Bulletproof Love (Dipcifica)

So this is one of those chapters that goes along with a song. You might have seen one of these in another fanfic book. So I just hit a great point in my life where I discovered this amazing band called Pierce The Veil. They wrote this song. I can't stop listening to it.

Bulletproof Love by Pierce The Veil (lyric video above)

Prepare yourself, because this is a long one.

Okie, I hope you enjoy

I breathe you in with smoke in the backyard lights

Dipper and Pacifica laughed together, laying on their backs in the backyard of the shack, their fingers intertwined together. The meteors above shot by, there and gone in a matter of seconds. Pacifica poured herself some more champagne as the two enjoyed the 2 year anniversary of their first date.

We used to laugh until we choked into the wasted nights

Dipper and Pacifica made a toast. "To another year of happiness" Pacifica declared, and Dipper continued; "May nothing but laughter, love and life come from this year." They raised their glasses high, clinking them together and falling back onto the grass pillow of the earth.

It was the best time of my life, but now I sleep alone

The dream faded and Dipper awoke. He rolled over in his empty bed and softly cried into the pillow. He missed her terribly, but she had left for LA a year ago. She was following her dream, but he was missing his.

He cried himself to sleep that night, just as he had every night since she left. No one but Mabel was aware of all the pain he was going through. Some parts of him hoped she would come back, but other parts of him had shriveled up and died on the possibility.

So don't, don't, don't wake me up, 'cause my thrill is gone

He fell asleep, wet tears drenching the pillow. He was restless the rest of the night, tossing and turning endlessly under the covers. He knew this wasn't healthy for him. He hadn't had a proper night's sleep in weeks. He decided he would try to forget Pacifica.

He woke up the next morning feeling better. He got up and went through his normal morning routine, then went to the kitchen of his small apartment. He made some toast and nuked some microwaveable bacon. He ate slow, trying not to think about Pacifica. When he was done with breakfast, he went through his large bookshelf and threw out all of the photo albums of him and Pacifica. You can't be your own puppet master if the old strings are still attached. He was letting her go, not sure if he could ever get anyone like her again.

Dipper heard a soft knock on the door of his apartment . He answered it, seeing Mabel standing at the entryway. "Oh, hey sis. How are you doing?" Dipper asks, pulling Mabel into an awkward sibling hug.

"I'm doing great, how about you, Sir Dippingsauce?" She giggled. "I'm doing alright. I finally decided I would at least try to get over Pacifica, so hopefully that goes well." Mabel looked down, as though she was trying to hide something. She instantly brightened back up and smiled a huge smile. "Want to come to lunch with me today?" She asked. "Well sure, I guess." Dipper said, "It's 11 now, wanna just stay here and chill until we go?" Mabel nodded, grabbing the TV remote.

In the sunset turning red behind the smoke, forever and alone

~later~

The twins stepped into Greasy's Diner and sat at a booth for four people. "Mabel, there is a table for two over there." Dipper said. Mabel grinned mischievously. "No, let's sit here. I like this one better." Dipper shrugged as Lazy Susan walked to the table and handed them menus.

"There's my favorite twins! How are you two doing?" She asked excitedly. "We're doing great, Susan. Thanks for asking." Dipper replied. "Well can I get you two something to drink?" She asked the two. "Can I get a sweet tea?" Mabel said. "And I'll take a coke." Dipper added. "Alrighty! I'll give you two some time to look over the menu. And tell your Uncle Stan I said hi." Lazy Susan said, walking back to the kitchen.

Dipper smiled. "I can't believe those two haven't gotten together yet." Mabel laughed. "Tell me about it. Maybe we can get Love God to come to town." She replied, and they shared a few laughs. Mabel glanced at her watch, then looked at the door. She should be here any minute now she thought to herself.

"Uhh, Mabel? Are you okay?" Her twin inquired. "Huh? Oh, yeah, yeah. I'm fine." Mabel replied quickly. Just then, she walked in the door.

Pacifica spotted Mabel sitting at a booth. She walked up to her, and Mabel stood and pulled her into a hug. "Hi Pacifica! So odd to bump into you here." Mabel said. "But Mabel, you invited me he-" Pacifica started, but Mabel cut her off. "What? No, no. Oh look! It's my brother! Pacifica, you've met Dipper, right?" She spoke, practically forcing Pacifica to sit in the booth.

"Mabel, what is going on?" Dipper asked, but she just smiled. "Well look at the time. I have to go to... uhh... the bathroom! I'll be right back, but in the meantime, why don't you two catch up?" Mabel said. "Mabel-" Pacifica said, but she had already ran out of the door.

Dipper eyed Pacifica nervously. "Well, it looks like we've been set up." Dipper said. "You see, I always knew you were smart." Pacifica said. They laughed and began to converse. They both knew the electricity was still there. After a while of talking, Dipper asked her, "So, wanna come to my place?" Pacifica smiled and nodded. She grabbed his hand and they walked out of the diner.

They arrived at the apartment, and you know how it goes. One thing led to another...

