Part29 The Truth

Arnav didn't find Khushi on the bed. She must be writing her Record notebook. He looked at the recliner. She was not there too. Where is she? He came out of the room, searching for her. She was writing her Record Note sitting with Ratna at the dining. He went back to the room.

Ratna: Khushi beta, I forgot to say that your friend came, searching for you.

Khushi: My friend? Who Amma?

Ratna: Rohit...

Khushi: When?

Ratna: The next day when you went to Mumbai.

Khushi: Ohhh... what he said?

Ratna: He said he was out of the station at the time of your marriage. So he came to apologize for not attending your marriage.

Khushi knew he lied. But why did he come to RM? Usually, he comes to her college if he wants to meet her. What new habit is this? She shouldn't encourage him. It may cause misunderstanding between her and Arnav.

They saw Arnav coming, getting ready.

Ratna: Where are you going? Today is Sunday...have you forgotten?

Arnav: NO mom... I have a jam-packed schedule in AR.

Ratna: Go... go and cry hugging your AR....

Not only Arnav but also Khushi was taken aback. What made her burst out like this all of a sudden? Arnav looked at Khushi from the corner of his eyes who was swallowing hard, raising her eyebrows. Ratna went to the kitchen, blabbering all the way.

Khushi: What happened to Amma? She was so cool a few minutes ago...?

Arnav(with his lopsided smile): I think her BP level is not stable... that's why she is losing her temper often these days.

Khushi: But why only with you?

Arnav(chuckling): Because she loves me so much...

Khushi frowned at him...

Arnav: Don't think she doesn't love you...

Khushi smiled folding her lips.

Arnav: I know you... don't I?

She nodded yes.

Khushi: Actually, I will complete my Record work in an hour...

Arnav: Good...

Khushi: Shall I go to GH?

Arnav looked at her shrinking his eyes.

Khushi: Shall I?

Arnav: To recite about Lavanya?

Khushi: No no... I won't say anything until if needed.

Arnav: What that mean?

Khushi: means, I won't say...

Arnav: That will be good for all of us. Go and lie down on your mother's lap and get back soon.

Khushi: Are you kidding?

Arnav: Then what? You are still behaving like a kid.

Khushi: What do you know how it feels?

Khushi: It feels so protective...

Arnav: Ohhh...really?

Arnav asked her raising his eyebrows like "what?"

Arnav smiled at her without answering. Arnav left the dining Khushi blocked his way.

Arnav: Whaat?

Khushi: It feels like, leaving the book without reading its last page...

Arnav: Means?

Khushi: What you are up to? You said something and you yourself broke the rule.

Arnav: So?

Khushi: What I should do?

Arnav: Do what you want and know what you want.

He left the place smilingly.

Khushi(self-talk): He is right. I should do what I want instead of going with him.

Khushi left RM after a while. When Khushi enter into the GH campus, she saw a woman and a man getting down from the car. They rang the calling bell. Khushi looked at them horrified. The man was none other than Lavanya's lover Vikas. At the same time, Shashi Gupta came out. He looked at them frowning.

Woman: Namaste... We want to talk to you Guptaji.

Shashi (looking at Khushi): Khushi beta, is it you who bring them here?

Khushi nodded NO hurriedly.

Shashi: Please come inside.

Shashi made them sit on the couch.

Shashi: Tell me, what you want to talk to me?

Woman: We want to talk about Lavanya.

Shashi: Lavanya?

Before Shashi said, "she is dead",

Khushi: Lavanya got married.

Shashi jerked hearing his shout.

He blurts out. Shashi stood from the couch shockingly. Garima rushed out of the kitchen hearing Vikas's blabber. Khushi stood silent whereas her eyes spilled. Taking two long steps, Shashi reached Vikas and clutched his shirt collar.

Shashi: What did you say? What did you say about my daughter?

He asked with extreme wrath.

Woman: Leave him Guptaji. He is telling the truth. He and Lavanya are in love for three years. It's me who asked Lavanya to leave my son because I wanted my son to marry my husband's friend's daughter who helped for Vikas studies. But his daughter is not ready to marry Vikas as she is in a relationship with someone. That's why I decided to make my son married to the girl he loves. They love each other Guptaji. Please say the truth. Where is Lavanya?

Shashi and Garima were looking at her like she is a ghost.

Khushi: Lavanya is dead.

Vikas: What? What rubbish are you talking about....? You said she got married.... Now, she is dead... what else will you say?

Khushi: whatever I said is true. Lavanya got married and she is dead. Do you know why she died? It's because she couldn't accept anyone in your place. So, she killed herself.

Shashi and Garima were horrified.

Garima: What are you saying Khushi?

Khushi: Yes Amma... she didn't die in an accident. She killed herself. She agreed to marry Arnavji only for Babuji. But she killed herself in guilt as she didn't change her mind.

Shashi sat with a thud on the couch, hearing that.

Vikas shouted "Laaaavanyaaaa..... Sitting on the floor.

Vikas cried his heart out,

Woman: I'm sorry beta...

Vikas: Will your sorry bring my La back?

Vikas mother bowed down. Vikas stood from the floor and left GH insensibly whereas his mother followed him helplessly.

Khushi looked at her parents with teary eyes who were standing lifelessly.

Khushi: Babuji... Sheetal told me about La's love when I went to Mumbai....

Shashi: Don't talk about her anymore. She cheated on us. I'm ashamed of her...

Garima (crying): Hey Devi Maiya...? why are you doing this? What sin I have committed that you are punishing me like this?

Khushi: Amma, compose yourself...

Garima: How could I? She went making us sinner. How could I face Ratnaji?

Shashi hit his own head.

Garima: Are they known about LA?

Khushi: No amma. They never asked about La.

Garima looked at Khushi. She got up wiping her tears. She clutched Khushi's hand and dragged her to the nearby room. Khushi followed her perplexed. Garima closed the door making her baffled.

Khushi: What happened Amma?

Garima: Khushi.... Knowingly or unknowingly we have ruined Damadji's life by tying him with Lavanya. We know, he loves her so much. But she doesn't deserve a man like Arnav. Please promise me, you will bring him out of Lavanya's spell. He may not be interested in you Khushi. But don't leave him as per his wish. Get close to him. Make him forget Lavanya. If he gets close to you, I'm sure; he will love you more than anyone. Please don't bring your ego in between you two. After all, he is your husband. One or two times, he may get angry but he can no longer hold himself in front of your beauty. Don't take me wrong Khushi. We have no one other than you to do atonement.

She cried with joining hands. Khushi made her put her hands down.

Khushi: I will take care of him Amma. He is my husband. There is no place for EGO between us. I will make him forget La. I will be a good wife amma.

Garima hugged Khushi and cried on her shoulder.

Garima: Thank you Khushi. Thank you so much. Devi Maiya makes you happy with Arnav.

She kissed her forehead, breaking the hug.

Garima: Love your husband wholeheartedly. Where there is true love, there won't be hesitation. Your love will get you close to your husband.

Khushi: I love him Amma. I really do...

Garima: Thank you beta... Thank you so much.

Garima hugged her smilingly.
