Location: Merlin's House

Something poking against my cheek was what began waking me up, burying my head in my arms more to try and stop the poking.

Kitty: Jiminy, if that's you then kindly let me sleep...

Consistent poking along with what sounded like a high pitch whining was what I got in response, only confirmed by an annoyed sounding Tamashi.

Tamashi: Please get up and stop the little mini figure thing from making so much noise...

Little mini fig- Mini-Nep? Turning my head slightly, I barely opened one eye and saw Mini-Nep was the one poking my cheek.

Mini-Nep: Nep nep nepu nepu nep!

Kitty: Give me attitude when I'm more awake to deal with it missy...

Harder poking on my cheek was what I got from the now puffed cheek Mini-Nep, causing me to sigh from being woken up like this as I held my hand up to block the poking.

Kitty: Okay, okay, I'm up.

Raising my head, I must have fallen asleep at some point as my head was resting on my arms crossed on the table. The book with the summoning spell still open, so I most likely fell asleep not long after the revolution. Glancing at the clock, it was my turn to be annoyed as I looked at Mini-Nep.

Kitty: Unless you're in a pudding sharing mood, why wake me up so early?

After having about a dozen raspberries blown at me at the idea of her pudding being shared, I finally began getting some sort of answer as Mini-Nep jumped on something. Looking at it, I recognized it as Jiminy's journal.

Kitty: Jiminy's journal?

As Mini-Nep turned the pages, she stopped at once near the beginning. Looking at the writing, it was talking about the Dagger of Time.

Kitty: What's got you so interested in this? You remember all that happened.

Mini-Nep: Nepu Nep Nep!

As Mini-Nep turned it back to where the most recent entry in the journal is, I was wide awake when I saw Jiminy had already written what we talked about last night. That cricket works fast.

Kitty: Okay... So you know about what happened with Chronos... And I'm going to assume that you want me to get the Dagger?

Tamashi: How do you even understand what she's even trying to say?

Ironically, she's less cryptic than you considering she tries to give hints about what she means too. Very ironic considering you're the one who speaks English. Fast nodding from Mini-Nep along with a thumbs up was what proved I was right. Causing me to look at her with a raised brow.

Kitty: How did you even get the journal?

Jiminy hopped back onto the table then, having woken up earlier and was taking a look around.

Jiminy: For someone so small, she can be really insistent when it comes to wanting to know or see something.

I laughed at this, knowing what Jiminy means.

Kitty: Ain't that the truth. Nice of you to let her look through the journal.

After Mini-Nep gave the journal back, she along with Jiminy got onto my shoulder as I got up and headed to go upstairs.

Kitty: Alright, let's get this Dagger. But why do you want me to get it? Considering only you two and Jammy seem to be the ones to remember all, going to need an explanation on the Dagger here.

Mini-Nep looked at me and began to play a game of charades. She began to fight against a shadow as for some reason her shadow began to punch back and leave damage on the her. When holding a small sword up, she began to move in reverse as the fight started back to how it happened, but Mini-Nep began to block or dodge the attacks.

Tamashi: So... I'm confused...

Kitty: So if I take damage during the fight with Chronos, I can rewind time with it?

Mini-Nep nods her head as when seeing the attacks of her shadow go faster, raising her sword again, causing the shadow to begin moving more slowly.

Kitty: And cause time to go slower?

Mini-Nep then gives an uppercut to her shadow and a bell dings with the words "Knock Out!" appearing above her.

Kitty: Nice dramatic effects. You make a good charade player.

Mini-Nep began to bow while her shadow got up and kicked her in her butt. That shadow is rude...

Tamashi: Heh, I like this shadow.

And I'm kicking your butt if or whenever I get the chance for that comment.

Tamashi: The fuck!?

I care about Mini-Nep. You learn to love her, dramatics and all. You on the other hand... Well... You're just dramatic.

Tamashi: Well fine! I was gonna help steal that crappy Dagger for you! If that's how I'm going to be treated, I'm packing my bags and NEVER returning!!

Aren't you the one who said you want to keep me alive? Considering this Dagger would give a big help towards that goal, you might still want to help~

Tamashi: Hmmm... Fine. But only because I want to steal the Dagger.

Whatever you say.

Tamashi: I will fart in your head!!!

Eww! Forget dramatic, you're just gross for that!

Tamashi: And yet, you don't think it's not impossible~

Considering how I know practically NOTHING about you? I'm not ruling anything out for now. As I fought with Tamashi, Mini-Nep was showing what I needed to do to get up to where Jammy and Nintega were. Hopefully it's not going to be a rampage up there. If only there was a way to check- NO MENTION OF THE CUTE NEP!!!

Tamashi: Hey! Thinking of survival here!!

That doesn't mean that Nep needs to be put through that! Sounds like she already got traumatized enough from Maleficent causing this whole mess.

Tamashi: Tch... Whatever. Just get the damn Dagger already. You're boring me here now.

And once again, blah, blah, blah is all I hear from you. As the piece that takes you up came down, I got onto it and started heading up. Once upon the floor, it felt so cold. Shivers were going down my spine from how dark it was, the aura feeling so thick as if threatening to swallow the whole house if it wasn't contained.

Kitty: Geez... Never realized it was going to be this bad... Maleficent better be glad she's in hiding...

Mini-Nep: Neeeeeep...

Looking at Mini-Nep, I gently patted her head with a finger as I gave a small smile.

Kitty: It's okay, things will get better.

Focusing, I made a small ball of light and levitated it in the air enough to be able to see better. Though, I wish I hadn't when I see the chaos and damage the room has taken as I could see Nintega brutally bruised and beaten up while Jammy was still in his darkness state. Thankfully, he seems to have been sedated. Growls were coming out of him as if he had regressed to being an animal. Why did Maleficent have to do this?! Focus, just need to get the Dagger. Jammy may be sedated, but I can't risk anything if he wakes up. Using Stopga magic, I began moving over to where Jammy was slowly as I felt my nerves on the fritz if I mess up the spell. As I got closer, I saw no movement from him as I got closer. When getting close enough, I felt I should layer the spell as I casted Stopgra again before using SP to use Time Stop. I'm not sure how much time I have with SP, but I hope it is enough as I pressed my hand on Jammy's chest. When focusing, I felt resistance on my hand as I saw the disk sliding out of his chest. I took the Dagger and inserted it into me for safe keeping. To avoid any suspicion, I got the disk with the wings and inserted it into Jammy so he still had a disk. As time resumed, I looked at Jammy as he was still frozen in the effect of Stopga and began to make my leave. As I dissipated the light, we began to go into the lift as we went down. As we did, I saw Jammy lift his head once out of his frozen state as if having sensed something before we got out of there.

Kitty: Never... Want to do that... Again...

I could feel my heart beating so fast from how terrifying that experience was... But at least I know Stopra works and can layer it, and getting better with the time stop with SP. That's a bonus. As I sat back down, I focused on bringing out the Dagger as I held it and looked at the tanks. One tank of sand was gone, and some of the other sand for slowing time was used. But it was mostly at full power, which is a huge relief.

Kitty: Well, if the wings and Dagger weren't in much use, best for them to be swapped to have better usage.

Jiminy: It would be great to use the powers to a better advantage.

Mini-Nep: Nepu!

Mini-Nep was punching the air and standing proudly.

Kitty: Hehe~ Yes. I will make sure Chronos gets his butt whooped. Or at least the helmet gets broken, that's the main focus.

Mini-Nep: Nep!

Mini-Nep then looked up and was worried as she began to cry as tiny tears began to fall as she had been through much.

Kitty: Aww, Nep. I know things aren't the best right now, but Jammy will get better. Merlin is the best wizard, Jammy's in safe hands while he recovers.

Mini-Nep looked up at me with her beady little eyes as tears were in them as her voice was shaky.

Mini-Nep: Neeeeeeeep...

Kitty: We're all working hard to see if we can help as well while finding everyone and keeping everyone safe. Dangerous yes, but no one is giving up. One thing for sure, Jammy loves you so much. Just you being here is a help as well.

Mini-Nep looked at herself and exclaimed how she could help. I poked her forehead gently.

Kitty: You dummy, you've been protected the whole time by him because of how much he cares. The heart can never forget people someone cares about. Even just seeing someone, can help keep someone's sanity. You're loved by him, stay with him to show that he's always got someone by his side. That right now, is the biggest help.

Mini-Nep: Nep...?

Kitty: Please, keep being there with Jammy. He needs someone with him, and you're the best hope for that. I'll buy you all the pudding you want when we get back home.

I knew that would get her, as soon as I mentioned it, Mini-Nep began to jump and round around Merlin's house. I watched this happening, laughing softly along with Jiminy from how she went from worried to being on a sugar rush hype in a second.

Kitty: Don't think there's any need to ask if you'll help with this.

Mini-Nep then stopped in front of me and gave a salute with a spoon in hand as if standing at attention. This caused me to laugh more, especially seeing the spoon.

Kitty: Unless it's suddenly cloudy with a chance of pudding, I don't think you'll need the spoon yet.

