It was the first day of Khatron Ke Khiladi shoot.. Teju got ready in her outfit and sat in the backseat of a bus.. Adaa was sitting beside her, busy talking with her family on the phone.. The nervousness was evident on Teju's face as she stared out the window.. The van was driving through scenic routes towards the stunt location.. She took a deep breath, trying to steady her nerves and picked up her phone, dialing Karan's number..

The phone rang and Karan picked up almost immediately, as if he had been waiting for her call..

Karan : Hi laddoo..

He said cheerfully..

Teju : Sunny.. I'm scared.. What if I don't perform well?

Karan : EK second.. No Hi.. No Hello...

Teju : No funny talks, Sunny.. I'm serious..

Karan sat up from his bed.. His smile faded as he sensed her anxiety..

Karan : Ok.. Ok.. Main sunraha hun.. Batao, kya problem hai?

Teju : It's .. Kuch kadbad hogaya toh? Ghar mein sab, mujse bohot expect karte hain.. Agar maine sahi se nahi kiya toh?

Karan : shush.. shush.. Calm down Laddoo.. It's ok to be scared.. Dekh, ye sirf ek experiment hai.. The moment you decided to do this show, you won your fears.. So, ye stunts sabkuch tere liye aasaan hai.. Thik hai.. Remember laddoo, you're one of the strongest people I know.. Tu achese karegi..

As they ended the call, Teju smiled at his care.. She placed her mobile on her bag and turned towards Adaa.. Adaa was already looking at her, amusingly.. She raised her eyebrows and looked at Teja, teasingly..

Adaa : Your boyfriend?

Teju shook her head, not wanting to disclose the truth..

Teja : Family..

Adaa : oh ok.. I thought you have a boyfriend.. Jis tarah se tu muskura rahi thi, muje laga tera boyfriend ne call kiya hoga..

Teja : nahi.. Nahi.. Aisa kuch nahi..

Adaa : Toh you are single..

Teju crossed her fingers and hid them behind her bag, feeling a pang of guilt..

The sun was at its peak, casting a golden hue over the rugged terrain.. Teja and other participants stood at their respective places.. Their faces showed how excited and nervous they were.. The air was tensed with the energy of the first day.. Everyone was eagerly discussing the challenges awaited them..

Suddenly, the cameraman started rolling, and all eyes turned to the horizon, where the director signaled the arrival of the host.. The camera zoomed in, focusing on a race car speeding towards them.. The driver was none other than Rohit Shetty.. Teju couldn't control her excitement.. She shouted loudly..

Teju : wohoo.. Vahaan dekho.. Kya mass entry hai..

Rohit Shetty, dressed in a full racer outfit, his hands were firm on the steering wheel.. The car sped along the man- made curves.. Each turn was executed flawlessly.. As the car approached a massive flying ramp, Teju's heart skipped a beat.. She was scared for him as the car soared into the air for a few milliseconds.. She held her breath and clutched Arjun's hand tightly.. Her eyes showed fear as well as admiration.. Arjun smiled at her care towards Rohit Shetty and patted her head, reassuring her..

The car hung in the air and landed safely and gracefully on the ground.. Teju exhaled in relief, her grip on Arjun's hand loosened.. Rohit Shetty emerged from the car with his trademark style.. He stood at his designated spot..

He raised his hands, acknowledging the contestants' applause, and then began his introduction, mentioning the show's sponsors and tagline of the season... He moved from one Khilaadi to another, asking about their fears and why they chose to participate in the show.. He joked with them and finally came to Teju..

Rohit Shetty : Tejasswi Prakash.. South Indian Television ka superstar.. Yahaan back to back 2 hit seasons diya hai Webseries mein.. Trending music videos karke audience ke dil mein apna jaga strongly banate aarahe hai.. Iss show mein kyun aaye ho?

Teju : Sir.. Joh bhi maine shows kiya hai, voh sab mein koi risks nahi the.. haan, saare characters hai voh sab muje challenge toh kiya hai, par voh sab mere comfort level ke andar the.. Muje mere comfort level se hatke kuch karna hai.. Aur muje apne aap ko challenge karna hai.. Uske liye isse acha koi aur mukaam nahi hoga.. isliye ye show choose kiya..

Rohit Shetty : Interesting.. Toh aapko sabse syada kis cheez se dar lagta hai?..

She paused for a moment, her expression turned serious..

Teju : Muje apne aapse dar lagta hai..

Her statement brought silence to the air, capturing everyone's attention.. Rohit sensed her getting serious and drilling her further would be emotional for her..

The Contestants chuckled hearing this.. Teju too joined them, appreciating his attempt to lighten the mood.. She took a deep breath and looked at Arjun, who assured her, nodding his head slightly and she looked straight at Rohit Shetty..

