It makes me smile 😃
The next morning, I woke up to the voice of Patsy Cline singing Walkin' after Midnight on my alarm clock from my phone. After I finished my morning routine, took a shower, I quickly put on my clothes for the day, which consisted of my gray Elvis Presley shirt, light blue jean shorts, and my white converse, with my hair pulled up in a high ponytail. As I walked down the concrete path toward the dining hall to meet my family, I scanned the resort to see if I could spot Aaron anywhere. I wondered if he'd remember me from last night, I thought to myself smiling. When I met my family, ate a quick breakfast, talked about our plans for today, we all went to play a game of Simon Says since my parents thought it'd be a great start to our day.
After playing the game, won and did my happy dance, my sister and I decided to go to the "Wig Show" which Julianne, who was wearing a red polka dotted buttoned up shirt, dark blue shorts, gold heels and her hair pinned up in a bun, was in charge of, to try on a wig, while I tried on a beach hat from the 1960s. My dad was over at a table playing cards with Mr.Kellerman and Mr.Schumacher. "What do think?" I asked her as I looked in the vanity mirror. "I like it. It makes you look like Audrey Hepburn." Lela said smiling while I laughed as she put on a brown short wig on her head while she smoothed her gray-white striped dress with white flats. "Ladies, you look very lovely." Aaron said to us while walking up to Julianne with a clipboard in hand, looking handsome as ever, wearing a dark blue buttoned up shirt, black pants, and black converse, with his hair like it alway was. "So I said, 'Ask not what your waiter can do for you, but what you can do for your waiter.' " Ricky, who was wearing his everyday waiter attire, said as he knelt down beside Lela, who smiled at him. "If I keep up enough tips, I'll have enough for my Alfa Romero." Ricky said while winking at her. "How did you know that's my favorite car?" Lela asked as he held her hand. "Waiter's intuition, I guess." Ricky said laughing along with her as I rolled my eyes. There's something fishy about him, I thought to myself while I put my hat back in it's place as Lela and Ricky made plans for that night before Ricky left. "Nikki, can you cover for me tonight, tell mommy and daddy that I went to rest my head?" Lela asked me smiling as she put her wig back on while staring at Ricky as he walked away. "Lela, where are you going tonight? Tonight's Waltz Night at the Gazebo." I said crossing my arms. "To the golf course with Ricky. There's a great view from the first tee." Lela said smiling at me before I told her I'd cover for her while she's on her date tonight as I looked over at Aaron thanking Julianne before giving her a friendly kiss on the cheek and leaving to go off to his next daily task. While everyone left, I decided to go and help Julianne pack her wigs back into her white carry-on. "Hey, is it really true that you were a professional dancer and a judge on Dancing With The Stars? I just think your an amazing dancer." I said as I helped her with her wig supplies while she picked up the wigs. "Yeah, well I decided that at age 18 college wasn't my thing so I went to New York City, a few years later became a professional dancer, went on Dancing with the Stars with my brother Derek, and I've been dancing ever since then. It's the only thing that I've ever wanted to do since I took a break from acting." She said to me while she picked up hairbrushes. "You wanna know something, I envy you." I said giving her a small smile as she locked up her carry-on.