Mini-Nep: NEP!!!

Mini-Nep began to swing the spoon around as if wanting to catch pudding.

Kitty: We do not have a machine that can magically just make it rain pudding.

Hearing me say that, Mini-Nep then slumped her shoulders.

Tamashi: Heh. You disappointed her.

Shut it, I know what I'm doing. Saying this to Tamashi, I looked at Mini-Nep.

Kitty: But along with getting the puddings for you, I can make you one. A giant one just for you to have on your own.

Mini-Nep then looked at me as her eyes were just glowing at the mention of a giant pudding cup just for her as she began to drool. Moving the books away before they got drool on them, I giggled at her reactions.

Kitty: Going to take that as a yes.

Mini-Nep began to nod her head while hugging her spoon tightly. I smiled, petting her head gently.

Kitty: Just be patient a little longer until we have this sorted, then we'll all be home safe and sound.

Mini-Nep nodded her head as she understood what I was telling her. I sighed relieved that she understood, looking at the clock and thinking it's best to start going.

Kitty: I should really be getting back to the others, see how the ship repairs are doing.

Mini-Nep nodded her head as she then jumped onto my thigh and hugged it. I smiled at how sweet this was, finding it really cute too.

Kitty: Awww~ You're so cute.

Mini-Nep: Nepu~

I giggled and smiled more, Mini-Nep hugging my thigh more before jumping back onto the table. As I got up, I put the books away to give a small thank you to Merlin for the help. Jiminy hopped back on the table as I put the books away, saying a quick goodbye for now to Mini-Nep. Those two really do make the best friends. Getting the books I'm borrowing away, Jiminy hopped back on my shoulder as I looked at Nep.

Kitty: Be good for everyone Nep.

Mini-Nep gave a soft wave to us as she understood to be good. As I was about to leave the house, I heard Merlin calling out as I looked back at him.

Merlin: Ah, good. I caught you juuuuuust before you were going to leave.

Kitty: Morning Merlin. What's going on?

Merlin: I made you something. Here.

Merlin held out a small device looking thing as it could fit into my pocket nicely.

Merlin: That there is a Personal Omni-directional Concentrated Everlasting Time-space generator. POCET for short.

And here I thought understanding the TARDIS was confusing. This... Makes no sense at all...

Kitty: A... What?

Merlin: Think of it as a separate dimension at the push of a button. You'll be able to create a door to get in and come out anytime you wish.

Kitty: Okay, making more sense now. What's it for?

Merlin: For your training of course! You said you needed to learn stuff as fast as you can? Nothing can be learned in an instant. Everything takes time, my dear friend. With it, you'll be transported to a place where it's outside of this dimension you're in. You'll be able to learn what you want and for however long you wish, and when you come back, it'll feel like nothing has happened.

Ohhh, it's this place's version of the Dragon Ball Time Chamber.

Kitty: Did you make this? That... That was some quick work.

Merlin: You're talking to the wizard Merlin. Nothing is impossible when you have the right thoughts and energy.

Kitty: Fair, very fair, point. Thank you, this is going to help a lot.

Merlin: Whenever you need to recover or regain lost energy, make use of it. It'll recover what all you need and help you focus better.

Kitty: Is there anything this CAN'T do?

Merlin: Well, restock on food, it can't do that, but I did leave food that is being well-preserved by magic and will stay like that until you touch it to eat it.

As I took the device, I put it in my pocket for safekeeping. I'll have to try this out when we finish the next world.

Kitty: And admiring how much you thought of everything on this. Thank you again, Merlin.

Merlin: I'm not going to lie to you, Kitty. With who you are about to face, you'll need to be prepared for anything and find your courage.

Just like the dog named after it loses his, my courage is going just as fast. Yeah... That's going to take a LOT of work.

Kitty: Realized that... Way too late after making the deal. I'm planning on getting as much preparations done as possible.

Merlin: Kitty, I'm being serious when I say this.

Merlin got in close and rested a hand on my shoulder.

Merlin: We all are afraid of something. Sure, even small things as well. I wasn't just called Merlin the Wizard just because I wanted. It took a lot of hard work, hard studying, lots of practice and dedication. Of course there were times I was afraid to face them. But I knew it had to be done. Kitty, I know you are too. And believe me when I tell you this, but I believe you can do it.

Kitty: Afraid for sure. Courage is not a strong subject at all. But thank you for the belief, that's really going to be the biggest help.

Merlin: It's not just me, everyone believes in you. You have great potential. I promise you won't be fighting alone, you'll know I'm cheering you on.

And suddenly glad holding back tears was possible, because I never knew how much I needed to hear this.

Merlin: You're allowed to cry if you really need to, all I know is that, we've all been there when it comes to being scared. But if you let that control you, vs you channeling your emotions, you won't get far if you keep panicking. You must learn how to harness your emotions and turn them to your power.

Kitty: If there's any magic in turning emotions into power, that would be great. But I'll do my best on that, some training should help.

Merlin: I hope it does. Maybe when you get a chance, try focusing on what emotions boost which?

Kitty: Huh, never thought about that. I'll be sure to keep that in mind.

Merlin: I promise you will be able to do it. You are strong, you just need to search deep down and find what you're seeking.

Courage, skills, a mouth that doesn't speak before my brain finishes thinking into making deals. But I really need to go before I cry, hate crying in front of others.

Kitty: And hopefully I'll find whatever it is I'm seeking. Thank you for all the advice and help, Merlin.

Merlin: Don't thank me yet. Thank me AFTER you come back from that fight. Once you find what you're seeking, it leads to great rewards.

Despite wanting to ask more, a quick glance in a direction was enough to know why it's best to be cryptic for now. We're being spied upon... The villain's hideout... Hollow Bastion, if I know how they're spying on us, I'd love to find a way to stop it.

Kitty: Thank you once more for all the advice. I'll see you soon, Merlin.

As I left the house and began heading back, I sighed as I couldn't keep lying to myself. I knew things were getting worse, but it's just a question of how much worse. Astral Chain was a massive eye opener, groups of enemies we all struggled with. If we want to get through this better, we need to get more prepared. With thinking about how everyone could get stronger, I then remembered about the Coliseum where Hercules and Phil are at. If... And that's a big if... Phil won't flirt all the time, they can really help. I'll suggest it to the group and see what they say. Thinking this, I entered the first district to meet up with everyone and hope Cid isn't going to knock me out for the Old Man comment.

Location: First District.

As I entered the First District after leaving Merlin's, I took the path leading up to where Cid was, but stopped at the new house before thinking about going in. Curious about it, I began heading towards it as I heard voices inside when I got closer. Sora's I recognized, and the other two voices sounded familiar as well.

Sora: You found this gem when in that giant whale?

???: I did! It seemed so out of place with all the boxes, so I took it in case it was important.

???: Ever the curious one my boy is.

Giant whale? No wonder I recognized the voices! It's Pinocchio and Geppeto in the house! Jiminy breathed a sigh of relief they were safe as I smiled. Nintega did say they'd end up here, so it's really glad to hear they got here safe and have a place of their own.

Tamashi: Yeah... But that boy is a pain when it comes to lying. Can't even get away with something if his nose grows. I say cut it off and then he can lie as much as he wants.

Some people don't actually WANT to be liars you know? Pinocchio becomes a real boy in the movie, and a really kind boy at that.

Tamashi: Yeah... AFTER he ran away from home, smoked some dubies, drank weird stuff and became a side show puppet. All before becoming a real boy.

I never said mistakes weren't made, but that's still part of learning.

Tamashi: Yeah... If you say getting eaten by a whale with the Father that risked his life looking for you, yeah. Lessons learned.

We also got eaten by said whale earlier in this adventure, point being? Not like anyone plans for that to happen.

Tamashi: I'm just sayin' is all. But I'm not a Saiyan like that monkey boy.

Oh she better be glad she's just a voice, or she would be in for it!! Taking deep breaths before I got any thoughts on if it's possible to pummel a voice, I got closer to the house and was about to knock. That was until almost getting knocked over by an excited Sora holding a keychain and gem.

Kitty: Whoa! Found another magic book to get excited about?

Sora: Even better! Pinocchio just gave me a Summon Gem!

Kitty: A summon gem? Must have found it in Monstro. But that's great for you!

Sora: Heading to Merlin's to see if I can get Fairy Godmother energy back into this.

Kitty: Just go to the pumpkin, Fairy Godmother will appear in a second. Have fun with your own summon.

Sora: Thanks! Gonna find some Heartless so I can torment them now!

Kitty: Hold on a second! I was going to suggest heading back to the colosseum for training, so they'll be Heartless there to help with training and the new summon.

Sora: Awwww... Fine.

Kitty: Good training for the games when they happen too.

Thinking about what I said, Sora looked at me and felt better.

Sora: Okay, but I'm going to lead the charge when they happen!

I had to hold the laugh back from how easily excited he got, nodding in agreement.

Kitty: Sounds like a plan.

Getting excited again, Sora began to run to the Fairy Godmother as I smiled and turned, but when I did, I saw Cid in front of me. And all the bravery I had before has suddenly gone.

