Shree Mansion, Raksha Bandhan Morning

I stood at the top of the grand staircase, overlooking the scene unfolding in the living room below. I could see Pallavi standing there, a tray in her hands filled with Rakhis and sweets, her face lit up with excitement. It was a sight that made my heart swell with affection. Raksha Bandhan had always been a special day for her, and I knew how much it meant to her to celebrate it even now, in a house full of men who were still getting used to having her around.

Pallavi, with her infectious warmth, had managed to break through their stoic exteriors. The bodyguards, my ever-loyal shadows, stood in a line, looking slightly uncomfortable, unsure of what was happening. They were men who had spent their lives in silence, protecting me , expecting nothing in return. Yet here they were, being honoured in a way they never imagined.

"Aap sabhi log mujhe aur meri pariwaar ko hamesha raksha karte ho toh aap mere bhai huye na ,"

( You all always protect me and my family, so you are my brothers, right?")

Pallavi announced, her voice ringing with affection as she tied the Rakhis on each of their wrists. I could see the surprise and then the emotion on their faces. They were not used to this kind of affection, and it showed.

I noticed as her smile grew wider with each Rakhi she tied, her joy spreading to each of the men. He saw Vipul , who was struggling with his emotions.

"Ma'am, hum apni jaan bhi de denge aap ki raksha ke liye. Aapne aaj humein bhai ka darja de diya," vipul said,

( Ma'am, we would even give our lives to protect you. Today, you have given us the status of brothers.)

His voice thick with feeling. I had never seen him look so vulnerable before, and it struck him how much Pallavi had changed things around here.

" This is not just a Rakhi, it is trust. I know that all of you are with me," she replied, resonating through the room, and I even felt the weight of her words. Trust. It was a rare commodity in my world, one I had learned to be cautious with. But Pallavi had a way of making people believe in it again.

As the bodyguards accepted the sweets, their faces lit up with happiness, I felt a sense of pride. She wasn't just my wife; she was the bridge that connected me to his people, my family. She had a way of making everyone feel seen, valued, something I often struggled to do.

I continued to watch as Pallavi moved to my brothers, Adit and Anant. They had been hesitant at first, unsure of how to act, but Pallavi's natural warmth had drawn them in. She tied the Rakhis on their wrists, her movements gentle and loving. I saw the look in their eyes, the love and responsibility they felt for her, and it made me feel content in a way I hadn't felt for a long time.

Adit gifted, an elegant watch, was a surprise even to me .I listened intently as Adit explained its special features,

" This watch won't just tell time, bhabhi It has a sensor that will track your heartbeat. If you are ever in danger or distressed, it will send a notification with your location to Bhaiya ."" my heart skipped a beat at the thought of my love in danger, but I also felt a wave of relief. My brothers had thought of everything.

Her eyes glistening with tears, made my chest tighten. She was so moved, so grateful, and it only made me love her more. I could see how much this family, my family, meant to her. She hugged Adit and Anant, her voice choked with emotion as she thanked them.

I realised then that Pallavi was the heart of my family. She was the one who bound them together, who made them feel like they belonged. And in that moment, I knew that no matter what challenges lay ahead, as long as we had Pallavi, we could face anything. She is my love, my strength, and now, the heart of my family.

My eyes shifted to the door as Neil walked in. Neil's expression was calm, but I could sense a hint of urgency in his demeanour, as if he had just completed some important task.

"Where did you go?" Pallavi's voice cut through the chatter, her eyes fixed on Neil with curiosity.

I watched as Neil shrugged casually, a faint smile on his lips.

" Just some important work, Pallavi" he replied, keeping his voice light.

Neil's gaze flickered towards me, and in that brief moment, an unspoken understanding passed between us. I gave a slight nod, acknowledging Neil's silent message. There was no need for words; we had done this countless times before..

She seemed to notice our silent exchange but chose to let it go. She smiled, gesturing for Neil to join them.

" Come, Neil bhaiya. Your Rakhi is still left." she said, her voice filled with warmth.

My eyes followed Neil as he sat beside Adit and Anant, his arm extended playfully. Pallavi tied the rakhi around his wrist, her face glowing with affection. As she finished, she looked up at Neil with a teasing glint in her eyes.

