New Year's Eve

It seemed like it would be hard to go home after switching to the dorm system, but with pro hero escorts, the students were able to return home for just one day.

Y/N and Eijiro came to visit Eijiro's mom as they're having a nice quiet dinner.

"How're you two been doing? I heard what happened and I bet it's been such a crazy year." she said.

"Yeah... But we learn a thing or two about everything." Y/N said, taking a bite of the cooked salmon.

"We've been able to keep it together." Eijiro smiled.

"That's great to hear."

"Oh, remember the little girl I texted you about? I received a letter from Eri. Isn't it cute?"

Y/N showed them a paper with a cute Jurassic World Symbol in the middle and opened it to show them her handwriting. Those words made her heart leap up.

"Ms. Y/N
Your dansing and singing was amazing. Your play for violen was beautiful.
Thanks for the fun show. I had fun. Blue had fun, too.
Thanks for letting me ride Anjali. I had never ride such amazing dinosaur before. I'll do my best with my Quirk and take care of Blue as she take care of me.
Oh, and Maisie would like to wish you an amazing year as well as luck.

"She wrote it while practicing her writing. I'm sure she did her best. It's wonderful."

"Nice!" Eijiro smiled.

"I also got this cute little love letter from Kota." Y/N added, giggling a little.

"L-Love letter??" Eijiro questioned, suddenly feeling jealous.

Eijiro's mom noticed that and snickered silently.

"Yeah. His handwriting is good and he even gave me this cute little Parasaurolophus plush clip." Y/N said, showing them.

"Roses are red
Violets are blue
Your loving kindness never ceases to amaze me
You're my great dinosaur hero."

"Aww!!" Eijiro's mom cooed. "I'm so proud of you both! You've grown a lot than I last seen you."

"Well, that doesn't mean we will forget you. I'm still grateful to you for taking me in than no one else has done. I'm willing to find my own path to follow."

"Same for me. I'm still working on my strength." Eijiro nodded, showing his muscle.

Eijiro's mom started to tear up and hugged them both.

"Do your best!!"

"We will mom."

And then, the new year began... Y/N and Eijiro are now off to their internship.

"Good luck on your intern!"

"You too! Don't make Endeavor too mad."

"Heh. I'll try."

"Of course." he rolled his eyes playfully before they head into their separate train.

Y/N sat down next to Izuku, Shoto, and Katsuki, who are already here, and looked out the window, fixing her scarf that covered up to her chin. Today's a big day as she's heading off to Endeavor's agency for the first time. She only came here for Shoto's sake not for Endeavor. She's here for the experience and training. Nothing more nor any personal things that she already know. They now made it to their destination as they walked out with their hero suitcases and faced Endeavor, who's in his regular clothes.

"Welcome to working for Endavor!" he smiled before his expression darkened with a glare. "That's not what I feel like, though."

The four said nothing and just stare at him, not expecting any less from him.

"Because Shoto asked, I gave my permission reluctantly, but I wish Shoto came on his own."

"If you gave permission, then don't complain." Shoto coldly stated, making Y/N giggle a little.

"Sh-Shoto!"

"I've thought so since the supplementary lessons, but you're kind of cringey."

Y/N quickly covered her mouth, trying not to laugh at those hilarious insults they're giving him already.

"Shoto, are you really friends with this boy?" Endeavor demanded, not liking Katsuki already.

"But if I can see how the top hero works, I don't really care about anything else."

"I thought I told you to choose your friends wisely!"

Y/N hunched over, giggling loudly. Izuku quickly chimed in.

"Thank you for allowing us to do our work study with you."

This made Endeavor face him for a moment before turning to Y/N after recovering from her laughter. She noticed him staring and just gave him a blank look with a hint of "I'm watching you, Endeavor." He then turn around and gestured them to follow him as they did.

"We will do our best to learn from the work of the number one hero!"

Endeavor said nothing as he glance at Izuku for a moment before looking up ahead.

"Shoto's not me... right?"

He suddenly stopped, which caused them to stop walking too. Endeavor jumped over the fence and began to run away.

"Sorry, but I don't plan on looking after anyone but Shoto!"

His body started to burst out fire as he dropped the suitcase and launched off.

"If you want to learn, then watch from the back!"