Kitty: Umm... Hi...?

Cid: "Hi"!? Is that all you can say AFTER what my precious work of art has done for you!?

Kitty: Usually hi is a common form of greeting. How is the ship doing anyway?

Cid: I know what a greeting is, kid! And the ship is nearly done. Seriously, what the HELL, did you all do to make it such a wreck?

Kitty: Let's see... Chased through space by robots, sent through a portal and the system being fried because of it, and having to make an emergency crash landing on a building to stay alive. That about sums it up.

Cid blinked as he then began to facepalm in how stupid he heard that.

Cid: On second thought... I rather not imagine what happened.

Kitty: Best decision there. Thanks for helping to repair the ship again. And the AI is a huge help too.

Cid: You're welcome. With how new the ship was, there was so little flight data on it. So, I took what was the most experienced flight it had, and ran it through tests. What you see is Wayfinder's development from here on out.

Kitty: Most experienced flight? Right, you can call it that... Was there really no other basic flying instructions that could have been used? Donald's practically having a heart attack every time Wayfinder flies the ship.

Cid: Hey, if it's anything, Wayfinder adapts to situations. Most cases, you might have to deal with swerving due to needing to dodge something.

Kitty: Can't... Deny that with how Wayfinder already helped with that a lot. Genius Ai for sure.

Cid: It helps as there is a sensor for danger too.

Kitty: Is there anything that CAN'T be done with Wayfinder?

Cid: I can load up other forms to suit your needs and personalities?

Kitty: How is that even possible?!

Cid: Settings.

Kitty: Really can do anything with AI. Don't think it's best to mess around too much with it though, just so the duck actually doesn't have a heart attack.

Kitty: Sounds good, thanks again for the repairs. We'll try not to damage it too much.

Cid looked at me and shrugged his shoulders.

Cid: If you ask me, it shouldn't matter who flies the ship as long as everyone gets there okay.

Cid: And to be fair, fighting over the wheel will lead to crashes too.

I sweat dropped, thinking about Deep Jungle and how the wheel got broken off in a fight with Sora, Donald and Jammy.

Kitty: That's already happened.

Cid: Point proven.

Kitty: You- Didn't you say you needed to do some things on the ship?

Cid: Yes.

Kitty: You know what would be great? Having a fully repaired ship.

Cid began to growl as he picked up his repair tools and tub of glue. Wait... WHY A TUB OF GLUE!?

Cid: Well, now you got me fired up!! You want this ship repaired, I'll get you a ship done before you guys head out again!!!

Kitty: Why do you even have a tub of glue?

Cid: To help the Gummi Blocks stick better together!! It's SUPER GLUE!!!

Kitty: If parts of the ship fall off now, at least I know who to blame.

Cid: Hey! I'm doing my best here! There's only so much a ship can handle on the same parts!!

Kitty: Joking, joking! The super glue is a good idea, really!

Cid huffed and crossed his arms as he seemed content now.

Cid: DAMN STRAIGHT! Now go on! GIT!! I have work to fix this up so you all have a ride to go with. Just keep using the warp feature to get from system to system. And whatever worlds you all haven't gone to yet, just fly solo.

I gave a mock salute at Cid when he said about the warp feature, keeping this in mind.

Kitty: Aye, aye boss.

Cid began to go and get to work on the ship more as he seemed to be extra energized. Being able to breathe easier at him not being mad at me, the next thing to do was sort out potion ingredients. As I wandered around, seeing the café area, I decided to go over there as a candle lit up as I sat down. I took the book out on potion making to see how I can understand that first. When seeing about needing certain materials, the first thing I thought was... Why must I choose expensive magic?! I'm gonna have to declare bankruptcy getting all these ingredients... First thing to do though is decide what potions to focus on. It was a quick look at the potion names, but it was enough to figure out what potions are going to help. Some were more complicated, but they all were things that can be made quick as for now I decided on swiftness, night vision, strength, paralysis, fortify block, restore stamina and lingering damage. Things to help us, and things that will make battles easier when affecting the enemy. There also seemed to be notes by Merlin in the book on where to find the ingredients. Luckily, a lot of things I can easily buy from the shops here. Though, it seems I might really have to declare bankruptcy with the prices Merlin put down... Just when I thought I was joking about that... Oh well, it will be worth it if it helps everyone in the end. Writing down the needed ingredients, noticing some can be used in different potions, I headed to where the shops are. In the shop window, I could see some ingredients for sale as a lot was what I needed as I headed in to buy them. But when I was looking, I saw one ingredient that not only looked beautiful, but what I had read in a book. A White Lotus of Light, it is said that when mixed into a potion, it would cleanse the feeling of Darkness out of the individual that consumes it. It wouldn't fully remove the darkness, but help with control at the very least. It was going to be complicated to make a potion with it, and I'd needed to be a lot more skillful in potion making, but I have a feeling that this could be useful. Getting it to buy, along with the listed ingredients, I left the shop to get them onto the ship. Only problem...

Kitty: Why... Must so many ingredients be in jars...?!

I hadn't accounted that with all the ingredients I needed to buy, it would make me struggle to carry all the bags they filled with jars full of what I bought. Maybe I could just go back and forth and take them one at a time. Or see if I can balance out the weight more. Sitting down on a bench and putting the bags down, I prayed I could get this sorted.

???: FIGHT ME!!!

???: WHAT IS WITH YOU KID!? LEAVE ME ALONE!!

Jiminy: Is that Leon and Beat?

I looked up from the bags when Jiminy said this to see Beat annoying Leon, whose patience was barely hanging on by a thread. Huh, and I thought only Yuffie could get him so annoyed. But hearing what Beat yelled, I sighed as it was easy to see why Leon was annoyed.

Kitty: Beat, leave him alone! You're way too obsessed with fighting...

Looking at me, Beat began to shake his fist.

Beat: You think it's okay for me to just sit on my ass and wait for a challenge!? He's got a big sword and is tough!! I WANT HIM TO FIGHT ME!!!

Kitty: You say sitting, but weren't you the one being floated in the air by Chibi? And if you keep making Leon mad, it probably won't end well for you.

Leon: Seriously kid, I'm not fighting you. I have more important things to do than fight someone like you.

Beat: What do you mean someone like me?!

Leon: I mean, you're immature, you're power hungry, you're impatient, rude, obnoxious, unreasonable, loud, child-like, and most of all annoying.

I was trying so hard not to laugh at Beat right now, who was acting like he was being shot by arrows with each word Leon said before falling to the ground.

Beat: Well that was mean...

Leon: It's the truth.

I rolled my eyes at Beat continuing to lay on the floor, before getting an idea to get him away from Leon.

Kitty: Hey Beat, if you help me get these bags to the ship, Riku said about doing some training. Maybe he could help you?

Leon: Yeah, how about you being more useful helping your friend rather than fighting me?

Beat grumbled under his breath, but did help as he got the bags and began walking off to where the ship is. The one time I'm jealous of Saiyan strength...

Leon: Seriously... What is with that kid?

Kitty: If he sees someone he classes as strong, he's got a one mind track... Surprised that it actually worked to stop him annoying you.

Leon: Whatever it was, I'm glad he's out of my hair for a moment. For however long that is...

Kitty: You've got some time until Riku gets annoyed with him. That's going to be a while though, that kid has some patience.

Leon: I pray for anyone that has to deal with that kid's obnoxiousness...

Kitty: You learn to deal with it.

Leon: I'm not sure I'll be able to be calm around him... You wouldn't believe what he would do in finding me to fight him...

Kitty: What has that idiot done this time...?

Leon: Where do I EVEN begin??? First it was when he kept knocking at my door when I was trying to sleep. Next, it was when he appeared out of nowhere and made me drop my groceries. Then when he almost got in my way while training and nearly lost his head. Finally when I was trying to go to the bathroom!

I groaned and held my head in my hands, regretting my choice of befriending the one tracked mind monkey right now.

Kitty: How that guy keeps getting worse, never going to understand that... We may be heading out for some training soon, he could come with us for a bit. That should hopefully satisfy him.

Leon: Please do. It's not only getting annoying for me, but even my allies here in town...

Kitty: Of course he would manage to annoy them too... How is everyone doing except for Beat?

Leon looked to the side and sighed.

Leon: I wish it could be better. It seems they're trying to make sure they're all keeping busy.

Kitty: Unfamiliar place, that would be stressful... Are they at least resting enough?

Leon: We're doing all we can to provide comfort here. Your friends are in safe hands.

Kitty: Thank you for helping them, it's a relief to know they're safe here.

Leon: We know what it's like to lose friends... Hell... I had to change my name after all...

Kitty: I did notice Yuffie calling you Squall back at the hotel. Mind if I ask what the name change was for?

Leon looked at me and sighed before sitting down on the bench next to me.

