~ Chapter 41 ~
"To fight the night you finish the preliminary hero licensing exam-- I'm so glad you two are so energetic." Aizawa scowled at Izuku and Katsuki who are being held tightly by his scarf.
Y/N was lucky as she backed away next to All Might.
"Aizawa, wait, hold up with the restraints. I'm the cause." All Might said.
"Huh?" Aizawa turned to him still scowling. "Cause? Of what?"
"Young Bakugo felt responsible for my retirement. He had to face the exam with those pent-up feelings, and in the end, his inferiority complex exploded. It was because I didn't realize and was negligent in his mental care... It was a fight brought out about by the failure of adults..." he said with a half-lie.
Aizawa then released Izuku and Katsuki. He then turned to Y/N.
"What were you doing out there?"
"I was trying to stop those boys from doing anything stupid. I ended up getting both of my hands damaged, but I manage to stop them from taking things further. I have to deal with Katsuki's rath the most 'cause he is too stubborn..." Y/N said, glaring at the two.
"It's true. I gave her permission to stop them." All Might added.
Aizawa looked at her and she nodded, confirming it's true.
"I would have ask you too to let me stop them, but I somehow ended up bumping into All Might."
Aizawa then sighed and nodded.
"At least you followed the rules... I'll let it slide."
He looked back at Izuku and Katsuki and started scowling.
"So they had no choice but to break the rules. But I can't just let it go. I will give a suitable punishment. Who hit first?"
"Me." Katsuki huffed.
"I also went in pretty hard." Izuku trailed off.
"Four days of house arrest for Bakugo! Three days for Midoriya! During that time, you must clean all the common areas in the dorm, morning and night! Plus, you have to turn in a written apology! For your injuries, if the pain gets worse or doesn't go away, go to the infirmary! But don't rely on the old lady's Quirk! Injuries you got on your own should be healed that way!" Aizawa sighed. "That's all! Go to sleep! L/N, stay here while I heal your hands."
"Yes, Aizawa." Y/N nodded.
Izuku and Katsuki then head off to their room not without bidding her a goodnight. Y/N sat down on the bed as Aizawa took out a healing burn cream, alcohol, and some bandages and gauges from the cabin. He walked over to her and poured out the alcohol on her right hand that's burned, making her hiss. He grabbed the cotton and dibbed it on her wound.
"You fought well, L/N. Keep it up. But don't overdue your body like Midoriya."
"I will. Thank you."
After a minute of cleaning both of her hands, he started wrapping bandages on them up to her wrist and made sure they are tight. He was now done.
"You're free to go."
Y/N nodded before bowing at him and headed back to her room.

Today is the opening ceremony. Y/N felt bad that Izuku and Katsuki will miss it since they are under house arrest. She even got an earful of worries from Eijiro and her friends about her hands. She reassured them that it's fine and it was only just one punch.
"Listen up, everyone! Stay in line and move promptly to the grounds!" Tenya instructed, moving his arms robotically.
"You're the one who's not in line." Hanta pointed out with a teasing smirk.
Tenya flinched and tensed up, knowing he's right.
"The dilemma of a class rep!"
Y/N chuckled and patted his shoulder.
"Don't worry. You're fine. You're just trying to help."
"Thanks, Y/N..."
"I heard, Class A--"
"Oh, God..." Y/N groaned, knowing who it is and turned to see Monoma. "Can't he take a hint and fuck off?"
"Two people! You had two people fail the provisional licensing exam!" Monoma exclaimed, holding two fingers up.
"Class B's Monoma!" Hanta mumbled.
"He's crazy, as usual!" Denki mumbled, hiding behind Y/N.
"So were you the only one to fail again? Like with the final?" Eijiro appeared at Y/N's side.
Monoma laughed, holding his stomach and stopped and turned his back on them.
"Which is it?!" Eijiro asked again.
"We..." Monoma turned at the side to reveal his classmates behind him.
Y/N noticed Tetsu waving at her and she wave back.
"...all passed! We've pulled ahead of you, Class A."
"Okay, that's enough of that. You don't have to rub it in our faces."
"What? Gonna cry, little girl?"
Eijiro, Hanta, and Denki immediately screamed.
