit! We should have asked them a while ago! I'm worried about our kids!" I hissed, half and half bastard just glared at me and I glared back.
"We all are, Katsuki." He growled, I stopped myself from biting back a retort. I just click my tongue and scowl.
"But they are injured, at the very least we should get them treated." He added.
"We should give them to the hospital then." I pointed out.
"That would be trouble, Kacchan." Deku said with an apologetic smile. I gritted my teeth as I flail my hands.
"How– Why would it be trouble?!" I asked, they are so thick minded.
"They might be victims! That's why they ran away!" Deku stressed. I became silent as I remember when we were teenagers and Deku encountered something just like what we are in right now. Eri has been a bright sunshine ever since.
"We're just going to ask one of the doctors we know to treat them better," Shoto suggested. "Setsu had done a great job but Amaris' wound might get infections." Deku smiled at that and nodded, I just scoffed.
"Fine, you guys win!" I yelled. Deku just laughed that made me grit my teeth. "But we're gonna keep an eye on them! Okay?!" I demand. Shoto sighed and nodded his head, his eyes reflected akin to a mocking that made me want to punch him on the face. I just stopped myself from harming my husband by breathing deeply and sighed. I looked towards Deku and he just smiled and nodded.
"We're still gonna keep the kids safe, Katsuki-chan." He said, I bristled at him as I felt my face getting hot.
"Shut it!!" I yelled. We then heard some laughter and squeals from upstairs that made me freeze.
"What's happening to them?" Shoto mumbled as he got up from seating and went to the stairs.
"Hey, Shoto!" I called. He just kept on going as Izuku and I followed him upstairs. He went towards the storage room and opened the door a little. We all peaked at it to see our kids laughing with the brats. They all played with each other as the brats watched them and also talked with our kids. I was taken aback as I watched our children play and have fun.
They do look likes a good bunch of teenagers and it was also the first time Setsu had a breakdown in front of us, Mizuki was torn on going to that blue haired brat's side or staying at his fathers' side, and even Katsumi had cried when she thought the guy he was hugging is going away.
I sighed as I straightened my back and walk back to the stairs.
"Katsuki?" Shoto called out.
"Where are you going?" Deku asked.
"I'm gonna cook some curry for lunch!" I answered as I walked downstairs. I put my hand on my pockets as I went to the living room to get the groceries.
I want to think that we will all be safe, and that the brats have no intention of harming my kids because they are friends now, but I just can't shake the feeling that they will be dangerous to us in the future. I hate my guts for having this idea get on me but just for my family's safety, I will trust those strangers and believe my children and my husbands that think that they will be no harm to us.
Midoriya's POV
I looked towards Kacchan retreating back and gazed back at the kids. I understand Kacchan's worries but I can't just leave them to the hands of a stranger. I remember Togata-senpai's action when I tried to blindingly save Eri-chan, saying that we should wait and see something. It can be frustrating and we might think of it as a failure, I know that, Senpai knew that, but we need to see their intention first.
I lightly knocked on the door and fully opened it. Six pairs of eyes looked at us, seemingly annoyed that we interrupted their fun. I laughed awkwardly as Shoto and I entered the room.
"I'm sorry to interrupt." I apologize. Katsumi just grumbled and sat beside Agni.
"What's wrong, Papa Izuku?" Mizuki asked as he looked at me and then at Shoto.
"There's nothing wrong, Mizuki." I softly said as I smiled towards him. They must have been worried about our talk.
"Where's Papa Katsuki?" Setsu asked as she settled beside Amaris.
"He's cooking curry right now." Shoto answered. She perked up at the mention of curry as she excitedly held Amaris' hands.
"Amaris-san! That's what I'm talking about! Papa Katsuki's curry!" She said. Setsu's eyes twinkle as she smiles when I mention it, she does love Kacchan's curry so much.
"You guys can help him prepare for lunch." I suggested. They looked at each other then at their friends as if asking if they are alright with them leaving for a bit.
"You can all go, Setsu-chan." Amaris said with a smile. Setsu beamed at her as she got up and she and her siblings ran towards the exit and trudged towards the first floor. Shoto and I looked towards the sibling as we both settled ourselves on the ground.
"We would like to have a talk with the three of you." I said with a smile. Amaris straighten her back as Aouli inch towards Agni who sat awkwardly with his bad leg.
"You're not asking, heh, Deku-san." She said. I just chuckled at her.
"So sorry about that." I sheepishly said. She just shook her head.
"It's all fine, beside this is important." She said.
"Thank you for understanding." She smiled at me and indicated to me to go on.
"We've come to an agreement that we will make you stay for the meantime." I said. She blinked at me, surprised that they were allowed to stay. Aouli sighed in relief as he fell on his brother's shoulders. Agni just sighed and maintained his position.