Leon: It all started long ago. We were only kids then... We had a wise leader named Ansem. We lived in peace and were happy. But that peace didn't last as the Heartless soon came to our world. Left and right, the Heartless began to take the people and cause chaos on our world. In truth, it was Cid that helped us get out of the world when we had nowhere else to go. Ever since, we found this place, been trying to make use of it. That's when slowly, more people began to appear in this world. Because when the world those belonged to have disappeared, those lucky enough wind up here. Otherwise... They're gone along with their world into Darkness... Ever since, I've been training, preparing to fight, preparing to defend this town from the Heartless. Because if we couldn't find the Keyhole before they did... This world would have disappeared too, and those surviving here would disappear as well...

Despite knowing the risks of what the Heartless could do if finding the Keyhole first, it didn't make it any easier hearing stories like this.

Kitty: I'm... I'm so sorry that happened... It's good you were able to get here but... Still losing your home would be hard... When did all this happen? Was it Maleficent that caused all this?

Leon: No one knows... But when we were leaving on the ship... I could see a hag cackling down below as we all flew off, soon finding Traverse Town...

I looked at Leon, surprised at the hag cackling comment.

Kitty: That... There's only one hag I could think of... Maleficent. She's been pulling tricks this whole time...

Leon: Like what?

Kitty: Like the fact she's still trying to cause chaos despite her losing control of her syndicate, just proves how insane she is in still trying to get her plans on track. She's supposedly in hiding, but that's doubtful...

Leon: If we only knew what she was planning...

Kitty: That would make it easier... Best thing to do though is just hope she doesn't try anything further...

Leon: Please... I rather not know what else she has in store... To be honest... I'm not sure how much I have it in me to be this strong still...

I looked at Leon as I rested a hand on his shoulder to give some sympathy.

Kitty: Then just don't be. It's more exhausting trying the whole time to be strong. Nothing wrong with just admitting you need a break or help.

Leon looked at me and sighed while looking back to the stars.

Leon: Maybe... You're right... Don't know how long I've been doing this day in and day out...

Kitty: I think ALL of you need to get a break. You said everyone's been trying to keep busy, but that's not going to help if you all push yourself to exhaustion. Have you ever... Just taken some time off? Just... Even just walk around the town without constantly thinking about protecting it the whole time?

Leon began to think softly as he closed his eyes. Not even giving me an answer.

Kitty: You know silence gives an answer too, right? Yeesh... You all should just take some time, even just a few hours and have some fun. Go to a cafe, do some shopping, anything to just enjoy the town and see you've been doing enough to help already.

Leon: I... I don't know...

Kitty: Agree to this or I'm getting Beat back here without taking him with us.

Leon: Urk...!

Kitty: Wellll~? Going to agree to a break~?

Leon groaned with how I had the upper hand in throwing him off guard.

Leon: You really know how to get under someone's skin, don't you...?

Kitty: I prefer looking at it as caring for my friends.

Leon: Ugh... You won't give up until I say yes, will you?

Kitty: Hmmm... No, no I won't.

Leon was going to say something else, but in the distance, he seemed to see something, but when looking, I could tell what he was looking at.

Beat (in the distance): LEON!!! FIGHT ME!!!

Leon: Okay! We're taking a break! But you're going to show me how to have a break with the others!!!

Kitty: Deal. Let me deal with this monkey.

Looking at Beat, I shouted out to him.

Kitty: BEAT! Go back to the ship, and you could have the chance to fight a stronger opponent when we leave! One who's faced gods, even Hades before!

Stopping in his tracks, with his monkey tail swaying at the thought of wanting to fight a God, Beat then turns around and begins to run back to the ship.

Beat: GOD! GOD! GOD! GOD! GOD!!!

Going onto the ship, I could hear Cid as he was working on the ship.

Cid (in the distance): HEY! DON'T SHAKE THE SHIP!!

I groaned at how Beat caused more trouble, hoping Cid doesn't get too mad.

Kitty: That kid better not cause too much trouble...

Leon: He's your friend, you deal with him.

Kitty: As long as he gets a good fight, he'll be quiet for a while to give some peace.

Leon: You want to bet on that?

Kitty: No thanks...

I say this because I know I'll lose as Beat is a fighting hungry Saiyan who wants a fight just as much as wanting to eat food... Please let us go to the Coliseum now so I don't get a headache from him...

Leon: So... Now that monkey is satiated for now... I think we should get on to more pressing concerns... What updates can you give me about the journey so far...?

I groaned and wanted to just sink into the bench to avoid this whole talk. Unable to do that though, I just rested my head back to look at the stars.

Kitty: If you want good news, the only thing I can give there is more Keyholes have been sealed.

Leon: Just give it to me...

Kitty: Chronos is getting more active, directly messing with the worlds now and making more appearances... We've got about two more worlds to go to before going to Hollow, but we barely survived as it was in the last world. If we get overpowered by any stronger enemies, then... Well I'll hope they'll be more Keyblade Wielders or someone is chosen by the Keyblade...

Leon: Just how bad was the last world?

I closed my eyes, taking a few shaky breaths to keep my nerves from getting frazzled just thinking about it.

Kitty: It was another portal with the power disks. It was a blessing and curse I knew about the world. A very mutual hatred between me and the main villain made it a game of life and death in the end. We kept getting captured just for our powers, Chronos already went there so they were expecting our arrival. It was put my life on the line to get everyone out or face the consequences...

Leon: I... Damn...

Kitty: Chronos also knows about me being a Princess of Heart, he told me that when we had a... Confrontation... All the villains would now likely know of it...

Leon began to run a hand over his face as he seemed to be getting stressed.

Leon: This can't get any worse...

Tamashi: I sense a jinx in the force.

WHAT THE HELL IS THAT SUPPOSED TO MEAN!? I swear... If you cause Maleficent to appear now... I will-

???: And here I was wanting to just sit idly by, but with you all talking about me now, how could I resist~

Tamashi: Oh, would you look at the time, it's cooking o-clock! I think I'll go make some dinner!

WHY DO YOU EVEN HAVE A KITCH- I can't believe I almost fell for that. Suddenly, I began to hear sizzling noises in my head.

Tamashi: What? I need to eat too.

You could at least share with me... Not the main issue right now! Despite wanting to try whatever Tamashi was cooking, I needed to deal with the person who just appeared. Jiminy jumped into one of my pockets for safety, but I could still see him listening.

Leon: What are you doing here?!

A soft chuckle could be heard from Maleficent as she smiled.

Maleficent: Nothing. Just, running a few... "Errands" they say.

Leon: And what "Errands" would you even have here?! You're not welcome, leave!

Maleficent: Be quiet. I have no business with you. But your... "Cat" friend here.

Leon and I exchanged a confused glance, before I looked at Maleficent.

Kitty: It's Kitty. And what "business" do you have? Just note, I already hold no interest in what you have to say.

Maleficent: Ah, but yet, word goes around and that is to say, you are preparing for something?

Kitty: We have worlds to save, of course there's preparations. And that has something to do with you because?

Maleficent: That depends, IF you want my help in your agendas.

Kitty: Why should I even trust you?

Maleficent: Because we both have a common enemy in mind. And I rather be the one that doesn't fall in the end.

I scoffed as I looked directly at Maleficent. Leon would find out, it's best not to sugarcoat anything.

Kitty: So... You just want me as the sacrifice against Chronos for you to get back on top?

Maleficent: We both know Chronos is someone who is a force to be reckoned with. And putting you in his line of sights is the furthest thing I want.

Kitty: Really? Because it sure sounds like that's what you wanted.

Maleficent: It was. But his reasons for wanting to collect the Hearts are vastly different from my own.

Kitty: You're both power hungry maniacs. What's the difference?

Maleficent: He may be collecting the Hearts, but it's not for his OWN objectives...

I raised a brow, getting slightly more interested if it means getting any info on Chronos.

Kitty: And you know what his reasons are?

Maleficent: He has been visited by two people... Two people I have never seen before NOR ever met. Yet, their Darkness is both... How should I say it... One was undeveloped, while another was shrouded in it...

Kitty: Already had the... "Pleasure"... Of meeting one... Didn't realize there were two he was working with though...

Maleficent: Was one of them young and another in a brownish or greenish cloak?

Thinking back to Destiny Islands, my eyes widened realizing Sora and I met the cloak guy in the caves. And on the ship before Atlantica.

Kitty: Correction, both met already... Young Xehanort is one. Ansem, Seeker of darkness is the cloak guy.

Maleficent was taken aback when hearing that first name.

Maleficent: Xehanort?!

Kitty: History there?

Maleficent: You could say that... Though... The Xehanort I met was older... He didn't look as young as when I saw him...

Kitty: Oh great... Different versions of that creep...

Maleficent: Only thing is... I only met him once when I was back on my world before the Heartless took the Heart of that world. That was roughly around 10 years ago. And during that time, he was only an old man.

Kitty: Well now there's two. Glad there's only one of you to deal with now, you're enough to deal with already.

Maleficent: As it should be. If there were two, I would rather be the one victorious!

Kitty: Point proven on you being a power hungry maniac~

Maleficent: Except, I want to control ALL worlds. From what I heard... Should the cloaked man get his hands on Kingdom Hearts... All worlds will be lost in Darkness.

