CH 3 PT 2
Reluctantly, they had to sleep in the same pairs as before. Even if they wanted to change it up a bit, that'd have been difficult, seeing as the pairs were handcuffed together.
Lizzy was awkwardly curled around Sam's hand, her whole body wrapped around it, her hands holding onto his giant one. These two were silent, just staring at different spots on the ceiling, whereas Kris and Artemis were loud, constantly shifting around and whispering insults and complaints at each other.
"Do you think they'll ever be quiet?" Lizzy breathed after a long time of listening to them. Sam shrugged, hoping there wasn't some magical way that anyone could sense that he was flustered, and probably blushing.
"I dunno. Do you think you could let go of my arm?" He murmured, shifting his captured arm slightly. Instead of his arm being immediately released, as he had expected to happen, Lizzy only gripped it tighter and laughed softly.
"Nope," she giggled, shifting around his arm. "Night night," she whispered after another few minutes of rustling from across the room, presumably falling asleep. Sam was left staring at the ceiling, debating on whether or not to move and disturb the sleeping girl. She was sleeping peacefully, and probably being adorable while doing it, but his arm was losing circulation. He settled for shifting his body to curl towards hers, her forehead to his chest. He eventually fell asleep.
Meanwhile, across the room, Artemis and Kris were still struggling to find a good position. After a long time of rude whispers, misplaced limbs, tangled sheets, and grumbling, they finally managed to fall asleep with Artemis pressed up against Kris, one of his arms supporting her head, the other draped across her waist, and their hands 'accidentally' -- though they would never admit the truth -- entwined.

Lizzy and Sam had woken up early and decided to go walk to the light house, not realizing the position their two friends had slept in. Ignorance is bliss, after all. (This is what the authors have decided.)
Artemis, upon waking up, felt warm and safe, not realizing the situation she had awoken to. Kris had watched her sleep after he had woken up a few hours before, not wanting to disturb her. When she started to stir upon awaking, he smirked and snickered to himself softly.
"Morning, Sunshine," he whispered, trying not to burst out laughing. He was rewarded with a few sleepy grunts.
"Mornings are gross," she responded, snuggling further into his arms. Then her sleepiness evaporated instantly as she realized the 'safe' position she was in. She shrieked, leaped to her feet, yanking him across the bed. She then lost her footing, falling to the floor, jerking him off the bed and on top of her. When he landed on her, all of the air was forced from her lungs, making an oomph noise. She groaned from his weight. "Get off," she groaned at him. He smirked.
"What if I don't want to?" He snickered. The realization hit her that she was pinned down, unable to move. He chuckled and pinned her arms above her head, holding it with one hand.
"Don't even dare." She warned. He chuckled and he used his free hand to plug her nose. She glared at him.
He whispered, "Got your nose!" She growled before being cut off by him tickling her. In an uncontrollable fit of laughter, she was unable to move or speak. Artemis couldn't even ask him to stop.
"St-stop!" She finally choked out from laughing. He let go and sat back. "Thanks," she giggled, regaining breath. "Now, get off."
"What if I--" He was cut off by a swift kick to the head.
"Don't even." She warned. Artemis shoved her face to a pillow and turned away from him. Kris heard her muffled laughter before putting his hand to his head, remembering how long it's been since he last did that to her. She got up and went to the side desk, realizing that Sam and Lizzy were gone. "Sam and Lizzy went to the lighthouse," She announced after reading the note they left behind.
"Let's just go to the lighthouse," he muttered.
Artemis nodded in agreement.
~Time skip brought to you by the immortal power of fangirls~
They found Lizzy and Sam reading books in the living room. Artemis was irritated and dragged the three of them down to the lab. When she barged in, Roger raised a questioning eyebrow.
"What are you guys doing here?" He asked, looking at them.
Without a word, she dragged them over to a table and grabbed an axe. She raised it above her head. Lizzy gasped and Sam looked surprised.
"Wait do we really have to--" Kris started, trying to back her out of it. He was cut off by a sudden thwack and they looked down to see that she had cut Lizzy's and Sam's handcuffs off. Roger made a sound that a fangirl would make if her favorite anime was postponed due to a broken wifi.
"Why did you do that?!" He shrieked. Artemis looked at him and growled.
"I'll fix it," she promised and shoved Roger, Lizzy, and Sam out of the room. Roger had made the weird sound again. Artemis locked the door, and looked for the tools needed. During the entire ordeal, she had dragged poor Kris along with.
"Would you stop this madness?! What are you even doing?" He asked in a mixture of annoyance and shock.
Her reply was a look that said 'don't bother to ask'. Kris gulped and decided to not question her antics. She got to work, putting random tools and objects in front of them. She quickly analyzed everything and efficiently created a key and a new set of handcuffs. After a few more moments of tinkering, she smiled and chuckled. Artemis had finished the new addition to the old cuffs and uncuffed them both. Without a single word, she got up, opened the doors, dropped the new and repaired handcuffs in Roger's hands, and walked off. In her path, she left a stunned Lizzy, Sam, Roger, and an even more so confused Kris -- who had not understood what he had just watched; they all stared after her.