Endeavor looked back to see Katsuki, Y/N, Izuku, and Shoto following him from behind as he said, coming in close with their Quirk.

"Please give us your instructions!" Izuku shouted.

"Watch! From the back!"

Y/N sniffed the air and growled, smelling something. On cue, the glass started shattering into pieces from every building and began to move towards the direction of what's causing the glass to disappear. Endeavor zoomed past the citizens to catch that culprit with the four U.A. students on his trail.

"He told us to watch from the back." Shoto stated.

"We can't watch if we don't follow him." Izuku said.

"No way are we gonna fall behind to watch him take all the fun!" Y/N shouted, pushing harder from her atomic flames.

They noticed a big glass ball called the Enlightened Fallen King was coming towards them until Endeavor punched through it.

"Flashfire Fist!"

The glass is no longer there as they melted.

"You control glass, old man? You show great skill, but I don't understand you. This isn't something you should do on my watch."

"My throat's burning!"

The culprit flew away into the alleyway before the sidekick could catch him who happened to be there.

"Endeavor!"

"Please take care of the evacuation."

As Endeavor chased after that fortune teller man, Izuku, Y/N, Katsuki, and Shoto went into the opposite direction to corner that criminal. They guessed it right as more criminals are here with weapons ready to strike Endeavor. They quickly stopped them as they tackled the crimals with their Quirk with Endeavor managing to catch that old man. Suddenly, the familiar red feathers zoomed in and paralyzed the crimals.

"Huh? Oh, work study students?"

"Hawks?!!" Izuku and Y/N exclaimed in shock.

"Sorry, I was just a little faster. I thought Endeavor was in trouble."

"Did it look like I was in trouble?" Endeavor deadpanned, still holding the criminal.

Hawks landed in front of Shoto.

"It did, didn't it? Shoto."

"Sure..."

"I thought I told you to let me know when you were coming." Endeavor said.

"Well, I just happened to be in the area."

Not a minute later, the police came and arrested the criminals who tried to resist. Once they're gone, Y/N turned to Hawks, who's walking towards them.

"I'm surprised to see you again."

"Missed me?" he smirked.

"No..." she rolled her eyes.

"N-Nice to meet you. I'm in U.A.'s High's hero course, Class 1-A. My name is Izuku Midoriya!" Izuku nervously greeted with a hint of fanboy mode.

"I know. You're the kid who destroyed his fingers."

"Huh?"

"I've heard about you from Tsukuyomi. Man, I wanted to work with him again, too."

"Where's Tokoyami? Isn't he continuing his work study at Hawk's Agency?"

"He's working back home with my sidekicks. I'm too busy, so I feel bad."

"That's a shame. He was already learning to fly like you." Y/N frowned.

"Well, I feel honored." Hawks smiled.

"Earlier, I was faster than you." Katsuki glared.

"I wonder about that."

Endeavor approached Hawks.

"Well? What do you want, Hawks?"

"I don't want anything, but Endeavor--Have you read this book?"

He pulled out a red book titled "Meta Liberation War". Y/N raised her eyebrow on what it mean by that.

"What about it?"

"Well, you know, it's gotten really popular recently. It's from a long time ago, but it has predictions about the present. 'If you give freedom to a limited number of people, then the negative consequences will go to the others.' If you don't have time to read it all, I've highlighted some parts for you. So you can just read those parts. The leader of the Meta Liberation Army, Destro, ultimately wanted, you know-- A society completed by personal responsibility! It goes with the times!"

"What are you saying?" Endeavor questioned.

"If that comes to fruition, then we'll have time on our hands."

Y/N noticed something's not right with Hawks as Endeavor is not the only one seeing it. She suddenly got a bad feeling as Hawks is sending them a message about something important. Hawks then handed Endeavor the book as he took it.

"Please make sure you read it."

"The book the number two hero is pushing! I should read it, too." Izuku muttered, watching them. "Maybe the secret to his speed is hidden in it!"

"Oh?"

Hawks, who overheard him, turned around with a rather joyful aura and more books he so happened to have out of nowhere.

"I brought these just for someone like you!"

"So prepared! Where did they come from?"

"That's right! It's the age of Number Two! If you've got speed, I think the power to predict what's coming ahead goes with it!"