I tensed at this, not expecting this news at all.

Kitty: Please... Tell me you're not being serious there...

Maleficent: Would I be here if I didn't mean it? Should they obtain the Final Keyhole, it will only be a matter of time before they send every world into Darkness. All your work in even sealing the Keyholes will be undone and no world will be safe.

I groaned and buried my face in my hands, screaming and crying hard inside.

Kitty: Understanding why you're here more now... Aren't you worried about Chronos seeing you here?

Maleficent: The real question is, why should I stick my neck out for all of you when I want nothing more than to see you destroyed?

Kitty: Fair point. WHY are you actually willing to help? Not just because of the worlds being at risk of darkness, I doubt you'd risk your safety just for that.

Maleficent: Should the Darkness engulf all the worlds, there would be no safe place to ever run to. Existence as we know will cease as everyone will be lost. I may want to rule, but self-preservation to ensure ALL worlds don't become lost in Darkness is more important.

I was seeing her points, but it was the same for my own safety as I looked at her.

Kitty: How do I know if I trust you, you're not just going to take advantage? You're still wanting the Hearts too. So how would I know I'll be safe?

Maleficent: Had I wanted to get your heart, it would have been done whenever possible. But as far as things have been, Chronos has 6 Princess of Heart and should he get his hands on you while defenseless, there will be nothing that can stop him from creating the Keyhole.

Kitty: Seems to me you're really the defenseless one, considering you were practically banished from Hollow. What would even working with you include?

Maleficent: Considering I was the one that ATTACKED that world-

Bad choice of words there... Out of the corner of my eye, I could see Leon had no patience left with Maleficent.

Leon: So... YOU were the one that made us lose our home...

Leon: And I have no time to listen to you taking advantage of someone. LEAVE.

Maleficent: And should I not?

Leon: Then you'll be forced to leave.

Maleficent glanced only at Leon, but then looked back at me. Giving me a look that if she is forced to leave, she will never get another chance again to speak to me. I sighed as despite not wanting to listen, this may be the best source of info I can get.

Kitty: If I let you finish whatever you want to say and give an answer, will you leave straight after?

Maleficent: Only if your simpleton of a guard doesn't make me, then yes.

I looked at Leon, pleading as I mouthed at him to trust me. Leon still didn't seem happy, but said nothing. Taking that as a good sign, I looked back at Maleficent.

Kitty: Keep talking.

Maleficent: Considering my reign over Hollow Bastion, there are secret entrances and routes one can take. Even dare say a way to get to the Heart Chamber where all the Princesses are being held.

Looking at Maleficent surprised, I couldn't deny how this is the best shot at getting the Princesses free.

Kitty: What is it you'd be wanting in return?

Maleficent: I would like to... Stay here instead of hopping from one world to the next.

Kitty: That's up to Leon, I'm not agreeing to that unless he's fine with it.

Leon: Absolutely not. After all you've done? You're lucky that you're not being attacked right now.

Maleficent looked at Leon, not seeming bothered by his answer.

Maleficent: Then would you risk your friends in danger in an unknown world? You should know how dangerous that world is now, and yet this is the best chance of getting info. But if that is what you wish, then I'll go with the next best choice. Even though I prefer a better mode of transportation, I'll have to ride their... "Gummi Ship" was it?

Kitty: Yes to the name, no way to riding it. Trust me... It wouldn't be Chronos you'd need protecting from if you did that...

Maleficent: Surely you kid...

Kitty: We all know what happened in Atlantica.

Maleficent: Then where could I possibly even go for protection???

Kitty: Calm it, I never said you wouldn't still be with us. Merlin made a device, a whole separate dimension that not even Chronos knows about. If you stay there, no one can get to you.

I got the device out and pressed the button. When I did, a door appeared.

Kitty: Though even I'm unsure what it's like there, I've not had the chance to look yet.

Maleficent: Then what are we waiting for? Go in and we will follow.

Kitty: Witches first.

Maleficent looked at me and scoffed before walking to the door and opening it up. As she went in, I went in after her as Leon entered too.

Just a quick glance and my jaw could have hit the ground. This looks so cool!

Maleficent: This space exists... But it seems to almost stretch to eternity by stepping out there.

Kitty: Time is faster here, yet still at the same pace outside. Could be possible for a year here to be a day outside.

Maleficent: A year inside of here equaling to a day out there? That would mean I age faster here considering we're messing with time.

Kitty: You can deal with that, or keep hopping around world to world. This is the safest place you have.

Maleficent groans in feeling how her odds of survival were.

Kitty: I'm sorry there isn't much of a better option, but... No one deserves to be fearful and have to keep hiding like that. Even the most Wicked Witches of all times.

Maleficent looked at me and scoffed.

Maleficent: Just because I'm helping you on my end, does not mean I like you or anyone else. When Chronos is taken care of, my reign will return to Hollow Bastion.

Kitty: Feelings mutual on hating you as well...

Maleficent: Likewise.

Kitty: So, happy staying here for the info? Or are we sending you back out to hide under whatever rock you crawled out of?

Maleficent glared at me for saying that to her as she then faced me.

Maleficent: This space is probably the only one where I can hide in peace. And should I try going back out there, it would be a matter of time before he finds me.

Kitty: Yes, MY personal space where I was meant to have peace. I'm risking a lot here for you right now if Chronos finds out about this.

Maleficent: Then it would be in your best interests to train while you have the time you can. From my point of view, you're not even ready from what I can see.

Kitty: What are you on about now...?

Maleficent: Let me ask you this... Do you even think you have a chance of defeating me in combat?

Kitty: No, I don't think so. Which is what the space is for. Again, what are you talking about?

I narrowed my eyes at Maleficent, knowing what she meant.

Maleficent: You don't think this is going unnoticed? You are preparing for something. A separate dimension where you can train with no disturbance, a spell to accelerate time here while the outside is normal, and the alchemy books you were even reading.

Kitty: There can be a lot of reasons for that, such as trying to beat the villains. If you're trying to be next on that list, you're doing a great job at that.

Maleficent: Tell me... Do you really think you'll be ready when you fight Chronos to protect those you cherish?

I hissed under my breath, closing my eyes while breathing deeply before I lost control of my anger. Leon, keeping an eye on Maleficent, broke his silence.

Leon: What are you even talking about?!

Maleficent: Seems not everyone was filled in on your "recent" events.

Kitty: SOMEONE interrupted before I was given the chance too.

Maleficent: Well, you'll have to explain that yourself then.

As much as I wanted to kick Maleficent out right now, I couldn't keep letting her get under my skin. Sighing, I looked at Leon.

Kitty: When Chronos and I had a confrontation, it just... Did not end well. In the end... The only way there was a chance of giving some sense of safety for the others was to make a deal to fight him. His identity revealed if I win, or he's got the last Princess if he wins...

Leon widened his eyes as he looked at me.

Leon: What?!

Kitty: It was the last thing I wanted to do! But there wasn't much choice... Jiminy, Merlin and you are the only ones told. I'm trying to keep it secret so know one gets involved.

Maleficent: Tell me, does this happen a lot where you try to hide your doings and they get revealed like this?

Kitty: You're on thin ice. We've not made any deals official, so I'd be careful what you say.

Maleficent only smirked in knowing I couldn't get rid of her if I wanted. She knew the information on the enemy stronghold was too much to pass up and reject.

Tamashi: If I could strangle this bitch right now, I would hope she melts like the Wicked Witch of the West.

Ha! Now that would be the most glorious sight to see! Sadly though, I still need her right now.

Tamashi: Come on! Just throw some water on her. Let me see if she melts.

Nope. At least let me get the info first.

Actually yes, that's one of the ones I'll be learning.

Such a pain in the head to hear and be stuck with. But I'll trust you.

Alright, but you've got to actually answer a question one day without deflecting it. As I talked with Tamashi, I looked at Maleficent.

Kitty: You're welcome to stay here as long as you want, for the promised information. But if you disturb any training without a good reason, I have free reins to kick you out at any time.

Maleficent looked at me and then turned away from me.

Maleficent: Fine. Come find me when you're ready for the information.

As Maleficent walked away when she said this, I groaned at getting into this mess. I already feel like I'm going to be regretting this...

Leon: Are you going to be okay with her here? What if she could get out of this place and appear on the ship?

Kitty: The only way in or out is with the device, and the door is gone the moment you walk through. No getting out that easily. It's going to be a pain with her being here, but it's better than you or the others getting stressed out with her roaming freely.

Leon: True...

Kitty: It will be fine... Hopefully...

Leon: Just be careful. You never know what she can do. It feels like strength returns fast here as I don't even seem tired.

Kitty: It does, along with magic. That's going to be a blessing and curse with her here, but with needing the other right now, I can't see her trying anything to risk this.

Leon: Either playing the long game, or wants to wait for her chance to attack you when your guard is down.

Kitty: Then the guard stays up. I'm not taking any chances with her either.

Leon: Just do be careful. And how will you tell the others?

I went silent at this, having not thought about that part yet.