"Toh, mera gift kahan hai?" she demanded, half-expecting his usual playful antics, Neil's eyes widened in mock surprise.

"Gift? Arre, Pallavi, main toh bhool gaya!" he exclaimed, trying to sound innocent.

I couldn't help but chuckle softly, my gaze fixed on her . She pouted, crossing her arms in a playful show of annoyance.

" You everytime do this only " she scolded, through her eyes sparkled with amusement.

The entire family erupted in laughter, enjoying the familiar sibling banter. I leaned against the wall, my arms crossed, a smile tugging at my lips. Watching her argue over a small gift, even when she had everything she could possibly want,Her innocence, her childlike nature-it was one of the things I cherished most about her.

Neil's expression softened, and I watched as he reached into his pocket, pulling out a small box.

" Yes, yes, here you go, this is for you, now don't pout." ." He said handling a box to her

My eyes were drawn to Pallavi as she opened the box, her face lighting up with surprise. I saw the recognition in her eyes, the way her gaze softened as she looked at the toffees inside.

"Neil bhaiya, these toffees..." her voice was soft, filled with emotion.

My smile deepened as he watched Neil nod, a nostalgic smile on his face.

" Remember, Pallavi? When we were little, you used to eat these toffees hiding from everyone." Neil said, his voice warm with the shared memories of their childhood . The room grew quiet, the air thick with the weight of nostalgia. She reached out, hugging Neil tightly, her love and gratitude evident in the embrace.

"Pallu, tum kabhi mat badalna , aur mein kabhi badalne nahi dunga you are precious the way you are " i murmured under my breath,

My gaze lingered on her face, her joy infectious, her spirit unbreakable. Even after all these years, even with all the responsibilities that came with their life, she still held onto the simple joys, the small moments that made life beautiful.

As I watched Neil and my wife Pallavi getting emotional, I knew it was time to lighten the mood. Pallavi's eyes were moist, and Neil's expression was equally sentimental. I decided a little surprise might cheer them up. Stepping closer to Pallavi, I gently placed my hands over her eyes.

"What are you doing?" she asked, her voice laced with curiosity.

"A surprise," I replied, a smile tugging at my lips. I guided her carefully toward the entrance hall, where the grand doors stood wide open.

After leading her to just the right spot, I removed my hands. She blinked a few times, adjusting to the light, her eyes searching the space before her. The moment her vision cleared, her eyes widened in disbelief. Tears began to well up instantly as she saw who was standing in front of her.

There he was, Prateeksh, who had come all the way from his hostel with Neil. Pallavi's hands flew to her mouth, muffling the sob that escaped her lips. She hadn't expected Prateeksh to be here, not today, not after so many months apart.

"Prateeksh!" she cried, rushing forward to embrace him. The siblings held each other tightly, tears flowing freely as they shared an emotional reunion. The months of separation seemed to melt away in that single, heartfelt embrace.

"I missed you so much, di," Prateeksh murmured, his voice thick with emotion.

Pallavi pulled back slightly, her hands still holding his arms, tears streaking down her cheeks.

"I missed you too," she whispered, her voice breaking. As the initial wave of emotions settled, Pallavi led Prateeksh to the living room. She sat him down, and with a trembling hand,

She took a Rakhi from the tray, the same tray she had used earlier for the others. Gently, she tied the Rakhi around his wrist, her fingers lingering on the thread as if to ensure the bond could never be broken.

In return, Prateeksh pulled out a small, beautifully wrapped package from his pocket.

"This is for you, di," he said, handing it over. Pallavi unwrapped it carefully, revealing a pair of handcrafted bangles, the kind that were only found in Jaipur. She gasped, recognizing the intricate work.

"Prateeksh, these are beautiful! You didn't have to...." He cut her off with a shake of his head.

"I wanted to. I saved up my pocket money for these. I know how much you love traditional jewellery." Pallavi's eyes filled with tears again, not just at the beauty of the gift but at the thoughtfulness behind it. She hugged him again, her heart swelling with pride and love.

"Thank you, Prateeksh. This means more to me than you know."