"What??" Monoma asked in confusion.
"...Are you talking to me?"
"Uh oh... He called her little..." Eijiro gasped.
"Are you talking to me?"
"You shouldn't have done that." Hanta whimpered.
"Oh no..." Tetsu said, realizing what Monoma called her.
"Are you talking to me?!" Y/N growled.
"Now you're in for it!" Denki exclaimed.
Monoma flinched to see firey aura from Y/N as well as her eyes.
"I am not little! I have enough of your attitude for one day!"
Y/N stomped over to Monoma, making him yelp and turn to his classmates for help. But what he saw shocked him as they are far away from him and Y/N as well as Eijiro, Denki, and Hanta as they hugged each other in fear.
"I don't know why this is so important for you to insult my classmates and think everything is part of a stupid competition! You could at least keep your words to yourself, but no, you just have to keep on talking! You Milk-Drinking, Shilpit, Worm-Eyed, Hotten-Blaugh, Soy-Faced, Mim-Toothed, Plookie, Bleathering, Cally-Breek, Stoochie!"
Monoma then fainted on the spot after hearing another long insult from Y/N. Y/N looked down at him unamused.
"I think he's dead."
"That's an understatement..." Eijiro mumbled.
Tetsu walked over to Monoma and kicked him slightly.
"I think he is."
"Sorry... everyone..." Shoto mumbled.
"Hey, don't worry. You'll do good." Y/N said, seeing the frustrated look on his face.
"They're turning it into a competition on their own, so don't worry about it." Eijiro added.
"According to Vlad Teacher, we'll have classes together this semester!" the voice informed, revealing a short girl with a round face and a short equine muzzle, her face framed by thick, wavy blonde hair which reaches halfway down her back, some shorter bangs hanging down her forehead.
Her eyes are large and round, Prussian blue in color, and she has a pair of tall, lyre-shaped pale tan horns on her head. Her calves are notably rounded, shaped similarly to those of a horse, and she has brown hooves for feet, and a short horse tail poking out from the end of her tailbone.
"I'm looking forward to it!"
"Oh, I can't wait to test out my skills!" Eijiro hit his hand into his fists.
"Anyway, you're an exchange student, right?" Denki asked.
"You're Y/N, right? I heard so much about you! I hope we can be friends!" pony girl smiled, innocently.
"That's sweet of you. And sure, maybe." Y/N said with a smile, making the pony girl beam in happiness.
Y/N noticed Itsuka came and grabbed the unconscious Monoma by the back of his collar.
"Hey, we're trying to get through back here."
"I'm sorry!" Tenya yelled. "Come now, everyone, save your chitchat for later. You're causing problems for other people!"
Y/N smiled to see Hitoshi walking towards them with a usual tired look on his face.
"Don't show me how uncool you are." Hitoshi said and turned to Y/N and smiled. "Y/N."
"Sup, Hitoshi. Long time no see. And I see you have been working out."
Hitoshi chuckled.
"What gave it away?"
"Your arms obviously." she smirked.
"I see that you've been doing well. Did you tell them your... secret?" he said with a grin, remembering her playing the violin.
"Oh, don't you start with that. Tell everyone and I'll bite your face off." she joked.
"I won't. See you around, Y/N. Look forward to beating you someday." he said and left with a wave.
"Don't worry. I won't try and hold back."
"You know him, Y/N?" Tenya asked with a hint of jealousy.
"Yeah. We met during lunch before internship. Let's just say we're cool."
"Shinso." Fumikage mumbled.
"He's the person who fought Midoriya at the sports festival." Kyoka added.
"That guy looks... like he's bulked up a bit..." Hanta trailed off.
"That's because he has been training with Aizawa. He's improving himself." Y/N thought with a smile.

"Hey! It's the small mammal you all love, the principal!" Nezu cheerfully greeted. "Recently, the fur I'm so proud of has deteriorated in quality... It's hard for me to take care of it. This is something you can say about humans, too."
Y/N and her classmates are sitting together along with the rest of the students from different classes. They are gazing at Nezu who's standing on a platform with a microphone in front of him. Vlad King and Present Mic stood next to Nezu.