Teju : haan sir.. Aisa hi kuch hai sir.. ye aisi bhoot hai jo insaan ko aage badne se rokta hai.. kabhi kabhi hum apne decisions aur actions se khud ko hi hurt karte hain... Mere liye ye show ek tareeka hai apne dar ka saamna karne ka aur apne aap ko prove karne ka..

Rohit : Bahut badiya, Tejasswi... Ye himat dikhane ki baat hai.. Sabhi ko yahan apne darr se ladna hai, aur ye show usi safar ka hissa hai..

Rohit: (turning to the camera) Ye hai humare khilaadis..Dekhte hain ki ye apne dar ko kaise haratein hain.. Ye season hone wala hai pura adventure aur thrill se bhara.. Toh chalein shuru karte hain aap logonka pehla stunt..

The director signalled cut.. All the contestants relaxed.. The Director walked over to Rohit Shetty..

Rohit Shetty : Yes Sir..

Director : Rohit, maine aapko Tejasswi ka backstory nikalwane ko bola tha.. Aapne topic change kardiya?

Teju's eyes were on Rohit Shetty and Director's conversation.. Although she couldn't hear their words due to the distance, her curiosity was piqued.. Arjun noticed Teju lost in thought and nudged her gently..

Arjun : Kuch bhi sochti hai.. Chup chap kade rahe..

Meanwhile, Rohit Shetty glanced towards the set, putting on a forced smile and he spoke to the Director..

Rohit Shetty : Sir.. Why to get all the content at the same time? Hum wait karte hain.. jab content nahi mila, tab ye shoot karenge.. Also, we have to respect their personal boundaries.. We'll get there, but we have to do it with care..

The KKK team announced that there would be an elimination in the first week itself... All the contestants were scared... A few contestants had already completed their first stunts, which were iconic... Teju, Arjun, and Karishma were the last three contestants, who were yet to perform their first stunts...

The contestants were taken to a dark room where only candle lights were glowing, creating a dim ambiance... Cameras were fixed, and they were asked to enter the room along with Rohit Shetty.. Teju held Arjun's hand, as she somehow guessed what the stunt could be...

Rohit Shetty : Welcome to Khatron Ke Khiladi, Season 10, jahaan dar lega class, dega trass.. Sabi khiladi apne first stunts kar chuke hain sivaaye teen logon ke.. Hamari team ne socha tha ki sabhi khiladiyon ka pehla stunt humare show ka iconic stunt hona chahiye... Usi prakar ka stunt hum dekhte aarahe hain... Ab bache hain teen log, yani ki Arjun, Karishma, aur Tejasswi, jinka pehla stunt bhi iconic hone wala hai..

Everyone was expecting some easy stunts for them..

Rohit Shetty: Ye hamare pehle episode ka aakhri stunt hai... Ye stunt aasan nahi hoga... Dar woh aag hai, jisne acche acche ko wax ke tarah pighla diya.. Maine aur meri team ne aap teenon ke liye aisa stunt taiyaar kiya hai jo Khatron Ke Khiladi ke itihaas mein kabhi nahi hua...

Karishma started shivering as she was getting scared..

Rohit Shetty : Aap sablog previous season ka stunts dekhe aaye honge.. Aap prepared rahe honge.. Par aisa stunt naa hi kisine dekha hoga, naa hi kisine experience kiya hoga.. Ek demo dun ki kya hone wala hai?..

He called for an experienced stunt boy and asked him to demonstrate the stunt.. The boy stepped forward and laid down on the board as the other team members locked the chains around his body.. The stunt boy was given a stick to hold... After the director said go, hot wax started melting and began to pour over his body.. Even though he was a trained person, screams came out from him which scared Teju, Arjun and Karishma.. All the other contestants started freaking out..

The clock ticked slowly as the stunt boy endured the scorching wax for a full minute.. His screams echoed in the room, heightening the sense of dread... Finally, he pushed the buttons with the stick and was released from the chains... The team rushed to provide him with first aid and he was quickly escorted away..

Rohit Shetty : Dekha sabne.. Iss stunt keliye koi time limit nahi hai.. Jitna samay lena hai lelo, par stunt katam karke aana.. Par sabse syada joh vakth lega, usko milega fear fanda.. Pehle Tejasswi aap karogi, phir Karishma.. uske baad Arjun aap karoge.. Got it?..

Teju's face had no expression.. She prayed to god to do this stunt at last, but god had different plans.. She was called to do the stunt first..

Rohit Shetty : Aao Teju..

She got down from her place and stood near Rohit Shetty..

Rohit Shetty : Kya chal raha hai dimaag mein?

Teju : Kuch nahi hai sir.. Sirf ye soch rahi hun ki main ye stunt kaise jaldi karun..

