Fowl

Scavengers of the air. Winged beasts in the skys that soar, carefree without a worry. Though not all of the are as they seem. To see what they are. To feel like they do. One simply must gaze into their eyes. Digimon Ghost Game! A Fowl End!

In a small cafe that slowly was being decorated for the spirited holiday known as Halloween. A favorite place of one, Ruli Tsukiyono. She enjoyed coming to the small cafewith her best friends. The one she would occasionally treat her friends on Team Lirurun as well. Times of happy memories were always made there.

This time she used the place as an opportunity to help Mei with an issue that had been troubling her.

"So you and Shiramon lose your connection?" Ruli asked. Eating her the limited edition holiday treat that would only be available for the month of October.

Mei nodded with a sigh. She drunk the chai green tea that she drown herself in. To make it a bit more festive, Ruli had secretly added some pumpkin spice to it.

It seems like Mei didn't pick up on the flavor. That or she refuse to acknowledge that it made the tea better.

Mei"She refuses to talk. Her attacks don't come to mind when we get into trouble. She even has stopped going to the gatherings. All she seems to do is stay at home and tend to the babies. I can't stop thinking that this is all my fault. I had been distancing myself since her outburst about my brothers. Shiramon had every right to be upset at me. I had hid something that should have been address to you all immediately. Though it seems like no matter how much I try to move pass it, it would appear that my brothers mentioning is still a sore spot for me" Mei could recall her emotions after Shiramon tried to apologize.

Sorrow. Pain. Anger. Regret. Despair.

"We were all upset too. Though I see why you wanted to study this first" Ruli put a comforting hand on Mei shoulder. "I'm sure that the two of you will make up"

Ruli words managed to bring a small smile to Mei face. A rare sight that nowadays wasn't so rare. It seems that their support was helping her slowly melt the girl heart of ice cold loneliness.

"Thank you. Those words truly mean a lot to me" Mei relaxed at those words. As if they managed to remove a bit of her stress.
"Anytime!" She smiled.

Then her phone rung. It appeared that she had recieved a new case from Lirurun.

"It's a case but something is off" Ruli read over the case on her phone. A puzzled look over her face.

"May I see?" Mei asked.

Ruli nodded, handing Mei the phone. Mei skills would come in handy for what this case contained. Mei read the case and began to use her mind to unlock it's mystery.

"This seems to be about a story told around the time of witches" Mei confirmed before handing the cellphone back to it's owner.

"You know stories from that far back?" Ruli asked. Quite shock to how far Mei knew about folktales and myths.

"You forget that I am a skilled gatherer of intel, my friend. Some stories secretly  conceal value information that some see as lost knowledge. I don't make that mistake. I believe any source holds creditable info" Mei was the master of information
"°Oh right" Ruli nearly forgot this.

Mei was slowly opening up to them that they no longer view her as the scary information lady as before. Though she had the tendency to remind them otherwise.

"It appears to be the tale of the Crow and Witch Child. Many years ago, two children from Salem. A young boy and his young sister. Both lived merrily in their small village till the Witch of Mischief came. The witch tormented the village. Turning the residents into creatures that could only be labelled as eerie or creepy. In a matter of sixteen days since arriving, only ten residents remain as humans. Fearful for their lives is when the adults made a decision. They made a trade. The villagers would offer the two children to the witch if she spared them as well as restore the turned residents. The witch accepted for she required the blood of two siblings for a spell which would grant her full power. Thus now the children who once lived happily were now prisoners of the mischievous witch" Mei told the tale yet was interrupted

"They gave her the children?! Just to be spared?! What the heck?! How could they be so heartless?!" Ruli was outraged about the villagers actions.

"No idea. The weak are often sacrificed to others so the strong may live but the story isn't over" Mei desired to share the rest of it with Ruli.

"Go on" Ruli calmed herself down just enough to endure the rest of the story.

"The witch required the blood of two siblings for a spell which would grant her incredible magical power. Only for the spell to be brew on a full moon night which would be a week from when she obtained such power. Till such a night, the two were treated as slaves. Cleaning her cauldrons. Sorting potions. Making her the most horrible smelling meals that to the witch were the most mouth watering entrees. All to exchaust the two so that they held no resistance once she procured  the blood she's so much desired. Though the boy had a plan. On the night that spell would be preformed, he pricked his fingers twice. One the witch obversed with a keen eye. However a brief distraction from the girl burning her meal, allowed him to hide the fact that he pricked his finger a second time. That way the witch would believe she got both siblings blood. However  their clever plan had sadly backfired. The witch had died. The siblings suffered a darker fate. The girl became a witch hand maiden who desires to be a witch. The brother became a bird" The story shocked Ruli.

"Then that means that this case could be related to the story right?" Mei nodded at Ruli conclusion.

"It seems that way. However if this is a "Dark Mist" case" Mei paused before finishing stopping. "Then it could involved the remaining six "Mist Meisters" " Mei honored Clyde new title for his friends.

Plus it did sound pretty cool. Hiro even wanted a T-shirt based around the  "Dark Mist"

"It may just be us today" Ruli sighed. "The boys are on a trip"

That left just the two of them. Angoramon and Shiramon would be with them too. Time for the girls of Lirurun to tackle a case without the boys. Eith the exception of Angoramon.