"Even if you have a balanced diet with zinc and vitamins, the most important thing has to be sleep. Disturbing your lifestyle is the worst for your fur. So if you're trying to improve your hair quality, you should make sure to get enough sleep!"
"I really don't care..."
"I can't believe how long he's talking abou this..."
"The cause of the disturbance is incidents from this summer vacation I'm sure you already know about-- The loss of a pillar. The effects of that incident have appeared faster than I could have imagined. There will probably be great chaos in society in the near future. In particular, this will be most apparent to those of you in the hero course. You must approach activities outside of school, like the hero work studies that mainly second and third years participate in, with a greater sense of caution and crisis than before." Nezu explained.
"Hero work studies?" Mina mumbled.
"Is it like the next level of the internships we did?" Tsu questioned.
"The air always feels heavy when we talk about gloomy things like this, huh? The adults are working hard to do something about that heaviness. We'd like you all to learn that hard work from them and develop into capable people. All of you in the business course, general studies, support course, and hero course-- I don't want you to forget that you're all successors of this society."
"Thank you, Principal Nezu." Vlad King said, heading towards the microphone. "And now, we have a few warnings from the non-curricular guidance teacher, Mr. Hound Dog."
Hound Dog head toward the microphone after Vlad King stepped away.
"Grrr... Yesterday... grrr..." he growled, body shaking in anger. "At the dorms! Grrr... growl! Unused to grrr... life--"
Hound Dog howls, causing the students to get scared. Y/N deadpanned at this. Vlad King steps back up to the microphone as Hound Dog steps away.
"Let's see. There were students fighting last night. You might be unused to life at the dorms, but let's live a life of moderation is what he means."
"Does he forget human speech when he gets angry?" Mineta mumbled. "There's still so much I don't know about U.A...."
"Midoriya and Bakugo are being treated as problem children, aren't they?" Momo asked, letting out a sigh.
"Tell me about it..." Y/N said.
"And now, return to your classrooms, starting with the third years." Vlad King instructed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
"Okay, then, we'll be continuing regular classes starting today." Aizawa informed, standing in front of the classroom. "A lot of unprecedented things happened, but you'll need to switch gears and focus on your duties as students. We'll be staying inside the classroom today, but this semester, you'll have even harsher training than before."
"He's not talking about it..." Mina whispered to Tsu.
"What's that, Ashido?" Aizawa questioned, hair floating up and his eyes glowed red in anger.
"I haven't felt this in a while!" Mina squeaked in fright.
"I'm sorry, can I ask a question?" Tsu asked, raising her hand. "Can you tell us what the 'hero work studies' that came up earlier during the opening ceremonies are about?"
"Oh yeah, the principal said something about that." Hanta added.
"I was wondering as well." Fumikage looked at Hanta.
"He said it was something many of the upperclassmen are engaged in..." Momo said.
"I was planning to talk more about those at a later date, but... I guess telling you guys now is more logical. To put it simply, they're hero activities outside of school. Like the internships you did under heroes before... only closer to the real thing."
"Then why did I work so hard at the sports festival?!" Ochaco exclaimed, standing up from her seat.
"That's true. If we have work studies, then even those who didn't get scouted at the sports festival would have paths open up for them." Tenya said.
"Now, calm down. You're not being yourself." Rikido said, looking at Ochaco in worry.
"But--"
"The hero work studies use the scouting from the sports festival as connections." Aizawa informed. "This isn't part of a class, but an activity done at the discretion of the student. So those who weren't scouted at the sports festival would have a hard time lining one up to begin with. Originally, individual agencies recruited on their own, but there were many complications with trying to get U.A. student to join, so it ended up being like this. If you understand, sit down."
Ochaco looks down.
"I'm sorry I jumped to conclusions..." she said, sitting back down.
"Now that you have your provisional licenses, you can assist in more real ways for longer periods of time. But there haven't been many cases where first years have received their provisional licenses. With the increase of activity of villains, we are currently thinking seriously about your participation. Well, we'll have you hear more about what it's like and explain in further detail at a later date. We've got our own circumstances to consider. Well then, sorry to keep you waiting, Mic."
As if on cue, Present Mic opened the door.