Leon: I don't care if you tell your friends about Chronos or not, but at least tell them when you can about Maleficent.

Kitty: When the best chance comes up, I will.

Leon sighed as he looked around.

Leon: Big place to train.

As I looked around to get a better look, I nodded in agreement.

Kitty: Didn't think it was going to be this big. Merlin really has gone all out.

Leon: Leave it to a wizard to bring a show with his work.

Kitty: That's true, but no complaints about that. This is going to be fun to explore and train in.

Leon: Yup. Better get practicing. Since we're both here... How much combat experience do you have?

Pulling his trick, I answered with my own silence. Hearing a clanging sound, I looked towards Leon and saw he had his weapon out.

Leon: You said you barely have combat experience? Show me.

Kitty: Technically I never SAID it. Just... Answered with silence...

Leon: Silence is still an answer.

Kitty: I hate you for using my own words...

Leon: Then don't say them in the first place.

Leon gave a smirk at me in using my own saying against me. I stuck my tongue out at him, but kept on track as I got out my Oathkeeper. Getting Jiminy out of my pocket, he jumped off my hand and kept some distance as he began writing in his journal of what just happened. Focusing back on Leon, he was sizing me up on how I fight. Though, it was lacking with his way of fighting as I was defeated quickly. As we trained, he was teaching me sword swings and attacks for me to practice along with adding another swing each time for me to copy once I could. Over the course of the time, I practiced with Leon on how to swing my blade, work to put in combos with it, figure out some skills to call my own, and even be on par with Leon in combating him. The first was being able to copy myself up to three times to send out a very fast attack before I finished it up with an explosion of light called Lightspeed Slash. The next was being able to focus and generate orbs of light that hovered around me. When Leon would attack, the orb would sacrifice itself to protect me like a barrier, or when I was ready, I could focus my attack into a type of laser attack with all of them on a target. I called them Rays of Light. Another was when Leon picked up the pace and got to my blind as I tensed up in trying to defend against an attack. But when I looked at Leon, his attack phased through me! In retaliation to when he attacked, I began to swing back and felt that tensing motion as when Leon attempted blocking, my Keyblade then phased through his!!! It was almost as if for moments, I could make myself intangible and not be harmed in those few moments or if I wanted the attack, phase through the block of the enemy. Since it was a simple power to call, I ended up just calling it Phasing.

Tamashi: Jeez. You two sure are going at it very strongly.

We have time for the ship to be repaired, and if Leon's willing to help then I'm not turning it down.

Tamashi: Okay, just watch out for his Fireball.

What fireba- Crap! Tensing when seeing the fireball, I meant to make a shield just to block against it. But instead of one of the smaller shields to block the attack, it was more like a barrier that repelled the attack back! This can be useful for getting time to build up attacks, I can use Reflectga for immediate counters.

Tamashi: Okay, I will admit. That was cool.

What is the world coming too, that almost sounded like a praise.

Tamashi: You want me to insult you for that???

I was joking! I appreciate the compliment, no insults needed!

Leon: Damn... Almost thought I had you there...

Kitty: Shields or barriers are becoming a speciality move.

Leon: Okay... Let's see what happens when I try attacking you like this!

Leon begins to charge in towards me, readying his blade to attack me head on. Keeping the shield up, I was hoping to get enough time to get a counter going while charging up my magic for an ice attack. It felt like my Keyblade was getting colder and longer. I charged the magic spell as Leon was soon on me and ready to attack! When Leon made contact with my shield, it repelled his attack, but the fragments of light then circled around Leon as he was then wrapped up in it!

Leon: Th-The hell!?

Kitty: That's... Not normal...! This has never happened before!!

Tamashi: What are you waiting for?! Give him a strong attack against him! He's wide open!!

Snapping back out of my stupor, I shook my head and readied my spell. With Leon like this, I felt bad if I used anything strong to hurt him. But considering what I've learned, it might be better when in a real fight.

Kitty: Ice Magic: Flash Freeze!!

When swinging my Keyblade at Leon, I began to cast my magic as ice began to climb up on Leon and soon trapped him in ice. The light inside the frozen prison Leon was trapped in soon faded after the one attack I made. Showing me that the counter is only good for one attack per time to give something good to my enemy. Even though I felt bad for Leon right now, his expression does look funny as his face got frozen in a funny way. Knowing how the new shield worked now, I used fire magic to begin getting the ice melted. As I did this, I was thinking of names for the new skill, deciding on Shield Attacker.

Tamashi: Simple, yet clean.

Tamashi: I made a reference???

Tamashi: Huh. I was trying to just give a small compliment. Not make a reference to something.

Thank you Merlin for getting the magic stronger. Ugh... That's a curse too right now with this ice... With getting the magic upgraded on the spells I already had, it felt like the ice was much stronger than how it was normally as it was taking longer to melt the ice out even with stronger fire. Maybe getting some hot water could help? Or... Having to get some help...

Maleficent: I can see you froze this one. Almost surprising it wasn't the Duck this time.

Kitty: Leon, not "this one". Fair point about Donald though. Can you just help get this ice melted?

Maleficent: Hmph. You think this ice is worth my time?

Kitty: Remember this is my space. I still decide what happens here, including who stays.

Maleficent frowned when hearing me say that to her as she walked over to get the other side of Leon and began to use her green flames in a circle around the ice.

Maleficent: There. That should help in covering all sides.

Kitty: That's... Actually impressive.

Maleficent: You think I have magic just for the fun of it? My powers were harnessed and trained when I first got them. It took time and patience to work my magic and achieve greater heights. You would do best to remember that.

Kitty: Oh please forgive the ignorance of not knowing your magic strength, considering you were hiding in a castle and sending everyone else instead before.

Maleficent: I had no time to focus on you. My only goal was to rule all worlds. Even if you had gotten to the castle, it would be only a matter of time before we actually fought. Since I do not have physical means to attack you with. My only method of attacks is by using indirect methods. The Heartless, and my magic. Physical combat is one I would most certainly lose in.

Kitty: Unsure if this is braveness or foolishness telling someone who's supposed to be against you all this.

Maleficent: As far as we stand, we both have a common enemy we wish to see gone. I would rather see them disappear first before I set my sights on all of you. But for now, I have to make due in gaining your assistance.

Kitty: Oh what a pleasure that is...

Maleficent: Believe me, I would want nothing more than to NOT have this alliance. But as we all stand, it's either we do for survival, or face oblivion.

I groaned at being forced into this position, resting on my Keyblade as I watched the ice melt.

Kitty: Still in the end, once the enemy is gone then it's back to different sides. I'd still be careful what you say to me.

Maleficent: Ha. You think I would give all my secrets away. As far as I see it, you're still a little green in terms of being a fighter. I do see growth, but should we face each other, I would rather give a fair fight in terms of us being both magic users.

I glanced at Maleficent, not even hiding the surprise of the fair fight comment.

Kitty: Huh, maybe you do have some sort of heart after all to want a fair fight.

Maleficent: Hmph. I only told you that as when we do fight each other, you would know how to defeat me. Not that I would make it easy to reach me anyway.

Kitty: If anything was easy here, I'd be dreaming. Would never expect you to be easy to get too.

Maleficent: Rule 1 of being a magic user: Keep to a distance from your enemies with the littlest danger put to yourself.

Enchanted Arrows were a good idea then, that's a good long distance attack. As I glanced at my Legatus, that would be a way to keep some distance too as long as I keep control of the Legions.

Maleficent: Now, is there anything else you wish to talk about before I make use of my time here? I would rather be making use of this space with... The training capabilities it holds to strengthen even myself.

Kitty: Just don't break or blow anything up. I'm not explaining that to Merlin.

Maleficent: You think I would train near where the building is? I'm not that big of a baboon like your monkey friend out there.

Kitty: Would try denying that, but have to admit that's the best point you've made.

Maleficent: Considering how he has made a fool and gotten himself into trouble on multiple occasions, it would be wrong to not point them out.

Kitty: Got no time to focus on us, yet seem to know a lot. I'd say Maleficent, it would seem someone lied earlier.

Maleficent: Whatever do you mean?

Kitty: Yeahhh, not buying it. We've been feeling eyes on us this whole time. Heck, Chronos is using whatever magic ball or whatever you've used to spy on us. No one would know so much if they weren't keeping an eye out.

Maleficent: After Chronos had taken control of MY castle, he had taken possession of my projection magic imbued into the ground to keep an eye on all of you. That's how the first two disks you all got were placed strategically to slow you all down.

Kitty: Be more annoyed if that wasn't smart to use projection- Wait, there's projection magic?

Maleficent: Yes. Not only can I be able to see what you all are doing, but I could make an image to control and speak through without having to leave from places should I wish to. Say I was still in Hollow Bastion, I could send a projection to Traverse Town and talk to you as if being there. Though no harm would come to me as it is just as what it is, a projection of my image. Downside, since it is just a projection, I can't cause harm either.

Kitty: Bright side to us with no harm. Explains so much with how we kept being spied on now though.