"We would also like for the three of you to be treated by a doctor so that your wounds would not be infected." I spoke. They all stiffened at the mention of a doctor. Amaris holds her wounded stomach as she frowns.
"Deku, we can't really go to the hospital..." She trailed over.
"Don't worry, Amaris-san." Shoto said. They all looked at him in confusion. "The doctor that will treat you will not be from some hospital, it will be someone we know so that you will not be found by the person that did this to you and your brothers." They slightly jolt at his last statement; they look at each other as if they were caught. She slowly look at us and stutters.
"So...y-you figured it out?" she stammers out, looking down and clutching the sheets.
"No, we did not." Shoto said to reassure them. "We do figure something out by assuming things. Besides, we've encountered several incidents like runaways and such." He said. Amaris sighed in relief but she was still on edge.
"Right, you guys are pro heroes." She said with a nervous chuckle.
"You don't need to be afraid, Amaris-chan." I said, she just flashes us some kind of mix between a grimace and a smile.
"Yeah...yeah, you're right, Deku-san..." She said as she closed her eyes and sighed. Shoto and I looked at each other and back at them.
"We will not pry on your problems, Amaris-san, we aren't lying with what we said but as both a parent and a hero, we can't help but be suspicious." Shoto explained.
Amaris nods Aouli then starts to speak, "We all understand about your concern, considering that you guys care about your kids and yourselves, we would love to tell you........but, we are just jumpy." He said and looked down with a sad chuckle.
I felt sympathy for these siblings, they must have encountered dangerous things that happened and ruined their lives. I can feel myself tear up a little bit.
"I see," I said as I sniffed a little, Shoto shot me with a look. "It's alright to be cautious, Aouli-kun." I looked at them and gave a reassuring smile.
"We will provide you safety if that's gonna help you guys." I said. Aouli and Agni beamed at me as they looked at each other with hopefulness. Amaris didn't seem to accept it.
"S-sorry, I do a-appreciate it, but a-are you sure? I mean we are already trespassing and you're willing t-to help us with our wounds, I...I think we've asked a-a lot. W-we could leave once w-we heal." She said. At first the other two looked shocked but then they realized what she meant and nod in agreement. Their future departure brought sadness to the three.
I glanced at Shoto who was having some thoughts as he held his chin. I looked back at our guests and also decided.
If they are fully healed and will leave, the kids will eventually complain to us but they decided about it, I can't just decide their fate for themselves. My family will also be safe from what was trying to catch them. But still, even as I fear for my family's safety, I can't be so selfish as to just leave them be on their way. I lift my gaze and was about to speak but Shoto had beaten me to it.
"Decide your departure once you are fully healed." He said. "We can't keep you worrying about your leave as you heal and play with our children. They also will never let you leave just like that, so please, get that idea out of your mind for the meantime." He said. Amaris looked torn as she looked anywhere but us.
"You are too kind." She muttered. She looks at us and smiles sadly almost ready to break. "Thank you so much." She said with a sincere and soft tone. "In return we can try our best to help in any way possible." Aouli and Agni looked to us as well with a smile.
"Same here, we will help in return." Aouli and Agni both replied at the same time, both glared at each other and began having a playful argument, making a hilarious scene.
"Baka, why did you mimicked me?" Agni asked with a toothy grin.
"Eh? I'm not mimicking anything, I'm just stating an offer." Aouli says crossing his arms and snickering slightly. They began to speak to each other in more gibberish but Aouli seemed to be playfully upset and used his water magic and sprayed water all over Agni's face.
"Oi!" Agni warns as he wipes his face and looks at Aouli a little irritated, or is it just a joke. I couldn't tell. It's an antics between siblings, the kids also do this.
Shoto had smiled at their antics as he got up from his seating position.
"I'm glad we've settled this." He said as he looked between the siblings. They all blinked at him and beamed a smile.
"Thank you, Shoto-san, Deku-san." Amaris said. "We are truly grateful for your kindness." She said as her voice nearly cracked. She looked down and bowed her head, her ears were low.
"I'm really grateful." She muttered. I went to her side and crouched down to her level to give her a handkerchief.
"You're welcome, Amaris-chan." I said. She sniffed as she took it and wiped her eyes.
"We're gonna help with the others downstairs and we'll get the food here." I said. Their ears perked up at the mention of foods. Aouli and Agni have their eyes wide.
"Re...really?" Aouli asked.
"Of course!" I chuckled. "Everyone will have a share!" Shoto nodded beside me as the siblings rejoiced for food. Amaris just smiled as we bid them goodbye and went downstairs.
