Home-Chris Daughtry
Third Person POV
Percy made sure no one followed him home, not that it mattered much. His former friends knew where his uncle lived, Tony was rather unhelpful that way. If they wanted to talk to him, they'd show up there whether they had followed him or not.
His phone vibrated in his pocket and he pulled it out, his lips twitching down into a scowl when he read the message.
It was from Leo and it read, 'Are you going to be at school tomorrow? Can you sign my autograph book? Will you show me your wings so I can get a picture? I won't post it, I promise!'
Right then and there, Percy decided.
He was almost to the Tower, so he figured he could wait the little while.
"How are you doing today, Perseus?" JARVIS asked once he reached the elevator.
"Just peachy." Percy growled. He was in a foul mood and he was not going to hide it for some robot that his uncle made.
"Sarcasm noted." JARVIS said, somewhat dryly. Percy's favorite thing about JARVIS was that the AI was one of the most human things he had ever met. Tony had laced JARVIS' entire programming with sarcasm and the ability to lie. Even with how he was feeling after the school day, he had to smile a little at the shade that had just been thrown at him by a technically inanimate object.
"How was your day, Percy?" His mom asked when he reached the Avengers' floor.
"It sucked." Percy told her. He refrained from using stronger language, only because he knew she wouldn't approve. He almost told her what he wanted to do, but something stopped him.
"Why was that?" Tony asked from the couch.
"This." Percy pulled up the picture Frank had sent him and threw his phone to his uncle.
"Son of a-"
"Anthony, do not finish that sentence."
"Honest, Sally, it's bad." Tony handed her the phone and she read the text quickly.
"Oh, Percy. That's horrible. Were they pestering you?"
"Until I threatened to beat the crap out of them."
His mother sighed. "Percy, violence is not the answer to things like this."
"Well it sure is a good deterrent." Percy muttered. "I'm going to my room."
He grabbed his phone from his mom and trudged down the hall.
"Percy, where's Frank?"
"He's going to visit his grandmother today, she's been having some health problems."
Frank's grandmother was sick and in an assisted living home. Frank went to visit her once in a while, and now the woman's condition was getting worse. Frank thought it wouldn't be long until she passed, and he had confessed to Percy that even though she was a hard and harsh woman, he loved her.
Percy heard his mom saying something about a 'poor dear' as he opened the door to his room.
"Hey, PJ." Clint had just opened the door to his room. "You busy?"
"No."
"Want to help me with something?" The assassin stretched his arms above his head, eliciting a series of quiet pops from various joints in his body.
"Not particularly." Percy said.
Immediately, Clint was looking at him with a concerned face. "Everything okay, Percy?"
"No!" Percy exploded. "Nothing is okay! My entire day has sucked! And you know why?! Because my stupid, nosy ex-girlfriend is a sneak and can't keep her mouth shut when she figures something out and she's going to ruin my life! I just don't want to deal with anything right now so I'm going to lock myself in my room and take a nap!"
Clint just nodded. "If you need to talk, come find me." He walked off down the hall.
Percy watched him go, surprised by his reaction to all the yelling. Usually Clint would try and calm him down then help him through the problem or get him to forget about it by distracting him with something else.
The man seemed to know that this wasn't something that one could just take their mind off of or fix in a snap.
Percy took a deep breath and went into his room, closing the door behind him. He kicked off his shoes and pulled off his shirt, leaving him in only his jeans.
He flopped onto his back on his bed and closed his eyes, wishing the day were over.
---------------------------
"Percy!" The son of Poseidon jerked awake at the sound of someone shouting his name.
Clint, to be specific.
"What?" Percy called sleepily.
"Thor's back!" Clint informed him.
Percy pulled himself to his feet. Thor was always a riot to hang out with. The big man didn't quite understand all 'Midgardian' technology, but he was a good spar and a helpful advisor, in the wierd, backwards way that his brain worked.
Pulling on a sweatshirt and running a hand through his hair, Percy opened the door to his room and headed for the living room.
"Perseus!" A loud voice boomed.
Percy smiled lightly. "It's Percy, Thor."
The huge Asgardian smiled down at him. "Of course, Percy. I always forget. How is my son of gods?"
"The phrase is godson, Thor."
[A/N yay Thor! What do you think Percy's idea that he decided on is? Also, I changed the title and added a video cause I forgot this is the fic that I title with songs]