Rohit Shetty : Isme koi technique nahi hai.. Aapko laith kar karna hai.. Ye will power wala stunt hai.. Aap ladkiyon ko bohot willpower hai.. muje toh poore vishwaas hai ki aap ye stunt achese jaldi karoge.. All the best..

She smiled at him for the confidence he had in her.. The director asked her to change into her stunt outfit.. She got changed and came before the stunt started.. Few contestants like Kushal Tandon, Rani, Kriti were sure that Teju wouldn't be able to do this stunt.. Arjun, Adaa, Shivin and a few other contestants were encouraging her.. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath.. Her Sunny's face flashed before her.. She smiled and opened her eyes.. She could see Rohit Shetty nodding at her and smiled at her, assuring her that she woule do this.. Gaining strength, she moved to the stunt area and laid down on the steel cot.. The stunt persons locked the chains and moved away from that place..

Rohit Shetty : Ready, Teju?..

She nodded..

Rohit Shetty : 3....2......1... go!

The stunt boys came and lit the flames.. Slowly, the wax started melting and fell on her soft body.. Teju winced as the first drops touched her skin, the intense heat causing her to clench her teeth... The pain was immediate and overwhelming... She could hear the gasps of the other contestants as they watched in horror.. She tried to muffle the pain and stopped herself from screaming.. She paitently waited for the 1 minute to complete, holding herself to get out and run from that place..

After a minute, Rohit Shetty said go and within seconds she picked the stick and pushed all the 4 buttons down.. Once the flames were off, she cried out in pain.. Rohit Shetty rushed to her side and hugged her.. The stunt crew rushed in, helping her sit up and removing the remaining wax and escorted her for the first aid..

Rohit wished to be by her side, but as a host, he needed to continue the shoot.. Next, Karishma went and tried to do the stunt.. After taking enough time, she completed the stunt..

It was Arjun's turn.. Teju got treated and stood beside Arjun..

Arjun : Are you fine, sweetie?

Teju : Haan Arju.. Pehle pain hua, par abh theek hun.. Sunny ko mat batana.. voh dar jayega..

Arjun : Par usko show dekhe pata chal jayega na?..

Teju : Haan.. Tab tak hum shoot katam karke vaapas jayenge naa...

Arjun : nahi rey.. isbaar shoots 2 month ke honge na.. 5 mahine ka show hai.. Ye stunt pehla episode mein dalenge.. Phir toh tum yahaan pe hogi na.. isliye bol raha hun, hotel jaake bata dena.. Thik hai?

Teju : hmm.. All the best.. Ek tip doon.. Jab Buttons push karna hai, tab dono haath se stick ko pakadna.. Tab aake tum jaldi se push kar paoge.. Maine ek haath se kiya, isliye muje upar vala button mein time laga..

Arjun : Thank you sweetie.. Syada jala nahi na.. dikha muje..

He focused on her rather than his first stunt, which surprised Rohit, who watched them from distance.. He smiled, seeing their pure bond..

Teju : I'm fine.. Tu apna stunt dekh..

Arjun : Main toh syada chilaunga.. tu dekhna..

Arjun was called to do the stunt.. He screamed a lot when wax fell on his body.. His screams screeched in everyone's ears.. Teju cried hearing his screams.. Adaa hugged her and rubbed her arms to calm her down.. After a minute, he did as Teju said and completed the stunt..

The stunt crew rushed in to help Arjun up and provide first aid... He walked back to Teju, who was still shaken by his screams.. All the contestants and Rohit Shetty gathered again to announce the winner...

Rohit Shetty : Acha.. Muje laga ek khilaadi toh abort karega hi karega, par aise stunt ko aap teenon ne bohot hi acha kiya.. Toh bata deta hun, aap teenon mein se kisko iss hafte fear fanda milne wala hai.. Karishma, aapne ye stunt complete kiya hai 56 seconds mein... Tejasswi, aapne kiya hai 27 seconds mein.. Aur Arjun, aapne kiya hai 25 seconds mein.. So Iss stunt ka vijayata hai Arjun..

Teju hugged Arjun hearing this.. Arjun hugged back and they both did a cute victory dance..

Rohit Shetty : ho gaya bhai behan ka victory dance?..

Teju : Nahi Sir.. Abhi toh shuru hua hai..

Rohit Shetty : Toh karlo dance, par uske pehle, Karishma.. Aapko milega fear fanda.. But Good try.. I'm so proud of you three people..

All praised the three..

Here on the other side, Karan completed his work and went home early.. He spent his time with his and Teju's family.. At night, he kept waiting for her video call, as he was eager to know about her first stunt and how she aced it..

Omi was sitting beside him and laughed while looking at funny reels..

Omi : Oh meri maa.. ahaa.. ahhaa..

Karan looked at him laughing loudly.. He threw the pillow on Omi's face which Omi dodged successfully..

