Scream-Michael Jackson

Third Person POV

"I don't know, do you trust her?"

"Yeah, but I trusted the others too."

"She already knows one of the secrets." Frank pointed out. It had been a few days since Emmy transferred in.

"That's because it's part of her family secret too. Mine's a little bit different." Percy insisted.

"If you don't want to tell her, don't tell her. I think you should though." Frank shrugged.

Percy opened his mouth to reply, then saw Emmy headed their way.

"Hey, Percy!" She exclaimed happily. "I go'a say, Mr. Bain's class is fantastic!"

Frank chuckled. "Man knows his stuff, doesn't he?"

"Does he ever!" Emmy exclaimed. "And his tests are gon' be easy! Pho'ographic memory, ye see?" she tapped her forehead.

"I bet that's helpful." Percy laughed.

"Oh, definitely!" Emmy began to explain why her memory would be so helpful. Percy had to smile, seeing her so excited about something so simple as a test.

He opened his locker and a familiar sight caught his eye.

His skateboard sat in the side of his locker, collecting dust in a metaphorical sense.

"I see that look in your eyes, Jackson. What are you thinking about?" Frank asked suddenly.

"Think I could do it?" Percy asked, not taking his eyes off the skateboard.

Frank started to say something, seeming hesitant, but Emmy cut him off, answering immediately.

"If ye think ye can, ye have to try some time."

Percy was actually surprised with her reaction. People had started to treat him more normally in the time since the accident, but he hadn't expected the outright answer he got.

Then again, Emmy was just basing it on their talk at lunch.

"Percy, ye don't seem like the kind of guy to be afraid of falling down, if ye want to do it, ye should try."

Percy turned to Frank. "Hold my bag for me?"

"Alright... Don't hurt yourself dude." Frank took the book bag hesitantly.

Percy grabbed his skateboard and dropped it on the ground, looking down the hallway. It was mostly cleared, and he was counting on people to pay attention to where he was heading.

"Ye can do it, Percy." Emmy said.

Percy took a deep breath and went for it.

For about a half a second, his heartbeat sped up as he felt himself wobble, his balance shifting dangerously as he flew down the hallway. Then his balance solidified and he felt a grin slip onto his face as he realized that even with the imbalance of his missing arm didn't distract him as much as he thought it would.

"Yeah, Percy!" Emmy cheered. Percy was vaguely aware of the two of them running behind him as he skateboarded down the hall.

I think that's a big enough step for one day. He decided when he reached the end of the hall. Getting off his board, he stepped on the end and kicked it up so he could grab it.

"Way to go, Perce." Frank congratulated him with a grin.

"That felt great." Percy admitted. "I haven't ridden since the accident."

Emmy smiled up at him.

"Hey, Percy!" Someone shouted down the hall.

"Let's get out of here." Frank muttered.

"No, wait a minute." Emmy said suddenly. "Stall them for a few moments while I figure something out."

"Okay..." Percy and Frank exchanged glances as Emmy turned her back to them and the approaching group of people.

"So, what are you doing after school?" Annabeth asked conversationally as she walked up to the two.

"Dunno, but you aren't coming."

"No, you don't get it, I just wanted to see if you wanted to come hang out with us or something."

Frank frowned. "Why would we?"

"Come on, I just want to hang out with you guys again, we just want to hang out again."

"Does it have anything to do with my uncle?" Percy asked, acid in his voice.

The silence he received in return was answer enough.

"Look, Percy," Annabeth finally started. "Just let us explain some-"

Emmy pushed between Percy and Frank and faced off with the group of teens.

"Guys, this is Emmy! I met her at lunch a few days ago!" Leo exclaimed.

"Hey Emmy. Do you want to hang out with us?"

"Why would I?" She asked. "You're harassing my friends! I'm surprised Percy doesn't have a restraining order against you crazy people! I can see what you really want, you just want to get close to him! He's not a person to you anymore, he's a means to an end. That's sick and disgusting!"

Emmy ranted on, and Percy stared at her in shock. She had told him that she tended to drop into a Scottish accent when she was angry, but right now she was pulling off a perfect American one.

At least he assumed so, since he couldn't hear any 'accent' in her voice. She had tried to explain to him what his accent sounded like, but he thought he just sounded normal.

"So why don't you and your little clique just turn around and walk away before I make you!" Emmy barked.

The group stared at her before slowly walking off. They seemed surprised with the small transfer's outburst.

Percy decided then and there.

He was going to tell Emmy the whole story.

[A/N So someone told me that America's Netflix has taken Doctor Who down and I can't check right now because I don't have the password for mine and I can't get onto it on my Chromebook I'm scREAMING]