They spent some time together, talking and laughing, catching up on everything they had missed in each other's lives. Prateeksh shared stories from his hostel, and Pallavi filled him in on life at the mansion. But all too soon, Prateeksh had to leave to visit Simi Maasi . He had only one day off and didn't want to miss the chance to see her.

"Come to the party later tonight," Pallavi said as she saw him off. "I'm inviting Simi Maasi and her family too."

Prateeksh nodded, smiling. "I wouldn't miss it for the world."

As I watched Pallavi wave him off, her eyes still bright with the remnants of her tears, I felt a deep contentment. This was what family was about ,,,, coming together, celebrating, and holding on to the bonds that kept us strong. And today, Pallavi reminded us all of that.

I moved closer, wrapping an arm around her shoulders.

"Are you happy?" I muttered in her ear ..

She leaned into me, a soft smile playing on her lips.

"More than you can imagine, Arjun. Thank you for this. It means everything to me."

I kissed the top of her head, feeling the warmth of her happiness radiating through me.

"That's all I ever want, Pallavi. For you to be happy." I whispered to her face, taking her face in my hands ..

Later we completed our breakfast and started towards abraham house, it's their first rakhi after a long time , I wouldn't want to miss those moments ,

"By now, you all must have figured out what I am hiding from my wife and saale saab, but it's necessary to keep this a secret.

When the time comes, not only Abrahm and Pallu, but all of you will also know the whole truth."

The car glided smoothly down the road, Vipul in the driver's seat, eyes focused on the path ahead. In the rearview mirror, I could see Neil's car following closely, a habit of his that had become second nature. It was our first Rakhi festival after the wedding, and we were on our way to Abraham's house. The anticipation of the celebration, mixed with the warmth of family, filled the air.

Pallavi sat beside me, her presence calming yet electric at the same time. She was looking out of the window, lost in thought, but I could sense she had something on her mind. Slowly, she intertwined her fingers with mine, the touch soft yet firm. A hint of a smile tugged at my lips; I knew this gesture well. It meant she was about to say something important.

"Arjunnnn," she stretched my name out, her voice dripping with sweetness.

I turned to her, an amused smile playing on my lips.

"Now what does my love want to do?" I asked, glancing at her. Her eyes widened slightly, surprised. I could almost see the thoughts running through her mind, wondering how I always seemed to know. What she didn't realise was that I knew her better than anyone, perhaps even better than she knew herself.

She hesitated, her fingers tightening around mine, and I gave her a reassuring nod.

"Go ahead, Pallavi," I encouraged softly. She took a deep breath, gathering her thoughts.

"I got a call from Jaya aunty," she began, her voice a mixture of concern and determination.

"She said things aren't going well between Abraham bhaiya and Janvi bhabhi. She asked for my help. Would you help me out?"

Her eyes searched mine, looking for support. How could I deny her? Seeing her serene face, her earnest request, I nodded.

"Of course, Pallavi. I'll help you," I replied, my voice steady. But internally, I felt a surge of anticipation, a smile curling up inside me.

I thought back to all the times Abraham had sided with his sister instead of me, his so-called best friend. He'd played with fire, and now it was time for him to face the consequences. He thought he could get away with it, but he hadn't counted on me. I was more than just his best friend, I was his brother-in-law, and it was time he learned what that meant.

"Abraham Khurana," I thought to myself, my smile turning slightly wicked.

"You've played your cards, and now it's my turn. You took your sister's side over your best friend's. Let's see how you handle this."

As Pallavi spoke about the issues between Abraham and Janvi, her voice filled with concern, I listened carefully. This was my chance to not only help her but to turn the tables. Abraham would learn that you don't mess with me, especially not when it involves the people I care about.

Pallavi continued, unaware of the thoughts running through my mind. She only saw the supportive husband beside her, ready to do whatever it took to help her family. And that was true , I would do anything for her. But this was more than that. This was about loyalty, about standing up for what was right, and maybe, just maybe, about settling a few old scores.

As we approached Abraham's house, I felt a sense of resolve settle over me. I squeezed Pallavi's hand, giving her a reassuring smile.

