A Chance
Pacifica Northwest was scared. Her fiancé came home drunk again. He was abusive when he was drunk, much like her father. This time, he brought a girl with him too. She wondered what happened to the charming gentleman that she had had fallen in love with. She had dated him for ten years. But it meant nothing to him. There was no one left she could trust in Kinky, Montana. She wrote a letter and left it on the table, along with her ring. The letter was simple, it said: Screw you Austin, I hate you. She left the house never to come back. She needed to go to a place where she felt at home.
Gravity Falls

Mason Pines was lovesick. He had been for the last ten years. The person who he fell in love with after Wendy just HAD to be Pacifica Northwest. He had lost contact with her 3 years ago, 2 years before she got proposed to by that bum Austin. Austin Ottoman had a rich father, so Pacifica's parents approved of the relationship. But they didn't approve of ANY sort of contact with the Pines. So they forced her to cut off contact with them. He hadn't seen her in person in 5 years. He missed her laugh, her jokes, her cute pouty face, her personality, really, all of her. Even her (probably fake) blonde hair.
Mason sighed as he ate his pine tree shaped pancakes. It was Pines-week in Gravity Falls, made to celebrate the Pines family and their defeat of Bill Cipher in Weirdmageddon 12 years ago. When this week came around, Mason always started thinking about Pacifica. Suddenly, a red head who was wearing a black sweater with an axe on it, sat down to the right of him.
"Hey Wendy."
"What's wrong Mason."
"Nothing much, just that this week always makes me think about her."
"Oh yeah, I'm sorry for bothering you now that you've entered the lovesick faze." Wendy rolled her eyes.
"Wendy, I get it, I need to move on, but it's not exactly easy. You've been lucky, having people fawn over you, but I'm not exactly 'hot stuff'" Mason stated, putting air quotes around hot stuff.
"Look I get it, but she's probably never coming back to this town."
"I know Wendy. I just need some space."
"Alright, I'll give you some time."
"Thanks for the talk anyways Wendy."
"No problem Mason."
With that she walked away, leaving Mason even deeper in his thoughts.

As she entered Gravity Falls, Pacifica Northwest noticed streamers and balloons everywhere, along random merchandise stands along the road. She then remembered it was Pines-Week. She smiled, thinking maybe she could see Stan Pines, the Pines with 6 fingers, Waddles, Mabel, and........
Pacifica stopped thinking. She didn't want to think about him. She had always really liked him. He was the most wonderful person she had ever met, but her parents pushed her to marry Austin, despite her not really liking him. He was an ok person at times, but she didn't like him when he was drunk, and he was always drunk. Dipper on the other hand was kind, hilarious, nerdy, and, though she hated to admit, handsome. He never touched a drink in his life. Well, as far as she knew, at least. She hadn't seen him in 3 years. She sighed and told the taxi driver to drop her off here. She left him a huge tip for driving her all the way from Salem. She looked up to see Greasy's Diner. She smiled, remembering the last time she was here. There was a huge food fight. Pacifica actually took part, throwing an ice cream sundae at an 18 year old Dipper. Dipper wasn't very happy about that, so he covered her in his nachos. Then she frowned remembering something else. That was the last time she ever saw Dipper.
Pacifica walked in the diner and sat down to the left of a very sad looking man. He was tall and thin, and it looked as though he hadn't ate in a while. He looked very familiar, but couldn't tell from where. She also thought he was quite good looking, despite the way he was at the moment. She ordered her food, and ate in silence for a while. She noticed a redhead woman sit down next to the man and talked to him. She eavesdropped on their conversation, but only heard words like "lovesick" and "never coming back". The woman got up and left then. Pacifica decided to address the man.
"Hey, are you ok? You don't look too well." The man turned to see who talked to him. He gave her a sad smile.
"Yeah, I'm ok. I just feel sad this time of year." Pacifica knitted her brows.
"Why? It's Pines-week. Shouldn't you be happy?" The man laughed without humor. Pacifica recognized the laugh, but he couldn't tell from where.
"There is someone I haven't seen in years, and the last time I saw her, it was during Pines-week."
"Oh, so, you liked her, huh?" The man smiled sadly.
"Well, yes, but she had a boyfriend." Pacifica mouthed the word "oh"
"Why didn't you tell her before she had a boyfriend then?" The man thought this over.
"Well, if I told her that I liked her, she would've thought that I liked her because she was rich. But that isn't true. In fact, she was kind and caring, unselfish, and always happy. She had a beautiful laugh and smile, a great personality, and what's more, she was beautiful herself, with or without the makeup, but I don't think she ever understood that."
Pacifica started tearing up at the mans' confession.
"That's beautiful."
"I know." Pacifica smiled at his bluntness. She spoke.
"I felt that way about of a friend of mine, but my parents made me keep my boyfriend, and eventually, I almost married him."
"What happened?" The man asked.
"Well, our wedding was supposed to be today, but he cheated on me with another girl. Plus, he's always drunk. So screw him."
"Good for you." There was silence for a moment. Pacifica spoke then.
"Do you know where I can find Dipper Pines?" The man visibly flinched. "He's an old friend of mine and I haven't seen him in ages and I want to catch up with him."
"No one has called me Dipper since Pacifica Northwest left town." Pacifica's eyes shot up to the man, who was looking at her in shock
"Dipper?" Pacifica asked, shocked.
"Pacifica?" The man asked, also shocked.
Pacifica couldn't believe how much he had grown. He was very tall, though he was still thin. She, the other hand, hadn't grown much. She was only 5'4, but looked more mature.
"Dipper, wow, you grew a lot. No wonder I didn't recognize you." Pacifica giggled at his stunned face. He finally came to his senses and smiled.
"And you are still short as always." Pacifica puffed her cheeks out and pretended to be mad. Dipper laughed at the cute expression. Pacifica couldn't stay mad at him though. Seeing him again was fantastic.
"So wait, you broke up with Austin?"
"Don't be surprised, you always knew he was a jackass." Dipper smiled.
"I know everything."
"You didn't know I broke up with Austin."
"Now I do."
Pacifica looked down for a second before remembering something.
"You said you liked someone who was rich, right?" Dipper looked confused.
"Yes?"
"And they had a boyfriend, right?" Dipper saw where she was going with this.
"I'm not going to answer anymore questions."
"Dipper Pines." She looked him in the eyes.
"That person wouldn't happen to be Pacifica Northwest would it?" Dipper blushed furiously.
"N-No, I-I don't know what you're talking about." Pacifica got up real close in Dipper's face. If possible, his blush deeper.
"Yeah right. Thanks for the compliments Dipstick." She stuck her tongue out at him. He frowned.
"That was mean."
"I did what I had to." Then Pacifica started to blush.
"Well, I don't have a boyfriend anymore, so, um, would you like to go somewhere with me tonight? I haven't been in town for a while and I could use someone to show me around." Dipper smiled.
"Why not. Come to the Mystery shack at Six?"
"Sure." Dipper got up, and just before he left he spoke.
"By the way, you can call me Mason now." Pacifica giggled.
"Naw, I prefer Dipstick."
"Ok Paz, if you say so." Then he walked out of the restaurant.
Pacifica smiled. She would be happy to give him a chance.