"First period is English! In other words, my time! It's been an age since I stood on this stage! Did you miss me, bro?"
"Oh God..." Y/N groaned.
"We've got a lot of cover today!" Present Mic exclaimed loudly. "Let's fire it up! Yeah!"
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Mineta rubbed his finger on the dust by the window.
"Hm? What's this dust, Bakugo?" he smirked.
"Deku was supposed to clean that! Stop messing around!" Katsuki yelled, causing Mineta and Hanta to laugh.
Katsuki angrily turned to Izuku who's picking up the trash.
"Hey, can't you even clean properly?!"
"I-I'm sorry!" Izuku gasped.
"Man, I'm beat." Rikido groaned.
Y/N was sitting on the couch next to Eijiro as she's holding the egg as usual to check on it and brought it out of her room as she's in her regular clothes. Denki is also sitting next to Y/N, looking tired.
"Oh, everyone, put the trash from your rooms out." Izuku instructed, holding out two yellow bags in front of him. "I'll take them out together."
Rikido ignored him and appeared behind Y/N, Eijiro, and Denki.
"Hey, Mic's class today..."
"Don't tell me, you too?" Eijiro grumbled.
"Don't remind me..." Y/N grumbled.
"Grammar we didn't learn just came out naturally, huh?"
"Oh yeah, that! Right! I was surprised, too!" Mina voiced.
"I forgot to prepare for class..." Denki grumbled.
"I don't blame you." Y/N said, looking at her egg.
"If I get stuck once, I can't process anything that comes after that." Rikido added.
"That's the face you're making, Mr. House Arrest." Tenya said.
Y/N looked over behind her to see Tenya looking at Izuku with a mad expression on his face. She noticed that Izuku had been listening to their conversation.
"Don't call me 'Mr. House Arrest'! That's mean!" Izuku exclaimed. "Um, Iida, what's a work study?"
"I am angry!" Tenya yelled, scowling at Izuku. "We have been forbidden to tell you anything about our classes by the teachers. Sorry, but you two will need to fully experience that feeling you have right now. Are you listening, Bakugo?"
"Shut it! I get, Damn Four-eyes!" Katsuki yelled.
Y/N passed the egg to Eijiro to take care of it as she stood up from the couch and walked over to Izuku. She crouched down, making Izuku look up. She smiled and helped him tie the plastic bag.
"Mind if I help?"
"Y-Y/N. You don't have to. It's my re-responsibility."
"And how are you going to deal with a load of trash bags? At least let me help. It's the least I can do."
"Okay, you can carry one. I carry the rest."
Y/N smiled and grabbed one of the big heavy trash bag and headed outside with him towards the dumpster. As they walk by, Izuku had a frustrated expression on his face, feeling left behind from his classmates. Y/N noticed that and comforted Izuku by patting his head and ruffling it. Izuku smiled at her and continued walking. All of the sudden they saw a face sticking out of the wall. They slowly turned to see if they are seeing it right. Though, Y/N could have sworn she saw someone familiar with those blue oval-shaped eyes.
The face smiled.
"Trash, right?"
Izuku and Y/N stood there stunned. An arm poked out of the wall, pointing at the direction.
"You can throw away the food trays with the burnables."
"Uh...right." Izuku nervously replied while Y/N just stood there silent.
"Good." the face nodded and disappeared.
"What was that just now...?" Izuku asked.
"I have no idea..." Y/N said.
Just then, the face appeared from the ground in front them. Izuku screamed while Y/N yelped in surprise as they backed away.
"You're both the energetic first year, right?" he asked and laughed. "You're surprised, right? Sorry about that! I did it because I thought you'd be surprised, though!"
"What in the world are you?"
"Do I know you from somewhere?"
"I wonder... I wonder what I'm doing, too, once in a blue moon. You'll find out who I am soon, right?" the face said and turned to Y/N. "It was nice seeing you again. I'm just glad you're doing well! All I can say is that people are talking about you and your friend, so I came to see--"
But then the face disappered before he can finish his sentence. Izuku and Y/N looked around.
"What... just happened?" Izuku questioned.
"I could have sworn I have seen him somewhere before..." Y/N mumbled.