"Don't worry, Pallavi. We'll sort this out. Together."

She smiled back at me, her trust evident in her eyes. Little did she know, this was just the beginning. Abraham

Khurana was about to find out exactly what his best friend and now brother-in-law , was capable of.

Khurana Mansion

As Arjun and I stepped into Abrahm bhaiyya's mansion along with Adit and Anant, I couldn't help but be amazed. The place looked completely different from before. New paintings adorned the walls, and fresh photos filled the frames. Even the decorations had changed, giving the mansion a refreshing and lively vibe.

Jaya aunty and Mahesh uncle greeted us warmly at the door. Their smiles were genuine, and they made us feel instantly at home.

"Come in, beta , come in. It's so nice to see both of you." Jaya aunty welcomed us

" Yes, you've come after so many days. We missed you a lot." Mahesh uncle supported Jaya aunty

Before I could respond, Abrahm bhaiyya appeared, his face lighting up as he saw us. Without a word, he pulled me into a tight hug.

One thing is true, whenever I hug bhaiya, I feel a sense of peace. Like a real brotherly feeling...

After a moment, he released me, and we all moved inside. The living room was bustling with activity. Janvi bhabhi's family was there, chatting and laughing. I didn't know everyone too well, but I recognized Bhairav Singh Thakar .

He's a very angry person. And Ranvijay Singh Thakur... he's a bit less angry."

In the centre of the room, Janvi bhabhi was tying rakhis around the wrists of both Bhairav and Ranvijay. The scene was heartwarming, but then I noticed the gifts they were giving her.

Bhairav ji handed her a whip, and Ranvijay ji gave her a first aid box.

" "Who gives such gifts to their sister? Are they still angry with my brother? Poor bhaiya, he got such brothers-in-law who gave their sister a weapon as a gift and the other gave medicine..." I thought to myself

Arjun nudged me, trying to suppress a grin.

"It seems like there's a secret message in their gifts too." he whispered

I chuckled softly, shaking my head. It was a strange but amusing family dynamic, one that made Abrahm bhaiyya's mansion feel even more alive and full of character. As we settled in, I couldn't help but feel grateful for this chaotic yet loving family around me.

I approached Abrahm Bhaiyya, a rakhi in my hand. As I tied it around his wrist, he gave me a warm smile, one that reached his eyes and softened his usually stern features.

I had learned recently that after the tragic death of his sister, Abrahm Bhaiyya had never allowed anyone else to tie a rakhi to him. The fact that he had given me this right, allowed me to step into a place that once belonged to his sister, filled my heart with joy and a sense of belonging. I felt honoured and grateful.

After the ceremony, he handed me an envelope. Confused, I opened it and my eyes widened in shock. Inside were property papers. My jaw dropped as I realised what he was giving me.

"Bhaiya, what is this? I don't want these property papers," I said firmly, my voice trembling.

"I am happy with what I have of my own. I can't take these papers." I tried to hand them back, my hands shaking slightly.

Mahesh Uncle, who had been watching us, stepped forward. His voice was gentle yet firm as he spoke, "Beta, it's not about the gift, it's about security. It is necessary to have some property in your name. It's important for girls to have property, my dear, and now that you are our responsibility, we have given you the right to be our child , along with our love. We've given this out of love, please don't refuse it, my child.

His words left me speechless. I glanced at Arjun, who was standing nearby, his eyes encouraging me to accept the gift. He gave a slight nod, signalling that it was okay, that I should take it.

Reluctantly, I took the papers, holding them as if they were made of glass. But in my mind, a resolve formed. I would use this gift only for them, never for myself.

My father's teachings echoed in my mind: "Dusro ka kaam aur dhan par kabhi hamara haq nahi hota hai, jo hum mehnat karke kamata hai wahi humara asli daulat hai."

(We never have a right over others' work or wealth; what we earn through our hard work is our true wealth.)

Just then, Janvi Bhabhi came forward and said, "Your brother is just like this, Phool Kumari. He never knows what's in a girl's heart... I'll be right back." She went inside and returned a few minutes later with a box, which she handed to me.

I slowly opened the box, revealing a pair of *ghungroos*.