Maleficent: With having a base, making sure you know where your enemies are is just important to keep them distracted along with keeping to your own plans. Had I focused on you entirely, I would be getting nowhere with everything. Of course, Chronos had to show up and rip everything I was working on for 10 years.

Kitty: I guess there is a bright side to everything, stopping world domination. Eh... Actually not really a bright side, that would be easier to stop...

Maleficent turned her back to me as she gripped her staff tightly.

Maleficent: Just because I was usurped from my status in what I was doing, doesn't mean the danger stopped. Chronos would want nothing more than to not only destroy all of you, but still destroy everything. And he'll use anyone to do that. Even kill them if it led to it.

Kitty: Even you and all your villain group?

Maleficent: You already know how Ursula was forced to either go on the offensive or die in disobeying Chronos. Even if I didn't approve of them leaving their posts unguarded while you are all there, keeping those that could fight or dare say help fight you all would have been wasted. But Chronos sees all of them as pawns. Pawns that could be disposed of and left to die. With the power he has and means of intelligence, he is not someone you can simply fight and get out of a battle unscathed... If you fight him, do not give him any means of recovering.

Kitty: I could only promise to try not giving him recovery time. But... Thanks, for the help and advice.

Maleficent soon began to walk away as I heard her flames go out as Leon was almost thawed out.

Maleficent: If you wish to defeat Chronos, you'll need to keep getting stronger and outplay his battle of wits. If you can't attack head-on, find another means of battling him and shift the scales in your favor. Never fight on someone else's rules except your own.

With Maleficent walking away with those parting words, the rest of the ice was melting faster now as I gripped onto my Keyblade to stop my shaking hands. Play by my own rules... Easier said than done when you don't know what rules are already in play... Snapping out of thoughts when the ice melted, I looked at Leon and smiled sheepishly.

Kitty: Umm... Didn't realize just how powerful the magic got from Merlin's teachings...

Leon groaned as he cracked his neck from having to be in that position for so long.

Leon: Ugh... It's fine. It's good practice for when you need to fight for real.

Kitty: So glad strength does get recovered here... That was some practice...

Leon: Yes it was. Damn... Never expected to get frozen like that.

Kitty: Magic user here, ice is a basic spell I could use easily in that time.

Leon: Still, it's a good maneuver to even set up for a finisher if you're able to keep your enemy frozen like that for long.

Kitty: That's actually a really good idea.

Leon: Always go for a chance to end a fight or deal the most damage if you can. But never make your attacks predictable. It'll work if no one knows its effects, but once they do, you'll need to be extra careful in using it or your opponents will find a work around them.

Kitty: Be unpredictable and keep the opponent guessing, got it.

Leon: If you can, try to plan three or two steps ahead of your enemy. Lay traps, keep them focused on you, don't let them in what you're doing.

Kitty: That's... Going to be tricky, but I'll do my best.

Leon sighed as he decided to sit on the ground.

Leon: How long have we been here? Feels like we were in here for a while...

I sweatdropped as I never even thought about the time, looking around to see if there was a way to tell.

Kitty: Good question... Going to feel weird going back out and time just moving normally again.

Finding what looked like a timer to show how long time has passed here, my eyes widened when seeing it.

Kitty: Yeah... It's been a while... 8 HOURS!!

Leon: 8??? Damn... Doesn't even feel like it with how much we trained...

Kitty: You can say that again.

Leon: Haaaa... Should we head out? I think we should if the others are gonna be looking for you.

I nodded as I got the device, pressing the button to get the door. Getting Jiminy back onto my shoulder, before leaving, I quickly made some adjustments to the time speed as a day in the dimension is a day out here too. That way, time doesn't accelerate too fast on Maleficent.

Location: Traverse Town, First District

Kitty: I'll come visit you again at a later point!

Maleficent: Don't say it as if we're neighbors!

Kitty: Oh right, you're the unwanted house guest.

Maleficent: Beg your pardon!?

Kitty: Can't hear you, door's closing!

As Leon and I left, the door disappeared. Glancing at a clock nearby, it seemed like only 30 minutes had passed here.

Kitty: 30 minutes passed out here only? This really is going to take time to get used too.

Leon: Hey. At least from what I saw in there, you can actually sleep and eat in there. So there is no worries about needing to come back out anytime soon.

Kitty: That's true. Thank you for all the help with training.

Leon: Same.

Kitty: I really should get back to the others. I'll see you later, Leon. And don't keep working without getting enough rest!

Leon: I won't. Just be careful and keep your training up. Maybe revisit a world and work on some reflexes.

Kitty: Work on reflexes, noted.

Leon began to walk away waving his hand as he began trying to head off somewhere to get some rest. As I was turning around, I soon saw a monkey in front of my face!!!

Kitty: GAH! Beat! Weren't you with the others waiting for the ship to be repaired?!

Beat: Yeah. But I was then told to come find you when the ship was done being repaired! I have been looking for you for 15 minutes!

Kitty: I was talking with Leon about some matters.

Beat: Well where did you both go??? I tried to sense where you two were, but it was as if both of you vanished!

Seeing the chance to mess with Beat, I smirked as I used my invisibility.

Kitty: Like this~? Now you see me, now you don't~

Beat: Huh!? Where did you go?! Huh?! Huh?! HUUUUUUH?!

I laughed as I deactivated it, holding onto my stomach from laughing so much.

Kitty: I was still in front of you! I've been able to use invisibility with my light, and it worked a little with Leon too as long as I held onto his arm. We didn't know if you'd come back wanting a fight, so we just hid.

Beat: Ugh...! No fair! How am I supposed to sense you if you two do that to me!?

Kitty: That's the whole point.

Beat: Boo! I boo you!!!

As I tried to keep my laughter under control, I managed to get it down to just a few giggles.

Kitty: I'm sorry Beat, I didn't mean to make you look for so long. But with the ship being repaired, we can get going off on the adventure again.

Beat: Nice! I'm gonna go hide on the ship and wait for Riku! I've been wanting to fight him!

Before I could even try warning Beat about what Sora told me, he was already gone in the blink of an eye. Well if you can't stop them, might as well enjoy the show. Before I did though, Jiminy spoke up about Maleficent.

Jiminy: When are you going to tell the group about Maleficent?

Kitty: Honestly... I have no idea. Everyone's freaked out enough, there's no need to add on more if I can help it. When things are calmer, then I will.

Jiminy: Maybe the best time would be after the fight?

Kitty: That's an idea, I'll be sure to think about it.

With a nod from Jiminy who went back to journal writing, I started back to the ship. Running over to where the ship was to avoid missing the show, I slowed down when seeing the ship. The group was talking outside, which left me wondering how Beat got on without anyone noticing, but decided it was best not to question that. As I got closer, I saw a red faced Donald and an angry Cid.

Cid: For the last damn time!! The AI is staying and that's that!

Donald: That AI has been nothing but a pain!

Cid: Hey! You take that back, Duck!

Donald: I will not! That AI has done nothing but cause me trouble on MY SHIP!!

I could see Cid with tick marks popping on his head as I felt Donald had just insulted him.

Cid: "Trouble" you say...?

Cid began to roll up his right sleeve while Donald talked.

Donald: OF COURSE!!! He has done nothing but-!! WAK!!!

Before Donald could finish his sentence, Cid gave a powerful uppercut that knocked Donald up a few feet before falling back down onto the ground. Ouch... That would have hurt...

Cid: NEVER complain about my inventions! Ya got that!?

A groan from Donald is all Cid got in response.

Cid: Good. Get the duck out of my sight!

Donald didn't dare say anything else as Goofy helped him onto the ship, the group sighing from how Donald kept causing trouble for himself. With Donald out of his sight, Cid seemed to be calmer as I headed over.

Kitty: What did Donald do this time?

Riku: Donald wanted to get Wayfinder removed from the ship.

Kitty: Of course he does. Clearly did not go in his favor.

Sora: He just wanted to get rid of him so he can have his ship back.

Kitty: How does everyone else feel about the AI? Wanting to keep him or get rid of him?

Riku: It's better if we need to get to places quickly. I know an actual person would have better reflexes to steer the ship, but with a processing speed? Wayfinder would be able to analyze situations better.

Sora: It feels better having him, it's good to know we have a backup in emergencies if we need someone to defend or steer. As proven with the robots.

Goofy, coming out of the ship after getting Donald in, gave his own input.

Goofy: Not to mention keeping us safe together from crashes. Hyuck.

Kitty: Majority rules, Donald's just going to have to deal with Wayfinder.

Wayfinder (AI): Activating: Restraining Mode.

Wondering what was going on, we entered the ship to see what Wayfinder was doing. And the sight before us, made it hard to not laugh. Donald absolutely fuming, with multiple seat belts wrapped around him again to keep him getting off the chair.

Wayfinder (AI): Duck safely in seat. Shall I commence pacifier mode?

Sora: Pacifier mode?

To answer Sora's question, a baby pacifier came out of a compartment and stuck itself inside Donald's mouth with a head dress a baby wears is nicely tied on Donald's head. This was too much, no one able to hold back their laughter seeing Donald being treated like a baby like this.

