Chapter Two - Cold, Rainy Night
The rain poured down on the metal being's fur. Her ears fell to the side of her head She was waiting outside of a building, staring inside the wide windows. She was waiting for someone. Her tattered clothes clung to her cold, soft body, her wet fur sticking to her cold, metal body as the rain ran down her. She watched people walk back and forth in the building, her eye scanning them to try and see if any were familiar.
They weren't.
She looked up at the sky, watching the rain fall around her. It never hit her eye, at least from what she noticed. It didn't hurt her if it did hit her. Her eyes were porcelain and plastic. She looked back at the door, rain flinging in front of her as she moved her old joints. The door opened and closed, peaking her excitement and curiosity. But it wasn't who she wanted.
The building that laid in front of the creature was tall and big, filled with lots of rooms and people. There was a lot of strange liquid and pills in there, and a lot of people who carry around clipboards. What did they say the name of this building was again? A hospital. She's never been in one, but she's been near one before.
She, personally, finds them stupid. Just another excuse to take people away from the ones they love. Just another excuse to poison people and get more money. Her tail swayed behind her angrly, but her bland face showed no emotion.
The door opened and closed for another few people, none of which she wanted. She didn't care for these people. There was one person she wanted. One she was waiting for. Someone shorter than her, but average for his age. He was a troublemaker, one who always seemed to get hurt when he was out working for the army. He's still always full of energy and childish, despite working with such a tough group.
Soon, a cough caught her attention. Her ears went up as she looked at the door.
Him.
He was standing there, holding crutches close to his arms as he tried his best to cough into his elbow. She ran over, her feet splashing the puddles and clanking on the ground. She stopped in front of him. He was 5'5", yet she was still a foot plus taller than him. He looked up at the soaking wet metallic beast with a smile, welcoming her presence but glad she didn't hug him. His blond hair was greasy and messy. His normal clothes were still covered in his own blood. They were too rushed to even wash them. His left foot was covered in a cast, something he'll need to have on for awhile. His smile stayed the same, however. His green eyes still shined with excitement.
"Are you ready to go home?" The girl's voice was quiet, but loud enough to hear over the rain.
"I was ready when they stitched up my foot!" The boy's enthusiasm and joking tune gave the girl hope he would be okay.
Carefully, the two made their way back home to the mansion in the woods, heading back to meet the others who waited patiently for the two to return.
