The Passage

Oh, man was this passage long. In the beginning, we had run down the steps which had then turned into a long hallway. After the fifth turn in the hallway, we were both panting and gasping for air. Our sprint had turned into a pitiful walk. We rounded another bend and walked right into a door with a lock pad on it. Brooklyn groaned and leaned against a wall and sat down. I joined her.

"So... what are we going to do?" I asked.

"We try the lock, idiot." She said.

"Har. Har. Do you have any ideas?" I asked. She gave me a look like I was supposed to know the code. How was I supposed to know the code? I am not a hacker or a mind reader of Batman's thoughts.

"You're the geek in this. So you've got to have some knowledge up there, or is it all air?" she deadpanned.

"Fine, let me see." I gave her a Batglare, and she happily returned it. I closed my eyes and searched my mind, for anything that might help us. Within seconds I was utterly distracted. My thoughts began to drift into the movie Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. I started to remember the part when the Flash outsmarted the alternate Batman. I groaned. I was tired and hungry and I-. Wait. The Flash had outsmarted Batman. He had then tried a code on the lock to free the good Batman. The good Batman had said that he uses that code for everything. So I got that figured out. So what's the code? 1534? 7845? 1234? I groaned again (In my head of course). I was just saying random numbers now. Let's try this again. 8769? Nope. 91939? Argh!! Wait. That was it! I turned to Brooklyn and smiled evilly.

"Try91939!" I said quickly.

"Huh?" She asked.

"T..r..y 9-1-9-3-9" I repeated very slowly. She rolled her eyes. We got up and raced to the door. She typed it in. The locked clicked open.

"Who's the queen. Me, BABY!!" I sung happily. I held up my hand and she high fived it.

"How'd you know?" She asked.

"Well, I remembered this old youtube vid-"

"Wait, I don't want to know. So what's the possibility of us getting electrocuted from that door?" She said while pointing at the door.

"On what scale?"

"1-10"

"110. This is B-man we are talking about."

"B-man?"

"Batman or Bruce man they work both ways."

"Oh, but why?"

"So do you want to open it?" I asked, ignoring her question. She glared at me which I took for a no. "Okay me then". I went towards the door and threw it open and then jumped back. What?! I thought the door would shock me. You can never be too careful with Batman around. I heard Brooklyn snicker behind me. I was about to retort but stopped when I saw the room in front of me. I heard Brooklyn gasp behind me. I couldn't blame her though. The room wasn't that much to look at, it was whitewashed and only had four things in it another door and a small stand with a computer on top of it. The most surprising thing was the tunnel. It was not very long and the end of it was about fifteen feet in. The cool part was the panels inside it. They glowed softly and started to get brighter. We screamed as the tunnel let off a huge burst of light. An A.I. I assume announced someone's arrival, but I couldn't hear it over the screams. Which I might add sounded like angelic and not at all like a screech. They stopped abruptly as we burst into laughter. There was a guy in a black dopey costume and what looked two bunny ears on top of the guy's head.

"Ah crap" I said. The dopey costume guy was Batman and by the look on his face, we were so dead. He was first surprised or what I thought Batman looked like when he was surprised. His eyes then narrowed in the famous bad glare. I smirked at him, I really don't understand how people are scared of that glare! In fact, it's kind of funny how his eyelids narrow, it's so unnatural. AH, CRAP! Batman is talking and I have no idea what the heck he is saying!

"......ng" he finished.

"What?" I asked. Behind me Brooklyn facepalmed. I turned my head and glared at her then turned back to listen to Batman.

"I said. I told you not to touch anything" he repeated angrily.

"Well, you could change the entrance. I wanted to read a book so it kinda your fault for making the entrance a book pully thing." I said.

"Father who are these peasants?" a boy said from behind Batman. My eyes widened as I saw who it was. It was Robin, the symbol kinda gave it away, but the question was which one. He wore a hood and had a katana hanging at his side. It was Damian Wayne, personally my least favorite Robin. I growled at him and glared, which he returned. I felt a hand on my shoulder, I turned around to face Brooklyn.

"BUt?!" I said

"No" she said.

"But he" I said again wildly gesturing my hands in his direction.

"No. Harper"

"Fine" I said defeated. I'll punch him later.

"Who are you?" Damian asked.

"I'm Brooklyn and this is Harper" she said while gesturing to me.

"Howdy" I grumbled.

"And we are from a different dimension" she finished.

"Prove it" the Demon Spawn (Damian Wayne) said.

"Batman is Bruce Wayne. His parents were killed by Joe Chill. You are Damian Wayne. You were trained by the League of Assassins and your mother is Talia Al Ghul and your grandfather is Ra's Al Ghul, who is like 600 hundred years old. Oh, and you prefer a katana. Also, you are my least favorite Robin." I finished my rant with a flourish.

Damian looked surprised and confused. And Batman? Well, he looked exactly the same. Brooding like the angsty Batman he is. The two superheroes turned and began a silent conversation through their expressions.

"What are they doing?" Brooklyn whispered as Damian threw up his arms in an angered manner.

"They're talking."

"How?"

"With their faces or eyes"

"Okay. Weird"

I nodded my head it was weird. I wondered how many times they had misinterpreted something. I mean there would have to be a lot of looks right? I wonder how long it took every member of the Batfam to memorize them. How many looks are there? Can one look stand for two things? Shook my head slightly, mainly so I would stop asking questions I highly doubt I would get answers to. I looked over to Brooklyn and choked on a laugh. Brooklyn had a look of intense concentration on her face no doubt trying to figure out what they were saying with their non-visible eyes. I sighed. I was bored, I looked over at Batman, he looked distracted enough. The other door was around 10 feet away and had no lock on it.

"Do you want to explore?" I whispered to Brooklyn. She sighed quietly and nodded her head. We sunk to the door and quietly opened and shut it. I heard a gasp behind me. I held in a squeal we were now back in Batcave central. My eyes drifted towards the bat-computer and what was by it. Sweet. My eyes landed on the many suits. I laughed at Brooklyn. She was already running at top speed towards the suits. I ran after her. Wow. The batfamily had a lot of suits. Huh, I thought when I saw Jason's Red Hood suit. I did not think him and Batman would be on good terms here. I did want to see them interact though. I moved on. Just what I was looking for.

"Brooklyn come here" I yelled. I threw her the suit. It was one of Nightwings. The label on the suit said that they could use if he ever got turned into a girl. I wondered why they even had something like this. Maybe it had happened before. Oh wait, there were two. Well, that's weird. I started to put on the suit. I snorted, I could hear Brooklyn muttering insults at the suit. I couldn't blame her though. Who knew it was hard to put on a suit. After a few of my Neptune's beards, I finally got the suit on. Brooklyn was already looking at herself in a mirror she found. I joined her. Wow did we look rad. Superboy from Young Justice was not kidding about this being form fitting though. The suits that is.

"Want to go for a drive?" Brooklyn asked. She was pointing at the Batmobile. I smiled and nodded. We raced towards the Batmobile.

"I call driving it!" Brooklyn yelled at me. I sighed and glared at her. I'll drive on round two, I thought. After many failed attempts we finally got the doors open. The Batmobile was way cooler in person. There were so many buttons! One of the red ones caught my eye as we climbed in. My hand slowly went to the button but, stopped as something in rear view mirror caught my eye. Ah crap, it was our best bud Batman and he did not look remotely happy.
