chapter 3
omg, i never thought that this book would garner this much favorites and views aaaa-
While it is common knowledge for those around you that your quirk is associated with flames in the color of blue, let's just say that it is more complicated than that. While it is correct that you often set yourself in action with this color more often than the others, you mostly just do it due to the fact that this is your favorite colour. Which just makes the reason sound lamer than you thought it was but whatever, let's just get on with this.
While it is your favorite hue, it is also one of the strongest ones you have that costs you less energy. For additional information, violet and white are the hottest though these two consume so much energy that you'd feel drained with continuous use, and red is the weakest but rarely does it ever weaken you.
Your drawback isn't really that much, you just lose your control with your quirk and just feel drowsy overall. So that's exactly why you're standing here with the others, completely out of it that you didn't notice your Kasugai crow flying above your head, scared to touch you for it was truly afraid that it'd end up being roasted since red flames encased your entire being.
'Maybe if I had just died out there, perhaps it'd be like those isekai movies where I return to my own world,' and countless other useless thoughts swirled around your mind. What made you snap out of your stupor, though, was the ruckus that was happening before you. The noise of it all annoyed you so much that the fire around you dance around wildly, making the blondhead beside you quiver in fear, afraid that he'd be burn to crisps once all of this was over.
"Why the hell is it so noisy?!" You grunted before shooting fireballs at the perpetrators, though once you noticed what you've done, you immediately opened your mouth to warn Tanjiro, not even caring for the one he's arguing with. "Tanjiro, dodge!", and dodge he did. Luckily, no one was hurt and you sighed out in relief, knowing that you'd feel so guilty if one where to be truly injured by your outbursts.
Silence filled the air, most still trying to get over with what just transpired. You were just glad that one the twins broke the awkward silence most prolly caused by you. "Are you all done with your chatters? Well then, please choose an ore. This will be the main component of your swords that you will use in your jobs as demon hunters."
All of them went to the table, except for you, causing Tanjiro to whip his head around only to meet your gaze before walking towards you. "Y/n, aren't you going to choose?" He tilted his head as he asked you, wondering why you weren't there with the others, picking an ore. You just shook your head at him. "Nah, I don't know how to use any swords. Plus, I can fight without one so shoo," you made shooing motions with your hands, and off he go, but not before sparing you a glance once again, which urged you to continue your motion.
As the two of you walked up the mountains, you noticed the fleeting gazes he sets upon you. Wondering why, you opened your mouth to ask him if there was something bothering him that concerned you. "Tanjiro? Is there something wrong?" You asked him, and he shook his head, the light pink on his cheeks noticeable.
Your appearance was what he could describe as.. exotic? Unique? Sure, he never did have that much interaction with other women, but he just knew that you were different than the rest. Heck, even your clothing choices were those of he's never seen. Plus, from the perspective of an outsider, one could truly tell that you looked absolutely attractive. You contained the features of a lass that would be deemed as the prettiest face in an entire village, well, that's if, you actually resided in one.
"I was just um, wondering if you can still move? I've noticed that your eyes were drooping so I immediately made that conclusion," he said as he rubbed the back of his neck, sheepish of his words since that insinuated the fact that he was, in fact, checking you out and was embarrassed because of it.
"Don't worry, I'm fine even if I'm like this," you tried to provide some comfort to him using your words as you pointed at the fire that was still enveloping you, though fortunately, it already dimmed down greatly. You knew that he still has more questions for you, but you didn't want to poke him out for it or else it'd bring him discomfort so you decided to just keep your mouth shut.
Once you two reached the place where his master is located at, you watched the two having a reuinion as you stood at the side, watching in the sidelines awkwardly. As the two talked it out, you noticed the one wearing the mask pointing at you. Taking it as your cue to finally butt into the conversation, you introduced yourself. "Hello, I'm L/n Y/n and.. it's nice to meet you?" You bowed as the words left your mouth with such uncertainty.
"Tanjiro told me the tid bits of what happened during the Final Selection and how it seemed that you appeared out of thin air. Let's head inside so we can discuss regarding this matter more thoroughly," and you gulped, feeling nervous all of the sudden. Tanjiro noticing this, he thought that the best course of action in this kind of situation would be to pat your back, hoping that it'd comfort you.
"Don't worry, Urokodaki-sensei may intimidate you, but he's nicer than you think," Tanjiro smiled at you, and you could only return it, hoping that what he's said was true.
Well, it looked like it was time for storytelling.
