Delhi, the capital city of the county. The most popular and crowded too. I, Ahana Goenka was born here living with my mother and father.

I got ready to leave for my job, I was doing my internship. I moved to the dining table and said "maa jaldi se nashta do late ho raha hai mujhe"

My mother came out from kitchen and served the parathe. She complained "iss ladki ko hamesha jaldi rehti hai.."

I smiled and said "aapko toh pata hai na Delhi ka traffic"

"Haan.. pata hai acha sun sham ko time pe aa jaana tujhe toh pata hai Delhi ka mahol" she said in concern.

"Aap zyada tension mat liya karo maa.. Aapki beti ache se janti hai chichore ko sabak sikhana I will be on time" I said while eating the breakfast.

I was not scared of anyone, my father had taught me to be strong and independent girl. I picked up my purse and left the house. I took the auto towards my office. Within 45 minutes, I reached my office. I sat down on my desk and started working.

Beside me was sitting my colleague, she said "Ahana aaj sham sab movie dekhne aa rahe hai tum chalogi?"

I smiled and replied "nahi kal main jaldi chali gayi thi ghar aur kaam pending hai bahut saara you guys enjoy" I love chilling out with friends but today it was not possible.

The day passed in blur, it was 6pm in the evening. I was still in the office, I sighed "ghar jaldi nahi pahuchi toh maa pareshan ho jayengi" I thought.

I turned off the laptop, picked up my things and left the office. I came out of the building and waited for an auto but most of the auto were already full. After about an hour, finally I got an auto and I headed towards my house.

My phone started ringing and it was my mother. I picked up the call and assured her "haan maa main aa rahi hun raste mein hun.. Aaj office mein late ho gaya tha" I ended the call.

The auto stopped, I asked "kya hua bhaisab?"

"Madam aage bahut jaam hai.. Nahi jaa payenge hum aap aage se dusra le lijiye" he said.

I sighed and said "aap log bhi na bahut natak karte ho" I took out money from my purse and gave him. I got down and started walking. It seemed something was stopping me from reaching my home.

It was already 8pm in the night, it was dark. I was only few streets far from my house. I heard a crying sound of infant. I was surprised, as the street was empty. I could hardly see people walking here.

"Ye bache ki rone ki awaaz kaha se aa rahi hai" I thought. I assumed, the child might be lost and I should help. I looked around but could not find the child anywhere. My eyes feel towards to the area where most of the rubbish was. I moved to the place and was left shocked seeing a infant lying down there.

I picked up the child, she was a baby girl. It seemed she was thrown here by her family. I fumed in anger how can people be so cruel. I looked around but found none. She was crying, she seemed be just 10 days old.

I tried to calm her down.. "Nahi rote.. Beta"

The little unknown child held my finger tightly, I smiled at this. She was such a innocent child. I did not know what to do? Should I leave her here or take her with me. How will my family react? I was confused.