The two had been watching TV for a while, but then Pacifica decided she should leave. They both stood up and Dipper pulled her in for a hug. He had missed her embrace so much, just as she had missed his. Pacifica pulled back slightly, looking into his chocolate brown eyes. She leaned in, and what was at first a soft tender kiss soon turned in to a hot makeout session.

You've gone and sewn me to this bed, the taste of you and me

Dipper pinned her against the wall, his mouth never leaving hers. They pulled back for air, their eyes meeting. Pacifica intertwined her fingers with his and pushed him down onto the couch. She climbed on top and pulled off his flannel and T-Shirt, and he helped her slide out of her tight purple dress.

Will never leave my lips again under the blinding rain

The two fooled around for a while, but it had to end sometime. When the two separated and got dressed, Dipper remembered an email he had got from Ford. They were shooting off fireworks at the lake, and everyone in town was invited.

"Hey Paz, wanna go do something fun?" He asked her. "Why? Was what we just did not fun enough?" Pacifica said with a wink. Dipper rolled his eyes playfully. "Come on, you know what I mean. Please?" He begged. Pacifica smiled and pulled her hair up into a ponytail. "Of course I do."

I wanna hold your hand so tight I'm gonna break my wrist

Dipper grabbed her hand and lead her out of the apartment.

The two climbed into the car and drove off. Dipper knew a great spot on top of a hill to take her to. He had discovered it while mystery hunting when he was 14. He had always wanted to take her there. It was very private, and scenery was beautiful.

And when the vultures sing tonight I'm gonna join right in

Dipper pulled over his car on the side of some old dirt road and climbed out. He walked around the back end of the car and opened the door for her, holding out his hand to help her out. "M'lady." He said, bowing before her. She stepped out of the vehicle and curtseyed. "Why thank you, my good sir." She said in an elegant voice as Dipper took her arm in his. "Shall we go?" Dipper asked.

"Go where exactly?" Pacifica asked concerned. For all she knew, Dipper could have brought her out here to kill her with no witnesses. "I can't tell you, then it wouldn't be a surprise."

I'll sing along

They hiked through the forest for a while, stopping occasionally to observe the beauty of nature that surrounded them. Once they neared the top, Dipper covered Pacifica's eyes. "We're almost there." He reassured her, just as he had to do the whole way up.

Dipper had her sit down under the shade of a willow overlooking the lake. He pulled back his hands, and Pacifica looked around in amazement. The view was perfect. The gorgeous tree was surrounded by a flower field full of snow-white daisies and indigo morning glories. "Oh Dipper, it's perfect." Pacifica said, beaming.

'Cause I don't know any other song
I'll sing along

She picked flowers and made the both flower crowns. They sang along with the birds as the sun set over the mountains. The lake turned from blue to orange to black as a dark blanket covered the atmosphere. Dipper held Pacifica in his arms under the comfort of the tree.

"I'm so glad we're back together." Pacifica said. "Me too." Dipper replied, kissing her forehead. "I was worried I'd never see you again. Our breakup was pretty brutal, but I'm glad we're past it." He continued.

"You thought the breakup was brutal?" Pacifica asked him. "Well sure. I mean, when the love of your life tells you something else is more important to her than you, it kinda stings." He replied. Pacifica pulled back, now sitting across from him. "Well I wasn't going to give up my career for you. I got a job in fashion, in Hollywood! It was my dream!" Pacifica replied snappily.

But I'm barely hanging on

"Yeah?" Dipper asked. "Yeah." Pacifica replied. Needless to say they were both a little agitated at this point.

"Well I'm sorry I wasn't a part of your dream." Dipper said, crossing his arms over his chest.

Pacifica stood. "Oh no, don't you play that card. You know well that that's not how I meant it."

"Well then how did you mean it? Because you couldn't have possibly meant it as, 'I love you, but you don't matter right now.' Because if you really loved me, that wouldn't be a possibility. So please, enlighten me, because I sure as hell cant figure it out."

And now there's nothing to do but scream into the drunken moon

"We could have at least tried long-distance." He said. "Oh please, you know long distance never works out." She replied. At this point, Dipper was standing too. "Well it could have for us. If we loved each other that much, then-"

This isn't fair! Don't you try to blame this on me!

Pacifica cut him off. "Oh please! It took two people to break up this relationship."

"Two? What did I do?" Dipper asked. "You're the one who cheated on me!" Pacifica yelled at him. "I never cheated on you!" He yelled back.

"I saw you that night at the town square. I was walking home and I saw you. I went to go say hi, but you were with this other woman. I couldn't quite see her, but you hugged her. You were holding her hand and you left together. I was jealous and hurt for weeks, but you didn't notice. It took everything I had not to break a chair over your head every time I saw you! So don't you try to say our relationship was flawless until I left." Pacifica said.

My love for you was bulletproof but you're the one who shot me

"Pacifica..." Dipper began, but she cut him off. "No! I don't want to hear it. I'm leaving." She said, then she stormed off back into the now dark woods. As she left, he whispered to himself, "but I never cheated on you." What she had seen was him and Mabel. They were having a twin day. Mabel insisted that they had one every month.

