Two Hours Later

Ruki's P.O.V

The house was silent without her. I closed my eyes. I think I liked it better this way. To not hear her, nor see her, it was better. If she was not around then I don't have to worry about the thoughts I had of her. 

The sound of rain hitting the pavement became noticeable causing me to sigh. She must be angry, possibly sad, betrayed, or something. She had seemed to somehow be abandoned multiple times in life and in order to be happy she made others happy. She never paid attention to herself, did she? 

Lucy's P.O.V

How selfish could I have been? I kept talking to him about the promise and angered him. I talked back to him, I even called him by his first name and yet- "Out of all the things you took, you forgot your umbrella." That voice, it couldn't have been-  "Lucy, look at me." I turned my head and looked at him.  He was getting wet in the rain. Why didn't he use my umbrella or at least bring his? I shook my head. He always forgot that it was in the closet close to his room.

"The train home doesn't come until Wednesday morning." How could he look at me like that? "Lucy, come" I was not a maid anymore so why was he giving me orders? 

"No" He arched a brow. 

"No?"

"I am not a servant to you anymore remember?" He walked up to me. I decided to stand my ground instead of running. "I do not have to do anything for you, especially when you do not care about it."

"So your promise-"

"As much as I wanted to keep it, you didn't let me. So what is the use?" 

"And if I do?" 

"Then it is too late, isn't it?" I turned in the direction of the train station and grabbed my bag. "Goodbye Mukami-sama." He grabbed my right hand and made me face him. The look from earlier returned on his face, anger. 

"You want to leave now, even after what you admitted?" What did he mean by that? "For someone like you to try so hard and give up soon after, it angers me." His face was showing emotion. "I hate you." His left hand cupped my cheek. "I hate you so much that I can't forget you. That look you give me, it is like you want me to notice that call for help. "

"C...cal...call for help?"

"I guess you do not understand me at all do you?" I shook my head. "Fine, then I guess I have no choice but to show you." He was moving his face closer, did this mean that he wanted to...kiss me? 

"Lucy-chan, Ruki!" We looked in the direction of the voice to see Kou. My cheeks reddened before I smiled. 

"Kou-kun!" He ran toward us. 

"Lucy your all wet." He hovered his umbrella over me. 

"Thanks, Kou-kun." He smiled at me. 

"No problem Lucy-chan, say-"

"You want us to come to dinner right?" He nodded.

"Yeah, then after we wanted you guys to come to school with us....but Lucy-chan is not dressed and has her suitcase. Is her job over?" That reassuring look he had, it soothed me.

 I shook my head. I had to go.

"No"  Ruki handed him the house keys and took my bag from my hand before giving it to Kou as well. 

"Here, we will meet you there soon."

"Oi" I tried to grab my bag but Kou only chuckled and nodded. 

"Okay, see you later, Lucy-chan." I blinked only to see that he had been gone. For someone to disappear so fast like that, he must have been a vampire as well. Maybe but I might have been wrong. I noticed the cold grip on my hand and tried to pull it away but Ruki didn't let me.

"I order you not to leave."

"I am not your servant anymore, remember?" 

"You are"

"How about we make a bet?"

"A bet?"

"If you do not feel anything after today, I will let you go." I glared at him. 

"I told you I am not-" That look he had, it made my heartache. 

He moved his face an inch from mine causing my face to heat up. "You really are lost, are you?" He wasn't doing this again was he? I was lost....finding myself...I didn't know who I was! I am tired of it!

"I am not."

"Are you sure?"

"For me to be lost, is not true."

"The way you look now, doesn't seem to make it any better you know?"

"So what-" I yanked my arm from him and walked away from him. As soon as I heard a thump I turned around to see Ruki on the ground. 

"Ruki" I walked up to him and began to shake him but didn't get a response.