"Do you think what I said to them was too...imposing?" Shoto asked hesitantly. I shook my head as I smiled at him.
"It's alright, Shoto." I said. "As long as we keep an eye on them and also make them safe, it's fine." I reassured him. He smiled at me as he brushed away my hair and pecked my forehead.
"Thank you, Izuku." He said and I just chuckled.
"Everything's going to be fine." I repeated with a smile.
Amaris' POV
I lay on the futon as they closed the door behind their back. Agni and Aouli talked to each other as I stared at the ceiling and pondered our conversation a while ago. They really are nice and cool, I wish we could stay longer, and maybe have a family again.
I don't know for myself though, I can't brush off the feeling we are being watched by that person just close by. I wouldn't want the kids to get hurt because of us nor the heroes I looked up to when I was young. Seeing the three together, not to mention that they are married, It made me want to plead to them for help and at the same time keep them and their family away from this mess. I wouldn't want them to face the demon who shackled us and kept the key to lock us forever in their grip.
I closed my eyes as I continued to wonder when Agni and Aouli called me out of my trance.
"Amaris?" Agni called. I looked up to them as they had a worried look on their faces.
"What?" I asked. Agni had a frown on his face as he caressed his bad leg.
"Should we not stay perhaps?" He silently asked. I bite my lips as I sit up and face them.
"I...don't know, Agni." I admitted, "They insisted and I'm too torn between refusing and accepting."
"If they catch up, what will we do?" Aouli asked, he looked worried as he clenched his jaw.
"Don't say that, please, Aouli..." Agni pleaded. His face had a scowl as he remembered them.
"I'm sorry." Aouli muttered as he bowed his head. Agni closed his eyes and just lay his forehead on Aouli's shoulder. He also muttered an apology as Aouli only nodded.
"Can we just promise each other that, if they do find us.......if they try to hurt them, are you guys ready to throw your life away?" I look at them, dead serious. Knowing that after we escape from her, she will be pissed. She would not hesitate to kill anyone or kill us and put our dead corpses on the wall for display.
Agni lifted his head as both of them looked at me and without hesitation nodded and smirked. "Let's do that." Agni states, grinning as if it wasn't a big deal.
"Goodness, Amaris, you don't seem scared, not that I am either." Aouli remarked. I put on a smug look as I grin.
"As if I could be scared by the whiny devil." I say snickering just thinking of them.
-Timeskip-
We continued to talk until we heard a couple of frantic footsteps coming up, along with heavy steps too. We watched the door burst open as the family of six entered the room. Bakugo-san carried a long table that looked heavy but he seemed like it's weight is no big deal to him. Katsumi squirmed past her father that made Bakugo-san click his tongue and sighed.
"Hey! Hey!!" Katsumi giggled, she holds the silverware we're going to use.
"Stay put, Katsumi." Bakugo-san said as he entered the room and put the long table in front of our futon.
"Hey, I hope we didn't make you wait for so long." Deku said as he smiled at us. We shook our head as we watched them put the utensils, rice cooker, and the curry on the table.
"Amaris-san." Setsu called me as she stayed by my side. Shoto-san sat beside her.
"Hey, Setsu." I said and grinned. She also has a smile on her face as she wrapped her hands around mine.
"I'm so happy you guys can stay." She cheered as I only smiled at her.
"Of course Setsu-chan." Aouli says from behind me with his cheeky smile. Setsu giggled at him making my lil brother smiled widely.
"Let's eat, already." Katsumi said as she bounced on her place. Mizuki sat beside her as they were in between Bakugou-san and Deku-san. Since Agni can't curl his leg to sit near her or the table. Agni got his own table that was put on his lap. He's still near us though.
"Alright, Katsumi-chan." Deku-san chuckled. "Let's eat!" He said. We all clap our hands and give thanks for the food.
Our plate was filled with warm rice and hot curry. I can smell the spices and meaty fragrance of the dish. I take a spoon and eat it. I widen my eyes as I taste the burst of spiciness and the curry's juicy flavor. It's salty and it has a flavor I can't decipher but it's so good!
"Oh my god!" Agni gasped out, I looked towards him as he had a big smile on his face as he shoved down the food in his mouth.
"Be slow, brat." Katsuki said, Agni stopped as he looked at him slightly surprised and nervous. The adult sighed. "You can't taste it if you eat too fast." He added. Agni blinked at him and then smiled.
"Thanks, sir." He said and ate slowly. Katsuki gave out a good approval as Agni did so.
"It's so good, Amaris." Aouli muttered beside me as he got another batch of rice. I snickered, they sure are gluttons.
"Eat up, Amaris-san." Setsu said as she ate. I grinned as I took a bite again.
Man, I'm glad we stayed for a while.