Now he had broken up with her twice. In his whole life, he had never imagined he would even have to break up with her once. That they would get together and that would be it. They would get married and have kids together and die together. Now he lost her again.

Pacifica stormed through the woods. She had no idea where she was going. All she knew was she had to get away. All her old emotions were back. The fear, the rage, the depression. She just never thought he would cheat on her. Unless...

Pacifica flashed back to that night. She focused on the girl that was with Dipper. She was wearing a pink sweater and a skirt and she had long dark hair...

"Oh Gosh." Pacifica said. The girl was Mabel. She had been worried for nothing this whole time. Not only that, but she actually had him back. Everything was great, but she had to bring it up. She didn't let him explain. She was the one who stormed out both times. She just kept screwing it up with him.

Goddamnit, I can barely say your name

She was infuriated. Not with Dipper, not with Mabel, but with herself. She was never going to be able to face them again. Pacifica heard explosions. She peered through the trees to see reds and greens and yellows and oranges take over the sky. Dipper thought to take her to a firework show on top of a mountain, and she repaid him by stomping on his heart.

So I'll write it and fill the pen with blood from the sink

She was so angry, she just had the urge to punch something. She slammed her fist into the trunk of a nearby oak tree. She did this over and over again as the tears streamed down her cheeks. Her knuckles became bloody on the harsh wood of the tree, but she didn't care. She lay her back on the tree and slumped down, covering her face with her cold, bleeding hands.

Just then, she heard a rustling in the bushes. She leaned towards it, glaring in attempt to get a better perspective. A beast covered in grass and dirt arose from the bushes, standing about 10 feet tall. It swooped her up and ran off with her. "HELP!" She screamed out. "SOMEONE, ANYONE! PLEASE!"

But don't just say it, you should sing my name

Dipper was walking back to his car. He was cautious to stay on the route, because there were so many ways to get lost in these woods.

He heard a scream. He recognized the voice anywhere.

"Pacifica..." he said groggily. He knew that she had just stormed off on him, but she was still the woman he loved. Before he could even think, he ran towards the sound. As he got closer and closer, his heartbeat got louder and louder. All he could hear were the screams echoing through the woods, and his pulse ringing in his ears.

The screams and cries stopped. He thought to himself, am I too late?

He heard muffled words nearby. He followed them cautiously until they were clear. He peered out from behind a tree trunk and saw a large, hairy beast tying Pacifica to a tree. He recognized him anywhere.

"Manotaur! Step back." Dipper said, stepping out from behind the tree.

Manotaur laughed. "Well, if it isn't Little Dipper." He said, Dipper turning red hot at the mention of his most-hated nickname.

"Don't call me that. My name is Dipper." He said, pushing up his sleeves. "Oh no, please don't hurt me!" Manotaur mocked. "What are you gonna do?"

"This." Dipper said, jumping onto the Manotaur's back. He wrapped his arms around his neck and grabbed the knife from his pocket. He stabbed him in the shoulder, causing the beast to fall.

Pretend that it's a song because forever it's yours

"Dipper!" Pacifica said as he untied her. Pacifica pulled Dipper into a tight hug. "Mabel." She said.

"What about her?" Dipper asked. "The girl was Mabel. I know that now. I'm sorry I thought you could ever cheat on me. I'm-" Pacifica sputtered out, breaking down into tears. "I'm so sorry. You are such a great guy, and never in a million years would I deserve someone like you. So I'll just leave and stay out of your life forever." Pacifica said, retracting from the hug and walking off. Dipper grabbed her wrist.

"Pacifica, no. I'm sorry." He said. "You're sorry? Why?" She replied, spinning around.

"Because I never told you how much I love you. Because I spend too much time on my work. Because I wasn't always there for you. Because I have an embarrassing dorky birthmark in my head. Because I couldn't tell you were upset. But most of all, because I was about to let you go again." Dipper said.

"Dipper, I..."

"No. Don't speak." Dipper said, putting his finger to her lips. He gently cupped her face and pulled her in for a kiss.

They walked to the car and climbed in. Dipper drove off down the old dirt road. After a while of driving, Pacifica turned to him. "Sorry your firework plan didn't work out."

Dipper took one hand off the wheel and placed it on hers. "That's okay. The night ended pretty well anyways." He replied.

And we can sing this on the way home

Pacifica turned up the radio. Bulletproof Love by Pierce the Veil was on. It had always been one of her favorites. They both sang the song on the way back home.

I'll sing along
Cause I don't know any other song
I'll sing along
But I'm barely hanging on
No I'm barely hanging on
By the time you're hearing this I'll already be gone
Now there's nothing left to do but tear my voice apart
Nothing I do and scream at the drunken moon

Was that okay? I feel like it was a little... off. Oh well, that's how I feel about everything I write.

Also, I am considering a Stranger Things oneshot book. Any thoughts?

Well thanks for reading :3
