Have You Seen My Son?- Benjamin Booker
Third Person POV
Tony sat on the couch in the dark, brooding.
A mostly empty bottle of scotch sat on the table next to his arm and what had been a 5'o'clock shadow was now bordering on 'I haven't slept or shaved in three days,' which was actually true in this case.
"Tony, are you still awake?" Sally's voice echoed down the hall as her footsteps shuffled closer.
Tony grunted in response.
"Why aren't you sleeping? And... Anthony, have you been drinking?" Sally accused, entering the room.
Another grunt.
Sally sighed and flicked on the lights in the room.
"Sal!" Tony groaned in pain.
"Tony, getting wasted is not going to help the situation!" Sally reprimanded, grabbing the bottle of scotch and tucking it under her arm to throw away later.
"Helps m' f'rget." The man mumbled.
"Forget what, exactly?" Sally snapped.
"That 'm useless." He drew out the word useless, sighing loudly.
"You are not useless."
"Am too! Can't find 'im. Can't he'p 'im. Useless!" Tony grabbed the glass he'd been pouring his scotch into and hurled it at the wall. The crystal shattered.
"Anthony Edward, you are not useless! And getting drunk because you think you are is not going to help the situation!"
Tony glowered at her stubbornly and Sally sighed, deciding to change tactics.
"Would Percy want to see you like this? You know he hates seeing you drunk."
That did the trick. Tony froze and slowly looked at his feet. He turned and lumbered off.
"Where are you going?" Sally called after, making sure he wasn't going to do something stupid.
"Shower." Was the gruff reply she received.
Sally sighed as her brother left the room and began to clean up the mess he'd left. Sweeping the destroyed remains of the glass into a pile, she carefully picked them up and dumped them in the garbage, sending the bottle of scotch in after.
For Tony to be that desperate that he had turned to his drinking again showed just how bad the situation was.
Frank was staying the weekend to try and help, Bruce and Tony were regularly going over the camera footage in the area, Tasha and Clint were taking in favors with anyone they could that might be able to help them. Steve and Thor had been searching any nearby areas that could have served as a base for a kidnapping.
"Of course!"
Sally jumped as Tony ran into the room, his shirt off. He'd been getting ready for his shower, what happened now?
"Tony, wha-"
"How was I so stupid?" Tony ran right past her and continued on, heading for the nearest room with a computer.
Sally followed, wondering what her eccentric brother was up to now.
"JARVIS, get Bruce down here!" Tony ordered as he plopped into a chair, his momentum carrying him sideways and away from the computer. He latched onto the desk and pulled himself back, then began to type aggressively.
"Yes sir."
"Tony, what are you doing?" Sally asked.
"I think I can find him!"
"What the heck is going on?" Bruce stumbled into the room, rubbing sleep from his eyes.
"Help me hack into the camera systems for the intersections in this area." Tony ordered.
"You think you can find Percy?" Sally asked as Bruce moved to the other computer and also began to type furiously.
"Yes." Tony responded shortly.
The computer emitted a series of electronic chirps and Bruce pumped a fist in the air. "Got it!"
Tony pulled up the image that had been sent to his computer and began to sift through videos.
"I need Frank. JARVIS!"
"Already on it, sir."
Sally watched in silence as the two men worked furiously.
"Whazz goin' on?" Frank slurred sleepily, appearing in the doorway.
"What intersection were you on when you found Percy's skateboard?"
Instantly Frank was awake and frowning.
"Um...49th and 7th."
Tony punched in the coordinates and began to scan the videos. Bruce abandoned his computer and came to watch over the genius' shoulder. Sally and Frank joined him.
"There! Stop!" Frank shouted.
Tony froze the video, but he didn't see what the teen had pointed out.
"Rewind, slowly."
Tony did so and they focused on the blue skateboard that was lying on the street.
A van passed in front of it, going backwards as the video rewound, then Percy appeared.
"It was the van! Play it forward slowly."
They watched a hooded figure get out of the van and crack Percy over the head with a baseball bat when he wasn't looking, then witnessed him being dragged into the van, leaving the skateboard. The van took off and a few moments later, Frank turned the corner in the video.
"I just missed them." The boy murmured.
"JARVIS, get that van's license and find it's route." Tony ordered, rubbing his face.
"Yes, sir."
"We need to discuss a plan of attack for when we find the hideout where they took him." Bruce said.
"I have a plan." Tony snapped.
"And what would that be?"
Tony and Frank answered Sally's question at the same time.
"Attack."
Tony stood. "Get the others up. We're going as soon as I have an address."