Mei could only hope that this would be the first step to start to regain trust with Shiramon. Otherwise, it would be the end of their friendship forever.

The girl stepped out of a cafe. Unaware that a crow like creature watched them. Like as if it monitored their movements like a camera.
"It seems I found you" It then flew away. Trying to blend with a flock of birds passing by.

Soon he would be free.

At Ruli, Angoramon tried to chat with Shiramon. The wolf assassin said nothing at all. Either she had a sore throat or she was staying silent on purpose. He thought it may just be focused on Mei. Though as days passed, he noticed that she was acting off around the lot of them.

Shiramon kept to herself and only engaged in fights against enemies. Spending her days focus mostly around the forty baby digimon in her care. The gathers seem to lost a bit of sparkle without her there.

As if she were a void of emptiness that prefered to remain closed instead of pulling them in to fill that void.

It pain him watching her slowly destroyed herself for an unknown reason. He could only pray that this was temporary. Not at all how she was when Malicemon was slowly taken over.

Could this be another attempt of Malicemon trying to take over again? He shuddered at the mere thought.
He noticed how her behavior to each of them had changed.

She kept her problems away from Hiro. Doing them all without hearing his advice. Often pulling an Espimon and going out of sight whenever he attempted to talk to her.

Ruli who love to style her fur, now only dressed up the babies without Shiramon assist. It felt that Ruli lost one of her closest gal pals. Shiramon would leave right away the moment  they arrive.

Shiramon avoid Kiyo completely as if he were the plague. It was sad though since Angoramon recalled that the two had recently shared in interest in a certain RPG Fanstany world game. Kiyo seem to miss playing with her more and more. Though she did seem to appear to aid him whenever dangers threatened them.

Whenever their detective friend would call to check on them, Shiramon refused to answer. Even if the call was particularly for her. It hurt their friend that she wasn't opening up anymore.

Had the Snow Queen Ice never truly been removed from her heart that day?
Gammamon would try to play with her. Interact with her as the two used to. Shiramon had become a big suster like figure to him. She often helped teach him things while Hiro was  busy. Angoramon could swore that the two spoke french once. Nowadays Shiramon gave Gammamon the cold shoulder. Avoiding him as if he were a troublemaker. Even if he cried, Shiramon would ignore him.

Jellymon and Shiramon used to hang out. Jellymon mentioned helping Shiramon be up to date on the latest trends of the human world. Often saying that all ladies need to be aware of the newest fashions. Though lately it would seem like Shiramon was scared of Jellymon now. Like she was on thin ice around her. Jellymon thought it might be from how she would tease Shiramon by making thunder noises with her electricity.  Knowing full well that Shiramon is afraid of it. Though it seemed not the case for this time.

It simply confused Angoramon. What could have cganged her behavior so abruptly? A virus? Should he take her to Mummymon for a check up? Maybe he should hold a therapy session to find the root of this problem? Should he just be straightforward and ask her? For once he felt clueless on a matter.

The digimon at the gatherings grew concerned too. Reppamon missed his friend that gave him advice about how to take care of his new pupil Kyaromon. He seemed disappointed that Shiramon stopped coming to meetings. Even thought it was his fault on how he treated her after being reborn. He did not know she was also a victim of Malicemon. He just used her as an outlet for his anger. Something he shouldn't have done to the amnesiac digimon at the time. Recently her and  Kinkakumon have had a friendly rivalry these past few months. Challenging each other to competitions  to see who was the the best. The loser of said competitions would learn something new from winner. Shiramon lack of appearances made Kinkakumon angry. So upset that her younger brother Ginkakumon could barely restrain her. It seems she enjoyed Shiramon company greatly. Most of the digimon at the gatherings worried  about her.

Most of the questions that he was recieving lately were: How was Shiramon? Is she sick? Why has she stopped coming? Have we upset her? Did something happen?

Questions he wish he could answer.

It wasn't just the digimon at the gatherings who were worried about her either. More friends worried about her too.

Clockmon became aware that more troublemakers roamed around then usual. That was because Shiramon still went out and hunt down digimon that were harming humans. She only killed those who were could not be redeemed. Often tsking them to him so that they could fight a place in the human world. Now he was missing his helper in the shadows.

Mummymon missed the visits and calls that Shiramon gave him daily. As busy as he was as a doctor, he always made time for the digimon that he adopted. He felt pain that Shiramon was avoiding him. Asking if she was ill or not quite herself. Though Shiramon just ghosted him as if she truly became a spirit. It was strarting to break his heart.

Aliana who at times found her sister, a bothersome child who never seems to let her work was starting to miss Shiramon. She even started to call Mei just for a chance to chat with Shiramon.

How she got Mei number was still a mystery since Mei always seem to have a different number for each of them. Though it seems every one of her attempts was futile.
Mei and Ruli arrived with news of a new case. One that it would be just the four of them.

Shiramon finally arose from her resting spot and prepared for the case.

Angoramon and Mei needed to get to the root of this before Shiramon destroys all the bridges she held with the others.

Outside were the six Carbunmon, a girl, and a Xiquemon. Each looked forward to finally meeting the childen.

Will Shiramon finally tell why she's been distancing herself from the others? Who is the  girl? What mystery does she hold? Could the bird Digimon Xiquemon be related to the story? Find out soon!