Hawks speedily handed each books for the four U.A. students.

"He's even too fast at passing them out!" Izuku exclaimed.

"You really love this book, huh?" Shoto questioned. "To have so many copies..."

"I think it's so he can spread the word about it."

"That's right!"

Hawks then turned to Y/N.

"Don't think I didn't forget you. I have something special for you."

Y/N was confused on what he mean by that until he pulled out a bundle of roses.

"Here's my token of thanking you for helping me fight against those Purple Dragons."

Y/N blushed in shock while the trio were also shocked and angered.

"Oh, um... You're welcome. It was nothing." she said, taking the roses from him.

Hawks then suddenly took her hand and kissed it, shocking her even more. Her cheeks are now red.

"Look forward to have you on a date sometimes." he said, releasing her hand.

Hawks lifted up his red wings.

"I've been recommending it to all my friends and all the heroes across the country. I think there will at least be the groundwork for liberation ideology. You should look over at least the parts that were highlighted. I recommend the second part. Do your best with the work studies, all five of you!"

With that, he was gone, not before winking at Y/N, who looked away. She look down at her hand to where Hawks had kissed and felt something in it and opened her hand to see a thumb drive. Why did he give it to her? She then noticed attached to it is the small paper with his phone number in it. Y/N feels speechless as she held the roses close to her. Whatever he gave her, she'll look through it along with the book he recommended.

"Even though he's still young, what he looks at is completely different from us. He's only 22!" Izuku said, still not liking Hawks kissing Y/N's hand.

"Only six years older, huh?" Shoto questioned, gripping onto the book a little tight.

"He's annoying!" Katsuki scoffed, wanting to burn those wings for being all lovey dovey around Y/N.

"Yeah, that's right." Endeavor agreed, silently taking a look at the pages of the book.

"Welcome to Endeavor Agency!"

"We're the Flaming Sidekickers!"

"Oh, it's the famous sidekick, Burnin!" Izuku gasped.

Burnin is a young woman who has big red-orange eyes and pointy teeth. Her most distinguishable feature is her long, flaming yellowish-green hair with two bangs on each side and a wider bang going from the center of her forehead to the right. The ends of her fingers are also notably pointed.

She wears a light-gray double breasted mini dress with orange and black lining and slits on both sides of the skirt. Her collar, belt and wrist guards are black with a smaller orange line, and the silver buttons resemble flat-headed screws. She also wears a belt with a temperature gauge on the front and a fire extinguisher on the back, black knee-high socks, and short black boots. Her mask is black, similar to that of Katsuki Bakugo, and is connected to a red headband.

"It's Bakugo and Shoto's first work study, right?" Burnin said, pointing at them. "We'll have you kids working like us starting today, but as you can see, this is a big agency! There are more than 30 sidekicks! In other words, there won't be much chance for you to shine!"

"Interesting!" Katsuki grinned. "So we need to beat the pros at their own game?"

"That's right!"

"And Shoto, don't think you'll get special treatment just 'cause you're Endeavor's son!" one of the sidekick said.

"At least try to keep up!"

Suddenly, there are lots of shouts from the workers and sidekicks as they ran around the room.

"There's so much going on!" Izuku exclaimed.

"This place sure is busy." Y/N commented.

"It is the number one agency, after all. We're usually either on patrol or standing by. From emergency dispatches to escort jobs and event offers, we handle over a hundred requests a day." the mummified sidekick explained.

Katsuki punched his fist.

"Then let's hurry up and start working. I'm mad after that spoonbill cut in!"

"Are you talking about Hawks?!" Izuku exclaimed in shock.

"I acknowledge your spirit. Wait for Endeavor's instructions, okay?"

"There are over a hundred requests, right?!"

"What're you doing?!"

"Kacchan, stop it." Izuku scolded.

Y/N whacked Katsuki in the back of his head with her tail without even looking.

"Katsuki, control yourself and be patient."

"Grrr!!!" Katsuki growled, rubbing his sore head.

"Oh? You got roses from your secret admirer?" Burnin teased, seeing the bundle of roses.

"More likely from Hawks."

"Oh!! Isn't that precious?"

Y/N just shrugged it off and looked back at the thumb drive, having a feeling that there's something he wanted her to see and will get to the bottom of this.