That night, after I told my parents that Lela was too sick to come hangout with us, I put on my blue floral dress with dark blue, light blue and white flowers, white flats, brought my blue sweater in case I got cold and curled my hair. My mom wore a white lace dress, silver heels, her white pearl necklace, with her hair in a bun and my dad wore a gray suit jacket, white dress shirt, gray dress pants, his glasses and black dress shoes. When we got to the gazebo, the Infectious Cha-Cha was playing on the speakers from the IPod dock while we watched the other couples dance around us as me and my parents stood off to the side. Aaron, who was wearing a white suit jacket, white dress shirt with a black bow tie on his shirt, black dress pants and black dress shoes with his hair the same way as yesterday, was dancing with a redheaded woman, with her hair curled, who was wearing a long sequin black dress and black heels. She was dancing with him really close, way too close to comfort. "Aren't you gonna dance guys?" Mr.Kellerman asked coming up to us who was wearing a black suit, a white dress shirt, gray necktie, and black dress shoes. "We're waiting for a waltz." My mom told Mr.Kellerman as I stood by my dad while he nodded. "Hi Max, Aren't my dance lessons paying off?" The redheaded woman asked Mr.Kellerman. "You look great, Vicky! Terrific." Max said smiling at her. "Who's that woman, Mr.Kellerman?" I asked while my dad put a comforting arm around me. "That's Vicky Pressman. One of the cabin bunnies. That's what we call the women who stay here all weekend while their husbands are away working. Her husband, Mike Pressman, usually comes up on weekends, like the rest of em'. They play cards with us. He'll join our game soon." He explained to me as I was in shock that a woman like Vicky would cheat on her husband with a nice person like Aaron. "Is Mike coming here on Friday?" Mr.Kellerman asked Vicky, who was still dancing with Aaron. "Friday." Vicky said dreadfully to him. "Yeah, he's away a lot." Mr.Kellerman said to us. "It's gotta be a hardship." My mom said to us as we agreed. As I watched Aaron dance with the redheaded bombshell, Evan came over to talk to him. "Aaron, Where's Julianne? Everyone's been asking for her." Evan asked as he crossed his arms. Evan was wearing a gray suit jacket, white buttoned up shirt, hair like usual, black dress pants and black dress shoes. "Why are you me asking where Julianne's at? Evan, she's taking a break! She needs a break!" Aaron exclaimed to him as he shoved his chest. "Well, let's hope it's not an all night break." He said towards him as Evan nodded his head and walked up to me. "Come on, Nik. Let's take a walk." Evan said as he pulled me away from my folks.
"Man, I love watching your hair blow in the breeze." Evan said as I looked up from my phone ignoring every word that he said. "I think my parents are looking for me." I said as I tried to make a quick escape from the bridge. "Nikki, don't worry. If they know your with me, they'll be the happiest married couple at Kellerman's Resort Hotel." He said putting his arm around me. "I kinda have to say it. I'm known of the catch of the Resort around here." Evan said smiling at me. "Wow, I'm sure you are." I said giggling while crossing my arms. "Last week, I took a girl away from James the lifeguard. And he said to her right in front of me, 'What does he have that I don't?' And she said, 'Two great soundtracks, what about you?'" He told me as I laughed. "Ricky!" I heard my sister's voice exclaim as I looked below the bridge. Lela was wearing a black dress with pink and yellow roses on it, a hot pink headband in her hair, pink flats and her black hair curled, which now had grass from the golf course in it and her dress ripped from one of the tree branches. Ricky was wearing a blue sweater vest, beige pants, and brown dress shoes with his hair slicked back. "I don't hear an apology from you!" She exclaimed while getting some of the grass out of her curled hair. "Go back to your mommy & daddy, Lela. Maybe you'll hear one in your dreams." He laughed as he walked off while she stormed towards him. "Wow, that was harsh." I said thinking out loud. "I'm sorry you had to see that Nikki. But, sometimes in this world we see things that we don't wanna see." Evan said putting a comforting arm around me. "Are you hungry?" He asked me smiling. "I guess I could eat." I said shrugging my shoulders. "Come on." He said taking my hand and leading me down the steps. Once we got to the staff kitchen, he lead me to the fridge. "So, Nikki, what do ya want? You can have anything that you want." Evan said looking in the fridge naming off the different types of food that I could eat as I saw a woman crying wearing her dark red dress, gold heels and her hair curled. What's Julianne doing in the kitchen, I thought to myself. Thinking quick on my feet, I decided to go get Bobby, Aaron & Elizabeth to help out. "Um.... Listen Evan, I'm actually not that hungry. I think that it'd be best to check on Lela. You know, just to make sure she's doing ok." I said to him as I closed the fridge. "Are you sure?" He asked me worried. "Yeah." I said nodding my head as we walked out of there together.