Kitty: Oh, that's what was meant by pacifier. Nice job, Wayfinder.

Riku: What did you think it was?

Kitty: Anything but that. I've always known it as a dummy or soother.

Sora: "Dummy"??? Does that mean Donald is a dummy??

Kitty: Does that question really need an answer?

Riku: It really shouldn't considering how much he screwed up during Monstro.

Sora: That is forever going to haunt us. I say we never let Donald take charge like that again, no matter the world.

Riku: Then we need someone to either lead other than the Duck.

As Donald spat out the dummy, sorry, pacifier, he seemed annoyed at not being trusted to be in charge. I rolled my eyes at him, heading onto the ship more to get a drink as I listened in.

Location: Gummi Ship

Donald: Well if you don't trust me, then who do you trust?!

Riku began to think and looked at Sora.

Riku: Who do you think, Sora?

Sora: Who do I think? As long as it's someone who won't make reckless decisions that put us all in danger.

Riku began to think and he then looked towards me.

Riku: Kitty? How about you??

Said drink was almost spat out when Riku asked this, but managed to stop it and avoid a coughing fit at the same time. Before anyone could answer though, Donald being his usual self was the one to speak first.

Donald: Are you serious?! You're suggesting HER of all people!?

Bite your tongue, do not say anything or let him get under your skin. That's becoming a really big habit of doing recently...

Kitty: Problem, Donald? If you have a problem with me, then say it.

Okay, that did not work that time... Felt good saying it though.

Donald: How come she is getting chosen!? She doesn't even fight often!

Riku: Hey, last time I remembered, we were all trapped in that facility, except for Kitty before she gave us that escape. Yeah, she became trapped next, but she still thought of us. More than you ever think.

As Donald was about to say something, I spoke up as I looked at Riku with a smile.

Kitty: Thank you Riku, but let me handle the duck for this.

Saying this, I calmly walked over and spun Donald's chair around to face me.

Kitty: You do NOT know what happened after the fall and when you got locked up in ARI, so don't speak as if you do. Assumptions will get you nowhere.

Donald: Oh yeah??? What happened then???

Kitty: You mean after waking up 5 days later from the fall? Barely even able to move?! I was lucky to have had some magic I could use to heal, or I couldn't say if any of us would have gotten out! I was not sitting around doing nothing, that was the last thing I was doing. I had to work with Neuron and fight with them to get their help, even having to reveal the truth about us to get their help to rescue you all. Before we could make any plans though? We were attacked by Ravens, and had to separate to deal with them. Falling right into the plans Chronos made for that to happen!!

Riku: Chronos!?

I nodded at Riku, barely managing to stop my hands shaking.

Kitty: Yoseph and Chronos were working together for my capture. Yoseph believed me and Ryder were killed from the fall until Chronos pointed it out. Chronos got some projects from Yoseph for my capture to get the Noah info. And it almost worked at first if I didn't use SP to get Chronos away from me. It ended in a confrontation, and that's why I said deals were made. I can't go into details right now, but I had to make a deal with him to save my own life after he almost killed me. Still got knocked out and brought to Yoseph, but it helped give the advantage to find you all and get you out of there.

Goofy: Wasn't that dangerous???

Kitty: Surprisingly hard to be scared at the time after almost being killed twice one after another. Dangerous yes, but it was worth it to keep you all safe.

Looking back at Donald, I let go of the chair and walked away from him after one last remark.

Kitty: You're right I might not fight often. But I'd do all I could, even if it means my death, to keep everyone here safe.

I looked at Riku as he seemed to be in deep thought about this ordeal as he was trying to think about the deal I made with Chronos. I know the deal I made was bigger than I was letting on, but this was my fight with Chronos and I had to abide by that. Jiminy looked worried about if the deal would be revealed too early, but I gave a slight shake of my head only he would see that I wouldn't reveal anything unless needed.

Riku: Any more evidence to refute why Kitty shouldn't be leader, Donald?

Donald: I still say it's a stupid decision...

Riku: Not asking you if it's a stupid decision. Yes or no.

Donald groaned, but said nothing else in response.

Riku: So, I'll take that as a no. Meaning, Donald can't argue with wanting Kitty to be leader.

Donald: Don't just decide something like that yourself!

Riku: Yet, you can't think of a good reason to refute why Kitty shouldn't be team leader. If you have nothing to say, then you give up.

Resisting the urge to roll my eyes at Donald again, I looked at everyone else.

Kitty: I know how Donald and Riku feel about it, but what about everyone else?

Beat: You'd be great!!

Riku: Ah!!

In response to Beat appearing out of nowhere like that behind Riku, Riku delivered a punch to Beat's face that caved in like how Hercules did it in his movie to Hades. It was hard to resist laughing at this, laughing from what happened to Beat.

Kitty: If you hadn't rushed off like that Beat, I would have warned you about that.

Beat (Caved in face): Now you tell me...

Kitty: You rushed off before I could.

Taking a breath, Beat puffed his face to get his face to pop back out to normal.

Beat: Was not expecting that.

Kitty: I was, Sora told me about that when we were in the book. Again, you rushed off there too before you heard it.

Beat: Then why didn't Sora tell me after I got back!?

Sora: You would have ran off again after you got directions!

Beat was trying to think of something to say, but couldn't.

Beat: I hate you guys...

Kitty and Sora: We love you too.

Beat began to yell and scratch his body when hearing both of us say that at the same time.

Beat: THAT MAKES MY SKIN CRAWLLLLLLL!!! STOP THAT!!!

Sora and I looked at each other, smirking before looking back at Beat.

Sora and Kitty: Stop what?

Beat yelled more and began to roll on the ground to try and calm himself down.

Beat: AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!!

As Sora and I laughed, giving a high-five from annoying Beat together like this, Beat soon got back up and acted as if nothing happened.

Beat: So, when are we going?

As if to answer Beat's question, Wayfinder soon answered him.

Wayfinder (AI): We can begin flying immediately. Say where your destination you want to go and I will take you all there.

Looking around fast, Beat was trying to search for the voice.

Beat: Oh no... The voices are back... I thought I was cleared of those...

Wayfinder (AI): I beg your pardon...?

Kitty: Sorry about him Way, he's a bit of a doofus at times. Beat, this is our new AI, Wayfinder.

Wayfinder (AI): Nice to meet you, Monkey.

Beat: Thanks! It's nice to meet-

As if glass broke in Beat's mind he began to run around in circles of us.

Stopping when Riku said this, Beat looked at his monkey tail.

Riku sighed and looked towards the group.

Riku: Hey. We're losing time here. Who is gonna be the team leader?

Beat: Oh right, forgot that was never decided.

Riku and Sora: NO ONE ASKED YOU!!!

Riku: Last time you led, you kept getting us lost within that maze! I don't want to hear about it!

Before Donald was able to say another word, a seatbelt was soon wrapped around his bill to make it hard to speak.

With the command set, Donald became free of the seat belt around his bill.

Donald: Finally, some freedom!

Sora: Can't we just keep him muzzled for now? Just a little longer?

Wayfinder (AI): Muzzle Command is on cooldown. Please wait one hour.

Sora: Oh man... Now we're going to have to hear his complaints...

Donald: Yeah. Just as much I have to listen to yours.

Sora and Donald practically had sparks flying between them with how much they were glaring at each other, causing me to sigh and step between them.

Kitty: You two fighting and Beat's shenanigans still made it so we have no leader decided yet. Can we get that sorted at least?

Riku: Kitty.

Goofy: Kitty.

Sora: Kitty.

Beat: Kitty.

Jiminy: Kitty.

Donald: Donald!

Wayfinder (AI): Kitty. It's a majority vote. Deal with it.

To add insult to injury, Wayfinder began to produce an image that crashed into Donald's face and it was a troll face with Deal With It sunglasses.

Wayfinder (AI): No more refuting for you.

Donald still wanted to try saying something, but looks from some of the group saying "try it" was enough to keep him quiet for now.

Riku: So, everyone is in agreement about Kitty being leader?

Except for the angry bird, there were nods of agreement from everyone and a beep from Wayfinder to confirm what Riku said.

Wayfinder (AI): Updating leadership. Kitty is now in possession of master controls and commands.

Donald: WHAT?! THIS IS MY SHIP!!

Spitting out another image of what was thrown at Donald earlier, the image says it all. With laughter from the group from Donald's angry expression and the picture, it was all official that I was the leader.

Kitty: Well, thanks for trusting me on this. I'll do my best for everyone.

Riku: So, where to now, designated leader?

Kitty: I know Sora and Beat would want to go, but anyone else up for the coliseum? After the last world, some more training could be good to prepare for the other worlds.

Riku: After what happened, I know I could use some.

Goofy: And maybe I can focus on stamina training to take more damage!

There was no answer from Donald, which I expected from how he was still mad. I may have taken charge of the last world, but that was only because of knowledge. Despite having my secrets, everyone still trusts me to be a leader... I can't let them down. If they have trust in me, I'll make sure to step up and fight for them. With this thought, I made my first command as official leader.