"These *ghungroos*?" I said with excitement.

"Yes, and I've heard that, like my khoobsurat sasuma , you dance very well. So I thought you might like this gift," she said, hugging her warmly.

" I chuckled by hearing another Nickname from her , she calls my husband as bola barood khaarkhana, me as phool Kumari Mahesh uncle as dashing sasur ji, and it's now Jaya aunty turn , khoobsurat sasuma , I wonder what nickname he gave to bhaiyya ..

We talked for sometime and finished our lunch Jaya Aunty and I wanted to resolve the issues between Bhaiyya and Bhabhi, so Jaya Aunty took me to Abhram Bhaiyya's room.

I didn't know that my husband had followed us and entered the room as well.

"The room is very beautiful, unlike my husband's taste. Bhaiyya's room is very lively. There are white curtains on the ceiling side, and the walls have beautiful paintings that anyone would fall in love with at first sight.

But there is one thing I don't like-there are two beds in the room. This means...

"Pallavi, dear, do you know what happened two days ago? Abhram spilled water on the couch where Janvi used to sleep, and then Janvi set fire to the bed. Fortunately, Abhram was quick enough to put out the fire with the water he had spilled. And yesterday, they brought in two beds-one for Abrahm and one for Janvi," Jaya Aunty said in one breath, and I widened my eyes, looking at the beds.

" And what we can expect from aadha pagal insaan " my husband said and pivoted my head towards him ..

" When did you come ? " I questioned him

" When Jaya aunty narrates you the horror story " he replied ..

" I really don't understand what to do ? I can see them when they are fighting and blaming each other " Jaya aunty worried .

"So, what should we do now, Aunty?" I asked, sounding worried.

"Simple, just break one of the beds, and problem solved," I heard Adit's voice from under the bed. I saw him coming out from under the bed.

"Adit, what are you doing here?" I asked.

"Bhabhi , Anant ate my sweets, so I took his ice cream. Now Anant is looking for me to beat me up, so I hid here," Adit said, pouting like a little kid.

"And bhabhi , it's simple logic. There are two beds, so both of you are sleeping separately. If there were only one bed, both of you would be on the same bed. And you know about the law of attraction, right? So just break one bed. It's simple," Adit said, thinking he was being brilliant.

Just then, we heard Anant shouting, and Adit ran away, with Aunty Jaya following him.

Now, only Arjun and I were left in the room. Arjun was about to leave when I grabbed his collar and stopped him.

"What are you doing? Look, if you're trying to tear my clothes and get physical, I have no problem with that. But let me remind you, we're in someone else's house," he said in a naughty tone.

At first, I opened my mouth in shock, then slapped him on the shoulder.

"You're so shameless, Arjun! That's not why I'm stopping you," I said. I don't understand why these red hues come to my cheeks so quickly.

"Then why are you stopping me, Pallu?" he asked, coming towards me. I put my hand on his chest to stop him.

"Didn't you hear what Adit said?" I asked him, and it reminded me of how Arjun once told me about how Abrahm Bhaiyya blackmailed him on our wedding night.

"So, should I call the carpenter now, to break the bed?" he questioned me back.

"No, you should break it yourself. If you call the carpenter, Bhaiyya will find out," I replied.

"Pallavi, maybe you've forgotten who I am. My name is Arjun Srivastav. I own 20 companies, I'm one of the top 5 businessmen in Asia, and people tremble at the mere mention of my name," he tried to make me understand.

"Still, you can't even break a bed? Are these muscles just for show?" I mocked him.

"Shut up, Pallavi. I'm not breaking this bed," he pleaded.

"You'll have to," I argued.

"I won't break it."

"You have to break it."

Just then, someone knocked on the door.

"Who is it?" I shouted.

" Pallavi, Arjun tumhare saath hai ? " it was Abrahm from the other side of the door ..

" Haan bhaiyya, mere saath hai aur kaam mein busy hai " I replied while glaring at my husband

" Kaam ?? Kounsa kaam woh bhi mere room mein " bhaiyya enquired..

" Palang todne wala kaam " I said and immediately Arjun closed my mouth with his palm ..
