The Famous Batcave

Falling for what seemed like an eternity. Into the never ending darkness. I could feel my body pulling this way and that.

Finally, I hit the bottom of the hole. It was surprisingly soft and made a sound as I landed on it.

Then the ground started... speaking?

I listened closely.

"Fit Onf."

"What?" I felt something push me and I rolled off the soft ground onto a harder surface.

"I said, get off." It responded.

"Harper?" I asked it.

"Yep, that's me." She grumbled. "And I feel like every bone in my body just broke, again!"

"Sorry, sorry." I stood up and backed away. I felt my back against something cold and hard. I jumped and squeaked.

"What?" Harper stumbled.

"What was that!" I frantically searched the dark for any light source.

"A- wall?" She said exasperated.

"Oh." I felt dumb, then I remember she had night vision goggles, I didn't. "Well where are we Harper, YOU'RE the genius here."

No response.

"Harper?" I began reaching out into the darkness, looking for something, anything?

"Harper!" I yelped again. I didn't want to admit I was scared. I couldn't see, I didn't know where I was, I didn't know where Harper was.

I wasn't afraid of the dark, just the fact that I couldn't see my surroundings, I felt lost.

I stepped on her foot and she yelped.

"Oh goodness." I clutched my chest, "Don't scare me like that."

"Yeah yeah, come here, I want to show you something."

"I can't see, Harper." I growled.

"Oh yeah."

I heard shuffling and then she slapped me in the face.

"Ow, what was that for?!"

"Sorry, I didn't see you." She chuckled.

Oh. Wait, she has goggles on...

"But, you have the goggles on." Confused? Yes.

"I know." She started laughing silently and I wished I could see her so I could smack her back.

She grabbed the shoulder of my shirt and pulled me along into the darkness. I kept stumbling on rocks and what-not scattered across the ground.

I tripped and fell on Harper, AGAIN! For what seemed like the billionth time!

"Sorry!" I squeaked as I jumped back to my feet.

"It's ok. You're welcome for being your cushion again."

"Yeah, thanks." I grunted.

We started on again. When the light finally illuminated the darkness I rubbed my eyes. It wasn't that bright but, It was bright enough to sting.

The light was accompanied by the whooshing sound of water.

'Where are we at Harper?" I asked as I took in the view.

We were on a ledge in a big cave. The ceilings had stalactites dropping down in the cave. The cave floor, however, was complete water. A brilliant white waterfall fell from the roof in a silent hush into the water. A large man-made island was in the center of the water. Big stalagmites rose out of the water.

Harper jumped up and down squealing, "Look!" She pointed off the ledge we were on down at the ground.

I squinted down to the ground to see what she was pointing at.

"Is that-" I began

"The Batmobile!" She yelped excitedly, unleashing her inner fangirl.

I looked at her and she returned the look. A big grin spread across our faces. If Batman could see us now, he would think that Joker had two insane daughters.

The squeals we made echoed across the dim cave.

The cave was just lit enough that we could clearly see the ground and the objects below us.

Including the Batmobile parked below us. We could also see the huge Mechanical Batman that sat hunkered over in the corner of the man-made island. Under one of the waterfalls was another platform; a harbor of sorts.

The Batboat was tied to the platform and the Bat-Sub just poked out of the waves.

"Woah." I whispered.

I saw Harper nod her head in awe.

"How did you get here?" A deep voice rumbled from behind us.

Before I knew it, Harper had spun around, caught the person off-guard, and bashed her fist into the person's face.

I turned to see a man dressed in all black touching his nose where a small stream of dark red trickled from.
Harpers eyes were popping out of her head and she covered her mouth with her hand.

"Harper!" I shrieked, "You- Hit- Batman!"

Harper began to speak, "Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, oh my gosh!" Then she began rambling words I couldn't understand like, "Neptunes Beard, Quiznak-"

and others.

I looked at Batman who was staring at me with a confused look on his face.

Shrugging I answered the unspoken word, "I don't even know."

Harper turned to me and started talking to me as if Batman wasn't even there, "Well." She touched her neck and sighed, "That's one thing off my bucket list."

I stared at him when suddenly Harper reached out and slapped him on his cheek, before running back into the darkness.