After Evan walked off to talk to Tito about something, I ran to where Elizabeth and Bobby were standing and told them about Julianne as Bobby went to get Aaron, who was dancing the waltz with an older woman. Elizabeth was wearing a red Kellerman's staff buttoned up short sleeved shirt, black jean shorts, and white converse, with her hair in a high ponytail. Bobby was wearing his red Kellerman's staff t-shirt with the Resort's name in gold lettering on the front, dark blue jeans, black converse and his hair slicked back like yesterday. "What's she doing here?" Aaron asked sternly towards me as we all walked up the path to the staff's kitchen. "I brought her along with us in case Mr.Rockstar came back." Elizabeth said to us as we walked alongside Aaron and Bobby. "Jules just doesn't think." Aaron said fixing his jacket . "She wouldn't do anything crazy, would she?" Bobby asked him. "No, she'd never do anything like that." Aaron said shaking his head. "Why? Is there something wrong with Julianne?" I asked Bobby. "She's twisted her ankle, so she can't dance anymore." Bobby said to me as we continued walking up the path while an older couple, walked past us, overheard him. "Bobby!" Aaron exclaimed angrily at him. "What? She needs to know." Elizabeth said to him. "What's he gonna do about it?" I asked as Aaron stopped in his tracks. "'What's he gonna do about it?'" Oh, so immediately you think it's my fault. Right away you just think I had something to do with it." Aaron said standing in front of me. "But, I thought that-" I said as he put his hand in front of me. "You wouldn't understand." Aaron said shaking his head and running towards the staff's kitchen to get Julianne. After Aaron carried Julianne and took her all the way back to the staff quarters, I decided to stay there with them to make sure she was ok. "What in the world did you think you were doing? You know that if your ever in trouble, you can talk to me. You should've came to me in the beginning." Aaron said as he put his white jacket around Julianne's shoulders as I handed her a bottle of water. "No way, Aaron. I'm not taking what's left of your salary." Julianne said sitting on the couch as she took a sip of water. "Jules, that's my business to worry about, not yours." He said as he sat in a chair across from her. "Besides, you know it won't be enough." She said crying as Elizabeth gave her a tissue. "Oh, who am I kidding, it's hopeless." She said wiping her tears away. "No, don't say anything like that. I know there's gotta be a way to work it out." I said putting some positiveness into the situation. "Nikki? Is that your name? Well, you wanna know something, Nikki? You don't know nothing about me or my problems." She said taking another sip of water. "I kinda told her." Bobby said putting his hands in his pockets as Elizabeth stood beside him. "Man, Bobby. Now she's gonna go and tell her little rockstar boyfriend and we're all getting fired. Why not skywrite it "Julianne Hough got her ankle broken purposely by Ricky: The Jerk." She said putting on a fake smile. "Wait a second, Ricky did this to you?"
I asked her wide eyed. "Now, you look here!" Aaron exclaimed angrily as Elizabeth stood in front of him to stop a fight from happening. "Nikki, one of the staff members knows a doctor, who's a real M.D., that's coming down here for one day next week. I can get her an appointment but the problem is that it costs $250." Bobby told me as I stood there in shock. "$250 for a doctor's appointment, that's insane." I said to him. "But what about Ricky?" Elizabeth said to her. "Yeah, I know he probably has the money. I'm sure if you told him about it then he'd help you out." I said smiling at her. "He wouldn't wanna help me out even if he tried." Julianne said to me upsettingly. "Why don't you just go back to your little playpen, Nikki? We don't need little girls like you coming to help out the adults." Aaron said to me as he walked up to me with a smug smile on his face as he drank his water bottle. "I'm gonna fix this." I told him as Elizabeth and I walked out the door while Bobby stayed behind to help them.