Omi : Muje pata tha.. isliye prepared tha..

Karan : chup reh Omi.. Main already tensed hun.. Muje aur irritate mat kar..

Omi chuckled and continued watching reels..

Karan: *sighing* Yaar, Om, Laddoo ka phone kyun nahi aaya ab tak?

Omi : tumari problem kya hai na.. Tu sabse syada overthinker hai.. joh cheez tumare haath mein nahi hai, usko leke syada sochne se kuch nahi milne wala hai.. Jab Teju ka shoot katam hoga, voh kudh call karegi.. ya tum call kar lena.. simple..

Karan : Shut up.. Don't I know this?.. Koi uske aaspaas hoge toh voh kaise baat karegi mujse.. isliye wait karraha hun call keliye..

Omi : Toh sabar kar.. Sabar ka phal meetha hota hai, Mr. Karan Kundrra..

Just then, Karan's phone buzzed with an incoming video call from Teju.. He immediately picked up at the first ring..

Karan : Hi my laddoo.. Kaisa raha tumara pehla stunt.. easy tha ya hard tha.. I know tumne achese kiya hoga.. Acha tune Khana Khaya?.. Are you comfortable baby? Koi tuje pareshaan nahi karrahe hain na?.. Arjun tuje achese khayal rakh raha haina?.. Tum room pe aagayi?.. Seenu kahaan hai? Main itna bolraha hun tu chup kyun hai?

Karan fired off a barrage of questions without giving Teju a chance to respond... Omi peeked over Karan's phone and saw Teju trying to speak but unable to get a word in...

Omi : aye.. bandar.. Usko baat toh karne do, tab toh baat karegi..

Karan : arey haan.. Tum bolna laddoo.. Main sununga..

Teju : Sunnyy.. I missed you.. a lot...

Hearing her baby voice made Karan's face light up with a smile..

Karan : aye aye.. Main bhi.. Par ye tumara Omi bhaiya.. voh bohot happy hai tere jaane se.. Pura din Phone leke ghoomte rehta hai..

Teju : Atleast let him enjoy.. Acha tumne khana khaya?

Karan : Haan... Khaya.. Pehle ye bata, tumara first stunt kaisa tha..

Teju : voh.. Bohot easy tha... Aasani se kar liya..

Karan : I know.. Meri laddoo kitni strong hai..

Sreetu snatched Teju's phone..

Sreetu : Bhai.. Ye jhoot bol rahi hai.. Kuch easy nahi tha.. Iska pair jalgaya..

Karan's smile vanished, replaced with concern..

Karan : Kya? Laddoo.. Tumara pair jalgaya matlab? Kya kiya tune?.. Syada dard toh nahi ho raha na?

Sreetu : Bhai.. ye thik hai abh.. Wax stunt tha.. Bohot hi katarnak.. Arjun ka bhi yahi haal hai..

Karan looked unconvinced, his worry growing.... Teju noticed this and tried to downplay it..

Teju : It's nothing, Sunny.. Just a little burn.. Main theek hun..

Karan : Main.. Main abhi call karunga Arjun ko.. Tumne proper treatment nahi ki hogi.. Stunt vunt gaya baadme, tume apna khayal rakhna hoga, Laddoo.. Aise stunts mila toh abort kardo..

Teju : I'm okay Sunny.. Arjun ko call karke kuch nahi milega.. uska bhi jala hai.. Jab tum show dekhoge, you'll be proud of me and him.. Vahi chahiye muje.. I'm fit and fine..

Karan took a deep breath, his concern still evident.. 

Karan : Bas, apna dhyan rakhna... Tum meri laddoo hai... Kuch bhi ho, mujhe bata dena... Promise?

Teju : Promise, Sunny... Tumare bina kya karungi...

Karan : Aur haan, agle stunt ke liye... Thoda careful rehna...

Teju : Always, Sunny...

Sreetu : Bhai.. Main iska dyaan rakhungi.. Usikeliye main aayi hun.. But, I'm angry at you, bhai..

Karan : Kyun?

Sreetu : Aapne sirf aapke laddoo ko miss kiya, mereko nahi..

She pouted cutely..

Karan : Arey.. Tume kaise bhool sakta hoon? Tum meri choti behen ho... You are my baby, Seenu..

Sreetu nudged Teju

Sreetu : Dekha tune.. Bhai mujse syada pyaar karte hain.. Bas yahi sunna tha... Ab sab thik hai...

Teju : Acha hai.. Meri nanand ji.. Aapke bhai sabse syada aapse pyaar karte hein.. 

Karan : bass bass.. Tum dono hi mere liye bahut special ho... Dono ko miss karta hun jab paas nahi hote toh....

They laughed and enjoyed their time together, continuing their conversations late into the night...
