On My Father's Wings-Quest for Camelot

Percy POV

Poseidon drove me back to the tower in silence. I wanted to wipe off my makeup, but getting it all over my sweater would make Mom annoyed.

"Pull in the alley. I'll text Clint to open the back garage." I told my dad as we turned onto the street where Stark Tower was.

'Barton, can you hit the hatch on the back door?'

I got a response immediately.

'On it.'

And he was. By the time Dad had driven behind the huge building, the door was already raised. We drove in and it closed behind us. Clint was standing there waiting.

"So you got Tony's crack?" He asked as I got out.

"Yep." I walked to the trunk.

"And who drove you back?"

"Hello, Clint." Poseidon stepped out of the car.

Clint raised an eyebrow at him. "Haven't seen you in a while."

"Commitments." Poseidon said simply.

"Do you want to come in, Dad?" I offered hesitantly.

"No, I think it's better I go."

"Why?" I asked.

"I don't want to inconvenience your mother."

I frowned at him. "Mom will be fine with you coming upstairs."

Poseidon looked at Clint. "Does he know?"

Clint shrugged. "No. Not my story to tell. Sally will tell him when she's ready."

"What will she tell me?" I asked.

"Percy? JARVIS said you...oh. Hello Poseidon." Mom has stepped out of the elevator.

"Sally." Poseidon smiled at her. "I was just going."

"No, you don't have to leave."

"It would be for the best."

I waved my arm in the air. "What am I missing here? Hello?"

Mom looked at me. "Long story short honey, I've met someone."

"Oohhh." I dragged the word out. "Now I get it."

"Really, I've got to go." Poseidon said. "And it's not because of Paul, Sally."

"No, stay. You don't get a chance to ever spend time with Percy."

"I can't." Poseidon insisted.

Mom crossed her arms. "Why not?"

The god of the ocean sighed. "Because Zeus has ordered Olympus to shut down. Threats are rising that he doesn't think we can prevail against."

Mom's eyes flashed. "I don't care what Zeus says. He has no demigod children and if he did he wouldn't have any love for them anyway. Come upstairs and spend some time with your son."

Poseidon started to argue, but she glared at him angrily.

"Alright, I'll come up." He finally conceded. Mom smiled and turned, walking towards the elevator.

I snickered. "Was she like that when you were with her?"

"Even more so." Poseidon chuckled and followed my mom.

Tony was on us as soon as we got through the elevator doors. "Did you get Monster?"

"Yes."

"And Rockstar?"

"I got all of them." I told him.

"Good. Oh hey, big guy." Tony didn't even look at my dad, just grabbed the box of energy drinks he was holding and scurried back to his 'lair' of a computer room.

"Did he take a nap?" I asked Mom.

"What do you think?" She replied.

I sighed. "Did he drink some water?"

"Probably not." Steve walked into the room. He stopped in surprise when he saw Poseidon.

"Lord Poseidon." He said respectfully.

"Rogers." Poseidon offered his hand. "You seem to be doing well enough for your age."

"Dermatologists hate him." Nat called as she walked past the kitchen doorway.

I snorted and Steve rolled his eyes. "That's gonna get old some day Natasha."

"Not before you do." She responded.

Poseidon chuckled. "Miss Romanoff, sharp witted as ever."

"Of course!" She called as she passed again, before disappearing in the direction of her room.

"Oh by the way, Percy, I made cookies while you were gone." Mom commented casually as she started down the hallway. "I'm going to check on your uncle. They're in the kitchen!"

I glanced at Steve and my dad, then leapt over the couch and made a mad dash for the kitchen. The two of them were right behind me.

A tray of chocolate chip cookies was sitting on the counter. I scooped two up and stuffed one in my mouth whole, then grabbed two more.

"Percy, save some for everyone else." Steve said, snatching one from my hand. Poseidon laughed and grabbed one from the tray.

"Nope. You know they're my favorite. If I don't stash them, Tony and Thor are gonna eat all of them."

"And your mom will make you more." Steve pointed out.

"They'll eat those too!" I insisted, grabbing a cookie to replace the one he took.

"I'm sure if you asked your mother, she'd make you a batch that you can hide in your room." Poseidon said with a smile.

I squinted at him. "That...is a good idea."

"You should wash that makeup off." Steve said suddenly.

"Huh? Oh, yeah." I nodded. "Probably a good idea."

I turned the faucet on and pulled the contact out of my eye, tossing it in the garbage. I pulled the wig off and used the water from the faucet to wash the makeup off.

The colored water ran down the sink and I made a mental note to return Natasha's wig and wig cap later.

"Better?" I asked Steve.

He cringed jokingly. "Nope. Put it back on. How horrifying."

I rolled my eyes at him and Poseidon's booming laugh filled the room.
