Part 41 

Within four moves, Arnav finished the game. Khushi's shock was not estimated. Ratna came with his coffee and got stuck. She didn't expect the game would be finished soon. The result of the game was written on Khushi's disappointed face. Undoubtedly, Arnav must be the winner. This is the first time Arnav is doing this.

Taking the coffee cup from Ratna's hand, Arnav sipped it taking time. When he drank the coffee, he avoided looking at his mother and wife. But he knew their eyes were only on him. Keeping the empty cup on the tea table, he headed toward his room. Khushi was standing completely upset. She thought to mend things by winning the game. But Arnav turned the table unexpectedly. She knew Arnav is a champion but she never thought Arnav would win the game so easily. She gulped her tears.

Ratna touched her shoulder. Making herself up, Khushi smiled at her.

Ratna: Anything can be solved by conversing. Go... solve it.

Khushi looked at her stunned.

Ratna: Don't be upset...

Khushi: Arnavji is upset, Amma.

Ratna: What happened? Anything may I know?

Khushi: Rohit is not a good guy, Amma.

Ratna said nothing but letting her to complete.

Khushi: I never expect he could stoop so low.

Ratna: What he did?

Khushi: He spiked my drink in the party.

Ratna(panicking): Hey Devi Maiya... then?

Khushi: Arnavji reached the party at the right time and saved me.

Ratna(huffing): Thank God... but is not Rohit your friend? Why did he do that?

Khushi: He is my childhood friend but I don't know he has feeling for me. When I said yes to marry Arnavji, he fought with me. That's when I got to know about his feelings. After that I stopped talking to him but he apologized. I didn't want to continue his friendship but Arnavji asked me not to do that.

Ratna: Chotte knew about him?

Khushi: Everything.

Ratna: Then feel free.

Khushi: No Amma, I didn't even know what happened after I had the drink. Don't know what Arnavji's state of mind. I'm scared Amma.

Ratna: You don't have to be scared if Chotte already knows about Rohit because we witnessed how you showed him his place. Your mistake is nothing in that.

Khushi: Maybe... But.

Ratna: you would not have told me about Rohit, if you are wrong. I'm sure Chotte understands you.

Khushi nodded yes and raced to their room. Arnav was sitting on the recliner, joining his fingers, looking down. It seems, he was waiting for her. She kneeled, in front of him, clutching his joining fingers.

Khushi: Are you upset with me to this extent Arnavji?

She asked sadly.

Arnav: I'm not upset.

Khushi: Then why didn't you let me win?

Arnav: What do you mean, "LET ME WIN?". Why should I let you win?

Khushi: That's what you always do...

Arnav: Who said?

Khushi: Amma... I got to know that you won't let your beloved one lose.

Arnav: Sometimes I do.

Khushi: Why not today?

Arnav: I didn't let you win this time because I don't want you to ask something which I don't want.

Khushi: But I want to sort out everything between us Arnavji.

Arnav: We will... but not in this way. I agree my desire for you is limitless but what you are thinking is not a SCALE for it. I know what you would have asked me to do. You were supposed to ask me to make love right?

Khushi looked at him without denying.

Arnav: you are my wife and I could make love whenever I want but not in this condition and definitely I don't want you to PROVE yourself in this way because I trust you.

Khushi laid on his thigh, spilling tears.

Khushi: I'm sorry Arnavji...

Arnav(stopping her immediately): No Khushi.... You were not wrong. You couldn't be responsible for Rohit's action. I know you never entertained him. So don't feel low.

Khushi: I never knew he could be with such filthy ideas, Arnavji...

He lifted her by her shoulders. Khushi was about to sit on the tea table, Arnav circled her waist and drew her on his lap. In no time, Khushi snaked his neck, burst out crying. Arnav drew her close to him not giving a gap between them.

Arnav: Stop crying.

Khushi: I don't know why the entire "close to heart person" of my life are cheating me. Lavanya... Rohit...

He patted her back.

Arnav: Relax... everything will be all right. Your attitude towards the matter is what matters. Take its positivity. You are safe. Be happy about it.

Khushi: How did you reach the hotel at the right time? you didn't assure me that you will come to pick me up?

Arnav: I told you I'm not beside you, doesn't mean I'm not with you. how could I be relaxed when you are OUT?

Khushi: Did you come earlier?

Arnav: Yup... I was waiting for you outside.

Khushi: But why didn't you call me?

Arnav: You were in the party... with your friends... enjoying... so I didn't disturb you.

Khushi: What would have happened if you had not come?

Arnav: No matter I'm there or not, I would have saved you at any cost.

Khushi buried her face in the crook of his neck. He pressed his cheek on her head to control the tickling sensation.

Arnav: Why did you want me to play chess?

Khushi: I thought you are upset with me. So...

Arnav: So you tried to mend things?

Khushi(nodding yes): But you won the game.

She said pouting.

Arnav: I think we have to finish it soon.

Khushi: Finish what?

Arnav: Let's start our married life.

Khushi stared at him getting mad at him. Just now, doesn't he say he doesn't want it? What he says now is totally upside down to it.

Arnav: I think we sorted out all the difference...

He smirked.

Khushi: but I haven't completed my studies yet.

She asked him like a good student.

Arnav: It's not a big deal. You will complete your graduation for sure.

Khushi: Are you serious?

Arnav: Couldn't I?

Khushi: Yeah... you won the game. I should do what you ask for.

Arnav: Stop non-sense. This is not about Bet. I told you, you are my wife. I don't want to go with the BET thing.

Khushi: Won't you ask me anything for BET?

Arnav: I will ask you later.

Khushi: Why not now?

Arnav: To make you do what I want, I don't need any BET.

He said with his lopsided smile.

Khushi(with attitude): What if I'm not interested?

Arnav(with his lopsided smile): Who cares?

Khushi(dropping her jaw): Haaannnn...?

Arnav: Haan. I know you can't stand if I touch you...

Khushi: So much of pride....? What do you think of yourself?

Arnav: I BET...

Khushi: Another BET?

Arnav: Yup. I can keep you in my control. What say?

Khushi: Oh really?

Arnav: Reallllyyyy!!!

Arnav: Accept the BET if you have guts. Not much... just for half an hour.

Khushi looked at the clock which is showing 10:30.

Khushi: It's 10:30... Let's see how you keep me in your control until 11:00...

Arnav( raising his eyebrows): Who knows... it may continue after 11:00 too...
